Thank you for cleaning up the mess you didn't make, it is appreciated. However the inconvenience we experienced isn't your fault, you needn't apologize for it but if there are to be apologies for things out of our control I would like to contribute: "I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced having to sort through this and clean it up."
