- [14:02] Merov Linden: that BBQ is hot...
- [14:02] Gordon Wendt: hi Soft, loving the grill
- [14:03] Soft Linden: ha!
- [14:03] Fridge whispers: No response! Please try again.
- [14:03] BQ Flipper: V.2 whispers: Thank You Gordon Wendt!
- Here is your BQ Flipper V.2.
- [14:03] Philip Linden: or, moshi moshi for .jp
- [14:03] Soft Linden: Yus. That was from Monday. Hint for anyone showing up at the triage. :3
- [14:03] Rob Linden: argh...perhaps ironically....I got hit with the openjpeg crasher
- [14:03] Fred Rookstown: Hey, Red.
- [14:03] Philip Linden: hmm... with latest bld rob?
- [14:04] reddot99 Republic: hey,
- [14:04] Rob Linden: yup....I think we still have a problem on the mac
- [14:04] Philip Linden: shouldn't it not be calling openjpg at all?
- [14:04] Gordon Wendt: Rob, grats to all of you guys on the latest snowglobe btw, it's a lot more stable than the previous
- [14:04] Merov Linden: the mac build at least doesn't have the libllkdl.dylib in the right place
- [14:04] Gordon Wendt: I haven't crashed yet on it compared to the previous ones with that massive crash bug
- [14:05] Merov Linden: note Rob that you can grab one and drop it in the package and it works fine
- [14:05] Twisted Laws: no crashes for me either :)
- [14:05] Philip Linden: Well really lots of congrats are for the 1.23 team, cuz we've got so much code from them.
- [14:05] Rob Linden: windows and linux users...can you check in Help/About and see what j2c decoder it's reporting for you?
- [14:05] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: hey philip! good to see you again!
- [14:05] reddot99 Republic: yay, someone i can ask about how to build on the mac,
- [14:05] Gordon Wendt: I saw something on the JIRA about a BSOD bug but I'm not sure if that's widespread and confirmed
- [14:05] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: last time i seen you was on the party for the languists
- [14:05] Rob Linden: indeed what Philip said about 1.23
- [14:05] Fred Rookstown: Ubuntu Jaunty here
- [14:05] Twisted Laws: J2C Decoder Version: KDU
- [14:05] Fred Rookstown: J2C Decoder Version: OpenJPEG: 1.2.0, Runtime: 1.2.0
- [14:05] Philip Linden: KDU
- [14:05] Thickbrick Sleaford: KDE here
- [14:05] Squirrel Wood: J2C Decoder Version: KDU
- [14:06] Thickbrick Sleaford: *KDU
- [14:06] Squirrel Wood: on xp sp3
- [14:06] Rob Linden: Fred: are you using the 2329 build of Snowglobe?
- [14:06] Gordon Wendt: I've found the best way to build the viewer is to bug a Linden to build the viewer, that is if you're not going to modify the code immediately yourself
- [14:06] Fred Rookstown: Not snowglobe; Stable SVN
- [14:06] Fred Rookstown: 1.22.11
- [14:06] Rob Linden: ah...ok
- [14:07] Philip Linden: so how many people here are NOT running snowglobe?
- [14:07] Latif Khalifa: snowglobe, built from svn a couple of hours ago on windows reports kdu
- [14:07] Gordon Wendt: not trying to discourge people though, I just despie the build process with an amazing depth of hatred
- [14:07] Gordon Wendt: not at the moment but I'll switch
- [14:07] reddot99 Republic: me
- [14:07] Rob Linden: well...shall we do a little testing?
- [14:07] Philip Linden: Yes!!
- [14:07] Twisted Laws: this is the 1st meeting i could run it :)
- [14:08] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: im not so far i know
- [14:08] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: 1.23.3 (121709) May 26 2009 21:57:56 (Second Life Public Nightly)
- [14:08] Philip Linden: Well this is actually the very first build with "snowglobe" in the corner, right rob?
- [14:08] reddot99 Republic: i came to figure out whats wrong with cmake, i think it doesnt like me at all,
- [14:08] Fred Rookstown: reddot
- [14:08] Fred Rookstown: Which version of cmake?
