- [15:04] Gooden Uggla: that's "leroy jenkins battle cry", i believe
- [15:04] Talia Malaspina: If is the same sound spam that's been there a week, it's a buncha little cubes.
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: anyways
- [15:04] WolfPup LowenharWolfPup Lowenhar wonders if he sould han out copies od his shades

- [15:04] Lyrical Popstar: Maestro... good name for a linden in charge of sl music happenings. hehe
- [15:05] Motor Loon: really? this many Linden here and we cant get rid of a little soundspam °͜°
- [15:05] Conover's Flight-Helper 6.3.3 (WEAR ME!): Flight-helper is ready and operational.
- [15:05] WolfPup Lowenhar: it is on the sim next dore
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: I can't hear the sound spam

- [15:05] Moy Loon: I don't hear it either
- [15:05] Gooden Uggla: it's there, self-replpicating soundcubes
- [15:05] Talia Malaspina: I muted it a week ago. Nobody's been around for me to even tell.
- [15:05] Motor Loon: I cant her it if I turn my sound off... but really °͜°
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: is that a mesh av Talia?
- [15:05] Gooden Uggla: LDPW parcel, you need a mole
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: very well done
- [15:06] Talia Malaspina: Yes. Thank you. :)
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: did you make it?
- [15:06] Talia Malaspina: Yes. Well, sort of. Phoenix export, then some blender slight of hand.
- [15:07] Lyrical Popstar: cool :D
- [15:07] Homeless: I crashed.... bak
- [15:07] Rex Cronon: wb
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: ok so let's start with SVC-7283
- [15:07] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7283] llRemoteLoadScriptPin and llGiveInventory fail when installing non-full perm items into worn attachments https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7283
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: this was an unfortunate situation
- [15:07] Gooden Uggla: brutal
- [15:07] Coyot Linden: got some people in a....
- [15:07] Coyot Linden: bind
- [15:07] Motor Loon: did seem to cause some problems here and there
- [15:08] Moy Loon: Wasn't there a bug similar to that, years ago?
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: our RC process is a very solid process
- [15:08] Flip Idlemind: That also applies to editing/saving scripts in non-full-perm attachments (I think)
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: but it does not accomodate security fixes very well
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: we can't really have SEC- fixes in an RC for 3 weeks because people will realize we are fixing those issues
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: so we need to release things faster and without warning
- [15:09] Flip Idlemind: Didn't affect me too much. Work around is just rez the attachment, edit the script, and take it. But I don't deal with any auto-updating stuff :/
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: unfortunately in this case we caused another bug
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: this puts us in an awkward position because we can't really roll back the fix
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: and we don't want to shove another fix out hastily
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: we have long sometimes heated discussions internally about how to proceed
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: in this case we decided to put the fix on an RC next week and offer to move affected regions to the fixed RC
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: then we can give that RC priority the next week
- [15:11] Motor LoonMotor Loon stuffs a few bills in Talia's g-string
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: it's not a perfect solution and we apologize for the bug getting out
- [15:11] Talia MalaspinaTalia Malaspina eeps.
- [15:11] Talia Malaspina: heehe!
- [15:11] Talia Malaspina: What g-string?
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: calm down moy
- [15:11] Talia Malaspina: I should make out out of bailing wire and sheet metal.
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: good thing talia isn't wearing pink hair
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: or I might need to muzzle moy
- [15:12] Talia Malaspina: heehe!
- [15:12] Moy Loon: My muzzle is missing from database anyways
- [15:12] Homeless: Is there a way to de-render an av in viewer 3?
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: any questions about svc-7283?
- [15:12] Motor Loon: training for a marathon eh?
- [15:12] Lucia Nightfire: if moy stopped moving around our equilibrium would go haywire
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: block them homeless
- [15:12] Flip Idlemind: Is it possible that, even if the RC with the fix isn't picked for promotion, the fix itself could be promoted?
- [15:12] Flip Idlemind: Or can the process not work that way
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: it doesn't work that way
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: but... we have a side plan
- [15:13] WolfPup Lowenhar: i was thinging of drawing a 100$L bill across one of the creases till it 'stuck :p
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: we'll put the fix in each RC
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: that comes with some risk
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: but will ensure the fix makes it out
- [15:13] Homeless: block works like a charm...
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: uh oh. Talia I told you NOT to wear pink hair
- [15:14] Talia Malaspina: heehe!
