  • [11:10] Which Linden: Hey sai
  • [11:10] Saijanai Kuhn: hey which
  • [11:10] Which Linden: How are ya?
  • [11:11] Which Linden: It's a bit of a slow morning
  • [11:11] Which Linden: I've been editing wiki pages like mad
  • [11:12] Which Linden: We're all excited about the new blogs
  • [11:14] Which Linden: the mmox list is insanely high-traffic
  • [11:17] Which Linden: I read it when I can but can only get through the highlights
  • [11:18] Saijanai Kuhn: well arguments about the mmox list are insanely high traffic too
  • [11:19] Which Linden: wait there are meta arguments about the mmox list in another forum too?
  • [11:19] Saijanai Kuhn: Morgaine's been pushing her vision of splitting into mmox and OGP working groups because "no-one wants to do just OGP"
  • [11:19] Saijanai Kuhn: well AWG is chatting about it off and on Morgaine's private IMs to me concern it etc
  • [11:20] Which Linden: Well I'm glad to see such spirited discussion
  • [11:21] Saijanai Kuhn: heh is that what you call it...
  • [11:21] Which Linden: yes, I see some meta-discussion emails going over the mmox list now
  • [11:22] Saijanai Kuhn: I think the economic climate is causing hassles or something. People are getting downright hostile to each other
  • [11:22] Which Linden: This is my first time viewing such a thing so I assume that everything I see is "normal"
  • [11:22] Which Linden: infinity seems to be pretty familiar with this sort of thing
  • [11:23] Saijanai Kuhn: well Zha seems to think so at least the last time we chatted. I'm a bit distirubed by the exchange between Infinity and JayR on Groupies though
  • [11:24] Which Linden: Didn't see that (I tendto leave group chats as soon as I log in because I hate how they get interspersed with regular inworld chat)
  • [11:24] Saijanai Kuhn: ah, there's an option to seperate them out
  • [11:24] Which Linden: Oh... you know, you're right
  • [11:24] Saijanai Kuhn: heh heh heh
  • [11:25] Which Linden: no, wait, that only applies to teh logging
  • [11:26] Saijanai Kuhn: communications options: include IM in local chat
  • [11:29] Which Linden: I am running an older viewer -- perhaps it is not present
  • [11:29] Saijanai Kuhn: huh. There's two groups of options under commuications preference: IM and logging
  • [11:31] Which Linden: Yeah I only got options relating to timestamps
  • [11:31] Saijanai Kuhn: I'm using the latest RC but I think these options ahve been here for some time
  • [11:31] Saijanai Kuhn: you're a luddite, WHich
  • [11:32] Which Linden: I usually use the latest RC but today there was an update and thus I had to log in using the old viewer while I downloaded the new
  • [11:32] Saijanai Kuhn: ah, OK
  • [11:32] Saijanai Kuhn: don't know when the new options appear. I tende to just use the irc period
  • [11:32] Saijanai Kuhn: the RC (irc on the brain)
  • [11:34] Which Linden: ha ha ha
  • [11:34] Which Linden: yes, group chat... so contentious
  • [11:34] Saijanai Kuhn: so at least some people think that mmox is a misleading name because its only focused (in LL's eyes) on OGP/LLSD. Of course that's what the initial charter said
  • [11:35] Which Linden: Heh, yes
  • [11:36] Saijanai Kuhn: my own take is that we have long-term and shorterm goals. AWG is focused on SL/OpenSim interop. It could be focused on more, but the busiest posters are focused on anything-but AWG/OGP solutions
  • [11:40] Which Linden: The advantage of a standard is that, regardless of how shitty a standard it is, everyone does it
  • [11:42] Saijanai Kuhn: right, but there's been proposals which are completely SL-hostile IMHO for interop. so the question becomes: who changes their architecture, SL or everyone else?
  • [11:42] Saijanai Kuhn: Although, "everyone else" may be a gorup of one at the moment
  • [11:49] Which Linden: HHa ha well this office hour moved right in to Aw Groupies chat
  • [11:49] Saijanai Kuhn: fine by me. one less window to try to keep track of ;-)
  • [11:51] Which Linden: gonna be a very weak transcript on my user page though
  • [11:53] Saijanai Kuhn: yeah... And normally we don't log groupies chat
  • [11:54] Which Linden: No... as it should be though
  • [11:54] Which Linden: People should have clear expectations of when their foolish typos will be put on display for the world to see
  • [12:14] Which Linden: Take it easy, Sai, thanks for stopping by!
