- [12:01] Aleric Inglewood: sit
- [12:01] Khyota Wulluf: yay come join the rest ot us!
- [12:01] Sacha Swindlehurst: purrs softly
- [12:01] Sacha Swindlehurst: ^VV^^V^PuRRrSss^VV^^V
- [12:01] Alexa Linden: Hi Sacha :D
- [12:01] Sacha Swindlehurst: hi alexa
- [12:01] Alexa Linden: you are welcome to use the black recliner :)
- [12:02] Sacha Swindlehurst: yes but the tiny seats are a problem..?
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: ahh yes
- [12:02] Sacha Swindlehurst: i mean does it suit my anims
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: for the poco locos :(
- [12:02] Sacha Swindlehurst: so i prefer to stand
- [12:02] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, is it a conflict of interest to put your own issues on the agenda?
- [12:02] Sacha Swindlehurst: this corner seems ok
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: nope :)
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: plug away
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:03] Gordon Wendt: I may add one to the very end then, I just found it this morning but very unsure of it
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: or we can start off with it too
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: so we remember it
- [12:03] Squirrel Wood: Hellos Kona
- [12:03] Bridie Linden: thx for asking Gordon
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: can you paste the url?
- [12:03] Gordon Wendt: [1]
- [12:03] Kona Linden: Hiya folks!
- [12:03] Bridie Linden: Hi Kona!
- [12:03] Aleric Inglewood: I find every 10 minutes... but I didn't figure out yet how to add it to the agenda :p
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: Hi Kona :D
- [12:04] Aleric Inglewood: one and the same, I mean
- [12:04] Aleric Inglewood: (If I suddenly disappear then my client crashed)
- [12:06] Bridie Linden: Gordon, did u try on any 1.25 regions on aditi?
- [12:06] Bridie Linden: wonders if we could ask Vektor to take a look...
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: I can send it to him for a look bridie
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: via IM
- [12:06] Bridie Linden: great, thx
- [12:07] Gordon Wendt: I'll try to repro it on 1.25 after the meeting
- [12:07] Bridie Linden: thx Gordon
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: first up
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8654
- [12:09] Gellan Glenelg: Is it a dupe of https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7779 ?
- [12:09] Bridie Linden: dupe of 7779 i think
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: that's what I was wondering
- [12:09] Bridie Linden: ooh 'Hold on to your horses..... 10.5.6 HAS fixed this problem.'
- [12:10] Kerry Giha: That is a pretty recent comment
- [12:11] Bridie Linden: I'd rresolve as dupe tho
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6702
- [12:12] Joeseph Albanese: dupe?
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: back to dup of VWR-2997?
- [12:12] Bridie Linden: i think so
- [12:12] Gordon Wendt: reopened afterwards though
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:13] Gordon Wendt: but it does seem like a duplicate
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: ya, he liked re-opening mine :)
- [12:13] Gordon Wendt: I believe he was actually banned from the JIRA some time ago
- [12:13] Bridie Linden: thought there was one for mem leak + minimized
- [12:13] Joeseph Albanese: Classic feeling like he was brushed under the carpet
- [12:14] Gordon Wendt: 2997 I believe has become somewhat of a meta issue for the memory leak issues
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:14] Bridie Linden: nods
- [12:15] Kona Linden: Ok kiddies, next on the list is: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2997
- [12:15] Gordon Wendt: I put that up there not really as an issue more as an informational link
- [12:15] Kona Linden: ahhh
- [12:15] Gordon Wendt: so that we knew about it quickly when dealing with VWR-6702
- [12:16] Gordon Wendt: although if you Lindens have any updates on the constant memory leaks I think everyone would be happy to hear them :)
- [12:16] Kona Linden: makes sense =)
- [12:16] Ellla McMahon: could be linked to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8841
- [12:16] Robin Cornelius: IMHO memory leaks have reduced
- [12:17] Aleric Inglewood: I'm the author of libcwd (C++ debug support library). I intend to at least locally link libcwd to the opensource viewer, then it shouldn't be hard to find leaks.
- [12:17] Kona Linden: It was my understanding that memory leaks have been reduced, but I do hear reports time to time there are still issue with some folks
- [12:17] Khyota Wulluf: !
