Agenda

Updates

  • There was some confusion in the release notes this week.
    • Ban height for parcels is at 5000m for ALL REGIONS and RC's
    • Fly height was unchanged.
    • New method for updating simulator configs

  • Second Life Server Channel
  • We released a maint-server week.
  • The explicit ban height for parcels is being raised to 5000m. This means that avatars that are explicitly banned from a parcel can not enter them unless they are at least 5000m above ground. This allows high-altitude fly-overs as before, but they must be done at a much higher altitude.
  • Bug Fixes
    • SCR-6 "llGetSubString can produce results that crash Mono scripts"
    • SCR-281 "recent release to agni (12.02.06.248938 I think) breaks llDeleteSubString behaviour."
    • Removed old unused server code.
    • Fixed several server crash modes.
  • This was on on LeTigre and BlueSteel as well.

  • Coyot has findings from the rebalancing.
  • Pathfinding User Group
    • Falcon.

Upcoming Stuff

  • DRTSIM-141 to RC next week.

  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: it will sadly need to be shelved for a few weeks
  • [15:08] Rickk Turbo: compiler error?

  • [15:08] Kallista Destiny: Yeah but now it's got time-in-grade over everyone, A real salt.
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: coyot can share the details if he feels like it, but they're irrelevent
  • [15:08] Ima Mechanique: one thread has been patient, the others are all updating there facebook profiles
  • [15:08] Coyot Linden: +1 not really relevant
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: thankfully we had some more code ready to go
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: and we promoted it on Tuesday
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: this has fixes for SCR-6
  • [15:09] Flame of Jira: [#SCR-6] llGetSubString can produce results that crash Mono scripts https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-6
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: SCR-281
  • [15:09] Flame of Jira: [#SCR-281] recent release to agni (12.02.06.248938 I think) breaks llDeleteSubstring behaviour. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-281
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: and some server crash modes
  • [15:09] Rickk Turbo: ouch
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: the ban height for parcels was also raised to 5000m
  • [15:10] Coyot Linden: ...
  • [15:10] Larre Leborski: Sweet!!
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: I had originally communicated that we had not raised the ban height
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: for parcels
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: that was incorrect
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: we did not modify the avatar fly height
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: that's the difference
  • [15:10] Davido Chrome: I am wondering, it's a 3d-world. Why can't you dived an area into different parcels on the vertical axis?
  • [15:11] Davido Chrome: Devide
  • [15:11] Maestro Linden: or stack regions vertically
  • [15:11] Davido Chrome: Divide?
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: I don't know the technical details
  • [15:11] Coyot Linden: because it turns every n^2 algorithm into an N^3 one?
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: a lot of what we have is the way it is for legacy reasons
  • [15:11] Rex Cronon: u would no longer have an area. u would have a volume:0
  • [15:11] Fancy Greeter: Kelly Linden has arrived!
  • [15:11] Coyot Linden: right, Rex
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: I'm sure it's kelly's faulty
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: -y
  • [15:12] Coyot LindenCoyot Linden ducks
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: anyway
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: we have this new capability for server
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: in the past every config change more or less required a server restart
  • [15:12] Flip Idlemind: Plus your prim limit would be your normal prim limit for the parcel divided by the number of vertically stacked parcels (make sense?)
  • [15:13] Motor Loon: omfg Kelly looking gooood today
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: in the last server version we've released a way to modify server configs without requiring grid wide rolling restarts
  • [15:13] Sigma Avro: stacked parcells ? How ?
  • [15:13] SonicAnd Miles: awesome!
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: we were going to test that Wednesday with the RC channels but were not able to
  • [15:13] Flip Idlemind: Oh gosh now I've started a rumor
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: stop rumoring!
  • [15:13] Sigma Avro: like brazilian sims
  • [15:14] Moundsa Mayo: But without rumors we'd have practically NO communications!
  • [15:14] Sigma Avro: FLIP 's ban is pending
