In other words: it needs a {{Wikipedia|Help:Template|template}}, clearly defining each field:
* Estate Management Company (short name or well-known acronym)
* ditto, but full company name (especially when it differs, on cases where the acronym became better known than the official name)
* Short description of the estate (1 paragraph)
* Checkboxes for:
** Offers: Full region, Full region augmented, Homestead, Parcels (possibly listing most typical size, if any)
** Covenant: Themed (loose), Themed (strict), Role-playing (possibly with ''type'' as an option) — eventually with a link to the Covenant, if it exists (and is publicly accessible outside of SL)
** Maturity, i.e. General/Moderate/Adult
* Link to website (if existing; possibly with a field with 'date of last access')
* SLURL (in the contemporary format, whatever it might be ''today'')
* SL avatar name(s) to contact for more information (optionally with link to their my.secondlife.com profile, especially in the case of frequently-changed Display Names)
* Other forms of contact (e.g. email, phone)
* Link(s) to social page(s) where more information can be found and/or more contacts (Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram...)
* Optionally: a help page explaining how to use the template!
* Optionally: a list of historic estates, for which ''some'' information still exists somewhere, but which are not active in SL any longer
And then, of course, everything has to be checked ''again'' to see what is current and what has disappeared long ago.

On the other hand, why this page? This seems inappropriate for the official wiki.

Too many to list here.. --Nexii Malthus 09:34, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

This is a cool idea if organized and maintained regularly — unofficial info is welcome here as long as it's (1) practically beneficial to the Second Life community and (2) disclaimed as such. (Official pages are usually called out, too.) So far this meets the criteria and I look forward to seeing it evolve. - Torley-favicon.png on 2010-04-13 @ 11:46 AM Pacific
I just removed all self-praises and marketing slogans, while leaving all informative details. I think the list is more useful this way. Definitely needs a full rewrite at some point...

In other words: it needs a "Wikipedia logo"template, clearly defining each field:

  • Estate Management Company (short name or well-known acronym)
  • ditto, but full company name (especially when it differs, on cases where the acronym became better known than the official name)
  • Short description of the estate (1 paragraph)
  • Checkboxes for:
    • Offers: Full region, Full region augmented, Homestead, Parcels (possibly listing most typical size, if any)
    • Covenant: Themed (loose), Themed (strict), Role-playing (possibly with type as an option) — eventually with a link to the Covenant, if it exists (and is publicly accessible outside of SL)
    • Maturity, i.e. General/Moderate/Adult
  • Link to website (if existing; possibly with a field with 'date of last access')
  • SLURL (in the contemporary format, whatever it might be today)
  • SL avatar name(s) to contact for more information (optionally with link to their my.secondlife.com profile, especially in the case of frequently-changed Display Names)
  • Other forms of contact (e.g. email, phone)
  • Link(s) to social page(s) where more information can be found and/or more contacts (Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram...)
  • Optionally: a help page explaining how to use the template!
  • Optionally: a list of historic estates, for which some information still exists somewhere, but which are not active in SL any longer

And then, of course, everything has to be checked again to see what is current and what has disappeared long ago.
