[13:01] Nathan Adored: Ah, there he is.
[13:01] Jeremy Linden: /me waves.
[13:01] Laurent Bechir: here he is :) hello Jeremy
[13:01] Laurent Bechir has pinged you.
[13:01] Nathan Adored: /me waves back.
[13:02] Jeremy Linden: How is everyone this week?
[13:02] Laurent Bechir: fine thank you and you ?
[13:02] Nathan Adored: Hunkey dorey.... mostly....
[13:03] Jeremy Linden: I'm busybusybusy as usual, of course :-)
[13:03] Laurent Bechir: I've spent a long time on Mesh sims and have seen lot of nice things
[13:03] Nathan Adored: kewl
[13:03] Jeremy Linden: Cool. I can't wait to see what people do in a controlled space like an estate.
[13:04] Jeremy Linden: Even the larger normal prims will be a big help, I think.
[13:04] Nathan Adored: yeah, I've got a large section of catwalks in my skybox that I built.... which coems to 50+ prims. I would be able to at least cut that in half by using longer prims.
[13:05] Laurent Bechir: I've also made a little video in french to help people uploading thei first mesh
[13:05] Nathan Adored: if I turned it into a mesh, I could probably reduce it way farther in prim count
[13:05] Jeremy Linden: Very nice!
[13:07] Laurent Bechir: do you know if someone is translatinh the mesh wiki in french ? i've done the first part for the moment
[13:07] Jeremy Linden: I do not think we have any internal resources on it. You might want to contact Eli about our community translation program.
[13:07] Laurent Bechir: ok
[13:08] Jeremy Linden: The mesh docs on the wiki seem to have changed a lot since I posted them. That is good :-)
[13:10] Nathan Adored: Wonder why there seem to be fewer attendies here than a few weeks ago...
[13:10] Jeremy Linden: Maybe Oz is getting more popular. Or maybe Linden Lab hasn't done something for people to complain about :-)
[13:11] Jeremy Linden: Admittedly, "documentation" is a pretty dry subject.
[13:11] Laurent Bechir: or perhaps people are too busy complaining to come here
[13:11] Nathan Adored: hmmmm.... 5 ppl on Hippotropolis right now.
[13:12] Laurent Bechir: or everyone is playing with meshes
[13:12] Nathan Adored: could be
[13:12] Jeremy Linden: I hope so!
[13:12] Laurent Bechir: next time organize the meeting on a mesh sim to see what happens :)
[13:12] Nathan Adored: ã‹¡
[13:13] Nathan Adored: Or maybe arrange some sort of chat-relay thing.
[13:13] Jeremy Linden: Heheh. Office Hours beta.
[13:13] Laurent Bechir: yes
[13:13] Nathan Adored: As in, have an OH place there AND here, and relay chat between the two
[13:13] Jeremy Linden: I think the Mesh team had office hours on the beta grid for a long time. I'm not sure how useful documentation office hours would be there :-)
[13:14] Nathan Adored: true
[13:14] Jeremy Linden: Interesting, Nathan. I'm not sure how easy that would be, though. I'd need to relay through some third-party server.
[13:14] Laurent Bechir: just to see if you would have more people
[13:15] Nathan Adored: Well, Hands of Omega TARDISs relay chat between the exterior (the police box) and the console room when the doors are open..... but that's all on the SAME grid.
[13:15] Jeremy Linden: Exactly, Nathan.
[13:16] Jeremy Linden: Chat relay on the same grid is fairly easy. Between grids would require communicating... well, between grids. They're like different universes.
[13:16] Nathan Adored: Still, I get the impression at least part of HoO's functionality is done thorugh HTTP, so.... maybe it might be workable cross-grid
[13:17] Nathan Adored: *through
[13:17] Jeremy Linden: Hmm. Well, it may be possible with HTTP in both directions. Want to create it? :-D
[13:17] Laurent Bechir: I've seen people talking between SL and Opensim; But I don't know how they do :)
[13:17] Nathan Adored: <--- not a programming. UNless you count BASIC, and he's rusty on that.
