[12:01] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Heya!

[12:01] Jenna Felton: hi Whirly :)

[12:01] Simon Linden: Whirly's here, so we can get started :P

[12:01] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): o.O

[12:01] Simon Linden: This week deploys are blogged here : http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Deploys-for-the-week-of-2014-06-09/td-p/2744850

[12:01] rcdsQueChatLog: State changed.{click me to get the url}

[12:02] Simon Linden: The RC servers will get updates and new releases tomorrow

[12:02] Simon Linden: The group ban server is probably the most interesting

[12:03] Tankmaster Finesmith: hi, sorry im late

[12:03] Simon Linden: since the other two are experience tools (which I don't have any news for) and the back-end inventory update

[12:03] Tankmaster Finesmith: is the backend inv for the AIS3 viewer? (aka sunshine)

[12:03] Simon Linden: So please give group bans a bit of exercise if you have a chance

[12:04] Adamburp Adamczyk: will do

[12:04] Simon Linden: I believe so, Tank ... I'm not familiar with the details on what was changed there

[12:05] Tankmaster Finesmith: ok, its looking like that viewer may be next for promotion

[12:05] Simon Linden: That's it for my news, so the floor's open for questions and topics

[12:05] Rex Cronon: AFK...............................

[12:05] Rex Cronon: afk 4 a few minutes

[12:05] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): The sunshine RC poofed from the list. Memshine is still there though.

[12:06] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): On http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers

[12:06] Tankmaster Finesmith: yeah, can you fix the last few compile errors in our repo that are do to merging in intereist list? :P

[12:06] Simon Linden: right, there were a few things combined to cut down on the number of releases

[12:07] Simon Linden: oh, that question is easy ... no :P

[12:07] Tankmaster Finesmith: lol

[12:07] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Aww theres only 1000 errors left :P

[12:07] Simon Linden: ouch, I hope they're the same one

[12:07] Tankmaster Finesmith: its down to under 40 now!

[12:08] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): o.O

[12:08] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Cool

[12:08] Mona Eberhardt: Any news on that HTTP bomb that was mentioned last week?

[12:08] Tankmaster Finesmith: was 2,684 yesterday, with 1537 warnings

[12:08] Lucia Nightfire: only that its still going strong, heh

[12:08] Simon Linden: No Mona, nothing to report there

[12:08] Adamburp Adamczyk: waht http bomb?

[12:09] Adamburp Adamczyk wasn't her last week, was climbin a mountain

[12:11] Simon Linden: I have no hard evidence, but griefing activity seems to be up lately. Perhaps it's because it's summer vacation time

[12:11] Tankmaster Finesmith: the new openssl vulnerability you mean?

[12:11] Lucia Nightfire: I would say you're probably right

[12:11] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): heh yeah

[12:11] Mona Eberhardt: It's a new griefing tool that gets people disconnected via some sort of DDoS attack.

[12:11] Tankmaster Finesmith: skool is still in session here

[12:11] Lexbot Sinister: it's last week of school in sweden and kids got no homework to do. Will get better soon...

[12:12] Mona Eberhardt: Meh. I say feed every griefer fugu (the whole fish, with liver, ovaries and all) and you're done.

[12:13] Simon Linden: It's probably best if I don't make any statements on that :P

[12:13] Lucia Nightfire: Linden approved

[12:13] Tankmaster Finesmith: :D

[12:13] Adamburp Adamczyk: either that or try baker's decaff coffee trixck

[12:14] Jenna Felton: hi Oz

[12:14] Mona Eberhardt: Hi Oz.

[12:14] Adamburp Adamczyk: happy birthday Oz!

[12:14] Kennylex Luckless: Hia Oz.

[12:14] Rex Cronon: hello oz. your birthday?

[12:15] Simon Linden: Hi Oz - things are pretty quiet so please speak up if you have any announcements or news

[12:15] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): It is not his rezz day; that has passed by already

[12:15] Yuzuru Jewell: Hello, Oz.

[12:15] Oz Linden: Nothing much ... we should have a new Snowstorm viewer soon (trying to get a build for QA now) that I think scripters will like

[12:16] Jenna Felton: i have a question. A friend experiences a lag at her own sim, while others dont have lag there. And she has no lag on other's sim. What can it be? and how to find the reason?

[12:16] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Will https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/STORM-2034 changes be in that Oz?

