Agenda

  • [12:08] Aric Linden: shall we start?
  • [12:09] Squirrel Wood: eep
  • [12:09] Squirrel Wood: Alexa's gone!
  • [12:09] Aric Linden: I know.
  • [12:09] Aric Linden: It might've been intentional
  • [12:09] Squirrel Wood: Oh well
  • [12:09] Squirrel Wood: not much of an attendance here today
  • [12:10] Aric Linden: yeah, just the faithful few
  • [12:10] Harleen Gretzky:  :)
  • [12:10] Aric Linden: everyone else has a hangover, I guess
  • [12:10] Harleen Gretzky: lol
  • [12:10] Squirrel Wood: hehe
  • [12:10] Aric Linden: or no one loves me anymore
  • [12:10] Aric Linden: prolly that.
  • [12:10] Aric Linden: gets really sad
  • [12:10] Squirrel Wood: aww
  • [12:11] Aric Linden: sniffs
  • [12:11] Aric Linden: should we start anyway?
  • [12:11] Harleen Gretzky: sure
  • [12:11] Squirrel Wood: How else could we get things done ? :)
  • [12:11] Aric Linden: first up is svc-1405
  • [12:12] Harleen Gretzky: it is?
  • [12:12] Squirrel Wood: I believe there is an agenda today?
  • [12:13] Aric Linden: you're right (both of you)
  • [12:13] Aric Linden: I had the wrong window open
  • [12:13] Aric Linden: is easily confused by tabs
  • [12:13] Squirrel Wood: ^^
  • [12:14] Squirrel Wood: svc-1394 looks like it needs a clarification by a linden as to why this is going in
  • [12:14] Harleen Gretzky: the OP only wants a Linden to resolve it
  • [12:17] Aric Linden: I'd like to import this. at least to inform the internal dialog
  • [12:17] Aric Linden: we did some investigations and found (somewhat suspiciously) that a limited number of users have longer names
  • [12:18] Aric Linden: we don't actually know if that's correct or not
  • [12:18] Aric Linden: so we'll take this one
  • [12:18] Squirrel Wood:  :)
  • [12:18] Aric Linden: nest is MISC-907
  • [12:18] Squirrel Wood: essentially the same
  • [12:18] Squirrel Wood: as the last one
  • [12:18] Aric Linden: yep
  • [12:18] Harleen Gretzky: This is really the | ? issue
  • [12:19] Squirrel Wood: yep
  • [12:19] Aric Linden: Looks like it, Harleen
  • [12:19] Squirrel Wood: I know why I use several different separators...
  • [12:19] Aric Linden: i'll take it as well.
  • [12:19] Aric Linden: looks at squirrel
  • [12:19] Aric Linden: why's that?
  • [12:19] Squirrel Wood: llParseString2List(llGetObjectDesc(),[",","|",";"," "],[]);
  • [12:19] Squirrel Wood: so I can use , ; | or space
  • [12:20] Aric Linden: ahah
  • [12:20] Aric Linden: svc-1415 is next
  • [12:20] Harleen Gretzky: Lookslike Torley has already done something with this one
  • [12:21] Aric Linden: it should be updated as such. we'll do that
  • [12:21] Guen Shan: hi *mews*
  • [12:21] Squirrel Wood: Hellos
  • [12:21] Aric Linden: Hi guen
  • [12:21] Guen Shan: did i miss a lot? ^^
  • [12:22] Aric Linden: not so much, mostly just fallout from the rollout last week
  • [12:22] Aric Linden: we're now on svc-1437
  • [12:22] Squirrel Wood: instead of 1m sensors they could get the link key of the last prim in the linkset and check if it is an agent. works better than sensorsa
  • [12:22] Harleen Gretzky: Torley was busy this morning, looks like
  • [12:23] Aric Linden: yep, he was up early, doing a bunch of stuff
  • [12:23] Aric Linden: I had mail from him at 6 AM
  • [12:23] Guen Shan: Aric, this is my first time on a bug triage meeting, could you tell me the website where i find the discussd bugs please?
