13:30  TheBlack Box  hi Oz
  Yuzuru  Hello Oz.
  draconis.neurocam  hello oz
  Oz Linden  Hi everyone!
13:31    Forgive me if I'm a little slow today.... it's been a long week already
  Ju  hello oz
Yuzuru  Oz, May I write crash report in Japanese? Because Officeal Viewer and snapshot were crushed frequently.
13:32  Oz Linden  If you mean can you report a bug that happens when using Japanese, yes.... if you actually write the report in Japanese, that would be a problem for most Lindens
13:33  Yuzuru  Thank you.
Oz Linden  Some new faces here today... welcome
13:34    By the way... there is a huge thunderstorm bearing down on me. There's a pretty decent chance I'll loose my connection, my power, or both.... so if I disappear, you'll know why
Techwolf Lupindo  HI Oz. (slow to repond, reading up on thinsgs)
  Jonathan  http://images.intellicast.com/WxImages/RadarSummary/hfd.gif
13:35    Oz might end up in the land of Oz
Techwolf Lupindo  I prefer Wondermap. It uses google maps and is interactive.
13:36  Oz Linden  http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/?lat=42.53617&lon=-71.32038&zoom=10&type=map&units=english&pin=40%%20Laurelwood%%20Dr,%%20Carlisle,%%20MA%%2001741,%%20USA&plat=42.53617&plon=-71.32038&rad=1&rad.num=6&rad.spd=25&rad.opa=50&rad.stm=1&rad.type=N0R&rad.type2=&rad.smo=1&rad.mrg=0&wxsn=0&svr=0&cams=0&sat=0&riv=0&mm=0&hur=0&fire=0&tor=0&ndfd=0&pix=0&dir=0
    indeed
  Techwolf Lupindo  Hahaha. :-D
Oz Linden  I've had my cable knocked out 4 times in 3 years by lightning
Dɐuʇıɐ Goʇɥןʎ  oz, maybe this is something that could be looked at.
    https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-25928
Office Orb  VWR-25928 Client crash's while entering mouse look.
Oz Linden  but they just ran a new cable, and claim that this one is correctly grounded (unlike the old one), so we'll see
13:38    That looks like an interesting one, but we'd need to either get the logs attached or get a specific time, place, and user where it happened (so that we could look in our crash logger for it)
13:39  Dɐuʇıɐ Goʇɥןʎ  happens to me at least twice a day, and I'm willing to test
Oz Linden  hang on a moment... I'll look in the crash log
13:41    I can't find any
13:42    which doesn't mean that they are not there; finding a specific crash can be tricky
Zi Ree  kills another rampant SLPlugin process >.<
Jonathan  Here is the agenda, such as it is https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Open_Development_User_Group
13:43  Oz Linden  yeah... there are some issues in OPEN
many seem to be variations on a theme....
Jonathan  oz, reload that page at some point; I added an entry
13:44  TheBlack Box  same theme i guess
13:45  Oz Linden  Sure... let's talk fmod
    what's the issue?
Jonathan  A few of us just updated the windows build wiki
and in so doing added instructions for fmod
13:46  Oz Linden  got a pointer?
  Jonathan  https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Viewer_2_Microsoft_Windows_Builds#Fmod_method_1_.28using_autobuild.29
    hope that works
  Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  it did
Jonathan  The issue is the steps to configure for fmod are a bit complex and have to be repeated for every cloned repo
13:47    basically you have to make a local copy of autobuild.xml and apply the fmod changes to it
  Oz Linden  yes, that's true
Jonathan  we are hoping to come up with some automated / scripted system to do most of that
13:48    I was also wondering if you would support using the old way of having 2 switches on the configure command line
Oz Linden  Forgive some of my Win-ignorance....
Jonathan  in that case one would just point to the needed files, which is someting a mac build already supports
Oz Linden  it doesn't seem as though that would be very hard to script
13:49    the cloning and modifying of the autobuild.xml, that is
Jonathan  I will see if I can find someone to come up with a program of some sort
13:50  Oz Linden  Ideally something cross-platform?
  Jonathan  good idea
Oz Linden  I think that there's a shorter way to do that autobuild installables edit command by just pointing it to the package file
13:51    if not, there should be
Jonathan  if someday you have a bit of time please let us know how to simplify things; the autobuild wiki is sorely lacking
Oz Linden  That documentation is very well done, by the way - kudos to all who contributed to it
13:52  Jonathan  It was time for a good rewrite. Now people starting out have a chance
Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  john and boroodas did most of it
Oz Linden  As it happens, I'm going to be talking to people about autobuild today and tomorrow - it will come up
Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  ima and myself did some
Oz Linden  the results are great
Jonathan  Ima had to read the autobuild code to figure out the right command to use
The autobuild wiki is not very complete
13:53  Oz Linden  It should be pretty easy to generalize to cover any of the 3p-* packages....
Jonathan  and has 0 examples :(
ok, that's enough for this subject I guess
13:54  Oz Linden  OPEN-71
  Office Orb  http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-71

OPEN-71 As an Open Source (OS) developer using windows I want 3p-FMOD library to build and package locally using autobuild.

