[2007/08/08 15: 04] Aumaan Fitzpatrick: wow, it's taking a long time for my graphic data to download
[2007/08/08 15: 04] Cannot complete attachment. An attachment is pending for that spot.
[2007/08/08 15: 04] You: Don't worry Aumaan it's not just you. :)
[2007/08/08 15: 04] Daedalus Young: yes, Aumaan, I had grey textures for a long time here too
[2007/08/08 15: 04] Daedalus Young: well it's happy music, Bridie :)
[2007/08/08 15: 05] Bridie Linden: :)
[2007/08/08 15: 05] Connecting to in-world Voice Chat...
[2007/08/08 15: 05] Connected
[2007/08/08 15: 05] Bridie Linden: hahah
[2007/08/08 15: 05] Daedalus Young: I'd like to see separate Mute buttons on the volume sliders list though
[2007/08/08 15: 05] Daedalus Young: for each slider
[2007/08/08 15: 06] Daedalus Young: and maybe solo buttons too :P
[2007/08/08 15: 06] You: Daedalus, that's a music paradigm I can relate to all too well.
[2007/08/08 15: 06] Bridie Linden: Torley, will you be our note taker/PJIRA jockey today?
[2007/08/08 15: 06] You: I sure will!
[2007/08/08 15: 06] You: I pinged Iridium to see if she can make it...
[2007/08/08 15: 07] You: "PJIRA jockey", first time I've heard that -- I like that.
[2007/08/08 15: 07] Bridie Linden: well, Aric is on his way but having troubles...
[2007/08/08 15: 07] Bridie Linden: let's get started...
[2007/08/08 15: 07] Bridie Linden: Some standard opening remarks before we get going...
[2007/08/08 15: 07] You: Iridium's trying to come.
[2007/08/08 15: 07] Bridie Linden: oh no, we lost Dimitrio
[2007/08/08 15: 07] Bridie Linden: oh no i mean Aumaan
[2007/08/08 15: 07] Bridie Linden: Well, Thank you for coming -- we really value your participation and feedback!
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Dimitrio Lewis: this is gonna be a really small group and I didn't even read up on the topic first :p
[2007/08/08 15: 08] You: We've got Wyn!
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Dimitrio Lewis: heya Wyn!
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Bridie Linden: Welcome Wyn!
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Daedalus Young: I smell chemical element 77 nearby too
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Bridie Linden: The usual info is here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage#Process_notes
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Wyn Galbraith: Almost forgot, was terraforming.
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Bridie Linden: Thx for coming Wyn
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Bridie Linden: small group today
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Bridie Linden: Still going through some announcments...
[2007/08/08 15: 08] Bridie Linden: A reminder that a 'Resolved' bug is not the same as 'Closed'. Resolved issues are by definition assigned back to the Reporter, but are still considered active. When an item is Resolved 'needs more info', what we mean is that it won't be fruitful for us to import into our internal issue tracker without more details. We're asking the Reporter -- and others!-- to provide more info.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Bridie Linden: Hi Iridium!!
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Iridium Linden: Sorry I'm late.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] You: Hey Iridium!
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Iridium Linden: :(
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Daedalus Young: hi Iridium
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Iridium Linden: Hiya!
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Bridie Linden: Just getting started - no worries
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Wyn Galbraith: That's ok, I was late too.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Bridie Linden: Also, see Torley's great post on better bug reporting: http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/07/05/how-to-report-bugs-better/
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Iridium Linden: That was the best post ever.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Bridie Linden: Here's today's agenda: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Viewer_Crashes_Agenda
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Wyn Galbraith: At least we don't have to do a song and dance for being late.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Dimitrio Lewis: hi Iridium, cute avatar :)
[2007/08/08 15: 09] You: Aw thanks well I just am happy to help.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Bridie Linden gives me idea
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Iridium Linden: Thanks!
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Bridie Linden: Help creating/editing the agenda each week is always welcome - hint, hint.
[2007/08/08 15: 09] Wyn Galbraith: Good deal Torley, you beat me to doing that.
[2007/08/08 15: 10] You: I like looking for patterns... and doing FAQs... lessening friction to get useful info.
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Bridie Linden: As usual...
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Bridie Linden: We'll be on the look out for good repros, system info, linking duplicate issues, making sure priority is set correctly before we import issues into our internal issue tracker.
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Wyn Galbraith likes patterns too.
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Bridie Linden: This will be a text-chat triage and I'll be posting the transcripts after the triage is over.
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Bridie Linden: All good?
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Wyn Galbraith nods.
