Lists Residents with whom you recently communicated via instant message or group chat. Filter the list by typing into the search field at the top of the sidebar.
Double-click a Resident's name in the list to start an IM conversation with them.

Each entry includes a thumbnail of the Resident's profile image if they have uploaded one. To hide these images, click  then uncheck View People Icons. Also shows how long since your last message with them.

Changes to  Voice On to indicate Residents who are speaking using voice communication.

Actions
Mouse over a Resident's entry to display these icons:

Opens a small information window where you can adjust that Resident's speaking volume, send an IM, or click to access a list of commands specific to that Resident.

Opens the selected Resident's profile. |
Right click on a Resident's entry to display the following options (some are also available as buttons at the bottom of the sidebar when you select a Resident in the list):
- View Profile: Opens the Resident's profile.
- Add Friend: Sends a friend request to the Resident.
- IM: Opens an instant messaging session with the Resident.
- Call: Initiates a private voice call to an online Resident.
- Share: Sends inventory items to the Resident.
- Pay: Opens the Pay Resident window that enables you to pay Linden Dollars to the Resident.
- Block/Unblock: Block or unblock the Resident.
- Teleport: Makes a one-time offer to teleport the Resident directly to your location.
Options
Click Gear to choose these options:
| Sort by Most Recent | Sorts the list of recent contacts by latest communication. |
| Sort by Name | Sorts the list of recent contacts alphabetically by name. |
| View People Icons | Shows or hides thumbnail images of each recent contact's profile picture. |
| Show Blocked Residents & Objects | Opens your Blocked List, showing the objects and Residents you have chosen to block. |
Click 
to open the Choose Resident window and then add the selected Resident to your friends list.