- [12:17] Bridie Linden: Coool Aleric
- [12:18] Gordon Wendt: Oh I agree but there is still the issue of SL using progressively more memory which essentially requires restart every x amount of time (where x is based off your ram capacity) due to SL
- [12:18] Kona Linden: nice Aleric
- [12:18] Gordon Wendt: one sec and I'll find an issue on it, I know there were a few floating around last time I looked
- [12:18] Khyota Wulluf: smartheap one?
- [12:19] Gordon Wendt: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1740 deals with tping causing increased memory footprint
- [12:19] Squirrel Wood: I do notice freezes after SL running for some time while it fetches stuff from the swapfile that it could easily keep in ram as that stuff is needed when turning around anyway
- [12:19] Squirrel Wood: and it gets worse the longer SL runs. So that could be some form of a leak too
- [12:19] Gordon Wendt: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2477
- [12:20] Gordon Wendt: is a short periods of use one
- [12:20] Gordon Wendt: both of these seem to be being tracked internally
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: good searching Gordon
- [12:20] Kona Linden: that looks like a good one to link to 6702
- [12:21] Gordon Wendt: Alexa give me a little while and I could probably find you a few more, these are only the narrow unresolveds, there are quite a few broader ones that touch on memory issues
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: will do Kona
- [12:21] Gordon Wendt: normally phrased in the forum of "OMG SL KEEPS RANDOMLY CRASHING ON ME"
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
- [12:21] Gordon Wendt: *form
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: forum worked too :p
- [12:21] Kona Linden: Nice!
- [12:21] Robin Cornelius: the problem is none of the memory leak jira's provide any clue to the sources
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: Sign here ________________________ to sign up for your fair share of planned random crashes today!
- [12:22] Gordon Wendt: Should be easier now that viewer is open source to find them but I think the nature of these can be somewhat elusive
- [12:22] Kerry Giha: The cause is probably a Synergy of various little things.
- [12:22] Robin Cornelius: they are very elusive
- [12:22] Robin Cornelius: i've spend hours in valgrid/gdb and using tcmalloc
- [12:22] Gordon Wendt: I know Nicholaz has been searching for quite awhile to find all the little leaks
- [12:23] Kona Linden: sounds like much of them at the very root are related, but I know it's on the devs radar
- [12:23] Kona Linden: let's move onto the next one: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3259
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: so this has been triaged
- [12:23] Sacha Swindlehurst: i ran that for over 10 months now.. and it generally keeps me up for 8+hours crashless. so i guess nicholaz did an ok job there
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: we asked for more crash reports
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: and have a comment regarding that request
- [12:24] Kona Linden: nice
- [12:24] Gordon Wendt: Kona, possibly linked to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2340 which is later on the agenda?
- [12:24] Gellan Glenelg: I think it's more a "you have been logged out"/grey screen issue tho - so there won't be crash reports
- [12:24] Kona Linden: Dakota Schwade commented
- [12:24] Bridie Linden: Here's the minimize memory leak i was thinking of earlier: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8610
- [12:24] Kona Linden: Gordon, sounds appropriate =)
- [12:25] Gordon Wendt: If you can link those I'll make a note to try to do a hunt later for related
- [12:25] Gordon Wendt: Another issue where I know there are quite a few
- [12:25] Joeseph Albanese: The Netgear RP614v4 has some known stall issues. I use to have one and trashed it.
- [12:25] Gordon Wendt: actually matter of fact, will create a Meta issue right now for teleport/region handoff issues
- [12:25] Robin Cornelius: local caching DNS can prevent some stalls
- [12:26] Joeseph Albanese: It had MTU setting issues
- [12:26] Gellan Glenelg: did someone ping soft on this after last triage?
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: I can ping again
- [12:26] Kona Linden: Thanks Alexa
- [12:27] Kona Linden: Next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2464
- [12:27] Gordon Wendt: Please link those teleport issues to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3366 btw
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: thanks Gordon
- [12:27] Gordon Wendt: actually nm
- [12:27] Gordon Wendt: already a meta for that
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:28] Gordon Wendt: VWR-9999 is the proper one to link to
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:28] Kona Linden: hmmm...2464 sounds familiar...
