- [12:04] Alexa Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/2008-07-28
- [12:05] Cummere Mayo: hmms "nya we need a linden on this side... to even things out *nodnod*
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: for today's sampling menu
- [12:05] Squirrel Wood: lots of solaris in there
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: nice too see so many patches
- [12:05] Gellan Glenelg: i hope we can treat those all the same way
- [12:05] Bridie Linden: sits in the middle
- [12:05] Harleen Gretzky: Hi Bridie
- [12:06] Nya Linden: sorry Cummere.. once I sit, there's no getting me back up again. :)
- [12:06] Cummere Mayo: smiles to bridie and opens up the viewer
- [12:07] Aric Linden: shall we start?
- [12:07] Bridie Linden: yezzir
- [12:07] Aric Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7383
- [12:08] Bridie Linden: u skipped one Aric
- [12:08] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5949
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: VWR-5949[c
- [12:08] Aric Linden: sorry scroled ahead
- [12:08] Cummere Mayo: seen that one. part of why i had downgraded to 19.0 till 20.15 became mainline
- [12:09] Squirrel Wood: Win/XP SP2 - suggest to install sp3
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: and to update graphics drivers.
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: and see if it still happens.
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: I can ask both
- [12:10] Cummere Mayo: ild agree with the divers but i was still getting out of mem issues with them
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: then downgrade the drivers. one version number.
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: may help
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: also check how many tasks run in the background
- [12:11] Cummere Mayo: sp2 doenst neccisarily mean anything. if you take all the reccamnded updates yours will still show sp2 even though you have all the same patches as 3
- [12:12] Joeseph Albanese: I adjusted virtual mem and it went away :-D
- [12:12] Aric Linden: still reading the thread
- [12:12] Squirrel Wood: virtual mem... yes. I have seen SL eat up the swap file here... 25% of a 4GB swapfile used by SL
- [12:13] Squirrel Wood: atm 340 inmem, 308 in swap
- [12:13] Aric Linden: how did you do the adjustment?
- [12:14] Joeseph Albanese: Ctrl panel, system
- [12:14] Aric Linden: what did you chance?
- [12:14] Aric Linden: change?
- [12:14] Squirrel Wood: fixed size swapfile or "let winbugs manage the swapfile" ?
- [12:14] Joeseph Albanese: Let Win
- [12:15] Aric Linden: can you update the issue with that info and suggest it to others?
- [12:15] Joeseph Albanese: 10L says most people used a computer checkup utility that changed it to fixed.
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: shall I mark this with a last triaged date>
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: ?
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: fixed size doesn't fragment but needs to be big enough
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: and that's the key benefit
- [12:16] Aric Linden: yes please alexa
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: onto patches then?
- [12:17] Aric Linden: yes

- [12:20] Cummere Mayo: um ok well considering im sure unix is popular probably should cosnider importing to look at it?
- [12:20] Viridian Exonar: Other than building my own OS once... never again..
- [12:21] Aric Linden: import but i dont think this is ours to fix
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: assing to?
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: assign*
- [12:21] Squirrel Wood: the only thing I ever used a sun machine for was as a print server for an industry size printer. :p
- [12:21] Aric Linden: vivox may have their own ideas about thu=is
- [12:21] Harleen Gretzky: Soft took the last bunch a few months ago
- [12:22] Aric Linden: assign to stephany please
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: do we want to do the same for the others as well?
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: or look at these one at a time?
- [12:22] Aric Linden: one at a time some may be ours
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: next up is
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: VWR-8297[c
- [12:23] Viridian Exonar: Well.. that's similiar..
- [12:23] Aric Linden: import viewer
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:24] Aric Linden: different part o the codebase
- [12:24] Cummere Mayo: well this one is viewer not vc viri though i wish they would have stated what these patches do exactly
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: VWR-8296[c
- [12:24] Aric Linden: agreed cummere
- [12:25] Kiosk: SL: Open Source General Info whispers: Thank you! Your items will be delivered to you soon!
- [12:26] Cummere Mayo: deifnately thinks these shoud be looked at clsoely. kinda feeling uneasy if we dont knwo really what it does... almsot tempted to say salp em all Need mroe info and ask for patch description
- [12:26] Gellan Glenelg: well, this onejust seems to be defining a director path, based on hardware
- [12:26] Gellan Glenelg: directory*
- [12:26] Viridian Exonar: Sorta agree Cummere..