- [14:08] Rob Linden: Philip: yup
- [14:09] Merov Linden: Rob: should we start with some test list or go through recently closed bugs and try to regress them?
- [14:09] Fred Rookstown: CMake 2.6.0 is buggy, use the latest from their website
- [14:09] Rob Linden: here's the test plan: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Snowglobe_Test_Plans/Test_Pass_1
- [14:09] Thickbrick Sleaford: which version is the latest snowglobe binary again?
- [14:09] Merov Linden: s/closed/resolved/
- [14:09] Philip Linden: thx rob.
- [14:09] Rob Linden: ...and here's the corresponding JIRA task: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13640
- [14:09] Rob Linden: so....here's how we should work this, I think:
- [14:09] reddot99 Republic: CMake 2.6-4
- [14:10] Fred Rookstown: Odd
- [14:10] Rob Linden: those of you who don't yet have snowglobe build 2329 should probably get running on that version
- [14:10] Rob Linden: (could someone post link?)
- [14:10] Fred Rookstown: I use 2.6.3 and it builds fine aside from a few warnings in the patches I applied
- [14:10] Rob Linden: those that are ready....I'm going to start calling for volunteers
- [14:10] reddot99 Republic: well, i dont know where to put the fmod libraries for one,
- [14:10] Philip Linden: ready
- [14:10] Thickbrick Sleaford: oops, I just finished downloading 2324...
- [14:11] Melinda Latynina: oh, i thougth 2324 was the latest
- [14:11] Twisted Laws: i'm on 2324... brb
- [14:11] Rob Linden: 2324 is good enough....
- [14:11] Twisted Laws: oh, ok
- [14:11] Philip Linden: btw... while folks are relogging.
- [14:11] Rob Linden: changes are pretty minor between 2324 and 2329
- [14:11] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: im working for translations anyways, so why not add a little extra testing?
- [14:11] Philip Linden: Please tell as many other people to try snowglobe as you can.
- [14:11] Merov Linden: getting the build links
- [14:11] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: ill sign up
- [14:11] Merov Linden: Linux: [1]
- [14:12] Philip Linden: we need more usage to better evaluate crash levels.
- [14:12] Philip Linden: plus, this is a good version now. :)
- [14:12] Merov Linden: Mac: [2]
- [14:12] Rob Linden: thanks Merov!
- [14:12] Merov Linden: Windows: [3]
- [14:12] reddot99 Republic: heh, i've managed to crash anything,
- [14:12] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: thanks Merov!
- [14:12] Melinda Latynina: BTW, i just now crashed while exercising the map if anyone wants to check it.
- [14:13] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: its downloading for me
- [14:13] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: ah, that was my next question :p
- [14:13] Rob Linden: starting off: here's the viewer smoke test plan: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13747
- [14:13] Merov Linden: Melinda: aaagh...
- [14:13] Latif Khalifa: yeah i get crashed in the map floater as well
- [14:13] Philip Linden: OK so let's see how much we can test today! This is a great thing to find out - how quickly we can exercise these test plans.
- [14:13] Rob Linden: any volunteers to start on the viewer smoke test?
- [14:13] Philip Linden: Me!
- [14:13] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: im on the latest nightly, but that doesnt autoupdate propperly
- [14:13] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: same for RC
- [14:13] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: i had to do both manually
- [14:13] Philip Linden: let's get a couple people on each test.
- [14:13] Merov Linden: raises hand on smoke test
- [14:14] robertltux McCallen: sure once i get the newest buildinstalled
- [14:14] Merov Linden: I'm on Mac Philip and you?
- [14:14] Melinda Latynina: i'll help test as soon as I install/relog
- [14:14] Philip Linden: Merov, how about you do another one, so we don't have multiple lindens on them?
- [14:14] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: smoke test
- [14:14] Philip Linden: I'm on Windows.
- [14:14] Fred Rookstown: Attempting a compile of snowglobe on Debian atm.
- [14:14] Merov Linden: k :)
- [14:14] Philip Linden: So Rob, where do we put our results?
