- [14:59] Bridie Linden: That's the plan WarKirby...
- [14:59] Gigs Taggart: I sure hope so, because that's how I did the agenda :)
- [14:59] Bridie Linden: but 1.18.4 RC is looking really close to 'good to go'
- [14:59] Alexa Linden: :) and thank you for doing it Gigs! you rock
- [14:59] Gigs Taggart: yw
- [14:59] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:00] Bridie Linden: Let's wait a few for Torley and Aric...
- [15:00] WarKirby Magojiro: There are still vulnerabilities with dialog spam
- [15:00] WarKirby Magojiro: I think
- [15:00] Gigs Taggart: are there patches in it for the animation permission spam?
- [15:00] WarKirby Magojiro: Not just animation permission
- [15:00] WarKirby Magojiro: but dialogs in general
- [15:00] Alexa Linden: stairs at the orange bear and says "you looking at me!"
- [15:01] Bridie Linden: Torley's on the way
- [15:01] WarKirby Magojiro: Which reminds me, I don't seem to have a Bridie bear yet
- [15:01] WarKirby Magojiro: Or alexa
- [15:01] Bridie Linden: Let's fix that WarKirby!
- [15:01] Torley Linden: Whee there we go!
- [15:01] Daedalus Young: I have Bridie Bear 2.0
- [15:01] Torley Linden: Hello everyone!
- [15:01] WarKirby Magojiro: accepted your inventory offer.
- [15:01] Daedalus Young: hi Torley
- [15:01] WarKirby Magojiro: or even a torley bear :)
- [15:01] Bridie Linden: Hi Torley!
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: Torley!
- [15:02] Torley Linden: Someone wants a Torley bear? Wha?
- [15:02] Kooky Jetaime: hey Bridie, Torley
- [15:02] Torley Linden: Hi Daed, Bridie, Alexa, all!
- [15:02] Torley Linden: Hey Kooky!
- [15:02] WarKirby Magojiro: raises a hand
- [15:02] Daedalus Young: I have a Daedalus Young Resident Bear
- [15:02] Bridie Linden: Nice av, Kooky!
- [15:02] WarKirby Magojiro: Do you have a bear, torley?
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: I'm doing triage notes, imports, transcripts for Bridie now too Torley
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: FYI
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: so one less thing for you to do
- [15:02] Bridie Linden: bows to Alexa!
- [15:02] Kooky Jetaime: its not a bear really War.. its more of a.. watermelon abomination :)
- [15:03] WarKirby Magojiro: sounds fun
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: So while we're waiting on anyone else to show...
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: Guess who's back? (Insert Eminem 'Without Me' sample here...)
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: Me!
- [15:03] Alexa Linden: Hooo!
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: Many thanks to Torley and Aric Linden for holding down the virtual fort while I was out!
- [15:03] Kooky Jetaime: Back again
- [15:03] WarKirby Magojiro: heheh
- [15:03] Torley Linden: LOL... that's a funny way to put it.
- [15:03] Torley Linden: Great Alexa, thanks for the update!
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: And of course thanks to all of the Residents who have helped keep these triages going...Gigs, Daedalus, Saijanai, WarKirby, Alissa, etc!
- [15:04] Torley Linden: It's great to have you back Bridie.
- [15:04] Saijanai Kuhn: hey big boy. Is that a suit of armor in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
- [15:04] Gigs Taggart: ok so the agenda, the top set of bugs are pretty solid bugs, we should be able to blast through those
- [15:04] Alexa Linden: Welcome everyone!
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: I'm still playing a bit of catch-up, so BEAR with me please!
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: (I crack myself up!)
- [15:04] Alexa Linden: booooooo
- [15:04] WarKirby Magojiro: <_<
- [15:04] Torley Linden: Heehehe that's punny. :p
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: 1.18.4 is looking good, but let's see what's still hanging out there...
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: Here's today's agenda (thanks Gigs!): https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda
- [15:05] WarKirby Magojiro: vwr 2982 is up first it seems
- [15:05] Myron Fall: hey everyone
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Shall we do this? :)
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Hiya Myron, Jacer
- [15:05] Daedalus Young: yep
- [15:05] Alexa Linden: Shifting selection from one object to another causes group information to be carried from original
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Let's start
- [15:05] Gigs Taggart: vwr-2982 I found at like 3am which is why the description is terse, you should be able to repro it right here though
- [15:05] Gigs Taggart: if you are in the latest RC
- [15:05] WarKirby Magojiro: Can you enable build so we can test it?
- [15:05] Torley Linden: likes necessary terseness.
- [15:06] WarKirby Magojiro: I'm using the latest RC now
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: (I'm manning the rotating SL logo so you should be able to click on it to go to current bug)
- [15:06] James Benedek: HIII!!!!
- [15:06] WarKirby Magojiro: alright
- [15:06] WarKirby Magojiro: two cubes in two different groups
- [15:06] Torley Linden: Why hello James!