  • [15:14] Ima Mechanique: Brazillian sims? Is that a sim with all furries stripped off by wax?
  • [15:14] Moundsa Mayo: OW!
  • [15:14] Coyot LindenCoyot Linden scrubs his eyes out
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: so next week on RC we will do the regular roll
  • [15:14] Homeless: True, if we stuck to only the facts, there'd be nothing to talk about
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: then we'll try our new remote sim change thing and change the fly height for avatars
  • [15:15] Nalates Urriah: Would that mean eventually no restarts for Tuesday roll outs?
  • [15:15] Sigma Avro: llAgentList is ready for non god users ?
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: if I am understanding things correctly
  • [15:15] Oskar LindenOskar Linden looks at coyot
  • [15:15] Homeless: When the fly height gets changed there will be a grid-wide celebration!
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: Nalates we will still need rolling restarts just not for config changes
  • [15:15] Coyot Linden: Nal: no
  • [15:15] Rex Cronon: btw. with this new fly height any small push is no longer that small
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: we will test the avatar fly height changes in an RC
  • [15:15] Johan Laurasia: it'll be like the end of the Wizard of Oz
  • [15:15] Nalates Urriah: OK not for configs, but yes for updates
  • [15:15] Coyot Linden: this is only config changes
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: then see the impact on flight assists
  • [15:16] Coyot Linden: new code still needs a roll
  • [15:16] Homeless: of course flight assists won't be needed anymore
  • [15:16] Lucia Nightfire: not restarting servers over time leads to asset handling issues, dataserver return issues, telporting to/from sim issues, prim return issues, etc
  • [15:16] Davido Chrome: Does the new flight height be true for physical vehicles too?
  • [15:16] Coyot Linden: Lucia: more on that in a bit
  • [15:16] Flip Idlemind: So you can theoretically roll out new, disable code. Then enable it and, if it's a disaster, turn it off without needing a rollback
  • [15:17] Davido Chrome: Oh, never mind
  • [15:17] Maestro Linden: I don't believe physical vehicles ever had a fly height restriction
  • [15:17] Flip Idlemind: disabled
  • [15:17] Sigma AvroSigma Avro remembers the poetics of heigh limit
  • [15:17] Rex Cronon: flight assists r needed. how do u think u can reach orbit in a a few seconds:)
  • [15:17] Maestro Linden: only the restriction that objects can't move to >4096m elevation
  • [15:17] Coyot Linden: FLIP: exactly
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: so watch the comms next monday to see which RC channel gets the avatar fly height changes
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: so right now the RC's all have trunk
  • [15:17] Coyot Linden: also it uses a polling method which is much more reliable than a push deploy
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: like I said the idea was to have the RC's with avatar fly heights changed but we can't do that this week
  • [15:18] Sigma Avro: Why was this changed ?
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: what changed?
  • [15:18] Sigma Avro: heigh fligh
  • [15:18] Coyot Linden: google+
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: it hasn't been
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: not yet
  • [15:18] Flip Idlemind: Someone mentioned the maint-server I'm dying for, the one with llGetAgentList. Is that all QA'd and whatnot, or will it still be a while?
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: avatar fly height restrictions will be raised next week
  • [15:18] Sigma Avro: a pitty to my opinion
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: and the correct answer would be why not
  • [15:19] Homeless: a good riddance to my opinion
  • [15:19] Sigma Avro: because it was nice for newcommers imagoination:
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: OPINION FIGHT!!!
  • [15:19] Maestro Linden: Caleb would know about llGetAgentList, I think
  • [15:19] Davido Chrome: It's gonna be nice to be able to fly in skyboxes even if you forgot to don your flight feather.
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: all in good time
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: let me follow the agenda if you don't mind
  • [15:19] Caleb Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5488 is going out with the next rc release
  • [15:19] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-5488] llGetRegionAgents() -- returns list of agent keys in the current region https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5488
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: :-)
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: you too caleb
  • [15:19] Sigma Avro: mistery of those going further away etc
  • [15:19] Rex Cronon: due to this new fly height limit, even small pushes have very powerful effect on avatars...
