[7:59] Gellan Glenelg: .. hi CG
[7:59] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... Hello CG
[7:59] Close Range: ..... Lamorna Proctor [22m]
[8:00] Close Range: ..... Aargle Zymurgy [23m]
[8:00] CG Linden: . Good morning folks
[8:00] HALEY Salomon: ...... good morning to you
[8:00] Lamorna Proctor: ....... Hi CG
[8:00] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ woohoo!
[8:00] Dartagan Shepherd: ......... greets, CG
[8:00] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ is this where the party is?
[8:00] CG Linden: . Dunno about party :)
[8:00] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... this is the best time you can have at 8AM
[8:00] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ hm.. no sex, drugs and rock & roll?
[8:00] CG Linden: . /yawns
[8:01] CG Linden: . I see grey people
[8:01] Aimee Trescothick: .......... must be contagious, me too
[8:01] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ is that like frmo a new movie, the "SLixth SLense?"
[8:01] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ dang... try saying THAT title outloud
[8:02] Lamorna Proctor: ....... yesh
[8:02] Lamorna Proctor puts her teeth back in
[8:02] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ LOL
[8:02] HALEY Salomon: ...... so,, the new release came out and then you went backwards??
[8:02] CG Linden: . (-;
[8:02] CG Linden: . well, server side, yes
[8:03] Lamorna Proctor: ....... nice to see someone with a Cornish last name, Aimee
[8:03] CG Linden: . one of the back end jobs was rewriting the xml parser that saves sim states, and it seems it ate the newlines in strings
[8:03] Aimee Trescothick: .......... :D the rest of me is Cornish too :)
[8:03] CG Linden: . then we discovered a memory leak...
[8:03] Lamorna Proctor: ....... me too
[8:03] Aargle Zymurgy is just Corny
[8:03] Aimee Trescothick: .......... cool :)
[8:04] CG Linden: . we're stilltesting the fixes for that, and we may try again later this week
[8:04] CG Linden: . this of course affects the release date for mono
[8:04] Lamorna Proctor: ....... :(((
[8:05] CG Linden: . so we're still looking at "in 3 weeks"
[8:05] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ bummer
[8:05] CG Linden: . one problem is that the viewer side is a little behind too
[8:05] Lamorna Proctor: ....... all i want for Christmas is my Mono
[8:05] CG Linden wants a Bonanza
[8:06] Close Range: ..... Bri Gufler [29m]
[8:06] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ well, does that increase the chances of the UV touch code added?
[8:06] CG Linden: . Hi Bri
[8:06] Bri Gufler: ........... Hi Everyone
[8:06] Aargle Zymurgy looks for the silver lining
[8:06] CG Linden: . it's in the queue, but I'll know better end of this week
[8:06] HALEY Salomon: ...... it's in preferences giggles
[8:06] HALEY Salomon: ...... silver get it??
[8:06] Aimee Trescothick: .......... (If you run it on a dual-core does it become Stereo?)
[8:06] Aargle Zymurgy blinks
[8:07] Lamorna Proctor: ....... i didn't know you could set "giggles" in preferences
[8:07] CG Linden: . but one could set bonanza I guess :)
[8:07] HALEY Salomon: ...... haha
[8:07] Aargle Zymurgy watches as the conversation takes a serious downhill turn.
[8:07] CG Linden: . So, we started the BSI program
[8:08] CG Linden: . gosh is texture loading slow...
[8:08] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ is my name still in that?
[8:08] Aimee Trescothick: .......... I sometimes wonder if it would be quicker to pain the textures myself
[8:08] CG Linden: . let me see the download queue...
[8:08] Aimee Trescothick: .......... *paint
[8:09] CG Linden: . Hm.... no pending downloads.