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: so let's move on to updates for the week
- [15:14] Lucia Nightfire: cast ray
- [15:14] Lucia Nightfire: heh
- [15:14] Moy Loon: :(
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: LeTigre got promoted as expected
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: with fixes for SVC-7169 and SVC-7192 and SCR-162
- [15:15] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7169] Folders are Texture Category Folders https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-162
- [15:15] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7192] llSetMemoryLimit - Wrong amount being reserved for memory/Display inconsistance with OBJECT_SCRIPT_MEMORY https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-162
- [15:15] Flame of Jira: [#SCR-162] Bounds error when calling PRIM_LINK_TARGET in a child prim https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-162
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: as well as some server crashes
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel got a mesh maint-server
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: maestro do you want to talk about the fixes that went into there?
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: it's a lot
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: someone poke maestro
- [15:17] Motor LoonMotor Loon pokes Maestro
- [15:17] Motor Loon: ..with a stick
- [15:17] Gooden UgglaGooden Uggla looks for his 10-foot pole
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: heh
- [15:17] HomelessHomeless drops 16 ton weight on Maestro
- [15:17] Homeless: that should wake him up lol
- [15:17] WolfPup LowenharWolfPup Lowenhar looks for his AK
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: maestro. oh maestro?!
- [15:17] Talia MalaspinaTalia Malaspina eeps.
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: oh well
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: perhaps he can enlighten us later
- [15:18] Motor Loon: pee - break I guess
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: must be
- [15:18] Lyrical Popstar: lol
- [15:18] Maestro Linden: oops, sorry
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: there he is
- [15:18] Lucia Nightfire: I see movement
- [15:18] Maestro LindenMaestro Linden was looking at a Jira
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: welcome back maestro
- [15:18] Motor Loon: Talia has greifer potential °͜°
- [15:18] Serenity RosencransSerenity Rosencrans blinks
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: what a rockstar. reading jira while in a meeting
- [15:18] Coyot Linden: He's was in the Little Lindens Room
- [15:18] Maestro Linden: alright, so
- [15:18] Serenity Rosencrans: what did I stumble into
- [15:18] Maestro Linden: that maint-server..
- [15:18] Lyrical Popstar: hahaha
- [15:18] Flip Idlemind: "Looking at a JIRA" is what they're calling it these days
- [15:18] Maestro Linden: it has some new candy
- [15:18] Lyrical Popstar: the little lindens room :P
- [15:18] Talia Malaspina: Noooo!
- [15:19] Talia Malaspina: They said poke. I poked. heehe
- [15:19] Maestro Linden: Add function to report object mass in kg, llGetMassMKS()
- [15:19] Gooden Uggla: he reads JIRA's while sitting on the can? how fitting...
- [15:19] Rex Cronon: if even the lindens can get lost in jiras, how about the rest of us:)
- [15:19] Motor Loon: lol
- [15:19] Lucia Nightfire: soemthing to wipe with huh
- [15:19] Motor Loon: omg
- [15:19] Maestro Linden: PRIM_PHYSICS_SHAPE_TYPE for llSLPP and friends
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: we print off the better ones :-p
- [15:19] Gooden Uggla: mhmm
- [15:19] Motor Loon: YAAY!
- [15:19] Motor Loon: shape type... need it now... yesterdaqy
- [15:20] Maestro Linden: and llGetPhysicsMaterial() / llSetPhysicsMaterial()
- [15:20] Maestro Linden: which lets you set the friction/gravity/restitution/density of an object
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: and of course llCastRay() is enabled
- [15:20] Maestro Linden: yeah
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: makes moy jump for joy
- [15:20] Moy Loon: No
- [15:20] Moy Loon: The current llCastRay is a disapointment
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: Moy "CastRay" Loon
- [15:20] Fancy Greeter: Coyot Linden has arrived!
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: Moy "Never Happy" Loon
- [15:20] Moy Loon: 18 months of waiting for a big fat ":("
- [15:20] Coyot Linden: llCastRay ==> no more little lindens. :(
- [15:21] ac14 Hutson: better then what we had D:
- [15:21] Motor Loon: certainly is
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: you can chew out Falcon when he arrives
- [15:21] Maestro Linden: Also there are some bugfixes..
- [15:21] Moy Loon: I've been talking to him latley
- [15:21] Maestro Linden: SVC-34, SCR-53
- [15:21] Flame of Jira: [#SCR-53] llSensorRepeat not triggering no_sensor unless a sensor event handler is present https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-53
- [15:21] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-34] Right-clicking another Resident's moving object freezes it https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-53
- [15:21] Maestro Linden: SVC-6970
- [15:21] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-6970] CLONE - Object losing permissions when some prims are unlinked https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6970
- [15:21] ac14 Hutson: big applause for finally fixing svc-34 :D
- [15:21] Motor Loon: oh the move-freeze thing is a God fix...