- [15:06] Alexa Linden: right
- [15:06] Daedalus Young: hm, didn't repro for me right there
- [15:06] Gigs Taggart: hah, no repro now
- [15:06] Gigs Taggart: it was 100% last night
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Hmmm
- [15:07] Daedalus Young: you may need ctrl-alt-v to enable to Build button
- [15:07] James Benedek: i was chilling out with enus testing the viewer
- [15:07] WarKirby Magojiro: I can't seem to reproduce this
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Hiya James, we just got started
- [15:07] WarKirby Magojiro: the object groups appear correct
- [15:07] Gigs Taggart: me either, but it was totally doing it reliably last night
- [15:07] Daedalus Young: but I did change the Group on the cube from the build menu
- [15:07] Kooky Jetaime: I just had something similar to that happen
- [15:07] WarKirby Magojiro: there is a bried flickere while the new data is downloaded
- [15:07] Kooky Jetaime: and I'm on Nick BE-s
- [15:07] WarKirby Magojiro: but ti fixes within a ssecond
- [15:07] Gigs Taggart: oh
- [15:07] Gigs Taggart: enable edit linked parts
- [15:07] Gigs Taggart: then select a child prim
- [15:07] WarKirby Magojiro: ah
- [15:08] Gigs Taggart: of another object
- [15:08] Gigs Taggart: that repros 100%
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Gigs, can you update your description?
- [15:08] McPhenius Swain: Nice ant Sai :) Hi everyone
- [15:08] Gigs Taggart: 1 prim objects can't repro it apparently
- [15:08] Gigs Taggart: yeah I'll update it
- [15:08] Daedalus Young: ahh, I see
- [15:08] Torley Linden: Heyhey! Haha, McPhenius, I hope you're not too hungry for Sai's ant!
- [15:08] Saijanai Kuhn: this is the low lag version. Editable too. I'd script it but Turtle would get jealous
- [15:08] WarKirby Magojiro: Ah
- [15:08] Eazy101 Wilber: Has Beamed Down To Levenhall.
- [15:08] McPhenius Swain: )
- [15:08] WarKirby Magojiro: from one child prim to another
- [15:08] WarKirby Magojiro: We have a repro
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Thx. Sounds ok to import, yes Torley? Alexa?
- [15:09] WarKirby Magojiro: and that's one poorly descrivbed bug
- [15:09] Alexa Linden: will do - assign to?
- [15:09] Daffee Vita: Salutes.
- [15:09] WarKirby Magojiro: Wait
- [15:09] WarKirby Magojiro: fix the description first
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: triage
- [15:09] Alexa Linden: ya, I import after the meeting
- [15:09] Torley Linden: Sounds good.
- [15:09] Alexa Linden: ty bridie
- [15:09] WarKirby Magojiro: You have to select a child prim of a, then move to a child prim of b
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: Next up...VWR-2981
- [15:09] Gigs Taggart: warkirby like I said it was 3am :)
- [15:09] Alexa Linden: Can't open two notecards with same name from inside two different objects
- [15:10] Gigs Taggart: tyeah this one is another quick repro if it works :)
- [15:10] WarKirby Magojiro: cannot repro
- [15:10] WarKirby Magojiro: this is working for me
- [15:10] Gigs Taggart: :)
- [15:10] WarKirby Magojiro: two notecards with the same name, in two different object
- [15:10] WarKirby Magojiro: both open
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: What were you doing last night Gigs?
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: :)
- [15:11] Torley Linden: =^_^=
- [15:11] Kooky Jetaime: smoking something perhaps? Hehe
- [15:11] Alexa Linden: O.o
- [15:11] Squirrel Wood: /ao off
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Hey Squirrel!
- [15:11] Alexa Linden: hi Squirrel :D
- [15:11] WarKirby Magojiro: This is two precreated identical notecards though
- [15:11] Squirrel Wood: hihi
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Resolve no repro?
- [15:11] WarKirby Magojiro: i'll try following the repro exactly
- [15:11] Kooky Jetaime: wait
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Waiting...
- [15:11] Kooky Jetaime: the two notecards need to have same name, different contents
- [15:12] Gigs Taggart: ok the repro is bad, but the bug is real :)
- [15:12] WarKirby Magojiro: nope
- [15:12] WarKirby Magojiro: Cannot reproduce
- [15:12] Kooky Jetaime: hrm
- [15:12] Kooky Jetaime: lemme
- [15:12] Gigs Taggart: I can't reproduce now either, but it was happening every time last night :(
- [15:12] WarKirby Magojiro: Perhaps a database hiccup ?
- [15:12] Torley Linden: Hmmm...