[8:09] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ "... it's either going to be a photo finish or an oil painting...." -- Spike Jones
[8:09] CG Linden: . must be my home network
[8:09] CG Linden: . ok, hmmm
[8:10] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... seems the bandwidth throttle is not opening up
[8:10] CG Linden: . so viewer side, RC14 will be the last one in the 1.20 series
[8:10] CG Linden: . comes out this week, we expect to make it the default viewer next week
[8:11] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... love the skin choice
[8:11] CG Linden: . 1.21 will include mono support, some changes to the UI for snapshots, voice group moderation (yeah - that one's been sitting in the queue for months)
[8:12] CG Linden: . and a couple of little tools to help G-Team and support, not sure what they are in detail
[8:12] CG Linden hopes its some more help to track down particle spammers
[8:13] Lamorna Proctor: ....... just going back to server-side, CG, is there any word on my chess piece bug?
[8:13] CG Linden: . Bri finally turned from grey to black...
[8:13] Dartagan Shepherd: ......... what's the voice moderation?
[8:13] CG Linden: . Andrew is working on the collision detection bug
[8:13] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ as opposed to voice modulation? :-)
[8:13] CG Linden: . yours is next
[8:13] Lamorna Proctor: ....... :) thanks
[8:14] CG Linden: . let me check, quickly...
[8:14] CG Linden: . (what voice group moderation is)
[8:14] CG Linden: . I thinkmI know, but better to read the docs :)
[8:14] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ docs? we don't need no steeenking docs!
[8:15] Lamorna Proctor: ....... when all else fails, read the instructions
[8:15] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ I thought it was "if at first you don't succeed..... read the directions"
[8:15] Bri Gufler: ........... This makes me feel like I should put on my RTFM shirt :)
[8:15] Lamorna Proctor: ....... :)
[8:15] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ I need one of those.
[8:15] Lamorna Proctor: ....... me too
[8:16] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ AH, sweet!
[8:16] Lamorna Proctor: ....... thanks Bri :)
[8:16] Bri Gufler: ........... yw :)
[8:16] CG Linden: . ok, voice group moderation adds a new conversation mode
[8:16] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... like
[8:17] CG Linden: . it only applies for group voice or text chat
[8:17] CG Linden: . new entrants to a moderated group will start life muted
[8:17] HALEY Salomon: ...... the UI for snapshots does that mean we will,, be able to set the aspect ratio again?? forgiving on understanding all of the ,, language
[8:17] Dartagan Shepherd: ......... ah, like a +v in an IRC room
[8:18] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... oops Dart
[8:18] CG Linden: . The moderator can then give the "floor" to anyone he wishes, and yank it away, too.
[8:18] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... oh that sounds good
[8:18] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ oh, nice.... does that mean you can't have spammers suddenly starting group chats with "free $L come camp at ________" ?
[8:18] Bri Gufler: ........... That is a great idea
[8:18] CG Linden: . yep
[8:18] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ \o/
[8:18] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ colspan="12" style="white-space:normal;" Yay!
[8:18] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ / \
[8:19] Dartagan Shepherd grins
[8:19] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... I would like to be able to start a confenernce from the active Channel list
[8:19] CG Linden: . File a PJIRA :)
[8:19] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... that would really help in the Mentor Channel
[8:20] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ geez.... it'll help ALL my groups
[8:20] HALEY Salomon: ...... so you can shut somebody up in a group without throwing them out??
[8:20] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... you can do that already
[8:20] CG Linden: . yes, in fact, in a moderated group, everyome starts out shut up
[8:20] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ oh?
[8:20] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ hm
[8:20] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... click the << top right and click on their name
[8:20] Bri Gufler: ........... This is GREAT. We have needed this for a while
[8:20] CG Linden: . now all you can do is personallty mte them
[8:21] CG Linden: . and there is a bug, that's being fixed in RC14 I believe, where muted residents can still get back to you by starting a group chat in a group you belong...
[8:22] CG Linden: . stuff people will do to harrass and stalk, amazing...
[8:22] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... yes I have seen that
[8:22] CG Linden: . so VWR-7510 will be fixed in RC14
[8:22] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ people need better hobbies
[8:23] CG Linden: . where are the fashion designers inhad last time?
[8:23] CG Linden: . Bubbly something :)
[8:23] CG Linden: . for once I could actually do something...