- [15:21] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-34] Right-clicking another Resident's moving object freezes it https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-34
- [15:21] ac14 Hutson: :D
- [15:22] Motor Loon: been wanting that for years and yearrs
- [15:22] Flip Idlemind: Is llCastRay enabled in the sim we're currently in (I guess I could check, but it's easier to ask)
- [15:22] Fancy Greeter: Falcon Linden has arrived!
- [15:22] Popgun llCastRay whispers: Use Mouselook (press 'M') to shoot me.
- [15:22] Popgun llCastRay whispers: Choose 'Detach' from my menu to take me off.
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: since we're talking about cast ray
- [15:22] Maestro Linden: nope not in this sim
- [15:22] Motor Loon: ey Falcon
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: here is falcon
- [15:22] Flip Idlemind: Okie dokie
- [15:22] Coyot Linden: shhhh! everyone stop talking about falcon!
- [15:22] Serenity Rosencrans: oh well back to testing that permission fix... *waves to everyone*
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: if you hate cast ray let him know now
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: or if you love it
- [15:22] Moy Loon: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-199
- [15:22] Flame of Jira: [#SCR-199] Reduction/removal of llCastRay limitations https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-199
- [15:23] Motor Loon: I love Falcon
- [15:23] Rex Cronon: bye
- [15:23] Gooden Uggla: there's an old event handler bug that SVC-34 might be related to
- [15:23] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-34] Right-clicking another Resident's moving object freezes it https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-34
- [15:23] Maestro Linden: there was a new bug about that today SVC-7289
- [15:23] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7289] llCastRay() returns RCERR_CAST_TIME_EXCEEDED on small parcels. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7289
- [15:23] Maestro Linden: which is a pretty valid concern
- [15:23] Falcon Linden: I'll be discussing with Kelly ways we might reduce the restrictions on raycasts
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: that's why we test falcons code for so many months
- [15:24] Moy Loon: Let the normal script throttling handle the throttling of raycasting ;)
- [15:24] Rex Cronon: is like child. takes months to deliver it:)
- [15:24] Falcon Linden: Moy: Yes, yes, I know what /you/ want :)
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: me too
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: make moy happy
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: makes me happy
- [15:24] Moy Loon: I can't think of any reason to add in extra limits!
- [15:25] Moy Loon: If I want to grief, or lag a sim, why would I use a cheap function like llRayCast?
- [15:25] Script Counter:
Total Avatar Scripts - 1250 Highest - Jacky Scharf: 234 (19%) Lowest - canobu Almodovar: 0 (0%)
- [15:25] Falcon Linden: I know you can't. If you could, you probably wouldn't be suggesting their elimination (I do stress the word 'probably', however)
- [15:25] Moy Loon: It's easier to make physical tori, or rez lots of things, or send in malformed packets to a sim!
- [15:25] Falcon Linden: One person's griefing is another's combat sim
- [15:25] Falcon Linden: :)
- [15:25] Motor Loon: Word
- [15:25] Falcon Linden: Anyhow, I'm here to make an announcementy sort of thingamajig
- [15:25] Motor Loon: uuh
- [15:25] Rex Cronon: bad packets and combat sims don't go well together:(
- [15:25] Homeless: drum roll....
- [15:26] Falcon Linden: I've been playing around with a new LSL method: llSetKeyframedAnimation()
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: uh oh
- [15:26] Motor LoonMotor Loon holds breath
- [15:26] Falcon Linden: that would let you move, in a smooth and controlled fashion, nonphysical linksets
- [15:26] Motor Loon: wow
- [15:26] Motor Loon: damn
- [15:26] Falcon Linden: for example elevators, doors, trains that follow tracks, etc
- [15:26] Motor Loon: awesome idea!!!
- [15:26] Coyot Linden: up down up down up down up down
- [15:26] Coyot Linden: uh-huh
- [15:26] Falcon Linden: The proposal and rough documentation are here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetKeyframedAnimation
- [15:26] Motor Loon: I'd LOVE that
- [15:27] ac14 Hutson: -coughs- you would ahve it sit on that stuff for it to work. or else it would jsut go thoguh you i assmue
- [15:27] Falcon Linden: I've put the feature on two regions on Aditi and they worked. Then I broke them. So right now they don't work.
