Hi Char- rather than blanking the pages, could you use your sysop perms to delete the page ?
Blanking the article unfortunately does not remove the article from the wiki, so unless there is some need to keep the article history around, deletion is usually preferred.

:Why are you removing the pages of (past?) Lindens? Wouldn't it be better to update them to say they are no longer Lindens? The pages may contain information that is of historic interest to future generations. Deleting content should be reserved for situations where the content is objectionable, or libel (or other legal reason). I can understand not wanting to confuse users with bad content but this comes off more like corporate politics. Using the wiki to forward corporate politics undermines any semblance of the impartiality of LL and devalues the contributions of the users. Manipulation of communally owned information for personal/corporate gain is largely viewed as unethical. It is counter productive to community building. This is a little thing, a minor thing, like a rain drop. Keep in mind, floods are made of rain drops. -- Strife <small>(talk|contribs)</small> 16:28, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
:p.s. At the very least, give a detailed reason for deleting content. If the community does not understand, some will assume the worst; which turns into a PR problem.
:: I must add my voice to the above questioning of your decision to remove Linden user pages. It struck me as odd when I saw the edits in "recent changes". Just because a Linden leaves the Lab their work doesn't leave the world. There are many Lindens who's contributions are so ingrained in the fabric of the world removing their pages would be like chiseling hieroglyphs from the side of monuments (We knew they were here but who were they?). -- Fred Gandt <small>(talk|contribs)</small> 19:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