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: WB Ellla
- [12:27] Aric Linden: worth taking in
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: viewer?
- [12:27] Aric Linden: yes
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: VWR-8295[c
- [12:28] Aric Linden: wonders if whoops bought a sparc on ebay
- [12:29] Aric Linden: import, viewer
- [12:29] Cummere Mayo: has no idea what these do havign no unix/linux ssytems nor a good program to pen up the code assumign she could even read code
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: VWR-8294[c
- [12:29] Bridie Linden: $100 on ebay...
- [12:29] Aric Linden: they're just patches to essentially create compatibility with that hardware, cummere
- [12:30] Aric Linden: nods
- [12:30] Aric Linden: x86 is, um, pretty old
- [12:30] Viridian Exonar: Yes.. yes it is
- [12:30] Gellan Glenelg: wordpad works fine for looking at these :)
- [12:30] Aric Linden: alexa, let's just take the rest in and assign to viewer
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: gotcha :)
- [12:31] Aric Linden: please mark all of them as normal priority
- [12:31] Bridie Linden: agrees
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: so that takes us down to VWR-8357[c
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: ok - I'll adjust priority on all of them
- [12:31] Aric Linden: I don't want to figure out the priority for these in reality
- [12:31] Viridian Exonar: yay for 64 characters? *blinks*
- [12:31] Aric Linden: there must be all of 2000 people still using x86 machines and 12 of them are in second life
- [12:32] Aric Linden: grins goofily
- [12:32] Cummere Mayo: lol aric
- [12:32] Joeseph Albanese: is gonna pull out the Commodore 64
- [12:32] Viridian Exonar: Umm.. wouldn't the processors... nevermind.. wow..
- [12:32] Cummere Mayo: at least i dont know of anyone trying to run on a modified commodor 64 yet
- [12:33] Aric Linden: Viridian, depends on if they're running linux or solaris
- [12:33] Thickbrick Sleaford: ahm, the patches don't seem to be hardware specific, rather solaris specific, from a quick glance
- [12:33] Aric Linden: anyway, let's take signpost marv's patch please
- [12:33] Cummere Mayo: still has her commodor soemwhere
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: Get out your swim rings...... it's time for the misc. pool
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: VWR-8240[c
- [12:34] Bridie Linden: Commodore 64 for $30 on ebay!
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: they pay you bridie?
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: :P
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: take my comm 64 away please!
- [12:35] Bridie Linden: may still have hers...
- [12:35] Aric Linden: nya
- [12:35] Nya Linden: yes?
- [12:35] Aric Linden: we need to chat today re: GIAB
- [12:35] Nya Linden: kk.
- [12:35] Aric Linden: <insert huge sigh here>
- [12:36] Nya Linden: 4:30?
- [12:36] Aric Linden: possibly nya
- [12:36] Cummere Mayo: well despite how rude the rporter comes across i say import it
- [12:37] Aric Linden: agrees with cummere
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: viewer?
- [12:38] Viridian Exonar: relunctantly import it.. heh
- [12:38] Gellan Glenelg: hmm. it's 64 bit only - is that supported?
- [12:38] Bridie Linden: "it appears the issue is confined to the 64-bit version of the linux viewer. "
- [12:38] Cummere Mayo: I did comment that they should show some patience
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: so do I still want to import and if so, am I assigning to Viewer?
- [12:39] Nya Linden: 64-bit isn't supported yet..
- [12:39] Cummere Mayo: *shrugs* i dotn think 64 bit was supported though...
- [12:39] Viridian Exonar: Didn't I read that 64-bit was not fully supported yet somewhere?
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: wow
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:39] Cummere Mayo: we could still import asign LOW priority
- [12:40] Cummere Mayo: cuase im sure eventually 64 will be supported sepcially since 128 is being developed
- [12:40] Aimee Trescothick: gets the feeling people might think 64-bit isn't supported yet for some reason
- [12:40] Thickbrick Sleaford: it's not a 64 bit viewer
- [12:40] Aric Linden: 64 bit is NOT supported yet
- [12:40] Aimee Trescothick: :D
- [12:40] Aric Linden: it's not supported because there's not yet a 64 bit havok build
- [12:41] Aric Linden: but there's been some talk of it
- [12:41] Aric Linden: so i think it might be on the way
- [12:41] Thickbrick Sleaford: am I missing something? the bug is about the regular viewer running on a 64 bit Fedora, with compatability libs
- [12:42] Cummere Mayo: looks to aric. do we say 64 bit isnt supported or do we import at lowest priority till such a time havak releases 64 bit version?