[12:16] JIRA-helper: [#STORM-2034] Support 'older than' when inventory filtering - Second Life Bug Tracker

[12:16] Oz Linden: no, that will be in the next batch

[12:16] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): That issue is needing you to test it first Whirly :)

[12:16] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): ahh okay

[12:17] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): lol I know, Jonathan has been griffing me ;)

[12:17] Oz Linden: This one will use the server hints for LSL syntax and help, and will allow you to configure your own colors for the LSL editor

[12:17] Lucia Nightfire: lmao

[12:18] Lucia Nightfire: very weird

[12:18] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Cool! I saw Cinders had added the colour picker. She did that for FS a while ago, its popular

[12:18] Simon Linden: Hmmm Jenna ... if nobody else is experiencing it, that sounds like a viewer issue

[12:18] Jenna Felton: she says its a bad time lag

[12:18] Oz Linden: programmers like picking their own colors :-)

[12:18] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): bed time?

[12:18] Lucia Nightfire: what brougth that abotu though was mainly teh harsh bg color

[12:18] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): She on amc?

[12:18] Tankmaster Finesmith: @oz, will the new snowstorm have my installer changes?

[12:18] Lucia Nightfire: same as the nc bg

[12:19] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): *mac

[12:19] Jenna Felton: she is on windows 8

[12:19] Lucia Nightfire: I prefer a script window and notecard window background of anything but bright white

[12:20] Oz Linden: yes, tank

[12:20] Tankmaster Finesmith: ok ?

[12:20] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Jenna, if she isn't on Linden viewer, get her to try on Linden with same settings. If shes on FS, get her to file a support JIRA giving location, sysinfo & logs.

[12:20] Jenna Felton: ok

[12:21] Lucia Nightfire: and check taht her badnwidht isn't set to 9001

[12:21] Tankmaster Finesmith: support jira with FS, not with LL, that is...

[12:21] Qie Niangao: This would be the change that only installs on odd-numbered Windows releases?

[12:21] Tankmaster Finesmith: odd number?

[12:21] Qie Niangao: sorry, old joke. Before your time, no doubt.

[12:22] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): If she happens to be on FS 4.6.1 64bit windows, get her to update 4.6.5 64bit. 4.6.1 64bit had some performance issues in certain locations but those are fixed on 4.6.5.

[12:22] Jenna Felton: ok, i will pas that over, thank you :)

[12:22] Tankmaster Finesmith: this is the change to block installing on 32bit XP SP2 and lower, as well as 64bit XP SP1 and lower, as well as blocking server 2003 SP1 and lower

[12:23] Oz Linden: thats the one

[12:23] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Oh thats in the new snowstorm?

[12:23] Oz Linden: yup

[12:23] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Dont tell Rex lol

[12:23] Tankmaster Finesmith: it will also add a message at the end of the isntaller that it is recomended to update to the latest service pack on vista and win7, if they are not installed

[12:23] Oz Linden: finally :-(

[12:25] Rex Cronon: lets see when it happens to u, or somebody u care, if u still think its funny:)

[12:26] Tankmaster Finesmith: oh, dont worry, i do :P

[12:27] Tankmaster Finesmith thinks he is now on rex's shyt list :D

[12:28] Rex Cronon: u r not expecting a thank u. r u:)

[12:28] Tankmaster Finesmith: haha, no, not really

[12:29] Rex Cronon: don't worry. u r not the first that has ever had a stroke of "genius" :\)

[12:29] Rex Cronon: :)

[12:30] Tankmaster Finesmith: though if LL does deside to update the visual studio tool they use. that likely would mean no XP support at all

[12:30] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Building on 2012 breaks XP?

[12:31] Tankmaster Finesmith: 2013 did

[12:31] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): Does anyone still compile on XP?

[12:31] Tankmaster Finesmith: buit i think MS readded support, and im not sure if VS14 still supports building on XP or not

[12:31] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Dont know anyone that does

[12:31] Simon Linden: Not at LL, no

[12:32] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Can compile on Vista fine. My old rig was Vista

[12:32] Oz Linden: Right now we're doing our builds on Win7, but we probably should update that too

[12:32] Tankmaster Finesmith: VS14 is brining in a lot of c++14 support with it

[12:32] Oz Linden: it wouldn't do for us to be that caught up :-)

[12:34] Rex Cronon: it still runs on xp, even if is not compiled 4 it. doesn't it? why is the need to tell users: i don't like your os. go take a hike:(

[12:34] Tankmaster Finesmith: theres some compatibility issues with VS1020 on win8, but it doesnt seem to affect building the viewer on it

[12:35] Mona Eberhardt: Rex... XP will be a huge vulnerability for everyone next year.

