'''No advertising, promotion or touting of for-profit ventures on the Birthday Site'''
* Any items distributed at the event must be given away freely
* Content focus should be historical
* Content in displays should be focussed the display itself.
* Technology and styles should be historically accurate- use of features not implemented outside your era are prohibited ''(this rule was relaxed with respect to megaprims in an effort to lower prim count)''
* All megaprims should be phantom
* PG sims are for PG content, Mature sims are for Mature content.
* All content has to be set to the SL Birthday Volunteers group (with the exception of the music stage being set to the SL Birthday Performers group)
* Display at SL4B is simply a case of asking one of the Officers of the group.

Community and cultural events may promote the heck out of themselves, and their businesses and for-profit ventures - on their own sites, or in collaboration with other community and cultural events.

The SL4B Site, however, will not promote or advertise any for-profit venture. If we do even one, every casino and mall in SL will want an equal billing, and we just can't do that.

SL4B ?

You probably shouldn't assume that everyone knows what you are talking about. What is SL4B? Second Lifers 4 Beer? Kelly Linden 13:56, 23 March 2007 (PDT)

Good point. I'll correct it momentarily.

Policy on Displays

  • Any items distributed at the event must be given away freely
  • Content focus should be historical
  • Content in displays should be focussed the display itself.
  • Technology and styles should be historically accurate- use of features not implemented outside your era are prohibited (this rule was relaxed with respect to megaprims in an effort to lower prim count)
  • All megaprims should be phantom
  • PG sims are for PG content, Mature sims are for Mature content.
  • All content has to be set to the SL Birthday Volunteers group (with the exception of the music stage being set to the SL Birthday Performers group)
  • Display at SL4B is simply a case of asking one of the Officers of the group.
Apologies to anyone who felt unable to participate in SL4B. Due to organisational efforts for SL4B starting later than they should have, the Wiki pages have been neglected. As head organiser, the responsibility for keeping the information up to date falls at my feet, as does the blame for the public-facing information not being kept up to date with the decisions made internally.

FAQ

Clarification on Advertising rule please. Does this mean that if I wear a T-Shirt with a corporate name on it I will be kicked out?" --Simon lameth 12:47, 5 Jun 2006 (EDT)

No. Party attendees may function within the limits of the TOS/CS. Though Welcome Area Guidelines will apply:
  1. No shooting, blood or violence.
  2. No buying, selling, begging or recruiting.
  3. No sex, nudity or offensive language.
  4. No annoying, repetitive or adult (M) sounds.
I don't see the wearing of branded materials being a problem. That's a self-expression item, and perfectly acceptable, in my opinion." --Tateru 17:33, 5 Jun 2006 (EDT)