- [15:13] Gigs Taggart: I did reproduce this pretty extensively
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: Well, let's resolve as no repro for now - if you can find another repro, reopen
- [15:13] Gigs Taggart: ok
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: Ty, Gigs
- [15:13] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: Ty Alexa
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: ok, next VWR-2962
- [15:13] Kooky Jetaime: thats ok Gigs, I had a bug that I closed for lack of repro the other day, after reproing it a ton
- [15:13] Alexa Linden: OpenJPEG library files are not included in Windows library package
- [15:14] WarKirby Magojiro: hmm
- [15:14] Bridie Linden: Shoot - This issue was not in 1.18.3.5. but is back?
- [15:14] WarKirby Magojiro: so they were just forgotten ?
- [15:15] WarKirby Magojiro: looks around at everyone
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: hrm
- [15:15] Gigs Taggart: I use linux :)
- [15:15] Daedalus Young: I use Mac, and even then, I don't use these :P
- [15:15] Gigs Taggart: alissa wouldn't file this if it weren't true :)
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:16] Daedalus Young: can be easily checked, if they are missing and need to be in, they need to be in
- [15:16] WarKirby Magojiro: import for investigation ?
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: Well, let's import - i just pinged my friends on the build team
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: Moving right along...
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: have I mentioned how much I love my job lately? :)
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: VWR-2959
- [15:16] Torley Linden: Awwwe.
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: Windows (Visual Studio) solution file refers to a non-existing project "build_all"
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: Hey Enus!
- [15:17] Torley Linden: Heya Enus!
- [15:17] Torley Linden: Nice to see everyone here today.
- [15:17] James Benedek: i tped :P
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: (Reminder that you can all click on the rotating SL logo for url of latest bug)
- [15:17] Enus Linden: (hi bridie, torley : )
- [15:18] WarKirby Magojiro: I've no experience with the viewer code, so I can't comment here..
- [15:18] Gigs Taggart: I'd say import, same as last
- [15:18] Gigs Taggart: just check it :)
- [15:18] Daedalus Young: but I'm sure it's valid
- [15:18] Alexa Linden: agreed?
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: Same as last one - let's trust Alissa, and I'll ping build folks
- [15:18] Daedalus Young: yeah, you can always close
- [15:18] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:18] Torley Linden: *nod*
- [15:18] Torley Linden: Sounds good to me too.
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: Sweet
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: Next up, VWR-2957
- [15:19] Alexa Linden: RC2: 1 random person in crowd loses name/group tag from being displayed
- [15:19] Daedalus Young: I have Names set to temporarily anyway, so I don't know about this
- [15:19] WarKirby Magojiro: I mentioned there, I've seen this a few times
- [15:19] Daedalus Young: is much easier on the Client Lag
- [15:19] Gigs Taggart: I've seen this too
- [15:19] Kooky Jetaime: I've actually seen this in older clients too
- [15:19] Kooky Jetaime: its not limited to RC
- [15:19] Squirrel Wood: seen it too
- [15:19] Aric Linden: It has to do with presence getting toasted
- [15:19] Kooky Jetaime: but its intermittant
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: Hi Aric!
- [15:20] Kooky Jetaime: hi Aric
- [15:20] Squirrel Wood: and sometimes the name is way off somewhere and as you turn the camera it zooms in from one side
- [15:20] Aric Linden: Hi Bridie. I've been standing here in shadow for a while
- [15:20] Torley Linden: Heya Aric!
- [15:20] Aric Linden: Hi Kooky and Torley
- [15:20] Torley Linden: I haven't seen this one yet myself.
- [15:20] Kitty Barnett: it's not new
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: Suggestions on how to treat this bug?
- [15:20] Kooky Jetaime: Hi Aric
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: er, issue...
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: :)
- [15:20] WarKirby Magojiro: seems to be a clientside thing only, as the victim sees theit own ag fine
- [15:20] WarKirby Magojiro: tag*
- [15:21] Kooky Jetaime: oh nevermind, I'm an idiot stuck in an infinate loop
- [15:21] Aric Linden: Well, without a repro it's going to be difficult to do much with it
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:21] Aric Linden: we know it happens sometimes, it's related to presence
- [15:21] Gigs Taggart: How can you repro a random bug? :)
- [15:21] Kooky Jetaime: yea.. I've had missing tags before that if you turn and turn back it'll zoom in from the side
- [15:21] Squirrel Wood: may be a packet loss thing ?
- [15:21] WarKirby Magojiro: It seems to happen when there are several people present
- [15:21] Kooky Jetaime: and sometimes them typing will pop it into place.
- [15:21] WarKirby Magojiro: in all my experience
- [15:21] WarKirby Magojiro: the missing one is a person who jsut arrived
- [15:21] Kooky Jetaime: starts counting bodies and tags
- [15:21] Daedalus Young: I've seen it in a whole other game though, but that's completely unrelated to SL
- [15:21] WarKirby Magojiro: maybe that's helpful..
- [15:22] Alexa Linden: close, can't repro?
- [15:22] Aric Linden: well, that's lag War
- [15:22] WarKirby Magojiro: but it never appears
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: Should we resolve as 'needs more info'? see if we can get a repro?