[2007/08/08 15: 10] Bridie Linden: Let's dive in and see how far we get today!
[2007/08/08 15: 11] You: *sounds the opening bell*
[2007/08/08 15: 11] Bridie Linden: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Viewer_Crashes_Agenda#Resolved
[2007/08/08 15: 11] Bridie Linden: (sorry for anchor there)
[2007/08/08 15: 11] Bridie Linden: Starting with VWR-673...
[2007/08/08 15: 11] You: Hi Wyn I can hear ya! I don't have my mic up.
[2007/08/08 15: 12] Bridie Linden: Also, there is the URL cube next to me here...
[2007/08/08 15: 12] You: OK, the original reporter (Elbereth) got back to us and says it's still a problem.
[2007/08/08 15: 12] Iridium Linden: Shall we skip Dan's?
[2007/08/08 15: 12] Bridie Linden: click on it
[2007/08/08 15: 12] Bridie Linden: oh yeah, sorry - skipping Dan's list
[2007/08/08 15: 12] Wyn Galbraith: That's ok, I'm still shy about using it, Torley.
[2007/08/08 15: 12] Bridie Linden: Starting w/Viewer Crashes list...
[2007/08/08 15: 13] Bridie Linden: Iridium if you paste PJIRA number in here, url cube will pick it up :)
[2007/08/08 15: 13] Iridium Linden: kk
[2007/08/08 15: 13] Bridie Linden: VWR-673
[2007/08/08 15: 13] Bridie Linden: Try it now
[2007/08/08 15: 13] You: VWR-673 has more info and is still a problem...
[2007/08/08 15: 13] Iridium Linden: VWR-673
[2007/08/08 15: 14] You: so I think it's good to import for future investigation.
[2007/08/08 15: 14] You: Similar case with the related SVC-188.
[2007/08/08 15: 14] You: Heya lovechess.
[2007/08/08 15: 14] Daedalus Young: I've seen similar behavior while waiting for stuff to rez in Natoma Sandbox
[2007/08/08 15: 14] Daedalus Young: results in crash or sometimes double teleport
[2007/08/08 15: 14] Daedalus Young: noticing high packet loss at the time
[2007/08/08 15: 14] lovechess Smit: hola
[2007/08/08 15: 14] Daedalus Young: but can't really repro
[2007/08/08 15: 15] lovechess Smit: donde estoy
[2007/08/08 15: 15] Bridie Linden: I'm torn about importing then...
[2007/08/08 15: 15] Bridie Linden: Hello lovechess
[2007/08/08 15: 15] lovechess Smit: hello
[2007/08/08 15: 15] You: It looks like a repro isn't easy to get (as noted in the comments) from the Resident perspective...
[2007/08/08 15: 15] Daedalus Young: I know Gigs is doing tests with latency and packet loss and such
[2007/08/08 15: 15] You: "I'm going to avoid fubaring your asset retrieval latencies for obvious reasons. Its probably not hard to simulate though, depending on ones resources."
[2007/08/08 15: 15] Iridium Linden: Shall we mark as "Needs more info" for now?
[2007/08/08 15: 16] You: We marked it that way before.
[2007/08/08 15: 16] Iridium Linden: Ah
[2007/08/08 15: 16] You: And then the original reporter got back to us...
[2007/08/08 15: 16] lovechess Smit: nadie habla castellano
[2007/08/08 15: 16] You: Devs could make more sense of that log I think.
[2007/08/08 15: 16] You: At least there are logs here.
[2007/08/08 15: 16] Daedalus Young: I'll keep it in mind, checking out Mauve
[2007/08/08 15: 16] Iridium Linden: Lovechess, te ayudo con algo?
[2007/08/08 15: 16] Wyn Galbraith: no entendo, lovechess
[2007/08/08 15: 17] lovechess Smit: que sitio es este
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Bridie Linden: Daedalus - do you want to add your comments and we'll import?
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Daedalus Young: I'll add my comments
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Wyn Galbraith: Which issue are we on?
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Iridium Linden: Viewer Crash Triage, Lovechess.
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Bridie Linden: still on 673
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Wyn Galbraith looks for the box.
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Iridium Linden: Linden Village.
[2007/08/08 15: 17] You: Thanks Dae!
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Wyn Galbraith: That explains it.
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Iridium Linden: k, importing then.
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Bridie Linden: Thx.
[2007/08/08 15: 17] Iridium Linden: Yeah, T?
[2007/08/08 15: 18] You: Yes.