- [14:14] Twisted Laws: i tested the login things, ok including grid
- [14:14] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: for Dutch languists that is, even if its aiding help to one of the team im in
- [14:14] Rob Linden: Philip: in JIRA, in the appropriate subtask
- [14:15] Merov Linden: I can go through the "Newbie Tests"
- [14:15] Rob Linden: if you find a bug, file it separately
- [14:15] Merov Linden: I don't even know what it covers :)
- [14:15] Philip Linden: edited wiki to add myself as volunteer.
- [14:15] Philip Linden: Starting tests.
- [14:15] Merov Linden: wonders if people are dropping due to crashers...
- [14:16] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: i sended Lisa a TP
- [14:16] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: you is workign on a smoke test aswell
- [14:16] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: i think she can add a few things to the convo
- [14:16] Rob Linden: k....Philip and Youri....feel free to coordinate here or in private chat
- [14:16] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: sorry about that Rob
- [14:17] Rob Linden: who wants to do the UI tests: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13748
- [14:17] Philip Linden: youri call me when we get to the two person stuff.
- [14:17] Rob Linden: Youri, no problem
- [14:17] Rob Linden: you may just want to start at opposite ends of the test plan, and meet int he middle
- [14:17] Rob Linden: so, UI tests....anyone?
- [14:18] Merov Linden: reads the test plan and starts testing
- [14:18] Melinda Latynina: yep. where shall i start, rob?
- [14:18] Twisted Laws: i smoke tested this in two griefings in sandbox goguen btw, worked as expected.
- [14:18] Rob Linden: Merov and Melinda on UI stuff
- [14:18] Rob Linden: Merov start at top, Melinda start at the bottom?
- [14:19] Merov Linden: I was on Newbie tet
- [14:19] Rob Linden: doesn't remember if that's a divide and conquer size test plan
- [14:19] Merov Linden: s/tet/test/
- [14:19] Gordon Wendt: that didn't work well, the latest build kept freezing up on login
- [14:19] Twisted Laws: i'll do ui tests
- [14:19] Merov Linden: but that requires to create a new user and work from an installer...
- [14:19] Gordon Wendt: did I miss anything?
- [14:19] Rob Linden: cool Melinda and Twisted then
- [14:19] Melinda Latynina: rob: ok, UI smoke tests i assume
- [14:19] Twisted Laws: on vista
- [14:20] Rob Linden: Melinda, yup - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13748
- [14:20] Thomas Shikami: I could theoretically test on everything except Mac PowerPC
- [14:20] reddot99 Republic: i can get my g4 out
- [14:20] Merov Linden: Rob: is it ok if I start from my account? (and skip the beginning)
- [14:20] Rob Linden: Gordon: I'm just going down the list and calling for volunteers
- [14:20] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: rob, that smoke test, is that any viewer or the link Merov gave?
- [14:20] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: hey Lisa
- [14:20] Rob Linden: Merov: yeah, that's probably fine
- [14:20] Merov Linden: the links I gave Youri
- [14:20] Melinda Latynina: heh, my first test will cost me $L 100, but no problem
- [14:20] Lisa Lowe: Hiya :)
- [14:21] reddot99 Republic: if its built , cause i dont know how to buildstill,
- [14:21] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: okay, then ill go install those after the meeting and send you the results
- [14:21] Rob Linden: Youri: you're working on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13747 I believe, which is https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Preview_Smoke_Test
- [14:21] Rob Linden: Melinda (and others)...
- [14:22] Rob Linden: let the Lindens do the tests that require L$
- [14:22] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: okay, thats no problem Rob. who needs the results?
- [14:22] reddot99 Republic: may i bring something up, related to the mac rc veiwer
- [14:22] Rob Linden: Youri: post the results in the appropriate JIRA task (in your case VWR-13747)
- [14:23] Rob Linden: reddot99: shoot
- [14:23] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: okay, i will
- [14:23] reddot99 Republic: abuse reports cause all windows to go invisible
- [14:23] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: ill assign myself to the case
- [14:23] reddot99 Republic: or the background of them anyhow
- [14:23] Rob Linden: reddot99: that's worth reporting as a bug
- [14:23] Skills Hak: brb
- [14:23] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: do you require pictures of it aswell?
- [14:23] Rob Linden: new functionality testing: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13749
- [14:23] Fred Rookstown: Compiling in progress on Debian, using sid tools.