  • [12:23] Squirrel Wood: [1]
  • [12:23] Aric Linden: Squirrel is on top of it
  • [12:23] Squirrel Wood: ^^
  • [12:24] Aric Linden: btw, guen, we're always trying to set new records
  • [12:24] Aric Linden: I believe the current record is 25 bugs reviewed in an hour
  • [12:25] Aric Linden: we'll take this one
  • [12:25] Guen Shan: i'm not much into programmers stuff ^^ i'm quite a noob with it ^^
  • [12:25] Aric Linden: boy that roll out really hit hard
  • [12:25] Harleen Gretzky: seems so
  • [12:25] Aric Linden: Guen, I"m not a programmer either. I'm just a geekish guy
  • [12:25] Squirrel Wood: svc-54 is borken again
  • [12:25] Aric Linden: svc-54
  • [12:26] Aric Linden: apparently so
  • [12:26] Aric Linden: this is universally loathed in LL as well
  • [12:26] Aric Linden: we'll take it
  • [12:26] Squirrel Wood: Aye
  • [12:27] Aric Linden: vwr-1286
  • [12:27] Harleen Gretzky: Triaged already
  • [12:27] Squirrel Wood: gigs is still waiting
  • [12:27] Squirrel Wood: Gigs Taggart - 11/Jan/08 07:02 AM OK, if you all have solid reproduction then it probably is the patch. This patch will likely have to be rewritten nearly from scratch for windlight anyway. I'm sorta waiting for windlight to be released before putting too much into this... since Linden Lab is taking about 6 months to get new patches in, there's no point is me rewriting it for the first look.
  • [12:28] Aric Linden: let's skip this one
  • [12:28] Aric Linden: since gigs is waiting for WL on it. WL is moving into beta soon
  • [12:28] Aric Linden: so, svc-155
  • [12:28] Squirrel Wood: ah... the ghostly prims that the sim still believes being there when they have long since been deleted
  • [12:28] Guen Shan: can i trow in a bug, which i think is rather important being solved?
  • [12:28] Aric Linden: sorry. svc-255
  • [12:29] Aric Linden: has it been put into pjira?
  • [12:29] Guen Shan: yes
  • [12:29] Squirrel Wood: a sim restart usually fixes these
  • [12:29] Guen Shan: [2]
  • [12:30] Aric Linden: Squirrel, would you care to update the pjria issue with that suggestion?
  • [12:30] Squirrel Wood: willdo
  • [12:30] Aric Linden: grins at squirrel
  • [12:30] Aric Linden: thanks
  • [12:31] Aric Linden: ok, let's look at vwr-2085
  • [12:31] Guen Shan: thanks
  • [12:32] Aric Linden: are you sure this is critical?
  • [12:32] Aric Linden: I can see it being a major issue
  • [12:32] Guen Shan: for linux user it is very annonying
  • [12:32] Guen Shan: i can't switch off hud
  • [12:32] Squirrel Wood: especially for machinima creators
  • [12:32] Guen Shan: makes filming impossible
  • [12:32] Squirrel Wood: or however movie making is called :p
  • [12:32] Aric Linden: aha
  • [12:32] Aric Linden: ok
  • [12:33] Aric Linden: we'll take it in and have the linux folk take a look
  • [12:33] Guen Shan: thank you *mews*
  • [12:33] Aric Linden: svc-1428 is next
  • [12:33] Squirrel Wood: VWR-2896 would probably solve / provide a workaround for this bug, as Linux users would be able to change the shortcut themselves. [ Show »
  • [12:33] Aric Linden: grins at guen
  • [12:34] Soft Linden: Already imported
  • [12:34] Soft Linden: Torley's pushing this one internally
  • [12:34] Aric Linden: nods at Squirrel
  • [12:34] Aric Linden: hey soft, I didn't see you arrive
  • [12:34] Soft Linden: Just popped in! Got double-booked
  • [12:34] Squirrel Wood: torley was at it again ^^
  • [12:34] Squirrel Wood: Hello Soft :)
  • [12:34] Soft Linden: Hey hey :)
  • [12:35] Aric Linden: yep. i know the feeling
  • [12:35] Aric Linden: (re double borking)
  • [12:35] Squirrel Wood: double booked can be handled... triple booked though... even torley says he needs clones :p
  • [12:35] Aric Linden: let's make sure this gets imported and marked as being worked (i'll work with Alexa on it)
  • [12:35] Aric Linden: There are three known torley's and the same number of milos
  • [12:36] Soft Linden: Dun dun dunnnnn!
