- [13:34] Carlos Roundel: hola
- [13:34] Enus Linden: hallo
- [13:35] Stamo Stuer: Hey Enus hey all
- [13:35] Enus Linden: hi stamo
- [13:36] Enus Linden: Hi everybody!!! :D :D :D
- [13:36] Pier Tempel: smiles!
- [13:36] Jack666 Carter: Hi all
- [13:36] andsim Hammerer: hi
- [13:36] Tao Takashi: Hi
- [13:37] Enus Linden: excellent hairstyle tao
- [13:37] McCabe Maxsted: waves his noob av hand
- [13:37] Tao Takashi: thanks, Enus, selfmade :)
- [13:37] Tao Takashi: you wanny buy it? ;-)
- [13:38] Enus Linden: thanks, but i prefer mine
- [13:38] Enus Linden: :D
- [13:38] Pier Tempel: a big grid-to-grid tp made that, tao I bet! ;P
- [13:38] James Benedek: *waves*
- [13:38] Tao Takashi: yes, that's what you get from too much testing OGP
- [13:38] Enus Linden: so welcome to whump's office hours
- [13:38] Tao Takashi: and working on pyogp ;-)
- [13:38] Enus Linden: i have 22 minutes to go
- [13:38] Enus Linden: so.... let's talk pyogp and the ogp beta
- [13:39] Enus Linden: awesome OGP Beta testing going on
- [13:39] Enus Linden: and i'd like to point people to pyogp to help us with it
- [13:39] andsim Hammerer: ok
- [13:39] Enus Linden: and would also like to recruit some OpenSim oriented testers to the cause as well :)
- [13:39] Enus Linden: pyogp, for those that don't know, is a young python codebase
- [13:40] Enus Linden: written to operate against an OGP enabled frid
- [13:40] Enus Linden: young is important here
- [13:40] Enus Linden: but so far login and caps handling are there
- [13:40] Enus Linden: and udp handling is almost here
- [13:40] Enus Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Pyogp
- [13:41] Enus Linden: = project page
- [13:41] Enus Linden: Tao, what's the doc url for the lib?
- [13:41] Tao Takashi: [1]
- [13:41] Tao Takashi: I think ;-)
- [13:41] Enus Linden: :)
- [13:41] Tao Takashi: I still need to link it
- [13:41] Saijanai Kuhn: don't forget to kitchen sink it too ;-)
- [13:41] Enus Linden: so we are doing this for various reasons
- [13:41] Tao Takashi: wikis are so complicated ;-)
- [13:42] Enus Linden: my motivation is to use the library codebase as a tool to test against OGP oriented sims and the LL agent domain
- [13:42] Enus Linden: while the tests are incomplete, the are available for use by myself and anyone else who wants to take them and run with it
- [13:42] Enus Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Pyogp/Client_Lib/testing
- [13:42] Enus Linden: (sorry, wiki link again)
- [13:43] Enus Linden: so currently, there are tests against auth and login, and various tests agains the caps new in OGP
- [13:43] Enus Linden: caps have better coverage so far, but they are incomplete
- [13:43] Enus Linden: but
- [13:43] Saijanai Kuhn: If you can't find a pygop page any other way, look here: [2]
- [13:43] Enus Linden: I have only been testing against LL sims
- [13:44] Enus Linden: and would love to work with folks with an interest in OpenSim to see how things so there
- [13:44] Enus Linden: there are a lot of moving parts in the OGP grid: AD, LL sims, and OpenSim sims
- [13:44] Enus Linden: not to mention the viewer
- [13:44] Enus Linden: so
- [13:44] Enus Linden: how can pyogp be best used to test things for us?
- [13:45] Enus Linden: (that is not a retorical question)
- [13:45] Enus Linden: i've started essentially 2 types of tests
- [13:45] Enus Linden: client oriented
- [13:45] Enus Linden: and caps oriented
- [13:46] Lillie Yifu: It would be nice if there were something that would auto test new sims for the beta itself
- [13:46] Enus Linden: agreed lillie
- [13:46] Lillie Yifu: try and tp to a new one that is listed and note whether or not it worked.
