Mentors Teaching Mentors
Mentors Teaching Mentors is an entirely opt-in program within the Mentors group that is perfect for Mentors out there who would like to educate fellow Mentors in a classroom-like setting. The role of the Mentor Coach within this program is made up of volunteers that, aside from usual volunteering at their leisure, help other Mentors excel in skills that can increase the ability and efficiency of volunteering by offering classes.

Mentor Coaches Responsibility and Requirements:
A Mentor Coach's responsibility is to host classes for other Mentors that help develop a certain skill or help build certain characteristics which can increase the ability of the learners to volunteer on the grid. Classes are not run or maintained by Linden Lab. The role of a Mentor Coach is entirely opt-in, so the responsibilities and class development are left to the coaches to maintain. At the present time remaining in good standing with this role does not require hosting a certain number of events in a given time. It is recommended that one class be taught a month. Classes must follow the guidelines listed below.
We ask that all classes follow these guidelines
- Must be PG.
- Should be held at SL Volunteer HI when possible. If impossible, the location of the class should be on another SL Volunteer Island location and the new location clearly marked on the class listing page.
- Should be no longer than 2 hours.
- Class management (quantity of attendees/delivery of the content) is solely at the discretion of the host(s).
- Should be added to the Classes Offered By Mentors wiki page three (3) or more days prior to class date.
- Should be free and not used for any type of commercial/personal advertisement or gain.
- The Mentor holding the class is responsible for checking the Orientation class schedule page to avoid conflicts on SL Volunteer HI.
- Orientation class takes precedence in the case of a scheduling conflict.
A nice touch for the classes would be to have the materials set up on a wiki page for fellow volunteers to reference during and after the class, but this is not required.
Please Note - No attendance lists should be sent in on these optional classes