[12:35] Tankmaster Finesmith: 2010*

[12:35] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Oz, please can https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/OPEN-217 get comitted? That error was driving me potty till I found that fix

[12:35] JIRA-helper: [#OPEN-217] Change to media_plugin_quicktime.cpp causes Windows compile to fail - Second Life Bug Tracker

[12:35] Rex Cronon: come on. u believe everything M$ says:)

[12:36] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): Whirly, you can still compile fine, just ignore that error

[12:36] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): Unless you are on the command line and that error causes the process to barf...dunno if that is the case

[12:36] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): I don't like building in VS though I use command line & it just falls over & dies

[12:36] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): I nevr open VS if I don't have to :P

[12:37] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): The fix for open-217 is in one of my recent STORM commits, so unless Oz removes it it will get in "by accident"

[12:37] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Ok cool

[12:38] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): That was before I realized I could ignore that error

[12:38] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Well, you sort of can but no media

[12:38] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): & you can't build on command line

[12:39] Tankmaster Finesmith: command line is so 80s :P

[12:39] Oz Linden: I'll integrate it

[12:39] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): no loss on the media, unless you are testing some change that needs it

[12:41] Simon Linden: Well ... things seem pretty quiet this week, at least here. If there aren't any questions or topics, maybe we should end the meeting a little early

[12:42] Tankmaster Finesmith: ok

[12:43] Simon Linden: I can hang out for a bit but will put my attention into another window

[12:43] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): o/

[12:44] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): Whirls, check you IM

[12:44] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Hurry up Tank :P

[12:46] Lucia Nightfire: no news on anything coming down the pipe?

[12:47] Simon Linden: No, nothing we can discuss yet

[12:47] Tankmaster Finesmith: looks like we should be able to get the remaining errors fixed today, so thats a good thing

[12:47] Tankmaster Finesmith: so yes, but simmon would have to kill us :P

[12:48] Simon Linden: I'd just turn you into a hamster

[12:48] Lucia Nightfire: as lon g as its nto feature locked into a half potential status due to no feeedback from the content creator community

[12:48] Lucia Nightfire: I always encourage engaging content creators in case something significant is overlooked

[12:49] Simon Linden: btw, has anyone tried posting a picture to your profile feed? It seems to be broken

[12:49] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Again?

[12:49] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Trying

[12:49] Simon Linden: That was my reaction too

[12:49] Nalates Urriah: not recently...

[12:50] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Posting......

[12:50] Simon Linden: I had mine stuck in "processing"

[12:50] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Failed to upload

[12:50] Minuet Voir: There have been a small number of complaints in Firestorm Support this past week about that.

[12:50] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): 2014-06-10T19:50:36Z WARNING: newview/llwebprofile.cpp(180) : LLWebProfileResponders::PostImageResponder::completedHeader: Unexpected POST status: 499 STATUS_EXPIRED

[12:50] Mona Eberhardt: Honestly, Simon, the feeds are broken beyond fix and not merely on a technical level.

[12:51] Simon Linden: which means the upload was OK, but the back-end part that wires it into the profile is bad

[12:51] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Im on FS though

[12:51] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): TRying again

[12:52] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Posted

[12:52] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Waiting for processing

[12:52] Simon Linden: That's where mine got stuck

[12:52] Rex Cronon: u see. the ll servers don't like OS version that was used to send the pictures. that is why it doesn't allow them;)

[12:52] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): I had one get stuck at processing the other day but 2 posted okay after that

[12:52] Lucia Nightfire: get off teh toaster Rex

[12:53] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Ive noticed if I try to send really large size shots it often gets stuck processing

[12:53] Rex Cronon: why don't u get off your high horse:)

[12:53] Simon Linden: Mine were 640x480 so it couldn't have been size

[12:53] Lucia Nightfire: whoa nilly

[12:53] Nalates Urriah: I'm using 3.7.9 (290582) and it shows 'processing' too.

[12:53] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Hmmm should have processed by now

[12:54] Simon Linden: well, we probably just piled on even more work for it :)

[12:56] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): "You have 3 snapshots being processed. "

[12:56] Nalates Urriah: Well, tried different settings... now I have 3 processing.

[12:56] Tankmaster Finesmith: "You have 2348655893 snapshots being processed"

[12:56] Tankmaster Finesmith: humm, oops

[12:56] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Yeah it seems stuck. If they don't process in a couple mins they usually dont

[12:56] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): that is the trouble

[12:57] Kennylex Luckless: The void pit for lost snapshots.

[12:57] Tankmaster Finesmith: lol

[12:57] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): I am surprised there is no region called Tumbolia

[12:57] Qie Niangao: I think it's quaint. Like a photo lab with chemicals and all. None of this new-fangled Polaroid stuff for us!

[12:58] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): hehe

[12:58] Minuet Voir: lol

[12:58] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): I still use a film camera!

[12:58] Calcite (calcite.serendipity): Can you still get film developed?

[12:58] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): I develop my own

[12:58] Tankmaster Finesmith: yes

[12:58] Mona Eberhardt: I used to do so, Whirly... But now I barely have the time.

[12:58] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): Thats the fun party

[12:58] jira.phoenixviewer.com (whirly.fizzle): *part

[12:58] Tankmaster Finesmith: costco still does it

[12:59] Simon Linden: Thanks everyone for coming today and the conversation. I'll see you next time