- [15:27] Moy Loon: Will there be a 15.5 us limit on that too? ;)
- [15:27] Falcon Linden: Nope, you could stand on it
- [15:27] Rex Cronon: how long until we can play with it?
- [15:27] Moy Loon: 12.5*
- [15:27] Falcon Linden: Moy: no limits except that it must use the new prim equivalency system and be under 64 physics weight :)
- [15:27] Motor Loon: how would it obtain permissions to move you?
- [15:27] Falcon Linden: You just stand on it
- [15:27] Motor Loon: by collission?
- [15:27] Falcon Linden: yup
- [15:27] Motor Loon: NIIICE
- [15:28] Falcon Linden: it will move any physical object it collides with but will go right through any nonphysical or keyframed object it collides with
- [15:28] Motor Loon: fucking awesome Falcon
- [15:28] Falcon Linden: Hopefully you can play by the end of today. Depends on how long it takes to unbreak it :)
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: 18 months
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: :-D
- [15:28] Lucia Nightfire: so now you can stand in your ship while its moving, heh
- [15:28] Falcon Linden: I'll post to the Talk page when it's ready
- [15:28] Falcon Linden: Lucia: yep.
- [15:28] Falcon Linden: I will admit there are still animation issues for the av
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: cool stuff falcon
- [15:28] WolfPup Lowenhar: that nearly looks like some thing 'pupetiers would use for animation
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: is it brony compatible?
- [15:29] Falcon Linden: Wolfpup: no, you can only animate whole linksets
- [15:29] Homeless: what happens when you walk?
- [15:29] Falcon Linden: You'll be walking on a moving object
- [15:29] Falcon Linden: just like it should
- [15:29] Falcon Linden: Those animation issues won't be fixed as part of the release, but hopefully we can fix them soon.
- [15:29] Homeless: that should make for a nice effect
- [15:29] Falcon Linden: for example, if you stand on a keyframed elevator that's going down, you get a really nasty scrunched up pose
- [15:29] Falcon Linden: and you tend to shuffle when a moving platform is carrying you along
- [15:29] Motor Loon: yep
- [15:30] Moy Loon: That happens with current physical things anyways
- [15:30] Falcon Linden: exactly
- [15:30] Falcon Linden: which is why I'm punting on fixing it until I have a little more free time
- [15:30] Moy Loon: It's client interpolation doing a lot of it
- [15:30] Falcon Linden: No, actually it's the server telling the viewer to use the wrong animation
- [15:31] Falcon Linden: the server determines what animation should be played based on the physics engine. It just does it wrong.
- [15:31] Falcon Linden: I think the logic at the time was not to fix it since you couldn't /make/ moving platforms, etc
- [15:31] Rex Cronon: hmm. u could actually simulate an ave throwing a fire/energy ball:)
- [15:32] Falcon Linden: yep. The animation probably won't match correctly, but yep ;)
- [15:32] Falcon Linden: I mean, the throw/cast animation
- [15:32] WolfPup LowenharWolfPup Lowenhar wonders if Talia has though about adjusting any of her AV's physics
- [15:32] Homeless: If the platform was moved up fast and suddenly stopped, would any phys objects or av's get launched?
- [15:33] Motor Loon: like a catapult?
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: a transparent Talia av with highlights on the triangle lines would look [retty sweet
- [15:33] Homeless: yes
- [15:33] Falcon Linden: good question. Yes, I think so.
- [15:33] Motor Loon: Interesting
- [15:33] Motor Loon: Guess we need a roof for our elevators then °͜°
- [15:33] Lucia Nightfire: we want peopel we're orbiting to look correct when flying into teh sky
- [15:33] Talia Malaspina: I don't thin transparent and shine work together.
- [15:33] Falcon Linden: Lucia: I plan to clamp maximum velocity :)
- [15:34] Lucia Nightfire: again?
- [15:34] Lucia Nightfire: lol
- [15:34] Falcon Linden: Motor: your elevators shouldn't need to move that fast
- [15:34] Falcon Linden: I got perfectly good movement with very reasonable velocities
- [15:34] Motor Loon: Never build an elevator °͜°
- [15:34] Rex Cronon: come on. don't clam max vel for when avatars r pushed by the scripts they own
- [15:34] WolfPup Lowenhar: hey falcon if you want some help with that i bet i could come up with some interesting test objects
- [15:34] Homeless: an express elevator for a 1000m building would need to be fast
- [15:34] Talia Malaspina: What control do we have over physics with a mesh avatar?