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: yes, we wanted more info
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: drew posted
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: isn't that just lag
- [12:29] Kona Linden: yeah, still having issues
- [12:29] Kona Linden: that is what I was thinking
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: unless it's a specific issue it seems that that is just works as intended as best as possible when avatars load up a sim
- [12:29] Kona Linden: and lag is caused by several types of issues unfortunately
- [12:29] Gellan Glenelg: is this something more than "lots of avatars need lots of processing, therefore lag"?
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: I'd suggest needs more info
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: since there's no detail in that
- [12:30] Kona Linden: I curious as to what his hardware setup is...
- [12:30] Gordon Wendt: oh, nm
- [12:30] Gordon Wendt: "Sim Time (Other)" which is not able to be reduced even after restart, consistent pushing the total sim time over 22ms.
- [12:30] Gordon Wendt: that is an issue
- [12:30] Gordon Wendt: if restart isn't fixing it
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: what' specifically should I ask for?
- [12:30] Kona Linden: Alexa, can you ask what hardware he/she is running?
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: it's patch time!
- [12:31] Kona Linden: If Drew is running a mainstream graphics card, that could truly impact how well everything performs when the sim Drew is in is loaded to the gils with AVs
- [12:31] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:31] Kona Linden: patchy time it is
- [12:32] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9557
- [12:32] Kona Linden: Fedora...
- [12:32] Robin Cornelius: yea nvidia hl.h headers are broken, this patches it so you can compile with mesa or nvidia gl.h
- [12:32] Robin Cornelius: not just fedora all linux with nvidia
- [12:32] Kona Linden: nice
- [12:32] Robin Cornelius: *glh
- [12:33] Robin Cornelius: we hit it on debian frequently too
- [12:33] Kona Linden: Soft commented as well
- [12:34] Kona Linden: Alexa, can you ping Soft to see if he has any response to Michelle's latest comments?
- [12:34] Robin Cornelius: Only patched a few days ago but it fixes compile for me with nvidia's headers
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: will do :)
- [12:34] Kona Linden: k next...
- [12:34] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9473
- [12:34] Aleric Inglewood: Help -> Lag Meter also shows '300 - 600 ms network lag' (or what where the numbers) when there is no lag at all, but the client has a very low frame rate
- [12:35] Squirrel Wood: where is the user located?
- [12:35] Squirrel Wood: If its on the other side of the planet and the connection isn't all too fast then there'll be about 150 to 300ms of lag all the time
- [12:36] Aleric Inglewood: Like I said, there is no lag.
- [12:36] Phillip Vought: UK to SFO connections will get 150ms extra lag..
- [12:36] Kona Linden: bah, my connection just dropped...then came back on...lol
- [12:36] Squirrel Wood: london => new york adds about 100ms for me all the time
- [12:36] Aleric Inglewood: Not on the network anyway. The indication is wrong with you have like 2 fps.
- [12:36] Aleric Inglewood: s/with/if/
- [12:36] Kona Linden: anyone on Mac see this issue re: 9473?
- [12:36] Khyota Wulluf: i may have made a mistake
- [12:37] Kona Linden: Khyota did make some proposals
- [12:37] Kona Linden: ahhhh
- [12:37] Khyota Wulluf: thiking it was the same as the linux one
- [12:37] Gellan Glenelg: the patch is missing tho (possibly when the DB got corrupted)
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: I can ask for it to be re-attached
- [12:38] Kona Linden: Khyota, did you link 9966, 2085, 9473 as well?
- [12:38] Khyota Wulluf: yes
- [12:38] Kona Linden: kk, nice...ty
- [12:38] Gordon Wendt: sorry about that, sl pulled an sl, what are we on now?
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9473
- [12:39] Gordon Wendt: thanks
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:39] Kona Linden: VWR-9473
- [12:39] Kona Linden: shall we move onto the Misc set now...?