- [14:24] Rob Linden: any volunteers for new func testing?
- [14:24] Rob Linden: that's going to require a bit more improv
- [14:24] Thickbrick Sleaford: S3 is extra slow today
- [14:25] Rob Linden: new func testing is going to involve finding the posted test plans associated with each new patch
- [14:25] Skills Hak: Mmmmmm, HTTP!
- [14:25] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8008?focusedCommentId=109986&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#action_109986

- [14:27] Rob Linden: Melinda: post them to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13748
- [14:27] Rob Linden: (that's a subtask of VWR-13640)
- [14:27] Rob Linden: just post a comment when you get done with a section
- [14:28] Melinda Latynina: will do
- [14:28] Rob Linden: don't worry about being too spammy in the comments...these are going to be pretty spammy bugs
- [14:28] robertltux McCallen: got any good impaired network tasks
- [14:28] robertltux McCallen: i seem to have one atm
- [14:29] robertltux McCallen: Clearwire + heavey rain not good combo
- [14:29] Rob Linden: robertltux: it'd be good if you work on new func...in particular, play with the map
- [14:29] Multi Gadget: v1.57.1 by Timeless Prototype
- [14:29] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: Merov, could you send the windows link in again please? Lisa likes to have it aswell
- [14:30] Gordon Wendt: woot, can get in on the latest build
- [14:30] Thickbrick Sleaford: yay, finally downloaded 2329 , BRB
- [14:31] Rob Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Template:Ossbuild-installers
- [14:31] reddot99 Republic: ok, its already here,
- [14:31] Twisted Laws: i'm on 2324 now but was on newer befor and newest one has a toggle for viewcam that is the same as toggle for friends list

- [14:31] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: thanks Rob
- [14:32] Gordon Wendt: anything else need to be tested?
- [14:32] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13751
- [14:32] Merov Linden: Rob: I'm going from the top
- [14:32] Rob Linden: Gordon: build tools
- [14:32] Rob Linden: here's build tools subtask: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13751
- [14:32] Rob Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Building_Tools_Test
- [14:32] Merov Linden: In the "Log on to the new account" section right now
- [14:33] Rob Linden: last one on the list: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13752 Snowglobe Test Sprint #1: Preferences and General UI Elements
- [14:33] Rob Linden: Gordon: you want to work on Build tools?
- [14:33] Gordon Wendt: that's what I'm starting on right now
- [14:33] Gordon Wendt: sorry should have told you that
- [14:33] Rob Linden: excellent!
- [14:34] Rob Linden: any volunteers for the Prefs and UI?
- [14:34] Skills Hak: ill try that in my high texture load sim
- [14:34] Skills Hak: see you guys
- [14:35] Rob Linden: k....see ya
- [14:35] Rob Linden: anyone still waiting on stuff to work on?
- [14:35] Thickbrick Sleaford: I'm up for a few tests, finally got the latest snowglobe. where should I start?
- [14:35] Rob Lindenri: Ashton: I can not assign myself to the project, so ill leave that to you Rob. ill go install the new viewer and start the tests
- [14:36] Rob Linden: Thickbrick: maybe help Merov out with the new user stuff
- [14:36] Thickbrick Sleaford: ok
- [14:36] Gordon Wendt: can't say I particularlly like the drag tool but that may just be me
- [14:36] Gordon Wendt: the move tool rather'
- [14:36] Hippo Award: placard: 2009-05-28,Hippo Award placard,Hippotropolis,2
- [14:37] Merov Linden: needs to logout and relog
- [14:37] Merov Linden: back in a sec guys...
- [14:37] Gordon Wendt: seems incredibly laggy and even when you do a firm grab doesn't always grab the object it seems
- [14:37] Fred Rookstown: hb
- [14:37] Twisted Laws: testing what i can right here
- [14:37] Gordon Wendt: first for me moving move though so again that may just be me
- [14:37] Fred Rookstown: 47% done on the compile, just some llMedia depreciation warnings that I'll pull out of the log later
- [14:38] Gordon Wendt: Rob, how many steps back is Ctrl Z supposed to go to?