  • [15:19] Flip Idlemind: So newbies (like I was at one point) won't freak out when they start falling from great heights even though they're flying
  • [15:19] Homeless: The restriction has been driving me nuts like from the 4th day I was in SL
  • [15:19] Flip Idlemind: True story
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: so that is the update on the current grid
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: Coyot has some stats on the rebalancing
  • [15:20] Flip Idlemind: Woooo! /me has a mini-party about llGetAgentList!
  • [15:20] Sigma Avro: me too
  • [15:20] Nalates Urriah: \o/ stats
  • [15:20] SonicAnd Miles: My sim is a space station at 3K meters and this update helps us very much! height subject that is.
  • [15:20] Coyot Linden: ince the rebalancing ran we have seen a drop of more than 50% in the number of regions crashing, going from an average of 270 regions crashing per day the month before the run to 114 since the first day of the run.
  • [15:20] Rickk Turbo: what does that do? list agents on simulator?
  • [15:21] Coyot Linden: s/ince/since/
  • [15:21] Rex Cronon: the good things is that ORBITS will now be possible again;)
  • [15:21] Flip Idlemind: Orbit implies the world is round
  • [15:21] Davido Chrome: Do the mainland connect to the other side at the end?
  • [15:21] Oskar Linden: so the rebalancing has been great
  • [15:22] Oskar Linden: a lot of the long uptime stability issues we were seeing are gone
  • [15:22] Oskar Linden: 50% reduction in simulator crashes is huge
  • [15:22] Flip Idlemind: I actually can't remember the last time I was in a region that crashed
  • [15:22] Nalates Urriah: Congrats
  • [15:22] Object: Hello, Avatar!
  • [15:22] Davido Chrome: I can, but people love to grief that place.
  • [15:22] arton Rotaru: vehicle sim crossings are amazinly improved as wellroved
  • [15:22] Sigma Avro: me too, never was in such region except when people wnated a crash tests
  • [15:22] Flip Idlemind: I go to places that people love to grief, still no crashes! :D
  • [15:22] arton Rotaru: let me reprhrase that^^
  • [15:23] Rickk Turbo: bear usually crashes for me
  • [15:23] Rickk Turbo: too many avs
  • [15:23] Oskar Linden: as we get more details we can share we will.
  • [15:23] Davido Chrome: Arton, they are?
  • [15:23] arton Rotaru: yes
  • [15:23] Lucia Nightfire: I go to places taht certain peopel crash daily, there are still ways to do it easily
  • [15:23] arton Rotaru: rarely crashing at all at borders now
  • [15:23] Moundsa Mayo: Even regions not involved in restarts will benefit as system resource usage overall will be lower because restarts fewer.
  • [15:23] Sigma Avro: sim crash is a mitology manipulated by Oskar, lol
  • [15:24] Davido Chrome: No need to restart a sim every day any more?
  • [15:24] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. yep. there are a frew times that I have crashed doing region crossings.
  • [15:24] Coyot Linden: Exactly, Moundsa
  • [15:24] Larre Leborski: not many.. but a few.
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: is Falcon here
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: ?
  • [15:24] Oskar LindenOskar Linden peers around
  • [15:24] Rickk Turbo: nope
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: man...
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: that guy
  • [15:25] Rickk Turbo: online but not here
  • [15:25] Motor Loon: Falcon was at the simcenter a bit ago
  • [15:25] arton Rotaru: a few weeks ago, I couldn't cross a single border without unseated
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: he tells me he wants to chat
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: then doesn't show
  • [15:25] Larre Leborski: Hmmm..
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: he wanted to talk about his PUG
  • [15:25] Rickk Turbo: huh?
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: Pathfinding User Group
  • [15:25] Rickk Turbo: oh
  • [15:26] Sigma Avro: ah ! why another group btw ?
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: he says he's on his way
  • [15:26] Ima Mechanique: and I thought he'd got a new dog for a moment then
  • [15:26] Rickk Turbo: TP invite him :)
  • [15:26] Nalates Urriah: I say ban him...
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: we do that sometimes Sigma
  • [15:26] Davido Chrome: IS Gez somewhere here?
  • [15:26] Moundsa Mayo: Focus, SMILE!
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: this group is very general
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: it helps to have groups specific to new projects
  • [15:26] Fancy Greeter: Falcon Linden has arrived!
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: like the Mesh Users Group
  • [15:26] Moundsa Mayo: MUG
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: there's the slacker
  • [15:26] Sigma Avro: ok, if you think it is ok
  • [15:26] Rex Cronon: PUG?:)
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: it's ok sigma
