- [14:01] Bambers Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda
- [14:02] Techwolf Lupindo: And figureing out the differences between maint-viewer and viewer_1-23 svn branch.
- [14:02] Bambers Linden: are we ready to roll?
- [14:02] Alexa Linden: nods
- [14:02] Moon Metty: yes
- [14:02] Latif Khalifa: viewer_1-23 has not been updated to public svn
- [14:02] Erinyse Planer: yeah sure
- [14:02] Zen Linden: we are ready to rock
- [14:03] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12395
- [14:03] Bambers Linden: Paid Classifieds are not showing up in the right frame in ALL search
- [14:03] Squirrel Wood: I greet ye all! Lindens and non Lindens alike!
- [14:04] Techwolf Lupindo: What svn branch is the RC in so I know I'me tesing the right branch.
- [14:04] Bambers Linden: Hi Squirrel
- [14:04] Alexa Linden: waves at Squirrel
- [14:04] Moon Metty: nuts!
- [14:04] Latif Khalifa: CG Linden has been lazy :P Techwolf currently there is no 1.23 in the public svn
- [14:05] Becky Pippen: gave you Becky Pippen.
- [14:05] Bambers Linden: Paid Classifieds seem slow to load
- [14:05] Bambers Linden: I have them now, but they were missing a moment ago
- [14:05] Erinyse Planer: yep and many are beeing improperly filtered
- [14:06] Erinyse Planer: a search for sexy shoes half the time triggers the mature or even the adult filter to lock it all out
- [14:06] Bambers Linden: ok
- [14:07] Erinyse Planer: which is one more reason to scrap the filters *shrugs*
- [14:07] Bambers Linden: that would be a seperate bug
- [14:07] Erinyse Planer: same bug if you read this bambers.
- [14:07] Erinyse Planer: originally it said hers werent showing up cause it was being filtered to mature
- [14:08] Bambers Linden: aah - gotcha
- [14:08] Squirrel Wood: improperly filtered.... the cause is keyword abuse.
- [14:08] Squirrel Wood: limit the number of keywords people are allowed to use and search results will instantly improve
- [14:08] Bambers Linden: we can file terminology bugs seperately too :) for now, we import this bug?
- [14:08] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:09] Erinyse Planer: yes
- [14:09] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: friendly greetings!
- [14:09] Bambers Linden: hi youri!
- [14:09] Bambers Linden: next up...
- [14:09] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6306
- [14:09] Bambers Linden: Cannot walk smoothly anymore... avi walks in place a few seconds then shoots forward several meters in jerky fashion
- [14:10] Moon Metty: rubberbanding ...
- [14:10] Moon Metty: simfreezes
- [14:10] Bambers Linden: yup
- [14:10] Squirrel Wood: Jeran your mike is open
- [14:10] Erinyse Planer: i think 12338 is a dupe of this
- [14:10] Jeran42 Claxton: :o
- [14:11] Latif Khalifa: 1.23 is crashy lol
- [14:11] Squirrel Wood: Mmmm. Lag ^^
- [14:11] Moon Metty: hi Dessie :)
- [14:11] Erinyse Planer: hello dessie
- [14:11] Bambers Linden: mark VWR-6306 as triaged, but what do we do with it?
- [14:11] Erinyse Planer: space oep beside me dessie
- [14:11] Dessie Linden: heya all!
- [14:12] Squirrel Wood: does it still happen ?
- [14:12] Bambers Linden: by the way everyone - agenda is here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda
- [14:12] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hey dessie :p
- [14:12] Morgaine Dinova: Isn't that just the general slowdown when 1.26 came in, even in empty sims? Coincided with vicinity chat lag becoming widespread too.