- [14:38] Squirrel Wood: ha. my terraformer may be a good tool to test click accuracy or even bandwidth restriction related stuff (like, frame rate goes down when 4k prims move :p)
- [14:38] Rob Linden: hm....I don't know how deep that's supposed to be
- [14:38] Moy Loon: undo is server side
- [14:38] Gordon Wendt: I didn't even know it existed
- [14:38] Gordon Wendt: kinda cool though
- [14:39] Thomas Shikami: undo is primitive based as well. Each prim has it's own undo history
- [14:39] Soft Linden: really handy for accidental moves. Just wish it applied to grabs done outside of edit mode :3
- [14:39] Thomas Shikami: even handy for intended moves
- [14:39] Thickbrick Sleaford: is starting [4]
- [14:39] Thomas Shikami: like moving a prim out of the way, then moving it back by undoing
- [14:40] Thomas Shikami: Torley made an awesome video about undo
- [14:40] Lisa Lowe: Ctrl Z is also handy doing a copy-rotate action :)
- [14:41] Rob Linden: anyone else still waiting on what to do next?
- [14:41] Thickbrick Sleaford: Merov, how far did you get with the New User test?
- [14:41] Soft Linden: sends Torley love for the video mention
- [14:41] robertltux McCallen: waiting to get the latest version link isn't locking in for me
- [14:41] reddot99 Republic: i'm waiting on somebody not snowglobe testing to help try to build a veiwer,
- [14:42] Merov Linden: I'm still in "Log on to the new account" Thickbrick
- [14:42] Fred Rookstown: What viewer?
- [14:42] Fred Rookstown: What OS?
- [14:42] Merov Linden: wanna take another section?
- [14:42] robertltux McCallen: if that was me the windows 2329 version
- [14:42] Thickbrick Sleaford: there's another test without a tester?
- [14:43] reddot99 Republic: you've been complaining about me talking about the mac long enough that it should be fairly clear thats all i have :p
- [14:43] Rob Linden: come to think of it, I don't recall if anyone volunteered for new func testing
- [14:43] robertltux McCallen: me if i can get 2329 downloaded
- [14:43] Rob Linden: new functionality testing: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13749
- [14:43] Fred Rookstown: I might do so once I complete compiling.
- [14:44] Rob Linden: 'actually, that one is a little daunting right now....any volunteers specifically for the test on VWR-8008?
- [14:45] Rob Linden: anyone....anyone....
- [14:45] Rob Linden: here's the test: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8008?focusedCommentId=109986&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#action_109986
- [14:46] Thomas Shikami: I have to add that to the test
- [14:46] Twisted Laws: i'll test it when i finish the ui smoke test
- [14:46] Gordon Wendt: damn Rob beat me to linking to that
- [14:46] Thomas Shikami: give your helper a texture you created yourself, then let them give you the texture you created yourself. Check if the "Keep" and "Discard" buttons are displayed
- [14:47] Thickbrick Sleaford: hmm, I think the new user test isn't up to the current secondlife.com - it won't let me skip choosing an avatar
- [14:47] Merov Linden: man... there are mistakes in the test descriptions... ooops...
- [14:47] reddot99 Republic: lol,
- [14:47] Gordon Wendt: undo is not supposed to effect link status right?
- [14:47] reddot99 Republic: undo is regardless of link status
- [14:48] Gordon Wendt: ok good, because I was delinking and relinking and everything else seems to work fine
- [14:48] reddot99 Republic: wont link or unlink though
- [14:48] Thomas Shikami: Use a regapi to create an account
- [14:48] Thomas Shikami: regapi doesn't create an avatar
- [14:48] Rob Linden: starts new func testing
- [14:48] Thickbrick Sleaford: how do you do that?
- [14:48] Thickbrick Sleaford: (regapi)
- [14:48] Thomas Shikami: uhm...
- [14:49] Fred Rookstown: Go to one of the alternative SL reg sites.
- [14:49] Thickbrick Sleaford: oh
- [14:49] Thomas Shikami: there are some RegApi sites, though they send you to alternative start locations as well
- [14:49] Rob Linden: eh....let's skip the regapi stuff
- [14:49] Thomas Shikami: that might cause problems with some tests maybe
- [14:49] Thomas Shikami: and it creates a permanent account as well, so not good to test like that
- [14:50] Thickbrick Sleaford: yeah, I'll note the choosing av part inthe results
- [14:50] Thomas Shikami: better for a Linden to create a Tester account for that
- [14:51] reddot99 Republic: going to just ask, anybody other than me on a mac?