[13:18] Nathan Adored: *programmer
[13:18] Jeremy Linden: /me remembers BASIC. Or rather, QBASIC and Visual BASIC.
[13:18] Jeremy Linden: Not that I remember how to program in those languages. Just that I once could :-)
[13:18] Laurent Bechir: I think I know. I think they rely on IRC capacities of Phoenix
[13:19] Nathan Adored: Radio Shack Color Computer BASIC for me, followed by AmigaBASIC. Both of them were rebadged Miscrosoft BASIC, tho
[13:19] Laurent Bechir: /me remeber a little of Pascal :)
[13:20] Jeremy Linden: Heh! Any COBOL?
[13:22] Nathan Adored: 8 ppl now on Hippotropolis
[13:23] Jeremy Linden: Hm. Are there usually more, or less?
[13:23] Nathan Adored: Dunno....
[13:23] Nathan Adored: I think I only ever went there once.... and it was about that many....
[13:23] Jeremy Linden: Ah.
[13:24] Nathan Adored: I wonder, if we dragged Torley Linden back over here, would attendance go up again? ã‹¡
[13:24] Jeremy Linden: Absolutely. He advertises :-)
[13:24] Nathan Adored: :D
[13:25] Jeremy Linden: I think he's incredibly busy these days, though. He did say that he'd come every once in awhile, when he can.
[13:25] Nathan Adored: You got a tweet page, Jer?
[13:25] Jeremy Linden: /me is jeremy_linden
[13:25] Jeremy Linden has pinged you.
[13:25] Nathan Adored: linky?
[13:25] Jeremy Linden: not to be confused with jeremylinden, who actually does live in San Francisco and had to change his Twitter profile because of me.
[13:25] Jeremy Linden has pinged you.
[13:25] Nathan Adored: LOL
[13:25] Jeremy Linden: http://twitter.com/jeremy_linden
[13:25] Jeremy Linden has pinged you.
[13:26] Jeremy Linden: I don't tweet very often. The last few were a mistake I made on my iPhone :-P
[13:26] Nathan Adored: Yeah, I see that.... only a handful of tweets....
[13:27] Jeremy Linden: Eleventy-one so far!
[13:27] Nathan Adored: and you now have.... 666 followers! (EEEEK!!! :D )
[13:27] Jeremy Linden: Does that mean my followers are the devil?
[13:28] Nathan Adored: /me giggles
[13:28] Nathan Adored: Well, that picture of you.... looks like your eyes are glowing....
[13:28] Jeremy Linden: That was my defining avatar feature for a long time. I may bring them back someday.
[13:29] Jeremy Linden: /me looks at his bear, who has glowing eyes.
[13:29] Nathan Adored: /me gives a lopsided smile.
[13:29] Jeremy Linden: Of course, I made them back in the early days of WindLight. I learned quickly that I had to design them so that they didn't look ridiculous to people who can't see glow.
[13:31] Jeremy Linden: Otherwise, people saw flat red eyes, which was weird! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2150/2263604173_1a81467437.jpg?v=0
[13:33] Nathan Adored: well, now you have 667 followers, which I guess makes you The Nighbor of the The Beast. :D
[13:34] Jeremy Linden: Or the younger brother.
[13:34] Nathan Adored: Neighbor, even
[13:35] Jeremy Linden: "Hi everyone, I'm the beast's younger brother, Howard."
[13:35] Nathan Adored: /me giggles
[13:39] Jeremy Linden: Whoa, cool. Real-life brimstone, when burned, turns into a blood-red liquid. No wonder it's associated with awful things.
[13:39] Nathan Adored: ã‹¡
[13:40] Nathan Adored: Useful stuff to know on Halloween. ã‹¡
[13:40] Jeremy Linden: I think the smell would make it less useful as an actual Halloween trick, but still a fun fact.