[8:24] HALEY Salomon: ...... speaking of ,, fashion,, really like the blue suit
[8:24] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... It isrumoured that when LL closed the SL5B sims, something went haywire and the asset servrs have been staggering ever since.
[8:25] CG Linden: . oh thank you , or rather thank Swaffette
[8:25] CG Linden: . whenever someone says "asset server", you can probably discount the rumor :)
[8:26] CG Linden: . In my ample free time, I'm going to build a little model of the server side, and hopefully then you'll understand that "asset server" doesn't really exist
[8:26] Lamorna Proctor: ....... lol
[8:26] Bri Gufler: ........... actually a model made of prims would be cool.
[8:26] CG Linden: . as far as I know, SL5B had no impact
[8:27] CG Linden: . yep, that was what I was thinking - with little pipes that flow ....
[8:27] Starfox Howl: ............ Then why is "The asset server....." referred to in the blogs?
[8:27] Bri Gufler: ........... That would be great. Particle beams that show the path of a request, etc.
[8:27] CG Linden: . it's a shorthand for a variety of systems
[8:28] Lamorna Proctor: ....... it will have to be made up of lab equipment, like retort stands, etc
[8:28] CG Linden: . I think most of you were there when I showed you the asset usage graph
[8:28] Lamorna Proctor: ....... and flasks of stuff glugging away
[8:28] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ and one of those Jacob's Ladder things buzzing away
[8:28] HALEY Salomon: ...... yes,, the charts help us understand
[8:28] Lamorna Proctor: ....... heheh
[8:28] CG Linden: . the "asset server", if you want to call it, is composed of two 56 node clusters storing 240 TB of data each
[8:28] Aimee Trescothick: .......... packet loss modelled by a leak in the bottom
[8:29] Lamorna Proctor: ....... lol @ aimee
[8:29] Starfox Howl: ............ and attened to by a flock of code monkeys? or would that be black robed computer alcoyites?
[8:29] CG Linden: . think one honking huge file server
[8:29] CG Linden: . as of late, it's actually been working pretty well
[8:29] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... ah thats why you refer to them as Clusters
[8:29] CG Linden: . but asset problems can occur in a variety of places
[8:30] Starfox Howl: ............ Are they SUN RISC machines, Mr. Linden?
[8:30] CG Linden: . no :)
[8:30] CG Linden: . you're dating yourself :)
[8:30] Aimee Trescothick often wonders where the lost packets go, I reckon theres a pile of little lost hair and shoes at the bottom of each server rack
[8:30] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... lol
[8:30] Gellan Glenelg: .. ZX81s? ;P
[8:30] Aimee Trescothick: .......... or they may get sucked away by the hvac system
[8:30] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ those join those missing single-socks
[8:30] Gellan Glenelg: .. (yes - I *am* old)
[8:30] Starfox Howl: ............ I don't do much with computers. Mostly I'm still learning.
[8:31] Lamorna Proctor: ....... the transaction server is an original Charles Babbage Analytical Engine :)
[8:31] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... does LL have any Mainframes
[8:31] CG Linden: . hehe
[8:31] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ LOL @ Lam
[8:31] CG Linden: . might as well be, since we don't have one :)
[8:31] Starfox Howl: ............ ohhhhhh.. no wonder my babbler is slow.
[8:31] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ got one of those Turing machines with the strip of paper?
[8:32] CG Linden: . no mainframes, although arguably our databse servers would have been mainframes just a few years ago
[8:32] Aimee Trescothick wonders how often they change the vacuum tubes
[8:32] Bri Gufler: ........... Most of our desktops would have been mainframes 10 years ago :)
[8:32] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ "now, you too can play Zyngo that's stored on punch-cards!"
[8:32] Starfox Howl: ............ Aimee, is that before or after the moth gets caught in the racks?
[8:32] Lamorna Proctor: ....... my 1 TB external hard drive would have been a mainframe a few years ago
[8:32] Bri Gufler: ........... Though not with balanced IO, etc.