- [14:51] Rob Linden: I'm on a mac
- [14:51] reddot99 Republic: ok. when compiling, where's the fmod libraries go?
- [14:51] Thomas Shikami: I can give you openal libraries for mac
- [14:51] Thickbrick Sleaford: prefferably into the trash
- [14:52] Rob Linden: hrm...don't remember exactly where. instructions should give the right place. also....
- [14:52] Staff of: Magery: Touched.
- [14:52] Moy Loon: Heh
- [14:52] reddot99 Republic: i didnt see instructions
- [14:52] Thomas Shikami: lemme check
- [14:53] Skills Hak: textures going a bit crazy at my place
- [14:53] Thomas Shikami: <key>darwin</key>
- <map>
- <key>md5sum</key>
- <string>f30b851e089108978c8218295a405159</string>
- <key>url</key>
- <uri>http://thomas.shikami.mooo.com/install_pkgs/openal-darwin-20090418.tar.bz2</uri>
- </map>
- [14:53] Thomas Shikami: that's what I put into install.xml to use openal in mac
- [14:53] Rob Linden: [5]
- [14:53] Rob Linden: [6]
- [14:54] Thickbrick Sleaford: BRB
- [14:54] reddot99 Republic: nother bug, ) gets left out of urls
- [14:54] Fred Rookstown: Seconded on the parenthesis bug
- [14:54] Fred Rookstown: (if it's a bug, that is)
- [14:54] Gordon Wendt: ok that's strange, it doesn't seem to do a link range check when I do edit linked parts to move one object in the linkset far away
- [14:54] Soft Linden: yeah, it is.
- [14:55] Rob Linden: hmmm...yeah, would seem to be a bug
- [14:55] Soft Linden: There's a bug on that to use the proper http spec list of characters
- [14:55] Moy Loon: It annoys me aswell =p, I think it was for things like [(http://google.com)] but, the first ( is caught in it so it's kinda useless, I think
- [14:55] Rob Linden: probably not snowglobe specific, but a bug no less
- [14:55] Moy Loon: Oh, it isn't grabbing the ( anymore
- [14:55] Thomas Shikami: leaving out ) seems to be intentional
- [14:55] reddot99 Republic: yeah, but its your wiki
- [14:55] Gordon Wendt: Rob, Soft, is this a bug that it's not doing a range check when moving an object in a linkset out of range of the rest of the linkset>?
- [14:55] Thomas Shikami: let's say firefox is broken to not use %28 and %29 for ( and )
- [14:56] Soft Linden: I think someone just rushed to get the url highlighting in without stopping to find a proper spec - up until '07 or so, much of the code was really slapdash. Speed of implementation as the primary
- [14:56] Gordon Wendt: I shouldn't be able to move a single object 40m away from the rest of the linkset and still have it linked
- [14:56] Gordon Wendt: if I delink it probably wouldn't let me relink
- [14:56] Soft Linden: ah yeah, it should limit the distance
- [14:56] Gordon Wendt: though I'll try that
- [14:56] Philip Linden: how is testing going folks?
- [14:56] Soft Linden: checks it in 1.23
- [14:56] Thomas Shikami: the server should make it just snap back
- [14:56] Soft Linden: what is the link distance, anyway? 32m?
- [14:56] Gordon Wendt: it just snapped back
- [14:56] Moy Loon: lol
- [14:57] reddot99 Republic: varible, up to 64 max
- [14:57] Soft Linden: ah, okay
- [14:57] Gordon Wendt: odd, it didn't snap back until I tried to delink
- [14:57] robertltux McCallen: can't seem to get the new version and the last one i have is old
- [14:57] Merov Linden: gee... how do you get *out* of a pose?