- [15:22] Kooky Jetaime: yea, NMI
- [15:22] Alexa Linden: good idea
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: great
- [15:22] Aric Linden: not quite the same thing. it times out after a bit and that's why it doesn't show up
- [15:22] Aric Linden: presence is different. NMI is a good approach
- [15:22] Gigs Taggart: I'm not sure I like that, but if you all are dead set.. :(
- [15:22] Squirrel's Fortune: Cookie: Here's some wisdom for you:
- [15:22] Squirrel's Fortune: Cookie: Preserve the old, but know the new.
- [15:22] WarKirby Magojiro: maybe that's the exact issue here
- [15:23] Gigs Taggart: I don't see this bug ever getting a step by step repro, I mean
- [15:23] Daedalus Young: Preserve the old bugs, but know the new?
- [15:23] Kooky Jetaime: well, even if we can't repro, if we can get details on circumstances Gigs, it'll help
- [15:23] WarKirby Magojiro: I'll add more info if I see it again
- [15:23] Kooky Jetaime: or some screenshots perhaps?
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:23] Squirrel Wood: A crowd seems to be mandatory for it to happen
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: Other suggesetions Gigs?
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: *suggestions
- [15:23] Jacer Shepherd: yes, a crowd
- [15:23] Torley Linden: Crowds aren't hard to find in Second Life anymore, thankfully. :)
- [15:24] Alexa Linden: adding that to the notes I'll post
- [15:24] Gigs Taggart: bridie, well, someone could look at the code :) It's a small priority bug in any case.
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:24] Kooky Jetaime: is it nametags only, does bubble text affect it?
- [15:24] WarKirby Magojiro: only name and group tags
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: Shall we move on to VWR-2795?
- [15:25] WarKirby Magojiro: the entire floating box just vanishes
- [15:25] Jacer Shepherd: I've only seen it with name tags.
- [15:25] WarKirby Magojiro: kk
- [15:25] Aric Linden: um, part of the art of QA is methodically creating a step by step repro even for things such as this
- [15:25] Kitty Barnett: you still get a tooltip though if you hover over that person, just no tag
- [15:25] Kooky Jetaime: 2795 - Is this working as designed or a true bug?
- [15:25] Alexa Linden: New Land Description Multiline box does not allow Line Return formatting - converts to ?
- [15:25] Daedalus Young: true bug, if I understand it correctly
- [15:25] Kooky Jetaime: This may be by design, just multi-line so you don't have to arrow through it
- [15:25] Kooky Jetaime: Whats the intended behaivor?
- [15:25] Squirrel Wood: the description field is multiline
- [15:25] Daedalus Young: it's assigned to Aric
- [15:25] Kooky Jetaime: ((I don't have the RC, so I don't know how long it is)
- [15:25] WarKirby Magojiro: Linebreaks converted to ?
- [15:26] WarKirby Magojiro: that sounds pretty silly
- [15:26] Daedalus Young: I can remember seeing it in triage before
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: is it also imported?
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: or just assigned
- [15:26] Daedalus Young: just assigned
- [15:26] Aric Linden: it's do-able. but the priority of doing it is a question. I tend to place loss of data or crashing or losses of that nature as the high priority spend of resource time
- [15:26] Gigs Taggart: Aric: of course, but some bugs that have a lot of external conditional that they rely on may not be reproducable without something like a broken server test harness :)
- [15:26] Torley Linden: I like the new multi-line description in terms of usability but doesn't sound right to me that it's making "?"... the old behavior was that Enter just confirmed the field value, right?
- [15:26] Kooky Jetaime: Right, but just because the entry box is multiline, is the data itself supposed to be "one line" or ?
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: Aric, could someone in QA take a look?
- [15:26] Daedalus Young: the old behavior was one line, like in html forms, one line and multi-line are very different
- [15:27] WarKirby Magojiro: I think formatting in a description is a good, and necessary thing
- [15:27] Kooky Jetaime: A multi-line box could just be for readability, not function
- [15:27] Torley Linden: If it's straightforward to allow proper carriage returns, I would think that's the best way. It's confusing to not allow line breaks in a multi-line input.
- [15:27] Daedalus Young: easy to just forget a newline conversion on changing it
- [15:27] Kooky Jetaime: Warkirby - but a description can't be formatted in the land info bar (to the left of file/edit/view)
- [15:27] WarKirby Magojiro: hmm
- [15:28] Kooky Jetaime: And then if you do have multiline descriptiosn, do you only show the top line, or run it all togeterh in that bar?
- [15:28] Kooky Jetaime: together
- [15:28] Aric Linden: Bridie, yes, we can look at it
- [15:28] WarKirby Magojiro: Wait, doesn the description go there?
- [15:28] Alexa Linden: I'll mark to import
- [15:28] WarKirby Magojiro: I don;'t think it does
- [15:28] Kooky Jetaime: thought it did
- [15:28] WarKirby Magojiro: I'm pretty sure it's for showing up in search
- [15:28] WarKirby Magojiro: places
- [15:28] Bridie Linden: If anyone wants to add info to 2795, that'd be great!