  • [12:37] Squirrel Wood: vwr-4444 has patch attached
  • [12:37] Soft Linden: VWR-444 can go directly to Sardonyx Linden
  • [12:37] Soft Linden: VWR-4444
  • [12:37] Aric Linden: k
  • [12:37] Soft Linden: He's doing cmake iterations right now
  • [12:37] Aric Linden: thanks
  • [12:37] Aric Linden: right
  • [12:38] Aric Linden: I'll be saving the chat log for alexa
  • [12:38] changethe Republic: has ended the call. You will now be reconnected to spatial voice chat.
  • [12:38] Connecting to: in-world Voice Chat...
  • [12:38] Guen Shan: lots of 4's ^^
  • [12:38] Connected undefined:
  • [12:38] Aric Linden: she's a little swamped right now
  • [12:38] Soft Linden: VWR-4444444444444
  • [12:38] Guen Shan: ^^
  • [12:38] Aric Linden: better than vwr-6666666
  • [12:38] Soft Linden: We skipped 1286, but that's the one Gigs is still holding off to rewrite after windlight
  • [12:38] Aric Linden: svc-1416
  • [12:38] Harleen Gretzky: It was double-booked too :)
  • [12:39] Harleen Gretzky: we did it under Hot by Vote
  • [12:39] Guen Shan: *mews*
  • [12:39] Aric Linden: heh
  • [12:40] Soft Linden: SVC-1416 - I'm pretty sure there's an internal issue for making pretty much everything unicode - this could be imported and linked to that
  • [12:40] Aric Linden: I"m sure phoenix will be happy to know that strife considers him competent
  • [12:40] Soft Linden: Hahaha
  • [12:40] Squirrel Wood: hmm... has anyone tried xtea encryption on mono yet?
  • [12:40] Soft Linden: Import and *not* assign to Phoenix!
  • [12:40] Aric Linden: grins and agrees with Soft
  • [12:40] Aric Linden: Squirrel, I"m pretty sure the mono team has done that
  • [12:40] Aric Linden: they're pretty competent
  • [12:41] Squirrel Wood: heh
  • [12:41] Aric Linden: falls over
  • [12:41] Squirrel Wood: I still have a script that wrestles down mono to a mere crawl :)
  • [12:41] Aric Linden: svc-234
  • [12:41] Aric Linden: Squirrel, I bet that Vektor Linden would LOVE a look at that
  • [12:41] PersephoneGea Clary: gave you Snapshot : Caribbean Sunset #2 Ivory House , Caribbean Sunset (.
  • [12:42] Soft Linden: SVC-234, I've a strong hunch is a misunderstanding about how object counts work.
  • [12:42] Squirrel Wood: Yes. He wanted to check it out last friday but the update of h4 and mono got in the way
  • [12:42] Soft Linden: An agent/group that owns land gets to use the sum total of all their parcels' object budgets anywhere on the region. So revoking a parcel probably put them over their limit, forcing returns that way.