- [14:57] Thomas Shikami: it's very hard for the viewer to test link constraints
- [14:57] Thomas Shikami: so I doubt it is implemented
- [14:57] Gordon Wendt: Soft, it's only doing a check when I try to manipulate the rest of the link set otherwise it's fine with wherever I put it, kinda cool though although I'm guessing people would take advantage of it
- [14:57] Philip Linden: Rob: I've gotten through 50% of basic smoke test.
- [14:57] Philip Linden: 1 bug with fullscreen
- [14:58] Rob Linden: Philip: cool....where did you stop?
- [14:58] Philip Linden: Stopped at voice chat.
- [14:58] Soft Linden: Gordon - walk me through what you're doing? I'll comare to 1.23
- [14:58] Rob Linden: before or after?
- [14:58] Philip Linden: So it's about a 1.5 hr test i think.
- [14:58] Soft Linden: Create a couple prims, link, edit linked parts, then - ?
- [14:59] Philip Linden: I'll update the wiki with progress.
- [14:59] Rob Linden: excellent!
- [14:59] Rob Linden: how about the rest of you
- [14:59] Philip Linden: Please lets reach out and get more people using snowglobe.
- [14:59] Philip Linden: See you guys.
- [14:59] Rob Linden: we seem to have lost Youri
- [14:59] Fred Rookstown: Still compiling. My distcc network got messed up a while ago.
- [14:59] Rob Linden: Melinda: thanks for the status report on your JIRA task
- [15:00] robertltux McCallen: anybody playing with the mesh export patch??
- [15:00] reddot99 Republic: but yeah, i dont know how to do the combining libraries part of the fmod
- [15:00] Fred Rookstown: ./configure && make ?
- [15:00] Rob Linden: thanks Gordon as well
- [15:00] reddot99 Republic: in what?
- [15:00] Fred Rookstown: the fmod directory
- [15:00] Gordon Wendt: one sec
- [15:01] reddot99 Republic: no i mean what program,
- [15:01] Fred Rookstown: I'm not sure, I have fmod binaries
- [15:01] Gordon Wendt: sorry about that, filling out wiki issue
- [15:01] Gordon Wendt: err jira issue
- [15:01] Fred Rookstown: reddot
- [15:01] Fred Rookstown: Mac does have a terminal, correct?
- [15:01] Rob Linden: whoops....lost Merov
- [15:01] Gordon Wendt: create cubes, link them, then with edit linked parts selected move one cube out as far as you can, it seems to sometimes snap back if you do larger moves but do a series of small movies
- [15:01] reddot99 Republic: yeah, but it screws up at some step,
- [15:02] Fred Rookstown: Paste the log at pastebin.ca @ reddot
- [15:02] Gordon Wendt: afterwards attempt to edit the linkset as a whole and it should snap back
- [15:02] Fred Rookstown: ALso, reddot: FMod is optional, it'll mess up some tests though, I think.
- [15:02] Rob Linden: so....we're past the end of our hour
- [15:03] Rob Linden: did everyone feel this went well?
- [15:03] Rob Linden: something we want to do again?
- [15:03] reddot99 Republic: it wont give let me have a xcode file without it
- [15:03] Fred Rookstown: Absolutely.
- [15:03] Squirrel Wood: Absolutely if it gives you valuable feedback :)
- [15:03] Gordon Wendt: Yes, and we still have work to do
- [15:03] Fred Rookstown: reddot: did you comment out the libfmod lines in CMakeLists.txt?
- [15:03] Rob Linden: yup....I definitely don't want to stop anyone who wants to keep going
- [15:04] Melinda Latynina: UI smoke test is unclear in many places and is obviously missing pictures and sections
- [15:04] reddot99 Republic: how now?
- [15:04] Merov Linden: Definitely useful to go through tests and scenarios I never thought of testing before :)
- [15:04] Merov Linden: anyone logged bug?
- [15:04] reddot99 Republic: and which?