- [14:12] Bambers Linden: let's keep on topic and move through these bugs. we're up to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6306
- [14:12] Morgaine Dinova: Hi Dessie :-)
- [14:12] Erinyse Planer: import it please
- [14:12] Erinyse Planer: its still an issue
- [14:12] Moon Metty: mmm, 1.26 has less simfreezes than 1.25.6 in my experience
- [14:13] Dessie Linden: hey Morgaine
- [14:13] Alexa Linden: I've always had this in times of lag
- [14:13] Bambers Linden: me too - it doesn't sound viewer-specific anyway
- [14:13] Morgaine Dinova: Not freezes Moon, just general sluggishness even when empty. What we need are actual measurements though, not human perceptions.
- [14:13] Squirrel Wood: It happens when your connection is bad (packet loss!) or the sim is pretty busy
- [14:13] Alexa Linden: right
- [14:13] Alexa Linden: yup squirrel
- [14:14] Moon Metty: yes
- [14:14] Erinyse Planer: or jsut sims that stay busy even with low traffic
- [14:14] Alexa Linden: ya, script lag
- [14:14] Squirrel Wood: if you are on a satellite connection you will have to learn to live with it
- [14:14] Morgaine Dinova: Well that's why we need measurements, to decouple the various contributing factors.
- [14:14] Techwolf Lupindo: read the bug and takes notes on the setting.
- [14:15] Morgaine Dinova: What you can't measure, do don't actually know, even when you think you do.
- [14:15] Alexa Linden: yup
- [14:15] Erinyse Planer: i think we can probably also link https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12338 to this one as well bambers
- [14:15] Dessie Linden: well said, Morgaine!
- [14:15] Moon Metty: i can measure the duration of a simfreeze
- [14:16] Morgaine Dinova: Just the engineering view, hehe :-)
- [14:16] Alexa Linden: :)
- [14:16] Dessie Linden: ooops... sorry Moon, didn't realize I was sitting on you! lol
- [14:16] Erinyse Planer: and im pretty sure both are caused byu a combiantion of lag and overload
- [14:16] Morgaine Dinova: lol
- [14:16] Moon Metty: that's ok Dessie
- [14:16] Bambers Linden: link them and import? Is that what we're saying?
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: well it's over a year old
- [14:17] Erinyse Planer: thats my vote bambers
- [14:17] Dessie Linden: bunny fur... soft! ;o)
- [14:17] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: is the next release a little more stable for 64bit pc's? I am asking since my pc is one and I keep crashing
- [14:17] Techwolf Lupindo: Is this related to the "powerforward" with packet stalls from server then pops back into place when packet start flowing again?
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: and wasn't imported before
- [14:17] Moon Metty: Bambers, there are several issues that cause simfreezes
- [14:17] Bambers Linden: yes - import. Send to core?
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:17] Bambers Linden: next up
- [14:17] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12934
- [14:17] Bambers Linden: changing outfits can cuase other avitars to ghost for those on 1.23 PN
- [14:18] Moon Metty: ah, yes
- [14:18] Moon Metty: i was invisible today
- [14:18] Moon Metty: i added a comment
- [14:18] Zen Linden: hmm
- [14:18] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: yes, i noticed that. also unable to change clothes and attachements
- [14:18] Bambers Linden: does this already exist internally?
- [14:18] Gellan Glenelg: should "ghost" be removed from summary?
- [14:18] Zen Linden: i know seraph/vir were working on related stuff
- [14:18] Gellan Glenelg: it's not a "ghost avatar" they're describing
- [14:18] Moon Metty: oh, i added a comment to a different report
- [14:19] Zen Linden: I'd ask seraph/vir about it
- [14:19] Zen Linden: before importing
- [14:19] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:19] Bambers Linden: you want to do that alexa? Or me?
- [14:19] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I discovered another issue that is related
- [14:19] Alexa Linden: you can then ping me
- [14:20] Alexa Linden: and I can always tie together
- [14:20] Erinyse Planer: ok either way though this bug is annoying cuase you cant force other peoples avitars to rebake. only your own
- [14:20] Bambers Linden: cool
- [14:20] Moon Metty: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12906 is older?