[8:32] Aimee Trescothick: .......... :)
[8:33] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... and I heard you now have a Redundant Data storeage device
[8:33] CG Linden: . our goal is to decentralize, if anything
[8:33] Aimee Trescothick still has a 5MB hard drive around somewhere :D
[8:33] Starfox Howl: ............ ARgyle, I'm learning those right now.
[8:33] CG Linden: . the asset cluster was always a redundent storage device
[8:33] CG Linden: . we can lose two nodes and not lose any data
[8:33] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... DASD
[8:34] Lamorna Proctor: ....... it's actually a Redundant Data Storage Data Server
[8:34] CG Linden: . and we have two of them
[8:34] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... wow
[8:34] CG Linden: . Hi Cummere
[8:34] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... is that in RAM or Disk Drive
[8:35] Cummere Mayo: ............. 'ello sorryy way overslept
[8:35] Starfox Howl: ............ That would be interesting, to see a 540 Terrabyte memory array.
[8:35] Starfox Howl: ............ sorry 240 TB
[8:35] CG Linden: . the nodes end up looking a lot like conventional web servers
[8:36] CG Linden: . so... your fashionistas will be happy to know that http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8012 turns out to be a one-line fix which will be in the 1.21 viewer
[8:36] Starfox Howl: ............ The more we talk about it, the more I start feeling like TRON.
[8:36] CG Linden: . hehe
[8:36] Cummere Mayo: ............. yay!
[8:36] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ now about just going with 0.24 PB?
[8:36] Close Range: ..... Eglantine Frog [38m]
[8:37] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... you will be assimilated
[8:37] CG Linden: . I need to build the "bit", I know the gesture exists
[8:38] Starfox Howl: ............ WHat about the JIRA entry about the Animation Overrides?
[8:38] Starfox Howl: ............ Sorry, I don't have the number.
[8:38] Lamorna Proctor: ....... which problem is it?
[8:38] CG Linden: . Neither do I :)
[8:39] CG Linden: . so what problem is that?
[8:39] McCabe Maxsted: .............. lemme find it
[8:39] Starfox Howl: ............ I think its the one where AO will be replaced by allowing the user to replace the anamations directly, rather than have a scritp checking and overriding the default animations.
[8:40] McCabe Maxsted: .............. http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-386
[8:40] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ oh, that would be heaven if you ask me.
[8:40] Lamorna Proctor would be ecstatic
[8:40] Cummere Mayo shrugs "dunno but since .13 came out i cant even use my aos half the time. get constant stack heap errors
[8:40] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ which AO ar eyou using, Cummere?
[8:41] Starfox Howl: ............ I was asked by a group blast to vote on it, but I don't understand enough about scripting and things to vote properly.
[8:41] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... I have never seen these before EnusBot109 LLQABot
[8:41] CG Linden: . I don't think anyone's working on that at the moment
[8:41] HALEY Salomon: ...... don't worry,,, I know you can get some that will work,,, perfectly,,
[8:41] McCabe Maxsted: .............. basically, AOs are a scripting hack to override the default animations, and they use up a lot of cycles. The feature request is to have the viewer come with an ability to replace default animatins built in to avoid that
[8:41] CG Linden: . All those people on the blog who clamor "fix bugs, don't add new features" scared us or something :)
[8:42] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ that's too bad. though, I'd love to smack some of the animators here for not giving us choices on priorities. I almost wish that was an option on modifiable animation
[8:42] Cummere Mayo: ............. a couple of zhaos and A KD override
[8:42] McCabe Maxsted: .............. hehe :)
[8:42] Lamorna Proctor strongly agrees with priority modification
[8:42] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ you could probably trim the zhao down a bit if you knew scripting
[8:43] Lamorna Proctor: ....... but it's a very good idea, and one i suggest you prioritize when the time comes :)
[8:43] Starfox Howl: ............ Well, Mr. Linden, aren't they correct, that you need to fix what you have before adding something new?
[8:43] McCabe Maxsted: .............. 1.20.13 seems to have introduced a new memory leak; is there anyone at LL tracking those down?