[2007/08/08 15: 18] You: *imports*
[2007/08/08 15: 18] Bridie Linden: VWR-1628
[2007/08/08 15: 18] Bridie Linden: Next up
[2007/08/08 15: 18] Iridium Linden: ack, wiki is slow for me right now.
[2007/08/08 15: 18] Iridium Linden: sorry.
[2007/08/08 15: 18] Bridie Linden: Yes, wiki was slow for me too
[2007/08/08 15: 18] You: OK... this VWR-1628... we should ping Steve or another graphics guru... but I think the fault here is with the reporter's system...
[2007/08/08 15: 19] You: It's a lower-end graphics card... and he only has 512 MB of RAM...
[2007/08/08 15: 19] lovechess Smit: bonita musica
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden: We don't support that card as far as I know.
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden: Hi Aric!
[2007/08/08 15: 19] You: The problem is TurboCache, instead of using faster, dedicated VRAM, will suck up system memory resources. It isn't really "Turbo", it's a marketing term.
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden: Welcome.
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Daedalus Young: hi Aric
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden: lol
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Aric Linden: Thanks Iridium
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden: Isn't it always.
[2007/08/08 15: 19] You: I think we do support it as it's a 6xxx series, but it's on the lower-end.
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Dimitrio Lewis: hi Aric
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden smiles at Aric.
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Bridie Linden: http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Aric Linden: Heya Daedalus
[2007/08/08 15: 19] Iridium Linden: Thanks, Bridie.
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Bridie Linden: Welcome Aric!
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Aric Linden: /nods at dimitrio
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Iridium Linden: Aric, we're looking at VWR-1628,
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Aric Linden: ignores bridie for fun
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Iridium Linden: Adapt Second Life to Nvidia's TurboCache technology
[2007/08/08 15: 20] You: What do you make of VWR-1628 Aric? Good to see ya!
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Aric Linden: hold on. lemme catchup
[2007/08/08 15: 20] Wyn Galbraith waves at Aric.
[2007/08/08 15: 21] Bridie Linden: It's actually sort of a feature request
[2007/08/08 15: 21] Aric Linden: Hi Wyn. I had the worst time getting inworld today
[2007/08/08 15: 21] You: Lower-end 6xxx and 7xxx ones (I note his is a 7100GS) use TurboCache...
[2007/08/08 15: 21] You: That's a good point Bridie.
[2007/08/08 15: 21] You: It's kinda like that "Support 3D goggles for Second Life because it crashes me right now" one.
[2007/08/08 15: 21] Aric Linden: I agree.
[2007/08/08 15: 22] Bridie Linden: And the likelihood that we'd do this?
[2007/08/08 15: 22] You: So perhaps -- change to New Feature, and change priority to Normal. I don't see anyone else clamoring for it yet either.
[2007/08/08 15: 22] Daedalus Young: wouldn't that also be a New Feature instead of Bug?
[2007/08/08 15: 22] You: Steve or Runitai would know a lot more...
[2007/08/08 15: 22] Bridie Linden: Good idea...
[2007/08/08 15: 22] Aric Linden: agreed. I don't think it'd be a high priority
[2007/08/08 15: 22] You: but I think the problem here is limited hardware.
[2007/08/08 15: 22] You: That's clearly a lower-end card.
[2007/08/08 15: 22] Wyn Galbraith: So is TurboCache something that comes with all Nvidia's or just certain models?
[2007/08/08 15: 22] You: Just lower-end ones Wyn.
[2007/08/08 15: 23] You: Higher-end ones use faster, dedicated memory.
[2007/08/08 15: 23] Aric Linden: it's supposed to accomodate slower clock speeds
[2007/08/08 15: 23] You: Hence why they don't hog system resources.
[2007/08/08 15: 23] Wyn Galbraith: Ah so the new ones don't need it cause they're cooler ;)?
[2007/08/08 15: 23] You: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbocache
[2007/08/08 15: 23] Wyn Galbraith: Thanks
[2007/08/08 15: 23] You: It's for "affordability", not "performance". NP.
[2007/08/08 15: 23] Dimitrio Lewis: eep
[2007/08/08 15: 23] You: Oh Bridie! Come back!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Wyn Galbraith: Well, you really can't be going backwards.
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Daedalus Young: I'm seeing 2 Lindens disappear before my very eyes!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] You: She's trying to come back!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Wyn Galbraith: They'll be back, they always come back... mostly.
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Rex Cronon: hello everybody
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Daedalus Young: ah, wb
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Daedalus Young: hi Rex
[2007/08/08 15: 24] You: Hey Rex!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] You: WB Bridie!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Wyn Galbraith: Hi Rex.