- [14:20] Erinyse Planer: differant bug
- [14:20] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: when someone changed clothes or attachements, in some sims it will be unable for anyone in the sim to change themselfs and will be without clothes and in some cases disformed
- [14:21] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: suspect is however the server being buggy again :p
- [14:21] Morgaine Dinova: With so many settings in the viewer, it's easy to think you see a regression when actually it's just a parameter changed. Not sure if diffs on settings files will help though, could be noisy.
- [14:21] Moon Metty: no, this is 1.23
- [14:21] Erinyse Planer: moon the bug i reported if someone ELSE changes then their avitar becomes a ghost. the one you mentioned deforms your avitar if you change
- [14:21] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: but strange thing is, when you tp to other sims, then the problem is solved
- [14:22] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: tping back in the same sim, also no more problem
- [14:22] Squirrel Wood: tp causes a rebake methinks
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: yes - there're 2 bugs being discussed here
- [14:23] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: not just rebake, it s the attachements, body, skin, everything
- [14:23] Erinyse Planer: they might be related, but they are differant bugs i think
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: the one where YOUR avatar disappears or acts weird during appearance change is known
- [14:23] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: no, its all avi's in the sim
- [14:23] Erinyse Planer: yoruit thats a differant bug
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: this one reported by Cummere seems to be new I think
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: (right?)
- [14:24] Erinyse Planer: yes bambers
- [14:24] Moon Metty: Nyx saw me invisible as well, i had teleproted several times
- [14:24] Techwolf Lupindo: Where are the 1.23 Public Nightly, I've look on the download page....
- [14:24] Bambers Linden: so we should import
- [14:24] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: might be a minor problem that is solved in no time, could just aswell be a simple thing to fix
- [14:24] Erinyse Planer: yes please import
- [14:24] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:24] Squirrel Wood: public nightly builds are not on the download page
- [14:24] Dessie Linden: Are you a member of the BSI, Techwolf?
- [14:24] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12909
- [14:24] Bambers Linden: missing wind effect on linden plants
- [14:25] Techwolf Lupindo: I don't think so sence I don't reconze what BSI stands for.
- [14:25] Dessie Linden: only members of the BSI will normally have access to public nightly builds
- [14:25] Gellan Glenelg: techwolf, links are in the BSI email. If you're not a member, there's a kiosk at [1] to sign up
- [14:25] Bambers Linden: watered the plants with a solution of alka-seltzer and gas-ex
- [14:25] Techwolf Lupindo: Ok. Thanks for the info.
- [14:25] Dessie Linden: thanks, Gellan... you beat me to it :o)
- [14:26] Erinyse Planer: ive seen this too bambers
- [14:26] Alexa Linden: cannot create plants on this land.
- [14:26] Zen Linden: bambers: i remember runitai saying he was making trees static in some cases. This may be related to that, but I didn't know it was already in. I'd ask runitai about it
- [14:26] Entering god: mode, level 150
- [14:26] Gellan Glenelg: that's moving for me - on 1.22.11
- [14:26] Zen Linden: I CAN"T SEE!
- [14:26] Moon Metty: temporarily
- [14:27] Moon Metty: :D
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: ironically, that tree was very zen, yet zen was the one who felt uncomfortable
- [14:27] Moon Metty: (don't eat the yellow snow)
- [14:27] Zen Linden: :p
- [14:27] Techwolf Lupindo: :-)
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: it didn't sway for me
- [14:27] Alexa Linden: moving for me in 1.22.11
- [14:27] Techwolf Lupindo: The trees are swaying for me.