  • [15:26] MartinRJ Fayray: i just saw him talking with Oz on the other grid
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: they usually only last long enough to get the project shipped
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: Mr Falcon
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: tell us about your PUG
  • [15:27] Motor Loon: He's still a while away oskar
  • [15:27] Moundsa Mayo: She's cute and hardly ever barks?
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: I thought he just landed
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: there he is
  • [15:27] Coyot Linden: the easter puggy?
  • [15:28] Rex Cronon: aren't pugs a little shy:)
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: Falcon tell us about your PUG
  • [15:28] Larre Leborski: Indeed :-)
  • [15:28] Moundsa Mayo: Oooh, what would those eggs be ...
  • [15:28] Oskar LindenOskar Linden pokes Falcon
  • [15:28] Rickk Turbo: capt puggy :)
  • [15:28] Coyot Linden: THOSE AREN'T EGGS!
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: SL is hard for some people
  • [15:28] Sigma Avro: PUG is speaking with hands, lol
  • [15:28] Falcon Linden: Hey folks
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: let's give him time
  • [15:28] Falcon Linden: *hits Oskar*
  • [15:28] Rex Cronon: hey falcon
  • [15:28] NiranV Dean: Hello everyone
  • [15:28] Rex Cronon: hi
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: is he going to do this all meeting?
  • [15:28] Motor Loon: Falcon is such a greifer
  • [15:28] Coyot Linden: hey, quit pushing!
  • [15:29] Falcon Linden: I was thinking about it...
  • [15:29] SonicAnd Miles: linden greifer attack
  • [15:29] Falcon Linden: Need a better gun
  • [15:29] SonicAnd Miles: LOL
  • [15:29] Moundsa Mayo: This could get ugly quick!
  • [15:29] Falcon Linden: Anyhow, wanted to let you all know that we'll be starting a pathfinding user group next week
  • [15:29] Sigma Avro: I have one on other grid
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: how about you tell the good boys and girls here about your PUG
  • [15:29] Falcon Linden: It will last for an unspecified duration
  • [15:29] Rex Cronon: gun fight o.0
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: AGNI or ADITI?
  • [15:29] Falcon Linden: PathTest1 on Aditi, at least at first
  • [15:29] Sigma Avro: :) I like this unexpectance
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: ok
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: what time?
  • [15:29] Falcon Linden: at 4pm SLT on Thursday
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: cool
  • [15:30] Falcon Linden: geeze, oskar, always rushing me
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: so right after this
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: perfect time
  • [15:30] Falcon Linden: yep
  • [15:30] Maestro Linden: you should make it at 3pm on thursday
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: I know you're always in a hurry
  • [15:30] Falcon Linden: Maestro: considered it
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: I don't want to keep you from your code
  • [15:30] Falcon Linden: Any pathfinding questions?
  • [15:30] Falcon Linden: Or suggestions on ways to grief oskar
  • [15:30] Moundsa Mayo: Yah. WHat date is first PUG meeting?
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: Yeah, how do we get a merit badge for pathfinding?
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: Davido had a bug right?
  • [15:31] Ima Mechanique: hmm, that'll be passed my bedtime ;-(
  • [15:31] Oskar Linden: which one was that maestro?
  • [15:31] tham Core: ㋡ ☆*¨¨*:•.•:*¨* hallo hello hi holla *¨¨*:•.•:*¨*☆ ㋡
  • [15:31] Rex Cronon: hi
  • [15:31] Maestro Linden: Oh yeah, Davido IMed and and told me he didn't have time to verify the fix yet
  • [15:31] Oskar Linden: oh
  • [15:31] Oskar Linden: then never mind
  • [15:31] tham Core: ما هذا المكان
  • [15:31] tham Core: What is this place
  • [15:31] Maestro Linden: which was it.. it was about simball collisions not quite registering
  • [15:31] Larre Leborski: Indeed Falcon.. I wonder if I can "sit" on a character without having to drop a pathfinding script in while sitting?
  • [15:31] Falcon Linden: Maestro: that means it's fixed
  • [15:31] khaled99: ❤`•.¸¸.•´´¯`• DANCANDO LAMBADA ❤`•.¸¸.•´´¯`•
  • [15:31] Maestro Linden: Falcon figured out it was that scrips weren't detecting collisions that last a single frame
  • [15:31] Maestro Linden: but the whole setup for the game is pretty complicated
  • [15:32] Maestro Linden: I don't suppose anybody else has been playing simball in pathfinding regions?
  • [15:32] Davido ChromeDavido Chrome nods.
  • [15:32] Sigma Avro: I feel a lot of interaction parameters remain to tune, but this week was short, hehe
  • [15:32] Nalates Urriah: Tham, this is a meeting. You are on the testing grid. Not the main Second Life Grid.
  • [15:32] Falcon Linden: we're continuing to work on the behavioral issues with character movement
  • [15:32] Davido Chrome: I'll give it a test in the following days.
