The following is the LSL Wordfile (Syntax Highlighting) for UltraEdit 15.xx (has not been tested on other versions of UltraEdit). This file has been updated for Viewer 2. I have done my best to match the colors used in Viewer 2's LSL Editor for consistency. I also added bolded brackets as well as grey operators for viewing ease. If you find an error in this file please comment and I will do my best to keep this file updated.
To install this wordfile, complete the following steps:
1. Make sure UltraEdit is closed!! 2. Download the attached lsl.uew file here. 3. Copy the lsl.uew file that you just downloaded to C:\Users\YourLoginName\AppData\Roaming\IDMComp\UltraEdit\wordfiles\. (You will be asked to authenticate as an administrator... Allow!) 4. Open UltraEdit 5. On the menu, go to Advanced > Configuration (The configuration window will open) 6. In the Navigate box on the left, select File Types 7. In the File Name textbox on the right, type "*.lsl" (without quotes) 8. In the File Description textbox, type "LSL" (without quotes) 9. Click the Insert button 10. In the Navigate box on the left, choose Editor Display > Syntax Highlighting 11. Make sure the directory path is pointed to C:\Users\YourLoginName\AppData\Roaming\IDMComp\UltraEdit\wordfiles\ 12. Make sure Syntax Highlighting checkbox is checked. 13. Click OK 14. Exit out of the window.
Now, whenever you open/save a file as .lsl it will automatically apply the syntax highlighting. If you wish to view your script with the syntax highlighting before it is saved as a *.lsl file, simply go to View > View As (Highlighting File Types) > LSL
To configure UltraEdit to open and save all files as LSL files:
1. On the menu, go to Advanced > Configuration (The configuration window will open) 2. In the Navigate box on the left, choose Editor Display > Syntax Highlighting 3. On the right side, click the "Highlight New File As" dropdown box. 4. Choose LSL 5. Click OK
If you would like to create the file yourself, copy the following text into a text document and save it as lsl.uew then continue with step 3 above.