- [14:27] Erinyse Planer: not for me
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: looks like it needs importing
- [14:27] Moon Metty: not for me
- [14:27] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:27] Gellan Glenelg: +1
- [14:27] Zen Linden: aske runitai first
- [14:28] Bambers Linden: ok
- [14:28] Dessie Linden: feels sad that things don't sway for bambers
- [14:28] Dessie Linden: ;o)
- [14:28] Zen Linden: but... he'll have a much better frame rate
- [14:28] Moon Metty: lol
- [14:28] Erinyse Planer: offers to mollest dessie to make her feel better?
- [14:28] Morgaine Dinova: Techwolf, BSI isn't British Standards Institution in this context, it's Rob's Battery Street Irregulars :-)
- [14:29] Dessie Linden: hey... I have no swaying problems, it's bambers!
- [14:29] Dessie Linden: :oP
- [14:29] Bambers Linden: hmmm
- [14:29] Techwolf Lupindo: Swaying trees are going to be a challenge for me to mark later on. ;)
- [14:29] Bambers Linden: maybe it's platform specific?
- [14:29] Bambers Linden: lol techwolf
- [14:29] Erinyse Planer: ewww
- [14:29] Erinyse Planer: lol
- [14:30] Bambers Linden: ok, next
- [14:30] Erinyse Planer: thinks we need to make this office hour adult. but thinks pink ru on this and then depending on answer import
- [14:31] Dessie Linden: not Adult, but possibly Mature
- [14:31] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12338 - Freezing while Walking / Flying in straight line
- [14:31] Moon Metty: deja vu
- [14:31] Bambers Linden: we linked and dealt with this already, correct?
- [14:31] Alexa Linden: yup
- [14:31] Erinyse Planer: thts the one i said i think is tied to the other
- [14:31] Bambers Linden: thought so
- [14:31] Bambers Linden: and the next one
- [14:32] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12906
- [14:32] Bambers Linden: Changing outfits makes entire body, arms, hands of avatar disappear, makes face rezzing screwy
- [14:32] Moon Metty: ah, this is where i commented
- [14:32] Erinyse Planer: thats the one you said was already known.
- [14:32] Alexa Linden: dup again
- [14:32] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: that one sounds like a lagg problem
- [14:32] Bambers Linden: this is the known (although this has a good screen capture)
- [14:32] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i have it from time to time aswell
- [14:32] Alexa Linden: can you get me the internal bambers?
- [14:32] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: the walking one that is
- [14:34] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hmm... interresting problem
- [14:34] Erinyse Planer: well if this one is known internal i say link it then and move on?
- [14:34] Bambers Linden: ok alexa
- [14:34] Bambers Linden: yes erinyse
- [14:34] Alexa Linden: ty
- [14:34] Bambers Linden: ok, where are we
- [14:34] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: if you ask me,, think those people should update their videocard drivers
- [14:34] Alexa Linden: we were getting info Erinyse
- [14:34] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: think its that simple
- [14:34] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12904
- [14:35] Bambers Linden: The client can't be launched.
- [14:35] Moon Metty: houston, we have a problem
- [14:35] Erinyse Planer: i'ld almost say send them to support first
- [14:36] Techwolf Lupindo: I've notice when extra command arg are passed to the bin will crash if the extra args are unknow to the client.
- [14:36] Erinyse Planer: theres more info needed here, and i think support can help target what it is
- [14:37] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: its not the offical viewer, so it might be not ready for all systems yet
- [14:37] Bambers Linden: so it's the comma to decimal point switch that fails from the workaround
- [14:37] Erinyse Planer: possibly bambers but...
- [14:37] Bambers Linden: any other countries except France use a comma to denote a .
- [14:37] Erinyse Planer: im not willing to stake on that
- [14:37] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i think this person neds to get back on the official viewer and try that
- [14:38] Gellan Glenelg: most of europe use a comma, bambers (not uk tho)
- [14:38] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: pretty much all european countries yeah
- [14:38] Bambers Linden: thought so - because that would make it importable I reckon
- [14:38] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: I also have problems with non-official viewers, not all but most
- [14:39] Bambers Linden: but I admit I missed that this was not an official viewer
- [14:39] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: simply because the creators didnt work out all aspects of the viewer
- [14:39] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: good that i looked :p
- [14:39] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i didnt either at first tho :)
- [14:39] Bambers Linden: :D
- [14:39] Erinyse Planer: i might import then, but i would still also have them go to support, see if support can track it down
- [14:39] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: we only human, no worries :p
- [14:39] Bambers Linden: ask to repro using 1.23RC?