- [15:35] ac14 Hutson: around 60mph
- [15:35] Moy Loon: A max under the current 200m?
- [15:35] Falcon Linden: Moy: no, probably just the current 200m/2
- [15:35] Falcon Linden: Talia: I don't think av physics works on mesh avs
- [15:35] Talia Malaspina: Neither do I.
- [15:35] Falcon Linden: Okay, I'm gonna get back to fixing the animation
- [15:35] Falcon Linden: I'll post to the talk page when it's ready
- [15:35] Motor Loon: Good work Falcon
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: thanks Falcon!
- [15:36] Motor LoonMotor Loon pads bald head
- [15:36] Falcon Linden: please submit bugs under SVC and be sure to mention llSetKeyframedAnimation in the subject
- [15:36] Homeless: thankx Falcon
- [15:36] WolfPup Lowenhar: Talia add an av physics object then you can adjust the different physical aspects
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: anything else befor eyou go falcon?
- [15:36] Falcon Linden: Nope, just that!
- [15:36] Talia Malaspina: I can? With mesh?
- [15:36] Maestro Linden: hmm, I think butt bounce worked with my mesh pants..
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: and falcon is out
- [15:36] Pauline Darkfury: If the elevator could launch someone, it wouldn't need to go all the way, just 20% of the height very fast, let momentum do the rest ;)
- [15:37] Coyot Linden: folks, sorry I gotta bail too
- [15:37] Rex Cronon: tc
- [15:37] Motor Loon: feeding time eh?
- [15:37] Talia Malaspina: Bye leavers. heehe
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: cya coyot
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: alright. on with the agenda
- [15:37] Talia Malaspina: I don't see any physics in my mesh after addig a physics object. Ohwell.
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: llCastRay is also enabled in LeTigre
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: LeTigre is another maint-server
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: with a LOT of fixes
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: too many to list
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: all are here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/11#11.09.09.240509
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: oh wait
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: I'm getting confused
- [15:39] Flip Idlemind: I feel like we've been talking about LeTigre
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: oh I see what happened
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: we were
- [15:39] WolfPup Lowenhar: Talia on the 'clothing right click and slect new clothing>new physics
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: Maestro. what's in BlueSteel? :-D
- [15:39] Flip Idlemind: Mystery solved
- [15:39] WolfPup Lowenhar: and then wear that
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: both BS and LT have castray enabled
- [15:39] Talia Malaspina: Wolfpup, I am wearing a physics object that I know works nicely. Thank you.
- [15:40] Talia Malaspina: It has no affect on mesh.
- [15:40] Lucia Nightfire: SVC-7289
- [15:40] WolfPup Lowenhar: then that is some thing that might need to be looked into
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: the BlueSteel mesh changes are...
- [15:40] Rex Cronon: on main grid we can test cast ray on BS and LT? or just here?
- [15:41] Moy Loon: It's on the maingrid
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: any minute now
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: bringing up my docs
- [15:41] Moy Loon: But there's really tough restrictions on it
- [15:41] Lucia Nightfire: I agree with maestro on the solution to allow the pool to go to negatives at least
- [15:41] Rex Cronon: ok
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: negative pool?
- [15:41] Lucia Nightfire: the restrictios are still a shame, but I'm working with what was given
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: the nets are letting me down
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: so slow for me today
- [15:42] Lucia Nightfire: Oskar: SVC-7289
- [15:42] Lucia Nightfire: wheres that flame of jira, heh
- [15:42] Talia Malaspina: Maybe the high water extinguished it.
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: I don't know what all is in BlueSteel
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: not sure what happened to the flame of jira
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: someone here killed it
- [15:43] Motor Loon: "Mesh Bugs"
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: i bet it's that whale
- [15:43] Motor Loon: my whale is verry well behaved
- [15:43] Flip Idlemind: SVC-7289 "llCastRay() returns RCERR_CAST_TIME_EXCEEDED on small parcels."
- [15:44] Flip Idlemind: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7289
- [15:44] Talia Malaspina: I've heard guys say that before, Motor.
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: :-p
- [15:44] Lyrical Popstar: i have a jira that i have a question about, but i'm not sure this is the right meeting for it
- [15:44] Flip Idlemind: Only 1 way to find out
- [15:44] Lyrical Popstar: there is a lot of frustration in the community regarding no longer having last names, and having usernames instead. I asked this at an earlier meeting and was pointed to this meeting by another Linden. He said that if this wasn't the correct meeting, hopefully you guys could point me in the right direction. There is a jira about this that has been getting a lot of resident feedback, but no LL feedback, so we're wondering where that issue currently stands.