- [12:42] Aric Linden: put it on the queue for support
- [12:42] Aric Linden: every little bit helps move the needle toward forcing support
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: SVC-1546[c
- [12:43] Gellan Glenelg: did you skip one?
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: did I?
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: one sec
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: sorry, I did
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: VWR-8343[c
- [12:44] Squirrel Wood: update graphics drivers... #1 tip :p
- [12:44] Gellan Glenelg: another dupe of this, this morning - giot him to add crash report to this one
- [12:45] Bridie Linden: Should this be a dupe of VWR-6733?
- [12:45] Harleen Gretzky: These are teh latest
- [12:45] Squirrel Wood: then downgrade
- [12:45] Squirrel Wood: Nvidia recently released new drivers - they may cause unforeseen problems
- [12:46] Harleen Gretzky: Seems so, lol
- [12:46] Cummere Mayo: I really wish people would try checking thier drivers before filling out jiras. and try seeing if their issue is already existant
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: ok - so making as a dup?
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: of 6733?
- [12:46] VanceC Spyker: (is this a sl meeting on drivers or something? i just found this place from sandbox)
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: [1] ^^
- [12:46] Gellan Glenelg: it's a bug triage - not just drivers
- [12:47] VanceC Spyker: oo ok
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: so I'm marking the last one as a dup
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: next up is
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: SVC-1546[c
- [12:48] Cummere Mayo: nods. want me to suggest updgrading then retrograding drivers?
- [12:48] Lovecraft Docherty: perhaps it is vista not the drivers
- [12:48] Aimee Trescothick: (Waits for mass stand up and sit down as people try it :P)
- [12:49] Gellan Glenelg: that would mean installing vista - I don't want to do that, thanks all the same ;P
- [12:49] Aric Linden: giggles
- [12:49] Aric Linden: I'm using a loaner vista box today
- [12:49] Aric Linden: it's teh suk
- [12:50] Aric Linden: i'd rather go back to sun os
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: hmmm
- [12:51] Aric Linden: let's import
- [12:51] Aric Linden: give to viewer
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:51] Aric Linden: they're going to love us today
- [12:51] Viridian Exonar: Umm.. hmm.. a different sit and stand.. wouldn't that be to the perference of the user? Then also wouldn't it have to depend on the AV itself? There's alot of variables..
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: I'd like to see the pose he's talking about
- [12:51] VanceC Spyker: thats why theres aos if u dont like it viridian
- [12:51] Aric Linden: actually, alexa, can you get the poseball?
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:52] Aric Linden: before import
- [12:52] Aric Linden: and it'll end up going to simulator
- [12:52] Aric Linden: yea for a change of pace
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: Gypsy Paz not online atm
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: I'll post a message for him to drop said ladder on me
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: next one from our Harleen
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: VWR-8112[c
- [12:53] Aimee Trescothick: ouch
- [12:53] Cummere Mayo: next up is harleens... *grins* and i noticed that too
- [12:53] Harleen Gretzky: :)
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: checks to see if all fields are filled out :P
- [12:53] Harleen Gretzky: lol
- [12:54] Cummere Mayo: votes for importing to the web monkeys and withholdign thier bannanas for a week!
- [12:54] Viridian Exonar: seconds that
- [12:54] Aric Linden: changing focus for a moment
- [12:55] Cummere Mayo: good screen btw harleen
- [12:55] Harleen Gretzky: ty
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: I think Harleen gets a gold sarts
- [12:56] Harleen Gretzky: sweet
- [12:57] Bridie Linden: !!
- [12:57] Cummere Mayo: I still vote no bannanas to the web monkeys for a week. two if they mess up the support portal again this week! I think harleen should get thier banannas *nods*
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: your'e a mean one Ms. Mayo
- [12:58] Cummere Mayo: never said i wasnt
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: I'll import this one
