This isn't meant to be a list of every SL-related site — please keep it focused on tools targeted at helping Residents find people, places, and things.

Official
These resources are provided by Linden Lab, either on our website in the viewer. We can't guarantee the accuracy of any Resident-created services below.
- Second Life Showcase - "... an editorially-controlled area that highlights some of the best inworld venues and locations that might be of interest to new and existing Residents. This is the place to go to explore and discover some of the exciting user-created locations in Second Life."
- Resident Resources - "... third-party tools or services that extend the capabilities of the Second Life world and improve the Resident experience." Some overlap with this page.
- Inworld search - In Second Life, click the Search button on your toolbar (at the bottom of your screen), or use the search field (with the magnifying glass icon) in the upper-right of the screen.
- Profile picks - Right-click another avatar, select Profile from the pie menu, then click the Picks tab to see their favorite places, and often, friends (which may or may not be listed with a relevant location). Use the Teleport button towards the bottom to travel there.

Alternative ways to find land (in addition to Search > Land Sales tab).
- LandMachine - Has a live search that accepts flexible parameters.
- Mappa Novus - Free version of a paid-for service with extensive criteria.
Photos
Browsing through snapshots from Second Life, both raw and post-processed, is a quick 'n' fun way to find stuff you'll enjoy. Please click the title of this section to see and add highlights.
Things
- SLateIt - A recommendation system for inworld objects allowing you to tag and rate them with a HUD.
Webshops
You can use these to conveniently shop for Second Life stuff on the web and have it delivered to your avatar inworld.
- OnRez - "Online market for resident created products. Offers free Second Life viewer, free product listing, forum, and blog."
- SL Exchange - "Sells objects, clothes and others things used in the game."
Websites & Social Networks
Many Residents write about cool things they find inworld on the web. The more a network gets used, the more useful it can become.

- Summize's Twitter search - Try entering your own keywords.
You can keep track of many blogs by aggregating their RSS feeds.
