Agenda --RAT Quan 15:29, 30 September 2008 (PDT)how the hell do you report that you cant log on ??????
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: we're working off the lovely agenda Harleen did for us :)
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: first up is SVC-2443[c
- [12:08] Gellan Glenelg: I'm getting this a lot
- [12:08] Harleen Gretzky: This is very easily reproducable for me anyway, hover for 15 seconds, and it takes like 5 seconds before you can move
- [12:08] Bridie Linden: Dupe of SVC-1937?
- [12:08] Bridie Linden: Andrew is working on these issues
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: there are quite a few of these
- [12:09] Harleen Gretzky: This is only since 1.22.1 update
- [12:09] Squirrel Wood: sounds like lag issues to me...
- [12:09] Harleen Gretzky: NO lag at the time
- [12:09] Squirrel Wood: I do get choppy behavior after logging in for a while
- [12:09] Squirrel Wood: while the client deals with the cache
- [12:09] Gellan Glenelg: it's definitely only been noticable in the past few days, to me
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: packet loss ?
- [12:10] Harleen Gretzky: I have never had it consistent like this
- [12:10] Bridie Linden: We're working on fixes
- [12:10] Harleen Gretzky: No packet loss at the time either
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: hmmm
- [12:10] Bridie Linden: Expect to roll to Preview Grid to test out fixes soon-ish
- [12:10] Bridie Linden: later today or tomorrow...
- [12:10] Harleen Gretzky: Always happens for me no matter what as long as my altitude is low
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: using a flight assist?
- [12:11] Gellan Glenelg: with OR without
- [12:11] Harleen Gretzky: doesn't matter tried with and without
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: is there on that you know that's imported Bridie?
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: is SVC-1937?
- [12:11] Bridie Linden: yup
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: tie this and the next issue to that then?
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: which is VWR-7556[c
- [12:12] Harleen Gretzky: 1937 is pre-1.22.1 though
- [12:13] Harleen Gretzky: There are quite a few forum threads on this issue also, so it is quite wide-spread
- [12:13] Harleen Gretzky: Try it here, hover for 15 seconds see if you can take off right away
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: geesh
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: point proven :p
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: yup - get stuck going u puntil I reach a certain point
- [12:15] Squirrel Wood: Odd.
- [12:15] Squirrel Wood: No problems here
- [12:15] Squirrel Wood: YAY for <0,0,0> sit :(
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: gah.
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: <6,-1,-1> sit :(
- [12:16] Harleen Gretzky: Don;t know if it is true, but someone said in one of the groups that Andrew is aware
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: then do we want to mark these first 2 as triaged and make some kind of a note?
- [12:17] Harleen Gretzky: sounds good
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: bridie, Aric?
- [12:17] Aric Linden: and ask andrew explicitly if he knows about the issue
- [12:17] Bridie Linden: nods
- [12:18] Bridie Linden: is pinging Sidewinder right now, too
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:18] Aric Linden: yea bridie
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: shall me move on?
- [12:20] Bridie Linden: Let's!
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: SVC-2359[c
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: How many people suffer from this ?
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: I would think many designers and content creators
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: since they get so many IMs
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: I have never had this personally
- [12:23] Nya Linden: I've had it happen.
- [12:24] Aric Linden: Let's import it and assign it to triage
- [12:24] Harleen Gretzky: My IMs capp regualrly but I fortunately have never had this happen to me
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:24] Aric Linden: I don't know where it will fall in the queue, but it's worth the discussion internally, i think
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: next up - VWR-5791[c
- [12:26] Squirrel Wood: opengl and number of lights limiting there?
- [12:27] Aric Linden: we should import
- [12:27] Aric Linden: i know steve has been doing some stuff with flycam
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: assign to steve then?
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: SVC-2426[c
- [12:28] Bridie Linden: Let's assign to triage
- [12:29] Bridie Linden: prev one
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:29] Aric Linden: right
- [12:30] Bridie Linden: Should be fixed in 1.22.1? Enviro listed is Second Life Server 1.22.0.88357
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: post to try latest RC?
- [12:31] Bridie Linden: server patch that went out last week
- [12:31] Gellan Glenelg: title is "stopped working with update 1.22.1"
- [12:32] Bridie Linden: Yeah, Gellan, that's why I'm a little confused...
- [12:32] Bridie Linden: Let's ask them to retry and report back
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:32] Aric Linden: bridie, didn't 1.22 roll back?