- [14:39] Erinyse Planer: wait what viewer is that then if its not the official one?
- [14:39] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:40] Dessie Linden: the last 1.22 RC
- [14:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: well, my idea is to let this user know to work with the official viewer
- [14:40] Bambers Linden: report against the correct viewer, that is
- [14:40] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: QUOTE: "C:\Program Files\SecondLifePublicNightly\SecondLifePublicNightly.exe"
- [14:40] Techwolf Lupindo: It looks like its 1.22.11 in the enviromnent, but is flagged PN/
- [14:40] Moon Metty: hrmmm, the difference between 1.22.11 RC and 1.22.11 is some voice issues?
- [14:41] Erinyse Planer: wouldnt that technically be an official viwer then? try upgrading if upgrade deosnt work, import and support?
- [14:41] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: nope
- [14:41] Dessie Linden: oops, sorry... based upon the build number is IS the final 1.22.11 viewer
- [14:41] Bambers Linden: <-- feels doubly dopey right now
- [14:41] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: offical one: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe"
- [14:41] Bambers Linden: O_o
- [14:41] Ellla McMahon: log is from 1.23.0 .. the environment is incorrect
- [14:42] Gellan Glenelg: affects version is 1.23; environment is 1.22.11. ask for clarification?
- [14:42] Dessie Linden: 1.22.11.113941 is the Official viewer, 1.22.11.113976 is the last RC viewer
- [14:42] Alexa Linden: I will ask for clarification
- [14:42] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: the one that worked on that version needs to fix the bugs
- [14:42] Erinyse Planer: im guessing they used the standard client then to get the environment
- [14:42] Erinyse Planer: since they cant get in 1.23
- [14:42] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i have a feeling this viewer isnt finished yet
- [14:42] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: explains alot
- [14:42] Erinyse Planer: kinda a common thing in jira
- [14:42] Gellan Glenelg: ellla's right - log is 1.23
- [14:43] Dessie Linden: also, there are no differences btwn the final 1.22 and the last 1.22 RC
- [14:43] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: most problems can be solved by a simple solution :)
- [14:43] Moon Metty: hmmm
- [14:43] Bambers Linden: yeah, presumably the viewer which worked was intended to get their SYSTEM environment info, not necessarily their SL version
- [14:43] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: dont always think to hard, just makes your brain hurt :p
- [14:43] Erinyse Planer: right. so 1.22.11 so i bet since they cant log in to get the envornment with 1.23 they did so with the 1.22
- [14:43] Bambers Linden: so
- [14:43] Bambers Linden: exactly Erynise - lets ask for more info, find out where the problem is?
- [14:44] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:44] Bambers Linden: Or import because we believe it's reproducible?
- [14:44] Bambers Linden: :) former it is
- [14:44] Bambers Linden: sorry alexa
- [14:44] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:44] Bambers Linden: neeeeeeext!!!
- [14:44] Techwolf Lupindo: make a note in the jira when one is reporting a bug not to put envorment info if can't start up and just put in there where they downloaed it.
- [14:44] Erinyse Planer: tech we still NEED that info
- [14:44] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12693
- [14:45] Bambers Linden: RelWithDebInfo build fails on MacOS due to the too large size of output
- [14:45] Zen Linden: uhhh... that's not an RC problem
- [14:45] Bambers Linden: techwolf - that would end up discouraging people from including valuable info
- [14:45] Techwolf Lupindo: I'me sujesting an improvment to the pjira system itself to help prevent this kind of confusion in the future.