[8:43] Lamorna Proctor: ....... it would cut down a lot of lag
[8:43] HALEY Salomon: ...... the first AO I made made me cry there are better ones ,, already configured
[8:43] CG Linden: . well, as usual, and like everything else in real life, it isn't that simple
[8:43] Starfox Howl smiles and nods
[8:43] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ I'm with Lam.... that change alone would help since everyone and his alt has an AO here.
[8:43] Starfox Howl: ............ oh don't I know that's true.
[8:44] CG Linden: . The skinning pro=ject you're seeing is just the beginning
[8:44] Starfox Howl: ............ eh?
[8:44] Starfox Howl: ............ who's getting skinned?
[8:44] CG Linden: . you could say it's a new feature, but in fact it grew out of a wholesale cleanup
[8:45] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... I think LL can very well add new features and repair any deficiencies
[8:45] CG Linden: . the viewer, if you haven't noticed :)
[8:45] Starfox Howl: ............ I'm using 1.19.1
[8:45] McCabe Maxsted: .............. hehe yeah, I gotta say I appreciate all that background stuff nobody but viewer tinkerers see :)
[8:46] CG Linden: . anyway, the deeper goal of that project is to abstract out the functionality from the interface, and the expectation is that we end up wioth a scriptable viewer
[8:46] Starfox Howl: ............ Sorry, I've been in the process of moving my home the last few weeks and haven't really been paying attention.
[8:46] CG Linden: . which will make UI changes a lot simpler and faster to implement, and also allow better testing
[8:46] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... notice how I said Deficiencies not problems there are no problems only oppertunities to fix things
[8:47] Cummere Mayo: ............. xlr they do allot. but some are harder then others to do
[8:47] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... LL is doing a Great job
[8:47] Starfox Howl: ............ This new viewer, is it available now for use?
[8:48] CG Linden: . you can get it from the download page under "test viewers"
[8:48] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... RC 13 is out
[8:48] CG Linden: . we expect it to become the default viewer next week
[8:48] Starfox Howl smiles
[8:48] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ btw.... does anyone know the name of the font used in our titles and hovertext?
[8:48] McCabe Maxsted: .............. yeah, it's in the fonts folder in the install
[8:48] CG Linden: . let me see...
[8:48] Starfox Howl: ............ too small?
[8:48] HALEY Salomon: ...... now why would the frame rate,,,, be lower on the new one ??? or is it just lower for everyone this morning??
[8:49] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... I have my UI set to .75 really small
[8:49] McCabe Maxsted: .............. http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php#download-Testviewers
[8:49] McCabe Maxsted: .............. that's the lnk starfox
[8:49] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... if you set it to 1.00 it gets bigger
[8:49] Starfox Howl: ............ thank you MR. Maxsted.
[8:50] CG Linden: . sim FPS are normal
[8:50] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... Ping just went to 3005 ms and is hovering at 1000ms
[8:51] Starfox Howl: ............ I know this place is a lot more stable recently. My dad and I come in world to talk, rather than use the phone.
[8:51] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... something is going on
[8:51] CG Linden: . network stuff is notoriously hard and most likely due to external stuf
[8:51] HALEY Salomon: ...... o
[8:52] Gellan Glenelg: .. 180ms ping here... from 5500 miles away
[8:52] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... Solar flairs
[8:53] Cummere Mayo: ............. hey isa
[8:53] Starfox Howl: ............ did the chipmunk running the data pump die?
[8:53] Isabeu Hand: ............... Hey there
[8:53] McCabe Maxsted: .............. must need to change the hamsters out
[8:53] Cummere Mayo: ............. lol mccabe
[8:54] CG Linden: . looks like we use a package called profontwindows and MtBdLfRg - sans serif
[8:54] CG Linden: . it's likely part of the opengl lib
[8:55] Cummere Mayo: ............. hey cg if you have a few after the end of the meeting isa here has some questiosn about mono and what it is and does *Srhugs*
[8:55] McCabe Maxsted: .............. looking to change the font?
[8:56] Close Range: ..... TLo Lorefield [34m]
[8:56] Gellan Glenelg: .. not according to http://foo.secondlifeherald.com/slh/2007/03/sl_makes_meta_f.html << claims they are commercial fonts that LL has no licence to distribute!