- [12:32] Harleen Gretzky: I fixed the title in the agenda it is 121 in the JIRA
- [12:32] Bridie Linden: no, we patched and re-rolled 1.22.1 :)
- [12:33] Harleen Gretzky: I may have fixed it wrong
- [12:33] Gellan Glenelg: ahhh
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: ok - I'll ask to try again w/ latest RC and repost back
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: report*
- [12:33] Bridie Linden: [1]
- [12:33] Aric Linden: ahh
- [12:33] Aric Linden: thanks bridie
- [12:33] Bridie Linden: np
- [12:33] Aric Linden: hands bridie a silver sart
- [12:33] Bridie Linden: silver?
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: next is
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: VWR-7329[c
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: out of gold ones? :p
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:34] Bridie Linden: dang, I'll try harder...
- [12:34] Aric Linden: it wasn't worth gold
- [12:34] Aric Linden: she's basically reminding me how stupid I am
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: rc7... aren't we on rc8 now? ^^
- [12:34] Aric Linden: nudges his pal and grins
- [12:34] Harleen Gretzky: This is fixed with RC8 isn't it?
- [12:35] Bridie Linden: :P
- [12:35] Bridie Linden: Should be Harleen...
- [12:35] Bridie Linden: I think a few more tweaks are coming, though
- [12:35] Sheet Spotter: It seems to be. I find the wait times on RC8 seem longer.
- [12:36] Sheet Spotter: It takes longer to get past the first logon message.
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: so what action on this one?
- [12:37] Aric Linden: import and assign to triage
- [12:37] Aric Linden: please
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: SVC-1060[c
- [12:37] Gellan Glenelg: "Procyon Games" doesn't show
- [12:38] Gellan Glenelg: this is an OLD issue tho (december)
- [12:38] Aric Linden: let's ask if it's still an issue
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:38] Bridie Linden: oldy mcold
- [12:38] Harleen Gretzky: This is an old case, but with HTML search in RC8 people are seeing the fact that new search takes like 24 hours to update
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: hahahah
- [12:39] Aric Linden: sorry. I need to go AFK for a moment
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: np
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: next - VWR-6352[c
- [12:40] Harleen Gretzky: This is already assigned to Andrew
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [12:40] Bridie Linden: but we haven't imported it...
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: but
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: right
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: I'll import
- [12:40] Harleen Gretzky: Just no LL ID so I guess it still shows up
- [12:41] Bridie Linden: ty
- [12:41] Bridie Linden: but assign to triage to start, pls Alexa
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:41] Bridie Linden: I've had the bouncy camera too, but not sure if it's related to other issues...
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: SVC-126[c
- [12:42] Bridie Linden: hmms
- [12:42] Bridie Linden: jas - I think I heard something about this one...
- [12:43] Squirrel Wood: ah... the map turning grey all of a sudden and then staying that way until suddenly it decides to reload the images...
- [12:43] Squirrel Wood: or the map reloading every image over and over again whenever you open it ...
- [12:43] Sheet Spotter: What is the "normal" time for changes to the sim to appear on the map?
- [12:44] Squirrel Wood: other times I see a grey map and just some sims loading...
- [12:44] Gellan Glenelg: screenshot added today. I see map for that set of resgions... if they're still seeing it as grey, it's not that it's not updated... cached grey images maybe?
- [12:44] Squirrel Wood: the map is very, very borken.
- [12:45] Sheet Spotter: Terraforming on the Absentia sim was changed a week ago. I'm still seeing an old map image.
- [12:45] Bridie Linden: I'm not sure what is typical Sheet
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: ya, I know one sim that took a month to update it's image
- [12:45] Bridie Linden: let's move on, I'll try and follow up on this one
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:46] Gellan Glenelg: it's not unusual for it to take several weeks to update, sheet
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: VWR-7403[c
- [12:46] Sheet Spotter: Cool. Thank you.
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: dup of VWR-7400?
- [12:47] Gellan Glenelg: 7400 is mac, 7403 windows?