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: anyways. the mesh maint-server bug fixes involved some PE tweaks and parcel rezzing and returning issues
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: sorry lyrical. there is no right place.
- [15:45] Motor Loon: not sure theres a "right" meeting forthat °͜°
- [15:45] Motor Loon: haha
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: I don't see the company modifying the naming anytime soon
- [15:45] Lyrical Popstar: well what do we do?
- [15:45] Lyrical Popstar: really? :(
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: I don't know.
- [15:45] Marigold Devin: We grumble on the SL forums constantly, Lyrical :-((
- [15:45] Marigold Devin: We grief Lexie at her meetings
- [15:45] Moy Loon: Use display names
- [15:45] Nalates Urriah: There are web sites that allow first and last name sign up for SL.
- [15:46] Lyrical Popstar: they've been turned off, nalates
- [15:46] Marigold Devin: Slim pickens' Nalates.
- [15:46] Motor LoonMotor Loon never ever turned displaynames on on his viewers
- [15:46] Marigold Devin: The one I got two new names from switched off now.
- [15:46] Talia Malaspina: There are??
- [15:46] Lyrical Popstar: most residents hate usernames with a passion
- [15:46] Nalates Urriah: True, but one works with what they have.
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: this meeting is more focused on upcoming features and finding bugs
- [15:46] Moy Loon: > 95% enjoy display names though!
- [15:46] Homeless: not me they're great!
- [15:46] Marigold Devin: I'd say 50% love 'em, 50% hate 'em. Display Names are like Marmite
- [15:46] ac14 Hutson: all names are in the format first.last anyway so just use first.last when you sine up. crisis averted!
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: I understand Lyrical. I have no say in the matter though
- [15:46] ac14 Hutson: sign*
- [15:46] Lyrical Popstar: who does?? :P
- [15:46] Moy Loon: Atleast 80% of the people I see have display names of their own
- [15:46] Marigold Devin: So forums to rant about this issue I think for now Lyrical
- [15:46] Lyrical Popstar: cause i'll give them my kidney if they want it
- [15:47] Flip Idlemind: I used to hate the no last name / username / display name thing, but I've since gotten over it
- [15:47] Motor Loon: cant please everyone, we'll live with it
- [15:47] Oskar Linden: until someone higher up than I decides they want lastnames back we'll have to use the system we have
- [15:47] Gooden Uggla: until all the older named accounts are inactive, the last name "resident" will mean "n00b"
- [15:47] Lucia Nightfire: I think the frustration is mainly the lack of "creative" naming of yore, heh
- [15:48] Motor Loon: aww Oskar... nobody is higher up that you and you know it
- [15:48] Marigold Devin: Yessss, Gooden, it seems so.
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: quite a few are actually
- [15:48] Lyrical Popstar: ask whoever it is if they want my kidney
- [15:48] Motor Loon: they just think they are
- [15:48] Marigold Devin: Quite a few "residents" are new??
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: I don't know where to send you Lyrical. I'm sorry.
- [15:48] Marigold Devin: ohhh I see, higher up. LOL
- [15:48] Marigold Devin: Higher up than "God"
- [15:48] Homeless: I'm not new
- [15:48] Lyrical Popstar: lol
- [15:49] Homeless: Got the idea for my name at this meeting when username first went live
- [15:49] WolfPup Lowenhar: Display names has allowed me to correct a capatalization issue with my name
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: last up on the updates list is Magnum which didn't pass QA and was humiliated off the grid
- [15:49] Marigold Devin: Homeless, I love your name
- [15:49] Lyrical Popstar: now they're all like lyrical34897q8
- [15:49] Lyrical Popstar: lol
- [15:49] Homeless: thankx
- [15:49] Lyrical Popstar: aww
- [15:49] Rex Cronon: quite a fe alts were created before the resident got here. maybe some of those with alts could sell them?
- [15:49] Flip Idlemind: "New" is relative. I'm new compared to people from 05, but I still have a last name. If people didn't think people were noobs for having "Resident" as their last name, then they would think they were noobs for some different reason. Can't control what people think
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: alright. we've got 10 minutes left
- [15:50] Marigold Devin: shhhhh Rex, against ToS (lol tut tut)
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: any other business?