[8:56] Close Range: ..... TLo Lorefield [35m]
[8:56] CG Linden: . ask away, Cummere
[8:56] Aimee Trescothick: .......... I think that licencing thing was sorted out ages ago
[8:56] Close Range: ..... TLo Lorefield [40m]
[8:56] Cummere Mayo pokes isa "thats your chance
[8:56] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ hm interesting
[8:56] CG Linden: . well, secondlifeherald isn't exactly a trustworthy source...
[8:56] Aimee Trescothick: .......... lol
[8:57] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ I'm not looking to replace it.... just have graphics that tend t match
[8:57] Isabeu Hand: ............... Its really a simple uestion, Is mono a new compiler only? or will there be some added/modified functions as well?
[8:59] CG Linden: . as far as I know, there will be no mono-specific new functions, but we may add support for other languages whuch can assess the lsl functions as a library call
[8:59] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ that would be MUCH nicer
[8:59] White Player's Seat: TLo Lorefield is playing White
[8:59] Aargle Zymurgy wants real arrays
[8:59] CG Linden: . mono really is a new VM and that includes a new compiler to generate the byte code for the new vm
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: Move 1, White to play
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: Please click a piece, and then click one of the squares outlined in blue to move it to that square
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: White moves 1. d2-d4
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: Move 1, Black to play
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: Please click a piece, and then click one of the squares outlined in blue to move it to that square
[9:00] CG Linden: . the main goal is to improve performance and to allow the use of existinglanguages
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: Sorry, it is Black to move
[9:00] Starfox Howl: ............ What virtual Machine are you using now, Mr. Linden?
[9:00] McCabe Maxsted: .............. are there plans for a library of commonly used scripts, do you know?
[9:00] Black Player's Seat: TLo Lorefield is playing Black
[9:00] CG Linden: . homegrown
[9:00] Sculpted Chess Set V3.0.2 whispers: Black moves 1. ... d7-d5

[9:02] Cummere Mayo: ............. cg any plans to up the lsl limits from 24 to 28 chas yet? especially since theres a goring number fo sl residents with NAMES more then 24 chars?

[9:04] Cummere Mayo: ............. is acan explain more then i can but soemof the lsl call commands are limited to 24 chars... which means if you get soemone like my sl sister who has a name like minakothegothicgeisa kamachi things tend to break if you do a call on her name
[9:04] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ a "couple" idiosyncrasies? :-D
[9:04] TLo Lorefield: ................ ow my body hurts
[9:04] Isabeu Hand: ............... you would be reffering to llDialog Cummere
[9:04] CG Linden: . I actually like most of them, I think the async event model is cute, and state machines ar eneat
[9:05] Cummere Mayo: ............. thats one of them isa
[9:05] CG Linden: . well, I hope to see llDialog be reoplaced with something better...
[9:05] Lamorna Proctor: ....... the string-handling routines have boundary-condition bugs which are a rea pain
[9:05] CG Linden: . we were pretty close to doing that, but then other priorities came in
[9:05] Lamorna Proctor: ....... *real
[9:06] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ I'd like a dialog box you can enter text into.
[9:06] Bri Gufler: ........... what kind of replacement for llDialog
[9:06] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ but that's just me.
[9:06] Dartagan Shepherd: ......... a prompt, right ... that'd go a long way
[9:06] Lamorna Proctor: ....... hidden tags associated with each option would be nice too
[9:06] CG Linden: . the idea is to have urls that would trigger events in scripts, so essentially any web page rendered inworld can trigger stuff, and...
[9:07] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ "oh, and Santa Linden, for Christmas, I also want......"
[9:07] McCabe Maxsted: .............. you know what would be really cool is if you through out a list of tasks that you'd be interested in doing that would get linden support, or severside help, but an opensource coder could work on while you tackle your own priorities
[9:07] CG Linden: . once you have the capability to serve http from scripts, then you can process html forms, which gives you your text entry boxes
[9:08] Bri Gufler: ........... that would be awesome
[9:08] Dartagan Shepherd: ......... beautiful
[9:08] CG Linden: . You shiuld bring that up with Rob Linden
[9:08] CG Linden: . he's our sldev/opensource guy
[9:08] Isabeu Hand: ............... CG, would the http call buffer still be in place?