  • [15:32] Falcon Linden: twitchiness, failure to obey certain constraints
  • [15:33] Davido Chrome: Report to you after.
  • [15:33] Flip Idlemind: What is this "simball" of which you speak?
  • [15:33] Davido Chrome: IT's a team sport, kind of like Hockey, played on hoverboards.
  • [15:34] Flip Idlemind: Uh huh. And what is "pathfinding"?
  • [15:34] Maestro Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Pathfinding_in_Second_Life
  • [15:34] Motor Loon: Fliip...
  • [15:35] Sigma Avro: FLIP has been away a while it seems
  • [15:35] Flip Idlemind: Just kidding, I'm not quite that stupid. However, I am fairly stupid, and so I wanted to ask: Is a new viewer required to use pathfinding features
  • [15:35] Flip Idlemind: Or does it just..."help"?
  • [15:35] Coyot Linden: Pathfinder, pathfinder, find me a path...
  • [15:35] Falcon Linden: flip: have you read the wiki? :P
  • [15:35] Rex Cronon: trolling? haha
  • [15:35] Johan Laurasia: lol coyot
  • [15:35] Ima Mechanique: not for pathfinding itself, but to modify the nav-mesh yes
  • [15:35] MartinRJ Fayray: I think it is already shipped in the Wilderness, right?
  • [15:35] Davido Chrome: Flip, they said there were alot of physics changes and asked us to come and test things that uses a lot of physics to see how it was affected. Simball use physical vehicles and collision detection a lot, so I thought it best to make sure it didn't get broke.
  • [15:35] Falcon Linden: RTFM (that's "Free Manual") :)
  • [15:35] Oskar Linden: Read The Falcon Manual
  • [15:36] Motor Loon: haha
  • [15:36] Coyot Linden: LOL
  • [15:36] Falcon Linden: I don't have a manual
  • [15:36] Falcon Linden: I'm ineffable
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: yes you do
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: we just never showed you
  • [15:36] Sigma Avro: Where do you play it Davido ?
  • [15:36] TankMaster Finesmith: @ flip, short answer is yes
  • [15:36] arton Rotaru: well, at least the terrain behavior on path regions is back to normal
  • [15:36] Chieron Tenk: we could read from your innarts then ?
  • [15:36] TankMaster Finesmith: you need a new vewer
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: any more questions about pathfinding for falcon?
  • [15:36] Davido Chrome: For the pathfinding regions I have to set up an arena everytime as it gets returned to me.
  • [15:36] Coyot Linden: Chieron: we could always cut him in half and count the rings...
  • [15:37] Falcon Linden: All right folks, see you next week at 4 if you're interested
  • [15:37] Ima Mechanique: Falcon, we're pretty sure we could eff you if we had to ;-)
  • [15:37] Falcon Linden: Cheers
  • [15:37] Rex Cronon: tc falcon
  • [15:37] Johan Laurasia: I'll be there :)
  • [15:37] Sigma Avro: yes, there is this question on terrain behaviour interaction with character, and being oitself a character
  • [15:37] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. Didn't see my question answered about sitting on pathfinding characters yet.. Just wondering if this is going to be in future code?
  • [15:37] Rex Cronon: was the PUG thing a joke?
  • [15:38] Motor Loon: No rex, he really has a Pug
  • [15:38] Sigma Avro: so, were can we have access to terrain editning with pathfind ?
  • [15:38] Ima Mechanique: I don't think so Rex
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: PUG's are never a joke Rex
  • [15:38] Sigma Avro: excepyt for option of passed week
  • [15:38] Ima Mechanique: PUG are for life (of a feature beta) not just for christmas
  • [15:38] Maestro Linden: Hm, I guess that's not set up, Sigma. Unless you have a pathfinding parcel that you own
  • [15:39] Maestro Linden: I guess we could set up one of the pathtest regions to have an 'anybody can terraform' parcel
  • [15:39] Sigma Avro: how could I ?
  • [15:39] arton Rotaru: last time I tried the viewer, I was able to edit the terrain on aditis pathtest regions
  • [15:39] Sigma Avro: oh, ok Maestro
  • [15:39] arton Rotaru: but that was a few weeks ago already
  • [15:39] Maestro Linden: oh, maybe we did set that up
  • [15:39] arton Rotaru: haven#t tried lately
  • [15:39] Maestro Linden: or there's a major permissions issue with terrain editing..
  • [15:39] Motor Loon: mabye both °͜°
  • [15:39] arton Rotaru: I wondered a bit about the abillity^^
  • [15:40] Motor Loon: well, atleast it'll make it easy for us to "clean up" a sandbox eh
  • [15:41] Sigma Avro: When is PUG opened to e,nrolment ?
  • [15:42] Oskar Linden: it should be free to attend
  • [15:42] Oskar Linden: on ADITI after my meeting every Thursday
  • [15:42] Sigma Avro: great
  • [15:42] Motor Loon: But you'll need to know the secret handshake to get it
  • [15:42] Rex Cronon: here?
  • [15:42] Johan Laurasia: set your decoders to J-2
  • [15:42] Draconis NeurocamDraconis Neurocam ponders the buy pass functionality
  • [15:42] arton Rotaru: pathtest1 region
  • [15:42] Coyot Linden: something's come up, gotta fly
  • [15:42] Coyot Linden: cya all next week