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Dimitrio Lewis: hi Rex
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Ravenelle Zugzwang accepted your inventory offer.
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Rex Cronon: hi...
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Laetizia Coronet: sheesh, other people :D
[2007/08/08 15: 24] You: Laetizia and easylay (?!) too!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Bridie Linden: Sorry 'bout that!
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Dimitrio Lewis: hey Laetizia :)
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Rex Cronon: is everybody crashing now?
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Daedalus Young: hi Laetizia
[2007/08/08 15: 24] Laetizia Coronet: hi all
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Wyn Galbraith: Heya Tizia!
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Rex Cronon: hi
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Bridie Linden: Hello Laetizia
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Wyn Galbraith is fine at the moment.
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Bridie Linden: Hey Rex
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Laetizia Coronet: sorry bout the hair, cant attach the rest of my new do :(
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Daedalus Young: wb Iridium
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Iridium Linden: Crashed, sorry.
[2007/08/08 15: 25] You: WB Iridium, I wonder why you all crashed.
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Bridie Linden: Did we make changes to WR-1628?
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Iridium Linden: I changed the priority on 1628.
[2007/08/08 15: 25] You: Thanx I saw that.
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Bridie Linden: and move to be a feature req?
[2007/08/08 15: 25] You: I changed it to "New Feature" instead.
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Bridie Linden: great
[2007/08/08 15: 25] Iridium Linden: kk
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Rex Cronon: i guess people r using the voice enabled viewer?
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Iridium Linden: So are we importing or holding off?
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Bridie Linden: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Viewer_Crashes_Agenda
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Bridie Linden: Right Iridium
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Wyn Galbraith is recieving an ed-u-acation in TurboCache.
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Bridie Linden: Next up: VWR-1895
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Iridium Linden: Which one, Bridie?
[2007/08/08 15: 26] You: Iridium, holding off I'd say.
[2007/08/08 15: 26] You: 0 votes.
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Iridium Linden: Ah, kk.
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Iridium Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1895
[2007/08/08 15: 26] You: OK Next!
[2007/08/08 15: 26] Rex Cronon: nice:)
[2007/08/08 15: 27] Bridie Linden: Good timing Rex!
[2007/08/08 15: 27] Rex Cronon: were u waiting for me:)
[2007/08/08 15: 27] Bridie Linden: I saw your comment....
[2007/08/08 15: 27] Bridie Linden: A reminder that a 'Resolved' bug is not the same as 'Closed'. Resolved issues are by definition assigned back to the Reporter, but are still considered active. When an item is Resolved 'needs more info', what we mean is that it won't be fruitful for us to import into our internal issue tracker without more details. We're asking the Reporter -- and others!-- to provide more info.
[2007/08/08 15: 28] You: Rex one sec, I'll check for your crash logs to see if you sent any on that day...
[2007/08/08 15: 28] Rex Cronon: happily i haven't crashed since than
[2007/08/08 15: 28] Wyn Galbraith: I bet they have the Intel graphic chipset and just not getting the blue screen. Mine can hang for about 2 minutes before going blue.
[2007/08/08 15: 28] Iridium Linden: Thanks for clarifying that, Bridie. I wondered about the subtle distinctions.
[2007/08/08 15: 28] Bridie Linden: It is a subtle and can be confusing...
[2007/08/08 15: 28] Rex Cronon: but, i have upgraded my ram to 2gb
[2007/08/08 15: 28] You: OK I see a couple, I'll link them to that issue (they can only be accessed by Lindens).
[2007/08/08 15: 29] Wyn Galbraith: I did that, still got the same problem. That was Gateways solution since I can't change the chipset.
[2007/08/08 15: 29] Bridie Linden: No crashes since upgrading ram Rex?
[2007/08/08 15: 29] Wyn Galbraith: Adding memory that is.
[2007/08/08 15: 29] Rex Cronon: none yet:)
[2007/08/08 15: 29] Wyn Galbraith: :P at Rex ;)
[2007/08/08 15: 29] You: Rex, can you please paste the complete contents of Help menu > About Second Life in that issue?
[2007/08/08 15: 30] Rex Cronon: i don't understand
[2007/08/08 15: 30] You: I notice you didn't include your system info -- that window gives your system info.
[2007/08/08 15: 30] You: More details on how to do it: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Debug_Help
[2007/08/08 15: 30] You: I only see "laptop, 1Gb ram, windows xp" at the top but we should have more details, always. :)
[2007/08/08 15: 30] Rex Cronon: don't u get those specs when i send a crash report?