- [15:28] Daedalus Young: in the menubar only the name is showing, not the description
- [15:29] Kooky Jetaime: ok
- [15:29] Kooky Jetaime: my bad
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: Shall we move on to the " Controversial bugs "?
- [15:29] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [15:29] Daedalus Young: ok
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: VWR-2960
- [15:29] Alexa Linden: Changes in Edit/Build GUI
- [15:29] Gigs Taggart: you can cop-out on these and just assign them to benjamin
- [15:29] Daedalus Young: well, not so controversial imo
- [15:29] Daedalus Young: one of these already came through triage too
- [15:29] Gigs Taggart: these two bugs are just complaining about UI changes that were intended
- [15:29] Daedalus Young: are they intended?
- [15:30] Gigs Taggart: at least one is
- [15:30] Daedalus Young: there doesn't seem to be a need for the change
- [15:30] Gigs Taggart: the one with the item for sale UI is intended
- [15:30] Daedalus Young: except future expansions
- [15:30] Torley Linden: Haha "Controversial bugs", that doth sound juicy.
- [15:30] WarKirby Magojiro: I don't like the new features tab
- [15:30] Gigs Taggart: the other one probably is also
- [15:30] Kooky Jetaime: the item for sale isn't the issue, its what the rest of the movements appear
- [15:30] WarKirby Magojiro: I think that looked better before, personally
- [15:30] WarKirby Magojiro: but the general tab is fine
- [15:30] Daedalus Young: that's not the issue, the right columns are moved to the left
- [15:30] Daedalus Young: for no apparent reason
- [15:31] Torley Linden: Hrmmm... yeah I don't know why some of those elements were moved. I liked haivng Light next to Flexible Path, not below.
- [15:31] WarKirby Magojiro: hm ?
- [15:31] Torley Linden: *having
- [15:31] Kooky Jetaime: I have to say that if we're gonna monkey with the build tools floater, lets redesign the whole durn things
- [15:31] Kooky Jetaime: We'll mention this at tommorrows triage with Ben
- [15:31] Torley Linden: Part of the reason why I say this is because on smaller screens, you can move the edit tools down and off the screen partially and still see both Flexible Path and Light -- and edit them.
- [15:31] WarKirby Magojiro: I'd say keep the general, revert the features
- [15:31] Gigs Taggart: kooky there is no UI triage anymore
- [15:31] Kooky Jetaime: Revert the features and the create area
- [15:32] Kooky Jetaime: ohh I see what he's saying
- [15:32] Torley Linden: I like the General tab change too.
- [15:32] Kooky Jetaime: I think
- [15:32] Kooky Jetaime: Someone with RC - If your on features, if you change between Edit and Create, do things move?
- [15:32] Torley Linden: I don't see that as being an issue, but I am irked by the Features tab (personally) because of the aforementioned reason.
- [15:32] Squirrel Wood: nope. they don't
- [15:33] Gigs Taggart: nothing is moving
- [15:33] WarKirby Magojiro: no
- [15:33] Aric Linden: afk for a moment
- [15:33] Enus Linden: part of the shift is i believe to accomodate internationalization UI treatments
- [15:33] Kooky Jetaime: hmm ok, I noticed he did create on one, and edit on 2 for the second image, thought maybe that was affecting it
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: I think Enus is probably right...
- [15:33] Torley Linden: Enus: Thanks, that might make more sense... I suppose if some words are longer in some languages and would overlap other UI elements, for example.
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:33] WarKirby Magojiro: I do wonder where the windlight glow parameter will be
- [15:33] Torley Linden: I remember Ben mentioning something about long German words.
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: yup
- [15:33] Enus Linden: rather long ; )
- [15:33] Gigs Taggart: From what I know of the XUI, these things didn't move themselves :)
- [15:34] Squirrel Wood: japanese/chinese UIs do have the problem of not enough space ^^
- [15:34] Gigs Taggart: so I'm sure it was intended for whatever reason
- [15:34] Kooky Jetaime: hmm
- [15:34] Aric Linden: bacl
- [15:34] Torley Linden: WarKirby, I should get a screenshot up... it's under Transparency % but Transparency %'s been moved to the upper-right corner.
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: I'd have to say 'won't fix'
- [15:34] Squirrel Wood: front :p
- [15:34] Gigs Taggart: maybe whoever did the change could explain it on the bug and then do the wontfix/
- [15:34] Gigs Taggart: it helps if people know the reason :)
- [15:34] Kooky Jetaime: I'd almost say it would look better though under create if you made a tic-tac-toe board of the available prims, instead of the running list
- [15:34] WarKirby Magojiro: nods
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: Sure, we can follow up internally
- [15:34] Torley Linden: doesn't know who made this change, but an explanation would be fantastic.
- [15:34] Daedalus Young: yeah, an explanation on it would be ossm
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: Torley, would you mind digging into it?