- [15:50] Gooden Uggla: looks vaguely related yup, they adopted yahoo's signup system...
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: Whats the current status on pivots for mesh? [Motor Loon]
- [15:50] Rex Cronon: i don't think is against tos
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: Motor, you would need to go to the Mesh UserGroup for that
- [15:50] ac14 Hutson: Resident never acutally appears unless your using an old veiwer (or you put it in your display name)
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: I don't know
- [15:50] Motor Loon: and I do Oskar °͜°
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: ok
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: then what did you find out?
- [15:51] Fancy Greeter: Falcon Linden has arrived!
- [15:51] Marigold Devin: Did I misunderstand, Rex? Selling your alt accounts is defo against ToS, even though its probably done tons
- [15:51] Motor Loon: It's planned for monday next year
- [15:51] Lyrical Popstar: what about a layering system for mesh? is that in the works?
- [15:51] Gooden Uggla: oskar when do you think you'll be done breaking mesh and getting back to needed fixes ?
- [15:51] Flip Idlemind: Against ToS to give away your account unless you're dead (as I understand it)
- [15:51] Marigold Devin: And even then it's frowned upon, flip
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: I don't have insiht into the future of mesh Lyrical
- [15:51] Rex Cronon: i am not sure
- [15:51] Talia Malaspina: Layering for mesh? We can wear multiple meshes now just fine.
- [15:51] Pauline Darkfury: Yeah, SL accounts are no-trans other than with specific exceptions granted by LL (on death, for example)
- [15:52] Lyrical Popstar: talia... this is what i'm referring to: http://images.plurk.com/2767af6225257672540d14ef94a30a43.jpg
- [15:52] Rex Cronon: u see. if ll ok with it, than there is no problem:)
- [15:52] Flip Idlemind: Big If though
- [15:52] Marigold Devin: What the eye doesn't see, LL doesn't grieve over
- [15:52] ac14 Hutson: anyone try moving the pivot point of mesh with a traingle offset from the rest of it?
- [15:52] Motor Loon: I do that now Ac
- [15:52] Oskar Linden: Lyrical the Mesh team is approachable and has a UserGroup. you should ask your mesh questions there
- [15:52] Marigold Devin: ((wow that sounded more vinegary than I intended it to)
- [15:52] Motor Loon: but its a workaround... not a good solution
- [15:53] Motor Loon: yes Oskar... /me looks down in shame
- [15:53] Gooden Uggla: if you can't answer, it's cool, my other question is "do you think you can pry the recipe for drunkcakes outta alexa?"
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: mmmm
- [15:53] WolfPup Lowenhar: Lyrical monday afternoon here in aditi @ meshHQ 2 is the mesh meeting
- [15:53] Marigold Devin: mmmmm cake
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: no prying of alexa
- [15:53] Talia Malaspina: I assume one of those items says something about layering?
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: come visit seattle
- [15:54] Lyrical Popstar: ok thanks oskar ㋡
- [15:54] Marigold Devin: We could all feel like we were in Seattle if we just had that recipe
- [15:54] Gooden Uggla: a day on the west coast starlight sounds nice...
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: I love that train
- [15:54] WolfPup Lowenhar: < gose to the mesh meeting as he has a project to work on related to mesh in TPV's
- [15:54] Gooden Uggla: seconded
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: ok. everyone fly to Goodens house
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: get on the party train to Seattle
- [15:55] Oskar Linden: dunken cupcakes when you arrive
- [15:55] Pauline Darkfury: Oskar, I don't want to re-open a big discussion on this right now, I just wasn't able to be here at the start, and want to add my objection to the way the fix for SVC-7283 is being scheduled.
Normally I'd object to rushing a fix out, but it's absolutely the right thing to do in this case. Telling us effectively 14 days (minimum, could be longer if that RC doesn't get promoted) is just not acceptable. Moving regions onto that RC isn't a solution either, as this is an AV attachment problem, not a region problem.
This is a grid-wide content-loss issue! The broken behaviour needs to be fixed grid-wide in a matter of days, not weeks! Please reconsider and get this out ASAP. It should be a very small change on its own, and it should be relatively easy for you to get some confidence that it won't cause yet another regression.
- [15:55] Talia MalaspinaTalia Malaspina eeps.
- [15:55] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7283] llRemoteLoadScriptPin and llGiveInventory fail when installing non-full perm items into worn attachments https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7283
- [15:55] Lyrical Popstar: all you gotta bribe me with is beechers
- [15:55] Oskar Linden: we're not saying that pauline. the fix will be on 20% of the grid next wednesday and we will move regions to the RC's that ask for it
- [15:55] Maestro Linden: alright guys, thanks for coming!