[2007/08/08 15: 31] Bridie Linden: Hello again!
[2007/08/08 15: 31] Iridium Linden: k, so where are we with 1895?
[2007/08/08 15: 31] Aric Linden: not always rex
[2007/08/08 15: 31] You: Yes -- we do, but for good practice in the future, even if you don't crash. And to confirm you do have 2 GB of RAM because for some reason the crash report says "NONE".
[2007/08/08 15: 31] You: But yeah as Aric says...
[2007/08/08 15: 31] You: some info is missing. :\
[2007/08/08 15: 31] Laetizia Coronet: (hey half my hair appeared)
[2007/08/08 15: 31] You: You are on an unsupported Intel 945GM chipset.
[2007/08/08 15: 31] Aric Linden: Sometimes when your system can't write out a crash report we get nothing
[2007/08/08 15: 31] Rex Cronon: at that time i had only 1g
[2007/08/08 15: 32] You: As Wyn hypothesized earlier.
[2007/08/08 15: 32] Aric Linden: Sometimes the job that writes out crash reports can't run
[2007/08/08 15: 32] Aric Linden: more info is always better
[2007/08/08 15: 32] You: Thanks Aric. =)
[2007/08/08 15: 32] Rex Cronon: so my graphics card is not supported?
[2007/08/08 15: 32] Wyn Galbraith: I did crash less uping the ram.
[2007/08/08 15: 32] Wyn Galbraith: What's your chipset Rex?
[2007/08/08 15: 32] Rex Cronon: Second Life 1.18.0 (6) Jul 11 2007 11:18:55 (Second Life Release) You are at 262034.0, 258087.6, 30.8 in Levenhall located at sim4586.agni.lindenlab.com (63.210.158.236:13005) CPU: Intel Pentium Pro (Unknown model) (1861 MHz) Memory: 2038 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) Graphics Card Vendor: Intel Graphics Card: Intel 945GM OpenGL Version: 1.4.0 - Build 4.14.10.4436 LLMozLib Version: 1.1.0 (Mozilla GRE:1.8.0.12_0000000000)
[2007/08/08 15: 33] You: Thanks Rex!
[2007/08/08 15: 33] Wyn Galbraith: Ype I got the asme one.
[2007/08/08 15: 33] Rex Cronon: np
[2007/08/08 15: 33] Wyn Galbraith: *same
[2007/08/08 15: 33] Wyn Galbraith: Are your drivers up to date?
[2007/08/08 15: 33] Wyn Galbraith: Oh wait it's there.
[2007/08/08 15: 34] Rex Cronon: mine, not really, if i upgrade to the latest ones the viewer doesn't even load
[2007/08/08 15: 34] Rex Cronon: i had to go back
[2007/08/08 15: 34] Wyn Galbraith: My driver version is 6.14.10.4820 for that chipset.
[2007/08/08 15: 35] Rex Cronon: and u never got a black screen wyn?
[2007/08/08 15: 35] Wyn Galbraith: It did before I upgraded the ram. Sometimes it hangs, everything freezes, then in a while it hits the blue screen.
[2007/08/08 15: 35] Wyn Galbraith: Great big STOP.
[2007/08/08 15: 36] Bridie Linden: hmmm
[2007/08/08 15: 36] Wyn Galbraith says sadly, "We're just doomed, Rex."
[2007/08/08 15: 36] Rex Cronon: i don't get to the blue screen
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Wyn Galbraith thinks it's because it's not OpenGL 2.0.
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Aric Linden: wyn is correct
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Laetizia Coronet thinks it is a conspiracy led by Prok N
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Wyn Galbraith: Whee, I win!
[2007/08/08 15: 37] You: OK I suggest we move on to the next issue. :)
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Wyn Galbraith: LOL Tizia.
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Bridie Linden: Aric, how about we import and prompt dev to look into?
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Iridium Linden: VWR-2013
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Aric Linden: works for me
[2007/08/08 15: 37] You: The problem here I think has to do with unsupported graphic chipset...
[2007/08/08 15: 37] Wyn Galbraith becomes the Intel chipset expert.
[2007/08/08 15: 37] You: *imports*
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Bridie Linden: Add any comments you have to 1895 Wyn?
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Bridie Linden: thx Torley
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Iridium Linden: If it's unsupported, do you think we should be importing it though?
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Wyn Galbraith: Sure.
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Iridium Linden: shall we import and mark with needs more info?
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Aric Linden: needs someone to kick intel in the behind
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Iridium Linden: Yus.