  • [12:42] Squirrel Wood: so I hope to catch him on the beta grid today
  • [12:43] Aric Linden: great squirrel
  • [12:43] Soft Linden: I can make a note to that effect and ask for a repro if anyone else can make this happen
  • [12:43] Squirrel Wood: 3. I reclaimed one of the parcels owned by someone else's group, and set autoreturn on it to 1 minute. 4. At least three of the ten other parcels owned by different individuals (none of these deeded to group) then immediately had their content returned. One other parcel was empty so it was impossible to determine if it had also been affected.
  • [12:43] Aric Linden: 234 reads like a word problem from 8th grade math
  • [12:43] Aric Linden: if you can make it more "usable" i bet that would help a lot Soft
  • [12:43] Soft Linden: Will do
  • [12:44] Aric Linden: svc-266
  • [12:44] Aric Linden: thanks soft
  • [12:45] Harleen Gretzky: 226
  • [12:45] Aric Linden: whoops, thanks Harleen. I'm bouncing between machines
  • [12:46] Aric Linden: It seems to me that gigs is right here. anyone else?
  • [12:47] Squirrel Wood: hmm
  • [12:48] Squirrel Wood: I'm neither a sim nor a land owner so I can't really comment on this
  • [12:48] Aric Linden: soft?
  • [12:49] Aric Linden: hmm. I think we should take it in and discuss it internally
  • [12:49] Soft Linden: This looks valid.
  • [12:49] Soft Linden: The problem is that a parenthesis shouldn't be in a sim name. Since it is, we should escape those so you can tell the difference between the parenthesis in a name and a coordinate.
  • [12:50] Soft Linden: Can import and go to triage - not sure exactly which studio it's best for.
  • [12:50] Squirrel Wood: mayhaps add a spacer / separator for the coordinates ?
  • [12:50] Aric Linden: ok
  • [12:50] Soft Linden: Well, escaping or encoding it is probably the right solution if we potentially go to unicode later
  • [12:51] Aric Linden: the next one svc-214 can go to havok
  • [12:51] Aric Linden: should go to sidewiner
  • [12:51] Squirrel Wood: yep
  • [12:52] Aric Linden: erm sidewinder svc-156 is next
  • [12:52] Squirrel Wood: sorting by date essentially triggers a reordering of the contents.... and thus the "reverse" dates in this case
  • [12:52] Soft Linden: SVC-156 - sorting is even more screwed up than that.
  • [12:53] Aric Linden: nods
  • [12:53] Guen Shan: indeed it is ^^
  • [12:53] Soft Linden: It's a strict lexicographical sort - so 1/1/08 comes "before" 2/1/07
  • [12:53] Guen Shan: yeah the dates go wrong too ^^
  • [12:53] Soft Linden: I'll add a comment on that too - but this could go in.
  • [12:53] Aric Linden: I'm not sure when this would ever be looked at but it's worth taking
  • [12:53] Squirrel Wood: besides there's different date formats... mmddyyyy or ddmmyyyy
  • [12:53] Aric Linden: jinx
  • [12:53] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [12:53] Squirrel Wood: german language clients should use mmddyyyy
  • [12:53] Squirrel Wood: as that is the common notation in germany
  • [12:54] Squirrel Wood: err... ddmmyyyy
  • [12:54] Guen Shan: ddmmyyyy ^^
  • [12:54] Aric Linden: well, we could come up with a complicated mapping algorithm and then sort internally
  • [12:54] Squirrel Wood: is all cnfuzzled now :p
  • [12:54] Aric Linden: we use yyyymmdd internally
  • [12:54] Soft Linden: Should just sort the dates by value instead of as strings.
  • [12:54] Soft Linden: Yeah, or moving to that date format would fix it too
  • [12:55] Aric Linden: so just build a mapping table and then sort internally and order date lists by our sort
  • [12:55] Squirrel Wood: ^^
  • [12:55] Soft Linden: Edited it down to small priority though
  • [12:56] Squirrel Wood: still wants to see names on the friends list in different colors depending on when they last logged in... to make cleaning up the lsit easier..
  • [12:56] Squirrel Wood: should probably jira it...