- [13:46] Enus Linden: so the tests are configurable wrt data
- [13:47] Enus Linden: in fact, no accounts or uris or data values are currently checked in to the repository
- [13:47] Tao Takashi: wonders if there is a hidden lindens.passwd ;-)
- [13:47] Enus Linden: so one could check out pyogp, update testconfig.cfg with your own test accounts and region_uris etc
- [13:47] Enus Linden: shh tao
- [13:47] Enus Linden: i took that out
- [13:47] Enus Linden: 3 times already
- [13:47] Tao Takashi: ah right, I wasn#t supposed to talk about that, sorry ;-)
- [13:48] Pier Tempel: glad tao backupd it!
- [13:48] Locklainn Linden: :)
- [13:48] Enus Linden: so, i suppose one way to make this accessible would be clear docs on "how to test against your OpenSim"
- [13:49] Enus Linden: a wider net wrt what tests are run would be quite useful
- [13:50] Enus Linden: is there a desire to make this accessible, or would we rather let other folks take care of testing concerns?
- [13:51] Tao Takashi: it would be cool to have some sphinx based documentation about this :)
- [13:51] Stirling Allen: I'm all for murky and opque, it's traditional.
- [13:51] Saijanai Kuhn: the higest tradition in SL
- [13:51] andsim Hammerer: i am to test ssl to oopensim
- [13:51] Enus Linden: see, stirling, i like to be able to point to a data point and say "this is broken in this way", or "the docs don't match the implementation b/c the tests say so"
- [13:52] Enus Linden: but if that's jsut me, and i am on the hook for such things, fine enough :)
- [13:53] Stirling Allen: I was being tongue in cheek. More easily usable tests with clearer points of success or failure would be a huge help. RIght now we all seem to be reinventing the same digital sand traps.
- [13:53] Saijanai Kuhn: I need to talk to ininfity about creating that GUI to the config file. I think it should be extensible on-the-fly if I do it right
- [13:53] Enus Linden: true stirling
- [13:53] Enus Linden: but is there desire within gridnauts to work on such things?
- [13:54] Stirling Allen: I am up for it.
- [13:54] Jack666 Carter: for me... yes... if I am told what to do exactly... ;)
- [13:54] Stamo Stuer: same here for me
- [13:54] Saijanai Kuhn: if we slap a GUI on the config file and have it run the tests from teh GUI, it would be a turnkey system I think
- [13:54] Locklainn Linden: well then, seems docs are #1 priority
- [13:55] Enus Linden: so i suppose more clear docs should be composed (by me)
- [13:55] Enus Linden: and then an email to gridnauts
- [13:55] jazzamine Bookmite: check my funk
- [13:55] Pier Tempel: glad to hear
- [13:55] Lillie Yifu: I can volunteer to proof and translate them into non-technical English.
- [13:56] Enus Linden: what we'd be looking for would be folks to run tests, and to contribute to test case ideas and/or implementation
- [13:56] jazzamine Bookmite: what going on?
- [13:56] Enus Linden: a funk session jazz
- [13:56] Enus Linden: :)
- [13:56] jazzamine Bookmite: cool beans
- [13:56] jazzamine Bookmite: do you like nool rock?
- [13:57] jazzamine Bookmite: no?
- [13:57] Enus Linden: well, i need to run in 2, so i will update the docs so they are less obstuse, and get in touch with gridnauts shortly
- [13:57] Enus Linden: sound ok?
- [13:57] Bartholomew Kleiber: yup
- [13:57] jazzamine Bookmite: souns great
- [13:57] andsim Hammerer: yes
- [13:57] Enus Linden: awesome
- [13:57] McCabe Maxsted: cool
- [13:57] jazzamine Bookmite: yes yes
- [13:58] Enus Linden: thans for popping in
- [13:58] Enus Linden: thanks*
- [13:58] Lillie Yifu: beijos
- [13:58] jazzamine Bookmite: you guys are the best
- [13:58] Stirling Allen: thanks
- [13:58] Locklainn Linden: thanks everyone for coming
- [13:58] Enus Linden: see y'all around the grid(s) =^.^=
- [13:58] Stamo Stuer: See ya
- [13:58] Jack666 Carter: cya
- [13:59] Pier Tempel: ty =)) cya
- [13:59] Tao Takashi: ok, cya! :)
- [13:59] Tao Takashi: meet you on #pyogp :)
- [13:59] Saijanai Kuhn: and the pyogp has a mialing list and irc btw, so you can participate as you wish
- [13:59] Locklainn Linden: bye all