- [15:35] Torley Linden: Sure Bridie, I'll followup on it...
- [15:35] Daedalus Young: people are confused and see it as unnecessary and thus file it
- [15:35] Torley Linden: *makes a note*
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: that would be OSSM
- [15:35] Torley Linden: Hehe I dig that word, OSSM!
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: Good convo folks...
- [15:35] WarKirby Magojiro: shall we move on ?
- [15:35] Squirrel Wood: don't forget that I do have a jira issue somewhere regarding the addition of other prim properties to the edit box
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: moving right along in our OSSMness...
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: VWR-2817
- [15:35] WarKirby Magojiro: nods at quirrelt
- [15:35] Alexa Linden: Edit Window Displays Copy Tools Differently
- [15:36] Gigs Taggart: The next group of bugs are ones that at first glance might be severe but I didn't check to see if they were valid in any way
- [15:36] Daedalus Young: like sittarget and settext?
- [15:36] Kooky Jetaime: this is the same as the last one
- [15:36] Kooky Jetaime: intentional redesign apparently
- [15:36] Daedalus Young: yes, same issue
- [15:36] Gigs Taggart: 2817 goes with the one before it
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: Ah
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:36] Bridie Linden: Torley?
- [15:36] Gigs Taggart: we should really endeavor to get through this next group of bugs
- [15:37] Aric Linden: yeah, this one has been imported already
- [15:37] Kooky Jetaime: Ya know, perhaps the jira would be faster if you could cache it??
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: Potentially Severe bugs up next...
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: VWR-2633
- [15:37] Alexa Linden: Not all my groups are visible and the group dialog, (Edit -> Groups...) i'm missing some groups
- [15:37] Torley Linden: Pardon Bridie?
- [15:37] Gigs Taggart: aric is assigned on 2633 but it's not imported
- [15:37] Daedalus Young: I simply open up the agenda issues in tabs, so they're already loaded :)
- [15:37] Aric Linden: it'd be much faster if we replaced it
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: Torley, you'll help with those last 2 ui bugs, yes?
- [15:37] Torley Linden: Yup!
- [15:37] Kooky Jetaime: So do I Daed - but I'm opening the pix, and then having to reload the page when I back to them
- [15:38] Kooky Jetaime: but now I open the pix in new tabs too I guess :/
- [15:38] WarKirby Magojiro: hmm
- [15:38] WarKirby Magojiro: this isn't good
- [15:38] Daedalus Young: I still have seen 2633 at times, but appears to be less than before
- [15:38] WarKirby Magojiro: never experienced it personally, but clearly a few have
- [15:38] Daedalus Young: I added new info regarding leaving and joining groups in the comments
- [15:38] Alexa Linden: this one seems to come and go
- [15:38] Gigs Taggart: 2633 does not seem to be RC specific
- [15:38] Gigs Taggart: we might want to pass on it for now
- [15:38] Torley Linden: Hmmm wait, this is a dupe of another internal bug.
- [15:38] Torley Linden: One moment...
- [15:38] Gigs Taggart: cool
- [15:39] Squirrel Wood: isn't the group info transfered via UDP ?
- [15:39] Alexa Linden: post a "last triaged" date on it?
- [15:39] Torley Linden: Someone from Studio Blacklight was looking at this earlier.
- [15:39] Daedalus Young: it doesn't seem to be, but it does seem to happen more on the RC
- [15:39] Kooky Jetaime: brb
- [15:39] Gigs Taggart: if torley links it to the internal bug that would be best
- [15:39] Daedalus Young: yes
- [15:39] Gigs Taggart: we should move on :)
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: nods to Gifs
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: * Gigs!
- [15:39] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [15:39] Gigs Taggart: is LZW compressed
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: VWR-2937
- [15:39] Alexa Linden: Group List not loading at login
- [15:40] Torley Linden: Yeah, for internal reference, DEV-5627 sounds same as https://jira.lindenlab.com/browse/DEV-2877
- [15:40] Daedalus Young: dupe
- [15:40] Daedalus Young: of previous
- [15:40] Torley Linden: Sorry, that's inaccessible to Residents... Linden-only link.
- [15:40] Torley Linden: Wow, looks like we have a trio of these!
- [15:40] Gigs Taggart: Torley can you link up 2633?
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: I can cross reference it torley
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: yup
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: jinx
- [15:40] Torley Linden: Sounds like Alexa's gonna, thanks Gigs.
- [15:40] Gigs Taggart: cool
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: Thx Alexa
- [15:40] Squirrel Wood: hattrick ^^
- [15:40] WarKirby Magojiro: Secret Jira :O
- [15:41] Gigs Taggart: 2937 is a dupe?
- [15:41] Bridie Linden: VWR-2976
- [15:41] Daedalus Young: internal :P
- [15:41] Torley Linden: DEV-2877 is the oldest one of those "no groups upon login".