- [15:04] Merov Linden: guesses he can find by himself
- [15:04] Fred Rookstown: indra/CMakeLists.txt @ reddot
- [15:05] Rob Linden: btw folks: how Melinda did VWR-13748 is exactly the right way to go about it, imho: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13748
- [15:05] Fred Rookstown: Dunno which line, but comment out the lines referring to libfmod
- [15:05] Soft Linden: Add a little *bold* to just the result parts and I'm in love with Melinda's approach
- [15:05] reddot99 Republic: fmod is not found in a text search of said file
- [15:05] Fred Rookstown: ... and I'm out of popcorn :(
- [15:06] Thomas Shikami: viewer_manifest.py
- [15:06] Thomas Shikami: that's the file that compiles the .app
- [15:06] Thomas Shikami: I think
- [15:06] Fred Rookstown: THomas: he hasn't gotten to the manifest yet
- [15:06] Gordon Wendt: I just edited the issue itself and am doing a step by step with a note for each line although her breakdown is much neater
- [15:06] Fred Rookstown: He doesn't even have xcode files yet
- [15:06] reddot99 Republic: i'm back at cmake step
- [15:06] Gordon Wendt: Soft, any luck reproing my instructions?
- [15:06] Thomas Shikami: o.o
- [15:06] Thomas Shikami: cmake should just work without fmod libraries
- [15:07] reddot99 Republic: it says error about the libraries missing
- [15:07] Thomas Shikami: o.o
- [15:07] Fred Rookstown: It does on Linux, not on mac, apparently.
- [15:07] Soft Linden: Gordon - I can only get it to appear out of sync, but as soon as I deselect the set, it snaps back too
- [15:07] reddot99 Republic: and nothing comes ot,
- [15:07] Thomas Shikami: is that some easybuild?
- [15:07] reddot99 Republic: out
- [15:07] Squirrel Wood: terrain editing can be tested on Torleys island (Here)
- [15:07] Soft Linden: Looks to me like the viewer is out of sync, but also it's not just a Snowglobe issue
- [15:07] Thomas Shikami: I remember compiling on a mac and I didn't need any fmod
- [15:07] Squirrel Wood: he has a parcel set to terraform
- [15:07] Gordon Wendt: ok, I'll note that on the issue
- [15:07] Rob Linden: I'll do some jira wrangling and other wrangling around this. this was a good first round. I think we've got a lot of work to do to get to a complete pass
- [15:08] reddot99 Republic: no, its this slviewer-darwin-libs-viewer-1.23.0-r118378.tar.gz
- [15:08] Thomas Shikami: I could investigate it, but it isn't priorities
- [15:08] Fred Rookstown: OH
- [15:08] Fred Rookstown: Open doc/asset_urls.txt
- [15:08] Gordon Wendt: VWR-8008 still need more people? I don't see myself finishing the sit and attach portions of mine today
- [15:08] Fred Rookstown: Download the darwin lib from the URL
- [15:09] Rob Linden: I'll finish off VWR-8008
- [15:09] Gordon Wendt: k
- [15:09] reddot99 Republic: not there
- [15:09] Fred Rookstown: Uh, yes it is, I can copy/paste the url
- [15:09] Rob Linden: ok....I'm going to take off now. Thanks everyone for coming!
- [15:09] reddot99 Republic: no asset_urls file
- [15:10] Thomas Shikami: you could also cmd click the URL from the terminal to open it, I guess
- [15:10] Gordon Wendt: Rob, on the building tools still need 1.8,1.9, and 1.10 to do
- [15:10] Fred Rookstown: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8008?focusedCommentId=109986&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#action_109986
- [15:10] Fred Rookstown: err
- [15:10] Rob Linden: I'll still be in IRC on irc.efnet.org #opensl
- [15:10] Rob Linden: (llrobla<-me)
- [15:10] Fred Rookstown: [SLASSET_LIBS_DARWIN=http://automated-builds-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/oss-viewer/slviewer-darwin-libs-oss-viewer-1.23.2.121778.tar.gz]
- [15:10] Rob Linden: Gordon: thanks for the update. Can you update JIRA with that (if you haven't already)?
- [15:11] reddot99 Republic: so what do i do what that then?
- [15:11] Fred Rookstown: Download and extract.
- [15:11] Gordon Wendt: I've updated the issue with my progress as I went, other than that one out of sync issue nothing important really, all seems consistent with the previous versions
- [15:11] Rob Linden: great!
- [15:11] Rob Linden: okee doke. bye everyone!
- [15:11] Fred Rookstown: THanks, Rob.
- [15:11] Moy Loon: Take care =p