[9:08] CG Linden: . but I'll mention it
[9:08] Bri Gufler: ........... Argh. I have to excuse myself for a RL meeting. Thanks for the time CG. This has been a great learning experience as always.
[9:09] Bri Gufler: ........... Take care everyone. See you next tie :)
[9:09] Bri Gufler: ........... *time
[9:09] CG Linden: . bye
[9:09] Lamorna Proctor: ....... bye Bri, and ty again for ther shirt
[9:09] CG Linden: . http call buffer?
[9:09] CG Linden: . we're not getting rid of llHttpRequest, if that's what you're asking
[9:09] Isabeu Hand: ............... it prevents objects in a sim owned by one person from making more than 1 http call per second
[9:09] Lamorna Proctor breathes a sigh of relief
[9:10] Starfox Howl: ............ Mr. Linden, if I may ask, why is it that when I search the events database for "Office" or "Linden" nothing is returned?
[9:10] Isabeu Hand: ............... its not hard to work around, just curious if there are any plans since your taling about making html forms in world and such
[9:11] CG Linden: . Oh that, well, the restrictions are there for good reason, and if anything, we'll make the throttling even stricter
[9:11] Lamorna Proctor: ....... They must be banned words, like "casino" and "poker" :)
[9:11] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ LOL @ Lam
[9:11] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ I was just about to say that.
[9:11] CG Linden: . it should be obvious why
[9:11] Lamorna Proctor: ....... and "texas"... they banned an entire state :)
[9:11] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ really? I never tried that.
[9:12] Cummere Mayo: ............. they banned texas in the event search?
[9:12] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ oh.. if it was gone, it's back
[9:12] Lamorna Proctor will put the database to work by searching for "the"
[9:12] Isabeu Hand: ............... well, to prevent sl from being used as a platform for DDOS attacks on other sites yes
[9:12] Starfox Howl: ............ Well, I try to find the office hours for other Lindens, that are posted in a public database... it's not like Im trying to stalk them.
[9:13] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=c2g7djaua9j4he8c6d0iu7n7k8%40group.calendar.google.com Try that one
[9:13] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ oh, it was because I was stalking Zara.
[9:13] Gellan Glenelg: .. starfox: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Office_Hours
[9:13] Lamorna Proctor: ....... lol
[9:13] CG Linden: . I think it's mainly due to search just sucking... :)
[9:13] Cummere Mayo: ............. star soem of them actually like being stalked *giggles*
[9:13] CG Linden: . If I enter "CG Linden" into event search, I can find myself
[9:13] Starfox Howl: ............ I get tired of being banned due to AGEPLAY when all I really am is short.
[9:13] Cummere Mayo: ............. jsut depends on how you do it
[9:13] Aargle Zymurgy: ........ CG, that almost sounds metaphysical
[9:14] Lamorna Proctor: ....... you must have been beside yourself when you discovered that
[9:14] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... some people just dont like kids
[9:14] Starfox Howl: ............ I'm sure there's a script for you to be beside yourself in here, someplace.
[9:15] Cummere Mayo: ............. well also if you rp sex as or with soemoen that seems to be a child avi you can get naled on a variety of criminal charges depending where you live
[9:15] HALEY Salomon: ...... it's a good idea,,, to stay away from all children who are role-playing
[9:15] Gellan Glenelg: .. g2g. thanks CG, bye all
[9:15] HALEY Salomon: ...... let them go off with other children
[9:15] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... Thats what I mean
[9:16] Lamorna Proctor: ....... unless you live in Thailand, where it's mandatory
[9:16] McCabe Maxsted: .............. take care gellan :)
[9:16] Starfox Howl: ............ I dobut tht I'm going to be doing something like that in a Star Trek RP sim.
[9:16] XLR8RRICK Hudson: .... Bye Gellan