[2007/08/08 15: 38] You: Intel's poor OpenGL support.
[2007/08/08 15: 38] Laetizia Coronet: Aric they needed that loooong ago
[2007/08/08 15: 39] Iridium Linden: kk, so we already imported.
[2007/08/08 15: 39] You: Yes Iridium.
[2007/08/08 15: 39] Rex Cronon: could the viewer check the ogl see what version, than not try to use functions that are not available?
[2007/08/08 15: 39] You: I'll make a note internally too...
[2007/08/08 15: 39] Iridium Linden: Great. VWR-2013 is next.
[2007/08/08 15: 39] Iridium Linden: Right?
[2007/08/08 15: 39] You: Rex, that's generally the case with things like Vertex Shaders, but there could be any one of a number of other things that trip the system up. :\
[2007/08/08 15: 40] Bridie Linden: Yes, 2013
[2007/08/08 15: 40] Rex Cronon: ok, i hope it never happens
[2007/08/08 15: 40] Bridie Linden: New laptop with Radeon Xpress 200M
[2007/08/08 15: 40] Bridie Linden: Needs more info?
[2007/08/08 15: 41] Laetizia Coronet: got that too - not up to par with SL I can tell you
[2007/08/08 15: 41] You: We don't support that graphics card either.
[2007/08/08 15: 41] Bridie Linden: Ah right
[2007/08/08 15: 41] You: We haven't done enough testing of it.
[2007/08/08 15: 41] You: Or tested it formally at all (?). I don't know that part. Aric?
[2007/08/08 15: 41] Iridium Linden: Shall we import never-the-less and mark with "Needs more info?"
[2007/08/08 15: 41] Aric Linden: Not with that version of XP torley.
[2007/08/08 15: 42] You: OK -- we should have more info, and at least, a crash log I reckon.
[2007/08/08 15: 42] Laetizia Coronet: it runs with all fancy bits off with a definitely meagre framerate
[2007/08/08 15: 42] You: Seems to be an isolated case (for now).
[2007/08/08 15: 42] Bridie Linden: I agree Torley
[2007/08/08 15: 42] You: Resolving as Needs More Info then, sound good?
[2007/08/08 15: 42] Aric Linden: I don't think you can buy that OS anynmore
[2007/08/08 15: 42] Aric Linden: oh wait, my bad, someone just did
[2007/08/08 15: 42] Bridie Linden: Hey Kiahno, Saijanai
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Aric Linden: youuch
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Laetizia Coronet: Aric, mine is from May 06 so "new" is questionable yes
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Bridie Linden: ouch!
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Iridium Linden: Great! VWR-2035 is next.
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Rex Cronon: maybe it might be usefull if ll would provide a little program that tests the ogl, and another small one to test the graphics card>?
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Aric Linden: we've talked about that Rex.
[2007/08/08 15: 43] Daedalus Young: we'd need to know if Rob's suggestion there helped
[2007/08/08 15: 43] You: See Rob's comment at the bottom.
[2007/08/08 15: 44] You: Needs More Info I say, the reporter hasn't confirmed if he upgraded his drivers.
[2007/08/08 15: 44] Daedalus Young: I agree
[2007/08/08 15: 44] Bridie Linden: Righto, Torley!
[2007/08/08 15: 44] Laetizia Coronet: he prolly cant with his laptop - I can't
[2007/08/08 15: 44] Iridium Linden: Was that 2035 or 2013?
[2007/08/08 15: 44] Bridie Linden: that was 2035
[2007/08/08 15: 44] Laetizia Coronet: oops, strike my comment then
[2007/08/08 15: 45] You: Yes 2035!
[2007/08/08 15: 45] Bridie Linden: VWR-1926
[2007/08/08 15: 45] You: Sounds like a year from the future. :D
[2007/08/08 15: 45] Iridium Linden: lol
[2007/08/08 15: 45] Iridium Linden: It does.
[2007/08/08 15: 45] Daedalus Young: Nicholaz says he fixed that
[2007/08/08 15: 45] You: OK this is linked to the really big one, WEB 257.
[2007/08/08 15: 45] Laetizia Coronet: please... I'll be 65 or so then
[2007/08/08 15: 46] Daedalus Young: (I recently watched the BTTF Trilogy, so every number is a date for me :P )
[2007/08/08 15: 46] You: I should ask Nicholaz which issue has t he patch for this crash, then.
[2007/08/08 15: 46] Bridie Linden nods
[2007/08/08 15: 47] You: K... adding comment...