  • [15:43] Davido Chrome: Cya!
  • [15:43] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. see ya Coyot :-)
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: Caleb
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: tell us about drtsim-141

  • [15:46] Davido Chrome: "creation of scripts gets a 'nice' error"?
  • [15:46] Motor Loon: on purpose
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: keep an eye on the forums Monday afternoon
  • [15:46] Sigma Avro: good, last one is the prefered
  • [15:46] Sigma Avro: lol
  • [15:46] Maestro LindenMaestro Linden prefers the naughty errors
  • [15:46] MartinRJ Fayray: Oskar is there a chance that there will be a Web (www, marketplace, webprofiles, moap) User Group ever?

  • [15:47] Oskar Linden: hard to say Martin
  • [15:47] Maestro Linden: I dont' think so?
  • [15:47] Sigma Avro: I would have a request : for a region that is full: let estate managers enter in it
  • [15:47] Motor Loon: its that all server side?
  • [15:47] Rex Cronon: what is the max size for response body?
  • [15:47] Oskar Linden: Maestro can you lead the conversation for a minute
  • [15:47] Oskar Linden: I need to be AFK
  • [15:47] Maestro Linden: sure
  • [15:47] Oskar Linden: thx
  • [15:47] arton Rotaru: 16KB rex
  • [15:48] Rex Cronon: thank:)
  • [15:48] Maestro Linden: so I don't think you'll need a newer viewer for that change
  • [15:48] Maestro Linden: it's just LSL
  • [15:48] Sigma Avro: some organic urgent activities ?
  • [15:48] TankMaster Finesmith: ok
  • [15:48] Maestro Linden: the only viewer change would be to add syntax highlighting to the HTTP_BODY_MAXLENGTH keyword that it's adding
  • [15:48] Maestro Linden: but that's optional of course
  • [15:48] Kelly Linden: For 680 the max you can set it to is 4k for LSO scripts and 16k for mono scripts.
  • [15:49] Motor Loon: thats alot though
  • [15:49] Maestro Linden: what's the minimum allowed, Kellly? Can I set it to 1 byte?
  • [15:50] Motor Loon: couldnt you have a response with nothing in the body even?
  • [15:50] Rex Cronon: kelly, now if we only had object attribute that could store 16k...
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: kk
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: back
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: yeah I guess so.
  • [15:50] Rex Cronon: wb
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: maybe you just want to see if you get a response at all
  • [15:50] Sigma Avro: hehe
  • [15:50] Motor Loon: did you bring coffee for us too Oskar?
  • [15:50] Homeless: Is the syntax highlighting for the new functions coming soon to the lsl editor?
  • [15:51] Maestro Linden: Yes, actually Andrew added a bunch of the missing LSL function highlights to the pathfinding viewer
  • [15:51] Ima Mechanique: Homeless, for some definitions of soon, yes
  • [15:51] Davido Chrome: Wasn't Andrew working on making Syntax Highlighting serversidish?
  • [15:51] Kelly Linden: Maestro: minimum is 1 byte
  • [15:51] Homeless: great!
  • [15:51] Ima Mechanique: but not the normal definition ;-)
  • [15:52] Ima Mechanique: real answer is I'm working on it!
  • [15:52] Motor Loon: serverside syntax HL would be sweet
  • [15:52] Maestro Linden: hm, though it's not comprehensive. For example, llGetEnv() is there, but not llSetKeyframedMotion()
  • [15:52] Sigma Avro: later was later
  • [15:52] TankMaster Finesmith: its not server side HLing, its a cap the server sends to the viewer for a list of supported functions
  • [15:52] Davido Chrome: Serversidish. XD
  • [15:53] Sigma Avro: is that not viewer side ?
  • [15:53] Ima Mechanique: Maestro, I sent Andrew an updated strings.xml which includes all current functions
  • [15:53] Sigma Avro: the highlight ?
  • [15:53] TankMaster Finesmith: the highlighting si still done on the viewer
  • [15:53] Maestro Linden: Cool, does that include all the new constants as well?
  • [15:53] Sigma Avro: yes, this allows aloso other editors
  • [15:53] Ima Mechanique: nope, no constants in strings.xml
  • [15:53] Ima Mechanique: they're in keywords.ini
  • [15:54] Maestro Linden: oh.
  • [15:54] Lucia Nightfire: any word on SVC-7760 havinga fix soon?
  • [15:54] Maestro Linden: anyway, where were we.. are we done covering the upcoming server changes?
  • [15:54] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7760] Large object instant messages can corrupt returned object location URL making it impossible to determine the object's location. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7760
  • [15:55] Ima Mechanique: I'm working on the combining of them all into a single LLSD file. When I can get VCE to cooperate ;-)
  • [15:55] Maestro Linden: Nope, sorry Lucia, I don't see any activity in 7760 yet
  • [15:55] Sigma Avro: serialize, serialize
  • [15:55] TankMaster Finesmith: cerialized
  • [15:55] TankMaster Finesmith: :D