  • [12:56] Guen Shan: you could jira the whole friendlist ^^
  • [12:56] Aric Linden: we'll take it and figure it out. misc-741 is next
  • [12:56] Guen Shan: there could be a lot of improvement for the friendlist ^^
  • [12:57] Soft Linden: Squirrel - consider just asking for a date column that's click-sortable? Now that the friendlist is horizontal aspect, there's a ton of room anyway.
  • [12:57] Soft Linden: MISC-741 isn't really just a kart problem.
  • [12:57] Aric Linden: yeah
  • [12:57] Squirrel Wood: might do that.
  • [12:57] Aric Linden: but I can't tell if it's havok1 or havok4
  • [12:57] Aric Linden: I'll talk to dan a bout this one
  • [12:57] Soft Linden: We allow people to go 2-4m off-world assuming a steep drop off as the collision model between regions.
  • [12:58] Aric Linden: it should be taken in and assigned to me
  • [12:58] Soft Linden: That's a havok1 problem, but 4 could perhaps fix it
  • [12:58] Aric Linden: I suspect dan is traking it to see if havok 4 fixes it
  • [12:58] Harleen Gretzky: SVC-156 is actually a dupe, btw
  • [12:58] Squirrel Wood: the script may check llGround() and compare it to its own z position...
  • [12:58] Squirrel Wood: which would explain it not working on prim bridges that are more than 2m above ground
  • [12:59] Aric Linden: 411 should be taken in and assigned to Jeff Linden
  • [12:59] Harleen Gretzky: dupe of VWR-4137
  • [12:59] Soft Linden: 411 is interesting. And Buckaroo's no dummy. Yeah
  • [12:59] Guen Shan: 411 doesn't have anything to do which html-search slowing down the viewer?
  • [12:59] Guen Shan: *with
  • [13:00] Squirrel Wood: html search just might have that analytic stuff in too
  • [13:00] Guen Shan: i see
  • [13:01] Guen Shan: when i click on search fps drop
  • [13:01] Aric Linden: web-409 should be taken in and assigned to Morpheus
  • [13:01] Soft Linden: 409 looked like a support issue to me - I already left a comment - undo?
  • [13:01] Aric Linden: no that's fine
  • [13:02] Aric Linden: it may end up being a support issue, but I think Lux wants and needs to know how users are using billing stuff and what issues they see
  • [13:02] Aric Linden: yeah?
  • [13:02] Soft Linden: Ah, gotcha!
  • [13:02] Squirrel Wood: hmm.. getting reports in group chat that teleports are failing again
  • [13:02] Soft Linden: Could still import, but leave it resolved as such externally.
  • [13:02] Aric Linden: thanks folks
  • [13:03] Aric Linden: hmm
  • [13:03] Aric Linden: let's see
  • [13:03] Harleen Gretzky: money transactions as well
  • [13:03] Soft Linden: Yeah - I see a concurrency dropoff - they ought to be jumping right on that
  • [13:04] Soft Linden: Poof!
  • [13:04] Guen Shan: Soft, yeah i'm having issues with tp'ing the last few days too
  • [13:04] Guen Shan: lots of tp's lead to a crash
  • [13:04] Torrid Luna: oh, hi^^
  • [13:04] Aric Linden: any pattern?
  • [13:04] Squirrel Wood: not really
  • [13:05] Guen Shan: it's quite random
  • [13:05] Squirrel Wood: it is usually too late to abort a tp when it becomes obvious that it will fail
  • [13:05] Guen Shan: i noticed it happens more often when tp'ing from a slow/full sim
  • [13:05] Squirrel Wood: from / to
  • [13:06] Aric Linden: interesting
  • [13:06] Guen Shan: no specific locations
  • [13:06] Guen Shan: it does it randomly
  • [13:07] Squirrel Wood: beta viewer loading................................................................
  • [13:07] Squirrel Wood: /ao on
  • [13:08] Squirrel Wood: POKE!!!!