- [15:56] Lucia Nightfire: still got four minutes
- [15:56] Lucia Nightfire: lol
- [15:56] Marigold Devin: And "thanks for going" - we know ^^
- [15:56] Talia Malaspina: Thanks everyone!
- [15:56] Gooden Uggla: have a good one maestro
- [15:56] Pauline Darkfury: That's still 14 days of it being broken for 80% of the grid
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: maestro wants to go home early
- [15:56] Maestro Linden: get back to reading Jiras heh
- [15:56] Marigold Devin: I gotta go fix this computer.
- [15:56] Flip Idlemind: I thought you were putting it on all 3 RC's. Or is that only if <insert condition here>
- [15:56] Flip Idlemind: Or
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: all three RC's
- [15:56] Flip Idlemind: are all 3 RC's
- [15:56] Flip Idlemind: 20% of the grid
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: after much discussion internally this was the path deemed most responsible. I'm sorry for any issues it causes you
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: riughly flip
- [15:57] Motor Loon: Hournestly... I'll live
- [15:57] Pauline Darkfury: It causes content-loss for no-copy stuff. Users in general are not terrible channel-aware, so they are going to be losing content on a fairly large scale until it is fixed grid-wide (unless the creator can disable dynamic update stuff somehow)
- [15:57] Gooden Uggla: pauline, i think that was the compromise during the "heated exchanges" over the issue, i don't think we'll do any better, it's the same old "brick wall with a smileyface" customer service this time...
- [15:57] Pauline Darkfury: *not terribly channel-aware
- [15:58] Oskar Linden: [] :-)
- [15:58] Flip Idlemind: Aha, I thought it was closer to 30 (10% * 3)
- [15:58] Gooden Uggla: and yes, it totalloy screws people on the mainland or those not savvy to server versions
- [15:59] Homeless: no copy items are a pain...
- [15:59] Pauline Darkfury: Sorry, but I think you're going to find that rather a lot of people are not happy with the timescale. It's already being escalated to Rodvik :(
- [15:59] Flip Idlemind: The alternative is to throw out a "fix" that might cause a bug that's 10 times worse, and then *that* would go 2 weeks without being fixed
- [15:59] Oskar Linden: I have no problem with resident escalation
- [15:59] WolfPup LowenharWolfPup Lowenhar ondwers when work on SVC-7101 will start
- [15:59] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7101] Allow hollow objects to be hollow greater than 95% https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7101
- [16:00] Talia Malaspina: OoOooo I lik 7101
- [16:00] Talia Malaspina: e
- [16:00] Pauline Darkfury: Yeah, it's nothing personal in escalating it, it's just one of those issues that needs to be escalated :(
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: if you feel the issue is serious enough and we've made the wrong decision you can escalate it as much as you want
- [16:00] Gooden Uggla: oskar, you might see some rather large content creators bailing out over this...
- [16:00] PulseBurst Flow: I vote for 100% hollow?
- [16:00] Liisa Runo: SCR-90 going to get fixed some day? Lots of stuff is currently broken...
- [16:00] Flame of Jira: [#SCR-90] llGetBoundingBox() returns wrong values on Magnum RC https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-90
- [16:00] WolfPup Lowenhar: oskar i have already owrked on the viewr side of that issue
- [16:00] Talia Malaspina: 7101 was only suggested two months ago? I scream at my monitor daily over that.
- [16:01] Oskar Linden: alright well. thanks for coming to the meeting
- [16:01] Talia Malaspina: Thank you guys!!
- [16:01] Motor Loon: tc all
- [16:01] Marigold Devin: Thanks, its been interesting again.
- [16:01] Rex Cronon: tc oskar
- [16:01] Pauline Darkfury: Thanks, Oskar, and other Lindens. Take care :)
- [16:01] Rex Cronon: tc everybody
- [16:02] Rex Cronon: and have a nice day:)
- [16:02] WolfPup Lowenhar: Talia 7101 is actualy a child issue of another build tools issue
- [16:02] Lares Carter: thanks for the meeting
- [16:02] Talia MalaspinaTalia Malaspina tinkles
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: thanks for coming everyone
- [16:03] Jacky Scharf: Thx and tc everybody. ㋡
- [16:04] Gooden Uggla: good meeting, thanks oskar