[2007/08/08 15: 47] Iridium Linden: kk, so needs more info?
[2007/08/08 15: 47] Bridie Linden: Might be fixed or 'fixed internally' ...
[2007/08/08 15: 47] You: Yes -- I'll suggest just leave it for now.
[2007/08/08 15: 47] Bridie Linden: can we leave open for now and Torley follow up
[2007/08/08 15: 47] Iridium Linden: k
[2007/08/08 15: 47] You: Nicholaz is really good at getting back to us.
[2007/08/08 15: 47] Iridium Linden: VWR-2006
[2007/08/08 15: 47] Bridie Linden: great minds!
[2007/08/08 15: 48] Laetizia Coronet: sounds like a year from the past
[2007/08/08 15: 48] You: Hahaha.
[2007/08/08 15: 48] Bridie Linden: Welcome Dram, Dirk
[2007/08/08 15: 48] Bridie Linden: We're still traigin' bugs here
[2007/08/08 15: 48] Daedalus Young: sounds like teleport times out
[2007/08/08 15: 48] Dirk Talamasca: Thanks Bridie ; )
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Iridium Linden: VWR-2006 is next.
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Iridium Linden: :)
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Bridie Linden: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Viewer_Crashes_Agenda
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Laetizia Coronet: hey Dirk
[2007/08/08 15: 49] You: Wow look how many have come.
[2007/08/08 15: 49] You: OK, you know what...
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Aric Linden: um, i think this is related to network issues, not an ongoing bug
[2007/08/08 15: 49] You: VWR-2006 sounds very suspicious...
[2007/08/08 15: 49] You: It sounds like... sec...
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Bridie Linden: dupe?
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Aric Linden: grins at his friend
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Rex Cronon: btw, login right now is kind of slow
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Dram Broome: Do you guys all work here?
[2007/08/08 15: 49] You: Well I was going to say VWR-2019, which is linked.
[2007/08/08 15: 49] Bridie Linden: Yes, Rex - tough day on the grid!
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Aric Linden: I want a tee shirt that says the future is stupid, but the way
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Laetizia Coronet: no Dram, only the people called Linden work here
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Bridie Linden: Dram, just the lIndens here
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Iridium Linden: I have one, Eric.
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Aric Linden: sorry, but/buy
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Iridium Linden: It's a KidRobot t-shirt.
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Aric Linden: so excellent
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Iridium Linden: :)
[2007/08/08 15: 50] You: In VWR-2019, the reporter says "the problem is solved now. it resolved on its own."
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Wyn Galbraith: Added comments to VWR-1895, sorry got RL distracted so let me catch up.
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Aric Linden: i'm thinking of getting 'em for all the qa'ers
[2007/08/08 15: 50] You: So related to what Aric was saying, this may've cleared up when network issues went away.
[2007/08/08 15: 50] Laetizia Coronet: qa'ers?
[2007/08/08 15: 51] You: Altho VWR-2006 was commented on really recently.
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Aric Linden: test weasels?
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Bridie Linden: Let's resolve as 'needs more info'? Try again?
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Aric Linden: but it could've been a result of network stuff when they commented
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Iridium Linden: kk
[2007/08/08 15: 51] You: Sounds safe to me.
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Dimitrio Lewis: Bridie, sorry to run off but I want to go try and locate Blue's office.
[2007/08/08 15: 51] You: Let's do that.
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Iridium Linden: VWR-1950 is next.
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Bridie Linden: Np Dimitrio
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Wyn Galbraith: The future is stupid, we don't live there.
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Laetizia Coronet: Dimitrio, follow me, I am useless here
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Dimitrio Lewis: Thanks for having me. Was great seeing everyone :)
[2007/08/08 15: 51] Iridium Linden: It's in his Picks, Dimitrio.
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Iridium Linden: the link.
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Dimitrio Lewis: :)
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Laetizia Coronet: bye all!
[2007/08/08 15: 52] You: Have a good one Dimi!
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Iridium Linden: Bye!
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Wyn Galbraith: Bye
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Aric Linden: so long
[2007/08/08 15: 52] Iridium Linden: kk. so VWR-1950.
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Aric Linden: I don't think this is do-able
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Wyn Galbraith: Good year, 1950.
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Bridie Linden: Torley did u wanna link 2006 to 2019?
[2007/08/08 15: 53] You: They were already linked, good thing. :)
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Bridie Linden: Oh good
[2007/08/08 15: 53] You: And as for VWR-1950, hmmm...
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Bridie Linden: 1950 sounds like one we discussed before...