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:40] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1424
- [12:40] Phillip Vought: Kona, when you get to the end of the scheduled list, if you have time I'd like to discuss SVC-2755
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: so this is assigned to andrew
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: but not imported
- [12:40] Kona Linden: Phillip, sure thing =)
- [12:40] Bridie Linden: Andrew commented last week
- [12:40] Kona Linden: ahhh, it's on Preview grid
- [12:41] Kona Linden: that one was pesky
- [12:41] Bridie Linden: mark this one fix pending?
- [12:41] Joeseph Albanese: Yeah its fixed in 1.25 for sure
- [12:41] Gellan Glenelg: related to the yoyo one?
- [12:41] Bridie Linden: or dupe of that one?
- [12:41] Kona Linden: not sure it's the same as the yoyo one though
- [12:41] Bridie Linden: List o' 1.25 fixes: [2]
- [12:42] Kona Linden: ty, Bridie!
- [12:42] Bridie Linden: np
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: change to fix pending?
- [12:42] Gordon Wendt: Bridie, is there a timetable on when that's going live on agni btw?
- [12:42] Kona Linden: fix pending sounds right
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:43] Kona Linden: while Bridie follows up on that, next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9326
- [12:43] Joeseph Albanese: Thursday, November 6
- 8:00pm
- 1.25 pilot rolling restart (tentative)
- [12:43] Gordon Wendt: ok cool
- [12:43] Bridie Linden: nods
- [12:43] Khyota Wulluf: this one should be moved to SVC
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: I can move and mark fix pending
- [12:44] Kona Linden: VWR-9326?
- [12:44] Gordon Wendt: Hasn't this been a persistant issue at least since the sky limit was raised?
- [12:44] Bridie Linden: BTW, [3]
- [12:44] Joeseph Albanese: Yes and it ties to the issue where LM's don't work at that height too I think
- [12:44] Gordon Wendt: ugh
- [12:45] Kona Linden: Joeseph, I believe you're correct
- [12:45] Joeseph Albanese: and slurls
- [12:45] Khyota Wulluf: its being fixed in 1.25?
- [12:45] Gordon Wendt: With all due respect Lindens while amazing the sky limit has caused no end of problems because not all the systems were changed to recognize the new lmit and from what I've read it seems like certain things were hardwired or made basic assumptions that the lmit would stay the same
- [12:46] Gordon Wendt: I would say if I can be brutually honest but I think it's too late for that :)
- [12:46] Kona Linden: Gordon, it appears VWR-6484 is being worked on and chances are, it's gonna be one piece at a time
- [12:47] Kona Linden: I don't see any comment from anyone just yet on VWR-9326
- [12:47] Gordon Wendt: I'll make a note to do my own check on that as well and if I can make it to next week's triage I'll see if I can get a list for you Kona on other extant issues with that
- [12:47] Bridie Linden: I think Bambers did some investigation too
- [12:47] Kona Linden: Gordon, thanks so much =)
- [12:48] Khyota Wulluf: thanks!
- [12:48] Kona Linden: next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7792
- [12:48] Gellan Glenelg: same issue?
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: seems like it
- [12:48] Khyota Wulluf: its not
- [12:49] Khyota Wulluf: simlar though
- [12:49] Kona Linden: hmmm...this is different if it's what I recall this to be...
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: oh ya
- [12:49] Kona Linden: this sounds like an old bug per Ramzi's comment
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: let me go check
- [12:50] Kona Linden: it shouldn't be 0 for the z coordinate
- [12:50] Robin Cornelius: any idea if this is a viewer or a server sending the 0
- [12:50] Robin Cornelius: *viewer bug
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: comes up zero
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: could it be sent correct but the viewer just ignoring it ?
- [12:51] Robin Cornelius: just testing that now
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: that's right
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: when I mouse over it
- [12:52] Kona Linden: hmmm, Alexa, when you try locating someone, it says 0 for z coordinate?
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: it has x,y,z
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: when I hit it
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: the inworld buttons is x,y and no z
- [12:52] Gordon Wendt: Just a note on the next one on your list, VWR-10069, just removed it from the agenda as it was already resolved, missed it on my earlier scrub of resolved needs more info but unupdated since issues
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: same results of 6 friends
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: which skin, alexa? it doesn't repro for me on classic skin, 1.21.6
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: thanks Gordon
- [12:53] Kona Linden: TY, Gordon!
