Django

Hi Babbage, I noticed you recently added many sub-pages about Django to this wiki (User:Babbage_Linden/Django/Adoption and more). Could you please tell us some more generic info about that? is Django going to be used within Second Life? Is that in any way related to the up-coming HTTP-in new LSL features? (I'm looking forward to those features, but I couldn'find any other use examples than LSL_http_server/examples). Sorry if I'm not clear in my questions, and btw I'm not a Django user or developer, I'm just interested in what Lindens are working on :-) --Opensource Obscure 15:40, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Well spotted :-D We're evaluating Django as a platform at Linden, these were part of a presentation that I put on the wiki so I could display them in world :-D

Mandelbrot Explorer

Having been a fan of Benoir for some time I was greatly amused and impressed to find your (beautiful and elegant) script. However I am having trouble making the object it goes in. Could you provide a breakdown of what goes where please? I have tried the root in several places and have used

as a guide but I get a multi colored (coloured (I'm English)) mush. I live in hope. Be Right On. -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 09:43, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Non Comment on Talk:Text To Byte Conversion

I saw your non comment and thought I'd take a whack at fixing it more properly. I came up with two solutions:

  1. A hack that does a quick search through the list for nulls, adds on some extra characters so that you don't get trailing nulls to screw up the Base64 conversion.
  2. Rewrite it so it uses llUnescapeURL instead. Doesn't choke on multiples of 256 that aren't 0.

You can see both solutions in the revision history. I settled on the latter because is is IMHO prettier but by no means is it faster. Personally I would prefer to just ax the bit truncation so the user doesn't try to use integer values that can't fit into bytes. -- Strife (talk|contribs) 04:46, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Sorry to hear that you didn't survive the cull after all

You'll be missed. You were an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others and, you're a really nice chap. Whatever you decide to do next, I'm sure you'll make a success of it. Good luck, take care and be happy. -- Fred Gandt (talk|contribs) 23:42, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