[2007/08/08 15: 53] You: I remember seeing this before...
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Bridie Linden: @ Rob's triage?
[2007/08/08 15: 53] Rex Cronon: just crashed while zooming in on treba:(
[2007/08/08 15: 53] You: No comments or anything tho... weird...
[2007/08/08 15: 54] Rex Cronon: trebla*
[2007/08/08 15: 54] Wyn Galbraith: Don't do that Rex, or do it werry carewully.
[2007/08/08 15: 54] You: I don't know how feasible VWR-1950 is.
[2007/08/08 15: 54] Wyn Galbraith: I think it would be hard to do, but I don't know SL deep enough to be sure.
[2007/08/08 15: 55] Rex Cronon: i was just checking the lid of his can:)
[2007/08/08 15: 55] Saijanai Kuhn: If they don't have the name of the avatar memorized, I don't see how it would be possible
[2007/08/08 15: 55] Aric Linden: yes bridie. we did this at rob's triage a few weeks ago
[2007/08/08 15: 55] You: What happened at Rob's?
[2007/08/08 15: 55] Bridie Linden: I thought Soft had said he didn't even know if it would be possible
[2007/08/08 15: 55] Aric Linden: And i think we agreed that it wasn't possible
[2007/08/08 15: 55] Aric Linden: because once the sim is down, it can't write to anything
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Bridie Linden: Right
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Dirk Talamasca: score 1 for the crashers
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Bridie Linden: lol
[2007/08/08 15: 56] You: I suppose the nearest hope someone has is to type their abuse report in an external notepad app and then copy and paste it when they log in again.
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Rex Cronon: maybe u can do something else
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Aric Linden: yeah. sort of a old school technique
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Bridie Linden: so, resolve as 'won't fix'?
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Aric Linden: nods sadly
[2007/08/08 15: 56] You: Sounds like it. :(
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Daedalus Young: it's discussed earlier indeed, it's on the wiki:
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Daedalus Young: VWR-1950 - Votes: 0 - Make "Report Abuse" always available even after sim crash - Rosen Janus No action, waiting for more votes and comments
[2007/08/08 15: 56] Wyn Galbraith: I don't see how you can predict that it's a grief crash, so AR's aren't fortune tellers, someone has to select it.
[2007/08/08 15: 57] You: Thanks for finding that Daedalus.
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Saijanai Kuhn: with explanation. Always explain the "won't fix"
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Rex Cronon: when a user right-clicks on a object they should be able to get the key of that object
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Daedalus Young: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/2007-08-01
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Bridie Linden: Thax Daedalus
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Daedalus Young: yw
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Bridie Linden: 1 vote since then
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Wyn Galbraith: Not fixable then?
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Iridium Linden: Yeah, I'm with you guys on this one. Won't fix, I say.
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Wyn Galbraith: Wasn't me!
[2007/08/08 15: 57] You: OK...
[2007/08/08 15: 57] You: *marks it*
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Iridium Linden: And I actually have an opinion this time, lol.
[2007/08/08 15: 57] You: =)
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Bridie Linden: Wow, it's almost 4pm...
[2007/08/08 15: 57] Bridie Linden: one more?
[2007/08/08 15: 58] Wyn Galbraith: Sure.
[2007/08/08 15: 58] Iridium Linden: VWR-2000

[2007/08/08 15: 58] Ckarini Beck: soo....
[2007/08/08 15: 59] Wyn Galbraith: Is Ubuntu Feisty Fawn a flavor of Linux?
[2007/08/08 15: 59] You: Also BTW re: VWR-1950, I'll explain we have logs of sim activity, meaning we know who's crashing multiple regions. So they won't be lost.
[2007/08/08 15: 59] Bridie Linden: Thx Torley
[2007/08/08 15: 59] Daedalus Young: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeistyFawn

[2007/08/08 15: 59] Bridie Linden: Aric what do you think about 2000? Import?
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Aric Linden: yes.
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Bridie Linden: "on exit the client coredumps with a corrupted double link list. [ Show ? ] Sariel Villota - 06/Aug/07 01:57 PM Although issue seems to have resolved on startup, on exit the client coredumps with a corrupted double link list. "
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Bridie Linden: kk
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Aric Linden: I think we need to include this in the ongoing make linux work wars
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Wyn Galbraith loves those names.
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Bridie Linden: I think we're out of time for today!
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Saijanai Kuhn: sounds like they belongin Rob's Beer dispenser
[2007/08/08 16: 00] Aric Linden: it's just fuel for discussion. we may've already fixed this, but it's worth importint