- [15:41] Squirrel Wood: 2976 preloaded tabs may need reload - I added comment :p
- [15:41] WarKirby Magojiro: ready to move on ?
- [15:41] Aric Linden: I believe that 2937 got fixed today. enus is that right?
- [15:41] Enus Linden: lemme see
- [15:42] Daedalus Young: that would be more than OSSM
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: was wondering that too
- [15:42] Gigs Taggart: 2976, Qarl mentioned some anti-griefer code on degenerate planes
- [15:42] Gigs Taggart: this may be triggering that in error
- [15:42] WarKirby Magojiro: yes
- [15:42] WarKirby Magojiro: I linked it
- [15:42] Torley Linden: That issue would be hard to search for, "sculpties" is misspelled twice *corrects*.
- [15:42] WarKirby Magojiro: What griefing purposes could there be for degenerate faces?
- [15:42] Gigs Taggart: LL isn't saying :)
- [15:42] Squirrel Wood: sculpties looking ok from afar but reverting to sphere asyou get close
- [15:43] Enus Linden: confirmed fixed
- [15:43] WarKirby Magojiro: <_<
- [15:43] Torley Linden: Hmmm I haven't seen that myself.
- [15:43] Enus Linden: 2976
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: Fixed, w00t!
- [15:43] Squirrel Wood: which gives the impression of them not loading
- [15:43] Torley Linden: Good to know, thanks Enus.
- [15:43] Alexa Linden: marking as fixed
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: Next, VWR-2969
- [15:43] Alexa Linden: When "Play Streaming Video" button is slected under 'Audio & Video" Preferences, video controls do not appear in world under Vista
- [15:44] Gigs Taggart: anyone here on vista?
- [15:44] Alexa Linden: /listens to the crickets
- [15:44] WarKirby Magojiro: We need a repro on this
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:44] Aric Linden: let's just test it internally. should be relatively easy to repro
- [15:44] Aric Linden: we'll take it, alexa
- [15:44] Gigs Taggart: cool
- [15:44] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: ty Aric
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: Next, VWR-2968
- [15:45] Alexa Linden: Sculpted prim: Alphachannel data can bork your sculpt
- [15:45] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:46] Gigs Taggart: that comment at the bottom is bogus
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: I hate when that happens
- [15:46] Gigs Taggart: the compression isn't fixed rate
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: IMport and assign to Qarl?
- [15:47] WarKirby Magojiro: sounds good
- [15:47] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:47] Torley Linden: Sounds good to me too.
- [15:47] Gigs Taggart: I think so, alpha shouldn't be affecting sculpties
- [15:47] Torley Linden: Qarl, sculpties master!
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: Ok, VWR-2961
- [15:47] Alexa Linden: Editor incorrectly handling copied numerical values when selecting objects with the right click menu.
- [15:48] Gigs Taggart: this sounds related to my group bug
- [15:48] Kooky Jetaime: I come back and everyones silent, thanks for waiting for me :D
- [15:48] Gigs Taggart: carrying over bogus data from the previous selection
- [15:48] Alexa Linden: hahahahah yw
- [15:48] WarKirby Magojiro: hmm
- [15:49] Aric Linden: let's take that one
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: I haven't tried it, but sounds like we should take a look
- [15:49] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:49] Daedalus Young: hm, I can remember similar things happening months earlier, so may not be RC specific
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: Last on in Severe list, then we'll talk to Squirrel -- VWR-2829
- [15:49] Alexa Linden: Texture Picker Jumps Between Multiple Highlighted Textures
- [15:49] Daedalus Young: 2829 was triaged before too, I remember, but still unsure what happens
- [15:50] Torley Linden: Nice, Big Enigma created a video repro...
- [15:50] Torley Linden: <3s video repros.
- [15:50] Daedalus Young: funny enough, ATI seems to have an effect on it
- [15:50] Daedalus Young: as it reproes on my ATI
- [15:50] Enus Linden: yay for vids!
- [15:50] Squirrel Wood: 2829 happens when you use the arrow keys to navigate through the textures
- [15:50] Gigs Taggart: nvidia here, no repro
- [15:50] Daedalus Young: while no repro on Gigs Nvidia
- [15:51] WarKirby Magojiro: wow jira is slow. High of 15Kb/s transfer rate on that video.....
- [15:51] Aric Linden: hold on, let me see what I can find on this
- [15:51] Bridie Linden: holding...
- [15:51] Squirrel Wood: the client requests multiple textures and then alternates between them when they arrive
- [15:51] WarKirby Magojiro: IT would be good to have a little timeout, perhaps
- [15:51] Daedalus Young: near the end of the list, it just skips back the selection a few times
- [15:51] WarKirby Magojiro: only request the data if you stop on the texture
- [15:51] WarKirby Magojiro: for more than say.. half a second
- [15:52] Daedalus Young: it also still reproed for me when all textures were already cached
- [15:52] Kooky Jetaime: that would be a good diea War
- [15:52] WarKirby Magojiro: thuslu preventing a lot of requests from someone scrolling through like this
- [15:52] Kooky Jetaime: lets not even mention the texture cache
- [15:52] Aric Linden: I thought I'd imported it, but apparently not
- [15:52] WarKirby Magojiro: heh
- [15:52] Daedalus Young: assigned to you though, Aric
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: Import Alexa?