- [14:45] Bambers Linden: better we deal with occasional confusion than we never get that field filled in
- [14:45] Alexa Linden: no we always want environment
- [14:45] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: my idea is that it isnt compatible yet with that specific system
- [14:46] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: just a lucky guess tho
- [14:46] Bambers Linden: zen - not an RC problem you say?
- [14:46] Bambers Linden: wades back to the topic
- [14:46] Erinyse Planer: apple os issue i think
- [14:46] Erinyse Planer: older mac os jsut cant handel the size of it it sounds like?
- [14:46] Zen Linden: It's an open source build problem
- [14:46] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: im not a mac fan, so never ever wanna use it either. so i can not answer or give a clear tip on this one
- [14:47] Zen Linden: we don't release RelWithDebugInfo viewers
- [14:47] Bambers Linden: ok - do we send to open source triage?
- [14:47] Zen Linden: yup
- [14:47] Bambers Linden: ok - alexa, if you would :)
- [14:47] Bambers Linden: next up:
- [14:47] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:47] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12908
- [14:47] Bambers Linden: Changing maturity settings via teleport dialog causes errors with preferences pane if open at same time.
- [14:48] Erinyse Planer: this one is a pita
- [14:48] Erinyse Planer: please import?
- [14:49] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hmm
- [14:49] Bambers Linden: I think we import this one - this looks like a good edge-case that's less edgier than we thought
- [14:49] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i think
- [14:49] Erinyse Planer: also related
- [14:49] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: did this user ever show he/she is 18 or older?
- [14:49] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:49] Erinyse Planer: if you ahve search and preferences open at the same time, the settings will revert
- [14:49] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: might be the problem
- [14:49] Erinyse Planer: and yes im adding the comment alexa :P
- [14:50] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i seen more people having this, asking if they have shown they were adult, they said no not yet
- [14:50] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: so might be related
- [14:50] Bambers Linden: please add that comment too
- [14:50] Techwolf Lupindo: this bug reminds me of the "Do you want to cancle the operateio?" With a "ok" and "cancel" button.
- [14:50] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: okay, i will
- [14:50] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: ill brb then :p
- [14:50] Morgaine Dinova: lol Tech
- [14:50] Bambers Linden: kk
- [14:51] Moon Metty: lol Tech
- [14:51] Bambers Linden: Better than "Press any key to continue. Press any other key to cancel"
- [14:51] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: euhm... same pass as the viewer?
- [14:51] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12899
- [14:51] Moon Metty: "press every key to continue"
- [14:51] Bambers Linden: 1.23 PN crash at login on vista x64
- [14:51] Bambers Linden: we look at this already? Related to our comma bug?
- [14:51] Harleen Gretzky: Ended up being more than vista x64
- [14:52] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i got the same problem
- [14:52] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: the viewer crahes either during login or during the game
- [14:52] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: hard to explain what the problem is tho
- [14:52] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: i have a feeling its in the scripting somewhere
- [14:52] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: asin not yet fully 64bit adapted
- [14:52] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: might cause a bug
- [14:53] Bambers Linden: hmmm
- [14:53] Erinyse Planer: i havent been to a windows vista yet to try
- [14:53] Harleen Gretzky: From the comments workaround of VWR-12161 fixes this also
- [14:53] Erinyse Planer: probably related then
- [14:53] Bambers Linden: looks like a parent to this is already in our system
- [14:54] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12161
- [14:54] Bambers Linden: 1.23 Trunk: avatar_skeleton.xml cannot be parsed
- [14:55] Bambers Linden: what do we do with this one then?
- [14:55] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton accepted your inventory offer.
- [14:55] Gellan Glenelg: import, relate to existing one?
- [14:55] Alexa Linden: good idea
- [14:55] Bambers Linden: mark as triaged? or import and link to existing internal?