  • [15:56] Oskar Linden: if you say so homeless
  • [15:57] Oskar Linden: no update motor
  • [15:57] Motor Loon: ok, I'll ask next week then °͜°
  • [15:58] Davido Chrome: Reminds me of something curious, why does all my scripted objects get returned at the same time when my landlords return certain griefer objects?
  • [15:58] Motor Loon: because your landlord clicks the wrong button?
  • [15:58] Sigma Avro: ah ?7
  • [15:58] Davido Chrome: Everyones scripted objects, for that matter.
  • [15:58] Sigma Avro: landlordf mistakes ?
  • [15:58] Motor Loon: I had a staffmember do just that the other day
  • [15:58] arton Rotaru: lol
  • [15:58] arton Rotaru: fired
  • [15:59] Motor Loon: stupid "return all" button
  • [15:59] SonicAnd Miles: fail... lol
  • [15:59] Motor Loon: yep

  • [16:00] Motor Loon: Not nice to shoot girls
  • [16:00] arton Rotaru: to much bling, shoot him^^
  • [16:00] Sigma Avro: orbiting does not exist in sl , we learned this today
  • [16:01] Ima Mechanique: Kelly's not a girl, she's a bling monster
  • [16:01] Sigma Avro: caleb escaped already
  • [16:01] Rex Cronon: the thing is. this sim/region has the new flight limit