- [15:52] Daedalus Young: but no imp
- [15:52] Alexa Linden: will do
- [15:52] Aric Linden: I already imported it
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: O.o
- [15:53] Aric Linden: and will move it to triage tomorrow
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: Great progress today - Squirrel what was your issue?
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: stealing my work?!!?!
- [15:53] Aric Linden: laughs
- [15:53] Aric Linden: not likely
- [15:53] Squirrel Wood: issue? me has none atm
- [15:53] Aric Linden: you're way better at it
- [15:53] Torley Linden: Oooh we've come a long way.
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: thansk for the $1L Bridie
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: I feel better now
- [15:53] WarKirby Magojiro: What about your additional prim propeties one?
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: We get our L$ worth!
- [15:53] Torley Linden: Power on a budget!
- [15:54] WarKirby Magojiro: I'd love particle setting controls in the client, personally....
- [15:54] Aric Linden: i sort of ran out of hands the week both torley and bridie were out
- [15:54] Squirrel Wood: except mayhaps... some voice stuff... but that's not for this triage ^^
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: laughs
- [15:54] Kooky Jetaime: I can solve VWR-2954 right now Alexa - Satellite ISPs not supported.
- [15:54] Torley Linden: imagines Aric doing some JIRA guitar riffs!
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: Behind his head!
- [15:54] Aric Linden: teeth only puhleeze
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: ni-iice!
- [15:54] Kooky Jetaime: Lexa - want me to close it out.
- [15:54] Aric Linden: /laughs
- [15:55] Alexa Linden: yes please Kooky
- [15:55] Alexa Linden: thank you
- [15:55] Squirrel Wood: just for reference.... I want to see some votes on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2970 ^^
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: Anyone on leopard yet?
- [15:55] Daedalus Young: nope
- [15:55] WarKirby Magojiro: that should be a little clientside save
- [15:55] Alexa Linden: I'll so vote on this!
- [15:55] Torley Linden: Squirrel, I do wish those settings would persist, with a Reset button for convenience too — or some similar approach.
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: +1
- [15:56] Gigs Taggart: VWR-2970 is good for potential open source Squirrel
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: !!
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: :)
- [15:56] WarKirby Magojiro: Just keep track of anyone whose settings you change from the default
- [15:56] Squirrel Wood: 2970 is definitely something for open source ^^
- [15:56] Enus Linden: not yet on Leopard, tho will be by end of week
- [15:56] Gigs Taggart: squirrel associate it with the open source meta bug
- [15:57] Bridie Linden: wonders about VWR-2954
- [15:57] Kooky Jetaime: Whoo hoo, VWR-2438 has 10 votes, I'm soo happpy!!
- [15:57] Torley Linden: Haha Kooky!
- [15:57] Gigs Taggart: poeple do use satellite more or less successfully
- [15:57] WarKirby Magojiro: Kooky mentioned a satellite connection
- [15:57] Kooky Jetaime: Torley - its my meta issue regarding an "Advanced" mode
- [15:57] Torley Linden: Yes, those votes do enable me to advocate for issues to our devs...
- [15:57] Torley Linden: *reads Kooky's issue*
- [15:57] Kooky Jetaime: War - VWR-2954, classed as a "Showstopper" bug, due to inability to connect across satellite
- [15:58] Bridie Linden: We're approaching 4pm...thanks all for your continued participation!
- [15:58] Daedalus Young: I've had super-high sim pings, but that never froze my client
- [15:58] Daedalus Young: so that can't be the cause
- [15:58] Bridie Linden: Thx to the Lindens for extra help/input!
- [15:58] Kooky Jetaime: I've worked in 1700ms myself before, albiet horribly.
- [15:58] Torley Linden: Showstoppers as a general principle are likely to affect many Residents en masse... not just "I think it may be happening to others" but "OMG I'M DEFINITELY NOT ALONE, THIS SUCKS!"
- [15:59] Gigs Taggart: yeah, his bug is probably not only latency but someone could associate it with BLT for reference
- [15:59] Gigs Taggart: even if you leave it closed
- [15:59] Aric Linden: why would someone make a sandwich reference?
- [15:59] Kooky Jetaime: yea, closed its there for reference.
- [15:59] Alexa Linden: Thanks everyone for attending today. As usual, all notes and transcripts will be up tomorrow
- [15:59] Torley Linden: BLT = Bandwidth Latency Testing. :)
- [15:59] Gigs Taggart: high latency sandwiches are the best
- [15:59] Alexa Linden: I need to take off to another meeting
- [15:59] Bridie Linden: Now I'm hungry...
- [15:59] Bridie Linden: thx all!