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: ooh true ty
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: still reviewing both
- [12:47] Gellan Glenelg: tho it's all got a bit confued.. VWR-7400, VWR-7403, VWR-7417
- [12:48] Bridie Linden: nods
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: ya, people are jumping in with whatever machine they have
- [12:48] Bridie Linden: I believe PPC issues have been addressed for next RC
- [12:48] Ellla McMahon: its getting muddled with the 2 goes login issue too
- [12:49] Gellan Glenelg: yeah - that's VWR-7069
- [12:49] Ellla McMahon: I would like to see if there are any Windows users who can;t login at all
- [12:49] Ellla McMahon: I don;t think any have actually been reported
- [12:49] Sheet Spotter: Is the viewer going to issue crash reports for these "unable to login" scenarios?
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: Gigs :D
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: any action on this one Bridie?
- [12:50] Bridie Linden: Ellla, 7403 was reported on Vista
- [12:50] Squirrel Wood: wb Gigs
- [12:50] Gigs Taggart: ctrl-h is not the same as ctrl-shift-h
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: WB Gigs :)
- [12:50] Harleen Gretzky: pet peeve: how can not logging in using an OPTIONAL viewer be a showstopper
- [12:50] Gellan Glenelg: lol Gigs
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
- [12:50] Gellan Glenelg: agreed Harleen
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: people like to ignore the word "optional" and "release candidate" :p
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:51] Gellan Glenelg: if it's THEIR issue, it MUST be a showstopper!
- [12:51] Bridie Linden: Alexa, let's import
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: optional == official, mandatory client
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: will do - triage?
- [12:51] Harleen Gretzky: so true Gellan
- [12:51] Bridie Linden: let's ask QA to try on vista
- [12:52] Bridie Linden: pls
- [12:52] Nekololi Woodget: unless they were trying to build something higher than the old build height, and now can't get in on the newest RC
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: MISC-1231[c
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: oh ya
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: heard about this in the forums
- [12:53] Harleen Gretzky: Though the bug reproductions on this are funny, not really a bug
- [12:53] Gigs Taggart: I'm not sure we can do anything about it here.
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I can assign to Gteam?
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: O.o
- [12:53] Gigs Taggart: But someone really should reply in an official capacity
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I'll give them credit for keeping it to topic
- [12:54] Gellan Glenelg: sounds like something for Robin, to me
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: I'll tak to gteam/robin about this
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: talk*
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: I give them credit
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: for keeping it on topic
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: not being ranty
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: on to patched
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: patches*
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: VWR-7362[c
- [12:56] Gigs Taggart: Is that meaningful?
- [12:56] Gellan Glenelg: isn't LSL still meant to be frozen until mono is released?
- [12:56] Gigs Taggart: Is empty string a valid key?
- [12:56] Squirrel Wood: not much use methinks
- [12:56] Gellan Glenelg: it saves a few bytes I believe
- [12:56] Squirrel Wood: an empty string is no valid key anyway
- [12:56] Bridie Linden: Rob just commented last week...
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: marking with triaged date then
- [12:57] Bridie Linden: "A small group of us looked at this, and would like to see more discussion/votes before importing.
- [ Show » ]]
- Rob Linden - 27/May/08 09:20 AM A small group of us looked at this, and would like to see more discussion/votes before importing."
- [12:57] Gigs Taggart: This may be irrelevant when mono comes around
- [12:57] Bridie Linden: (ack, sorry for double paste ty jira_
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: ya
- [12:57] Gigs Taggart: The beginning of the discussion in the forums at least, assumes a non-optimizing compiler
- [12:57] Gigs Taggart: I don't know if that context continues or not.
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: last one for today
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: VWR-1363[c
- [12:58] Gigs Taggart: That sound valid to me. I know I have a lot of edge cases when clicking on something is hard.
- [12:58] Squirrel Wood: its already in the pie menu...
- [12:58] Gigs Taggart: It's for when you may not be able to context menu it easily Squirrel
- [12:58] Gellan Glenelg: personally, I've never had a problem finding the object to return, but this might make things easier for people without good camera control
- [12:58] Squirrel Wood: as for hard selections => draw a box around the object
- [12:59] Gellan Glenelg: s/finding/clicking on/
- [12:59] Gigs Taggart: if you draw a box around it, but you can't pick it, then you can't return it
- [12:59] Gigs Taggart: that's what this patch fixes
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: bridie?
- [12:59] Bridie Linden: Seems handy
- [12:59] Bridie Linden: Let's import
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: noted
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: and that's it for today!
- [13:00] Bridie Linden: Thx all!
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: thank you all for coming - I'll try to get this all marked up this afternoon :D
