DID Friendship circle Mission Statement Free 2 be ‘we’

Our mission is to provide a unique learning environment and a peer to peer support, where people who have, or believe they may have Dissociative identity disorder (DID), and struggle with PTSD, OCD, anxiety, time loss, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, self-harm, mood disorders, and/or amnesia caused from child abuse, can come together to support each other through the ups and downs of living and coping with being DID. We also wish to provide a unique learning environment for those who wish to learn more about DID and/or wish to learn how to help another with DID.

Achieving our mission requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members recognize everyone's need to feel safe and comfortable when they begin conversations or activities. Each member has a deep regard for how people might react to what is said or done. If a topic/activity could be possibly triggering to others, a warning to all should be given so those who do not feel able to stay grounded, may take themselves to where is safe for them before the conversation/activity is started, this is just courtesy to all members as we all know, some days we can support others, where other days we can not due to our own status at the time. Members decide whether they feel safe to Stay for the conversation/activity, during meetings or general chat/activity’s. It is out of respect for all we ask you to listen to and support each other. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behaviour, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the Sim and with in the group meetings. Staff regularly monitor the sim to make sure all is safe.

we also encourage you to be active in the group, if your littles want to play, they can IM the group and ask if anyone else would like to come play, at the haven, or somewhere safe.... some times others will come play sometimes its just quiet. If your littles or any of you need support at any time, someone to talk to, a hug anything like that, agian you can IM the group and someone will try and get to you. we ask that you will do the same for group memebers to, we all support each other, sometimes that means littles may need to let bigs out to hold and comfort a little of someone elses, sometimes it maybe just the little doesnt wnat to be alone, and wants to play then your little is the best person to stay presant. This is excpected of all group members, so as all can gain and give support to each and all of each others.

In this group, people meet, share, and support. While coping with Dissociative identity disorder, we learn to trust ours and others' strength. We strive to respect and learn from each other.

As a friendly and kind community, we support and validate each other as equally special and significant.

Drama will not be tolerated and in appropriate behaviour will be dealt with accordingly. There will be no second chances for people who show violence, carry and/or use weapons, foul language, nudity and anything of a sexual nature. The sim is a PG sim, family friendly area and all behaviour will be expected to be kept with in this rating, according to LL regulations and those of the DID groups. Any violation of these will be dealt with accordingly.

Whilst staff will do all we can to keep those with in the group as safe as possible, You are responsible for your own safety while participating in this group.

Each member is responsible for reading, understanding and abiding by the "Policies and Guidelines" pertaining to this community.

We reserve the right to restrict and remove membership to the group and access to the sim, at the discretion of the group its self and/or staff based on the need for group safety. These decisions will not be up for discussion with anyone other than the people involved and staff.