- [14:55] Bambers Linden: d'oh - gellan beat me
- [14:55] Moon Metty: :)
- [14:56] Bambers Linden: ok, import and link.
- [14:56] Bambers Linden: next - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12914
- [14:56] Bambers Linden: SL hangs quite often when doing a snapshot
- [14:57] Erinyse Planer: pretty sure this is a dupe of many.
- [14:57] Erinyse Planer: like 110 percent sure
- [14:57] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: that skeleton issue, i like to know more about the user's system. i have a feeling why its not working propperly
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: youri - we can comment asking for more sys info. Importing doesn't kill the pjira
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: if anything it gets looked at more
- [14:58] Gellan Glenelg: hmm. "SL doesnt come back but hangs for very long (20-30 seconds?) ". do they mean "does"?
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: yeah - I'd guess they originally wrote "doesn't crash"
- [14:59] Morgaine Dinova: Testing snapshots
- [14:59] Alexa Linden: smiles
- [14:59] Erinyse Planer: ive had freezes with sanpshots
- [14:59] Bambers Linden: watches Morgaine for hanging behaviour
- [14:59] Alexa Linden: Cheese!
- [14:59] Moon Metty: "cheese"
- [14:59] Erinyse Planer: and they do get progressively longer freezes
- [14:59] Moon Metty: gorgonzola
- [14:59] Alexa Linden: mmmmm
- [14:59] Bambers Linden: Erinyse - HD snapshots?
- [14:59] Opensource Obscure: i'd suggest using a slightly lower jpg quality (90-95%) - difference in quality is minimum
- [14:59] Moon Metty: my snapshot is smooth, but my resolution may be lower
- [15:00] Opensource Obscure: and report again.
- [15:00] Bambers Linden: anything like that, out of the ordinary?
- [15:00] Erinyse Planer: hd and mid def
- [15:00] Techwolf Lupindo: On my high end system, doing snapshot can pause the viewer for seconds at a time waiting for the diage to popup. then afterwareds, will pause the viewer for seconds at a time. On normal and low end system, this could be upto a minutes.
- [15:00] Alexa Linden: good suggestion Opensource
- [15:00] Erinyse Planer: exactly tech
- [15:00] Alexa Linden: I hang up on high res even on the main viewer
- [15:00] Morgaine Dinova: 3 seconds here, at 1920x1200
- [15:00] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: even with my pc, which is a gamer pc, i need to wait pretty long, up to 10 seconds. i have a feeling it is the size of the picture. it needs to collect its data, send it and finish the job in saving. that could take a bit of time
- [15:00] Bambers Linden: yeah opensource - it can take a few seconds - this actually sounds like either expected behaviour, or new slower snapshot behaviour
- [15:01] Erinyse Planer: and each freeze gets longer. if im doing a bunch like 10 i eventaully get disconeected
- [15:01] Bambers Linden: TIME!!!!!!!
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: same for me in reg viewer with same setting
- [15:01] Bambers Linden: that was the last
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: about 3 seconds
- [15:01] Erinyse Planer: cause the first time it will be a few second, the secong will be a few seconds longer
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: woohoo
- [15:01] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: lol, okay :)
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: dance party!
- [15:01] Erinyse Planer: ild say import this
- [15:01] Erinyse Planer: lol alexa
- [15:01] Opensource Obscure: btw about 43 sec here 1600x1200 at 100% quality (linux)
- [15:01] Moon Metty: ok Bambers :)
- [15:02] Opensource Obscure: oops. 3 sec, not 43
- [15:02] Bambers Linden: is it worth importing this last one? Or redo the test at a lower resolution, and lower jpg quality?
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: k
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: QA and test
- [15:02] Erinyse Planer: what alexa said
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: thanks all!
- [15:02] Moon Metty: thank you too :)
- [15:02] Alexa Lindenri: Ashton: thanks lindens!
- [15:02] Bambers Linden: thanks everyone!