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I'm on dazzle
- [12:53] Gellan Glenelg: as is the reporter
- [12:53] Kona Linden: Alexa, I'm not getting that...odd
- [12:53] Gellan Glenelg: could it be it only affects dazzle??
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: does it repro for you on that
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: that's really odd
- [12:53] Gellan Glenelg: lemme switch... brb
- [12:53] Squirrel Wood: repros for me
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I can add this to the comment
- [12:53] Squirrel Wood: on dazzle
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: who would I send to?
- [12:54] Gordon Wendt: Gellan, please let that not be true lest it open up a pandora's box
- [12:54] Kona Linden: hmmmm...now I'm seeing it
- [12:54] Cummere Mayo: hi sorry for being late. was meeting with enus
- [12:54] Khyota Wulluf: robin can u enable me to see u in map?
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: Yay Team Triage!
- [12:54] Kona Linden: gah...lemme try locating my other friends...lool
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: so it seems to be dazzle only
- [12:55] Squirrel Wood: perchance only a mistyped variable somewhere ?
- [12:55] Multi Gadget: v1.55.2 by Timeless Prototype
- [12:55] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, didn't even know that was even possible since aren't skins only XML files and a few other things
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ya, this is a new one for me too
- [12:55] Kona Linden: Hey, Alexa, ping Steve on this one please
- [12:55] Cummere Mayo: i can repo that
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: would never have thought about the skin making the difference
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: will do Kona
- [12:56] Kona Linden: TY
- [12:56] Kona Linden: next up...
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: you all rock!
- [12:56] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10069
- [12:56] Gordon Wendt: Can you bounce that to your UI people because unless it's an edge case that means that we need to start looking at a whole new angle of possible problems for this type of issue
- [12:56] Squirrel Wood: is resolved nmi
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: ack
- [12:57] Gordon Wendt: Yeah 10069 is the one I just removed it's resolved needs more info but no updates since
- [12:57] Kona Linden: kk
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: let's get phillip's issue for the last of the day
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2755
- [12:57] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10136
- [12:57] Kona Linden: oops
- [12:57] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:57] Multi Gadget: v1.55.2 by Timeless Prototype
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: wanted to get it before we poofed :p
- [12:58] Kona Linden: TY, Alexa!
- [12:58] Joeseph Albanese: Oh please import that nightmare.
- [12:58] Gordon Wendt: which one?
- [12:58] Joeseph Albanese: SVC-2755
- [12:58] Gellan Glenelg: ok - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7792 is NOT related to skin... but only seems to repro if you choose someone in ANOTHER region (was testing with someone here earlier)
- [12:59] Kona Linden: Gellen, nice observation
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: wierd gellan
- [12:59] Phillip Vought: if we can get 2755 fixed, sim owners can properly manage load..
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: I'll add that to the notes
- [12:59] Kona Linden: thanks, Alexa
- [12:59] Phillip Vought: right now pretty much all the stats are incompatible with common sense ;)
- [12:59] Khyota Wulluf: great!
- [12:59] Squirrel Wood: proper handling of bugs: [4]
- [12:59] Cummere Mayo: ratre things are going might not need to be a reason to get 2755 fixed
- [13:00] Phillip Vought: I hope youre wrong cummere ;)
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: lolol
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: nice pic Squirrel
- [13:00] Bridie Linden: i'm off to next meeting - thx all!
- [13:00] Kerry Giha: Thanks Bridie
- [13:00] Cummere Mayo: anyone know if jacks gonan have another meeting today?
- [13:00] Phillip Vought: hehe
- [13:01] Phillip Vought: does he have a deathwish?
- [13:01] Squirrel Wood: one with less pro-testers ?
- [13:01] Kona Linden: thanks Bridie
- [13:01] Alexa Linden: Kona, any action required on 2755?
- [13:01] Cummere Mayo: please import 2755
- [13:01] Gordon Wendt: once you get the log up I get to check and see how many things I promised to take a look at
- [13:01] Khyota Wulluf: thanks everyone!
- [13:01] Gordon Wendt: so please no rush in getting the log up
- [13:01] Kona Linden: can you please tag Andrew on that one?