[13:41] Laurent Bechir: I'm going to leave now. See you next week and let's hope there will be more people
[13:41] Jeremy Linden: Thanks for coming, Laurent. Maybe I should advertise more!
[13:41] Nathan Adored: Yeah, could always tweet about it.
[13:41] Jeremy Linden: I have in the past. I bet it would help if I started again.
[13:41] Nathan Adored: /me nods nods nods
[13:41] Laurent Bechir: perhaps. Torley was sending tweets just before meetings
[13:42] Jeremy Linden: If I used the #sl hash tag, we'd probably get a huge influx. Maybe I'll try that next week.
[13:42] Nathan Adored: and/or the #secondlife hashtag
[13:43] Jeremy Linden: Yep!
[13:44] Jeremy Linden: So, are there any big Resident-run Halloween events happening this week?
[13:44] Nathan Adored: Haven't really paid it that mich attention. I think there are at least one by and for kid-avs, tho
[13:45] Jeremy Linden: Hm.. I think the only kid AV I have is that baby dragon thing I was wearing last week.
[13:45] Nathan Adored: Hmmm... Well, I was just saying those there the only ones I was paying any attention to at all. ã‹¡
[13:46] Jeremy Linden: Ah, I see.
[13:46] Nathan Adored: I did dress up as Atreyu, of NeverEnding Story, tho.... just because. ã‹¡
[13:46] Jeremy Linden: /me is, embarrassingly, unfamiliar with that book/movie/series.
[13:47] Nathan Adored: There's a remame coming, tho.
[13:47] Jeremy Linden: I know there's a flying "luck dragon", that's about it.
[13:47] Nathan Adored: er,,,,, remake
[13:47] Nathan Adored: Dang, I seem to be full of typos and such today
[13:47] Jeremy Linden: Really? Interesting. I also heard they're going to reboot Highlander.
[13:48] Nathan Adored: Oh really? I hadn't heard about that one.
[13:48] Nathan Adored: They love their remakes, tho.
[13:48] Nathan Adored: Hollywood does, I mean.
[13:48] Jeremy Linden: Yeah. Sad that most of them are terrible.
[13:48] Nathan Adored: /me nods nods nods
[13:49] Jeremy Linden: I did like Star Trek, though. It just... actually felt like Star Trek, instead of a complete "re-imagining".
[13:49] Nathan Adored: I still haven't manage to see that one yet
[13:49] Nathan Adored: Heard good things about it, tho
[13:51] Nathan Adored: hello Daniel
[13:51] Daniel Voyager: hello
[13:51] Jeremy Linden: They made a reasonable attempt at reconciling it with existing Trek lore.
[13:51] Jeremy Linden: Hiya Daniel.
[13:51] Daniel Voyager: hey Jeremy
[13:51] Daniel Voyager has pinged you.
[13:52] Nathan Adored: 9 ppl at Hippo now
[13:52] Jeremy Linden: Heh. And we're back up to 3!
[13:52] Nathan Adored: wonder what they're talking about at Oz's OH
[13:52] Jeremy Linden: Probably open source issues, I'd guess.
[13:53] Jeremy Linden: Oz is really really smart and good at talking to people.
[13:53] Nathan Adored: Well, yeah.... but, what specifics this occasion, I wionder
[13:53] Jeremy Linden: /me shrugs.
[13:56] Jeremy Linden: So... Any new adventures lately, anyone?
[13:57] Nathan Adored: I've been mostly building on another grid, duplicating the skybox zone there that I built here.... and doing a bit of school RP, and stuff..
[13:57] Nathan Adored: And, well, poking around a bit, I guess
[13:58] Jeremy Linden: By "another grid", do you mean a non-LL grid, or the beta grid?
[13:58] Nathan Adored: non-LL grid.
[13:58] Nathan Adored: one of the OpenSim grids
[13:59] Jeremy Linden: Ah.
[14:00] Jeremy Linden: Hm. Well, it seems pretty quiet here. Anyone mind if I cut for the transcript?