TheBlack Box  got to go .. sorry .. see you around all
  Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  tc black
Oz Linden  I'm not clear what this is asking for....
  Yuzuru  see you!
13:55  Oz Linden  do we need to document that unzip and curl need to be in your environment?
    (are they not already?)
Jonathan  already documented as of 2 days ago
    Nicky helped a lot too
Oz Linden  so can we close this
    ?
  Jonathan  yes
13:56    There has been a lot of confusion over what apps had to be loaded to deal with fmod
Oz Linden  ok ... will do after the meeting
Jonathan  we now have a good handle on it
Oz Linden  WOW ... big thunder!!
  Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  fun times! ㋡
  Oz Linden  open-70
  Office Orb  http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-70

OPEN-70 Change 3p-ogvorbis/build-cmd.sh to use msbuild.exe parameters.

Oz Linden  so this is an example case that there are probably many of
13:57    some of them are in the build scripts, and I guess those will all have to be dealt with one at a time
13:58    I'll take this one and run it through our build farm to see how it goes....
Jonathan  this was done for viewer-development / autobuild.xml when we first got our hands on it, so it should not be too difficult of an issue to deal with
13:59  Oz Linden  The really interesting question is whether or not we can establish a pattern for these that works both inside and outside LL
using the same commands, I mean
the viewer itself needs to be different because of the proprietary changes, but the 3p- libs should be the same
14:00  Jonathan  I think it only means replacing devenv.com with msbuild.exe and making associated changes
Oz Linden  I'm not sure how I check whether or not that will affect incredibuild, but I know who to ask....
I'll use this one as a test case.
14:01  Jonathan  Worst case is what was done for OS pepole to use autobuild has to be replicated for the 3p items
14:02    Nicky is the expert on those changes; I think LL still uses devenv
  Oz Linden  and open-69
  Office Orb  http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-69

OPEN-69 Change autobuild to use msbuild.exe

14:03  Oz Linden  the diff does not seem to account for cases in which the 'proj' is not set, which the origninal does.... will have to find out why that is there in the old code
14:04    testing that in the build farm will be a little trickier... I'll have to get some help on that one
14:05    open-68 (the global issue) I'll leave alone until I've done those other tests
  Office Orb  http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-68

OPEN-68 Convert autobuild library builds to use msbuild.exe instead of devenv.com. Then, convert all 3p-lib's build-cmd.sh to have the correct parameter call alignment for msbuild.exe.

14:07  Oz Linden  open-67
  Office Orb  http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-67

OPEN-67 LLDirIterator implementation incompatible to boost::filesystem v3 (as found in Boost 1.44 and newer)

14:08  Oz Linden  If we're going to take this on, we should probably also investigate upgrading to a more recent boost at the same time
don't want to get too far behind, anyway
14:09    open-65
  Office Orb  http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-65

OPEN-65 autobuild build for 3p-ogvorbis defaults to vs2005 even though configured under a vs2010 express shell

Techwolf Lupindo  Don't forget to add #ifdef to prevent breaking standalone builds with 1.39 though 1.46
14:11  Oz Linden  I have to suspect that open-65 is a local environment problem
  Jonathan  read the last comment
it is a devenv issue again
14:12  Oz Linden  but that doesn't have anything to do with VS versions, does it?
Jonathan  no, that issue was resolved (see 1st comment) but...there is a good point there to change the xml file to default to vs2010
14:13  Oz Linden  yes, that's true
14:16    which exhausts our triage before the worst part of the storm reaches me !
other topics for our remaining time?
Techwolf Lupindo  builds up a static charge with his fur...
14:17  Jonathan  just saw a lightning flash
14:18  draconis.neurocam  is the latest merge going to get pushed to the build servers today?
14:19  Oz Linden  sorry... which latest merge?
  draconis.neurocam  commit 18659

61ccb97fb4dd

Jonathan  doesn't every commit result in a teamcity build?
draconis.neurocam  the one from 9 hours ago
14:20    yes, but it hasnt happened yet, i was just wondering
Oz Linden  oh, yes ... every group of commits within some small time window triggers a build
14:21    most recent build appears to have finished about a half hour ago....
draconis.neurocam  http://automated-builds-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/hg/repo/snowstorm_viewer-development/latest.html doesnt point to it
14:22  Oz Linden  it did for me...
  draconis.neurocam  must be my dns
    weird
14:23  Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  Completed: Wednesday, June 01, 2011 8:09:10 PM (1306984150)
Oz Linden  or some overly-aggressive cache?
draconis.neurocam  thats possible, sorry for pointing it out, since its a problem on my end
14:24  Oz Linden  where is it getting that time, I wonder?
no apology needed... if it were not working, I'd have needed to know, and it's not unheard of
draconis.neurocam  yeah clearing browser cache fixed it
14:25  Yuzuru  It is the local time.
Oz Linden  I have that problem regularly with some of our internal stats tools
it's not giving me my local time
14:26    it's 6 hours east of me
Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  its not my time either
    universal time?
  Yuzuru  really! It is PDT.
  Oz Linden  no... I'm only -4 ... a puzzlement
14:27  Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  im PDT
  Yuzuru  Here is +9
  Phoenix-FirestormViewer Rocks  its 2:30PM here
