- [15:07] Oskar Linden: nice!
- [15:07] Motor Loon: yeah
- [15:07] Motor Loon: I was whining about it a lot though while cleaning
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: how are things looking now Steven?
- [15:07] Rickk Turbo: Im still homeless so no worries for me :)
- [15:07] Flip Idlemind: What services and how were they "paused"?
- [15:07] Flip Idlemind: (For the curious)
- [15:07] Kallista Destiny: And Verizion and Time-Warner got yelled at
- [15:07] Steven Linden: Still pulling the last few pieces together, oskar
- [15:08] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. and what cirt was this datacenter in?
- [15:08] Motor Loon: oh I dont think I know Steven... what do you do Steven?
- [15:08] Larre Leborski: *city
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: oh this is Steven btw
- [15:08] Motor Loon: Hi Steven °͜°
- [15:08] Steven Linden: Hello!
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: please introduce yourself steven for those who don't know you
- [15:08] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. Welcome Steve :-)
- [15:08] Sigma Avro: Hello
- [15:08] Moundsa Mayo: BTW, heck - sounds like he's very importatant right now!
- [15:08] Kallista Destiny: Welcome to the nuthouse Steven
- [15:08] Steven Linden: Well... I'm a release engineer
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: Steven is very important
- [15:09] Steven Linden: I work alongside Coyot (who's sick today)
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: poor Coyot. send him love on agni
- [15:09] Moundsa Mayo: How convenient B^D
- [15:09] Motor Loon: aww poor little Coyot, send love
- [15:09] Rickk Turbo: leet coder for ll then?
- [15:09] Moundsa Mayo: And chicken soup!
- [15:09] Kallista Destiny: Ate a bad Lamb...
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: Coyot and I ate at a French restaurant in SF last week
- [15:10] Motor Loon: so... you release the engineers...
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: we both had the Lapin ala Moutard
- [15:10] Moundsa Mayo: Vraiment!
- [15:10] Sigma Avro: oh, some frogs then ?
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: Mustard Rabbit
- [15:10] Steven Linden: Oh no... I release software that the engineers build
- [15:10] Motor Loon: ah
- [15:10] Motor Loon: guess there's a difference there
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: Steven is up at 6am with me every Tuesday morning
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: he is the man behind the upgrade process
- [15:11] Ima Mechanique: yeah, nobody is allowed to release the engineers
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: I am the man behind the man watching the upgrade process
- [15:11] Sigma Avro: can we have is cell phone number ? :)
- [15:11] Lil' Fuzzy Rascal: Rawr..
- [15:11] Sigma Avro: *his
- [15:11] Steven Linden: This is true, I do the Tuesday rolls
- [15:11] SonicAnd Miles: lol
- [15:12] Motor Loon: Alrighty
- [15:12] Flip Idlemind: So what services got "paused"
- [15:12] Motor Loon: network service Flip °͜°
- [15:13] Theresa Tennyson: Everything, sounds like.
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: billing services did
- [15:13] Moundsa Mayo: NP there!
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: things that would make people lose moneys
- [15:13] Motor Loon: Fair enough
- [15:13] Moundsa Mayo: Oops - forgot the sarcasm tags
- [15:13] Sigma Avro: some people is winning moeney here ?
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: but things look like they have calmed down
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: it was stressful for a bit there
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: but we have an amazing ops team
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: they do good work
- [15:14] Moundsa Mayo: But at least there were no Residents complaining ...
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: right...
- [15:14] Motor Loon: the complaint service was paused
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: so I'm going to chat about the releases this week now
- [15:14] Motor Loon: yes please
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: Tuesday all channels got the Inventory API changes
- [15:14] Sigma Avro: was not in. Merchants cpmplain more about MP than lidens transfer usaualy
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: that seems to have gone fine
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: we do have the new avatar fly height on all regions now
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: that also seems to be going fine
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: everyone can fly and is happy
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: like a little bird
- [15:15] Motor Loon: \o/
- [15:15] Sigma Avro: What about functions that go up to 4096 m ?
- [15:15] Larre Leborski: Indeed :-)
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: what about them?
- [15:16] Motor Loon: we're talking avatar flight limits not objects right
- [15:16] Sigma Avro: llSetRegionPos, have not check its capabilities with b5000
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: avatar flight restrictions
- [15:16] Sigma Avro: oh, ok
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: that is the only change
- [15:17] Rickk Turbo: what are they restrictions?
- [15:17] Motor Loon: good change though
- [15:17] Sigma Avro: (sorry for noise)
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel and LeTigre got new code
- [15:17] Motor Loon: time to burn them flightfeathers in a giant bonfire
- [15:17] Nalates Urriah: All birds flying around without feathers look a little funny, but otherwise no problem
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: it's a maint-server
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: "Fixes a simulator crash."
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: that's about all the details we have to share :-)
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: yay for fixing sim crashes though
- [15:18] Motor Loon: I've been having ALOT of griefing lately with some "new" simcrasher... said to be physics related... you guys know anything about such a "tool" ?
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: I think the SEC team is tracking a few of those
- [15:19] Motor Loon: Excellent
- [15:19] Motor Loon: I've been trying to get ahold of one, but it's rather tricky
- [15:19] Motor Loon: for a SEC jira
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: thanks
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: yeah let me know if you do
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: people area always creating new vectors for annoying griefing
- [15:19] Motor Loon: indeed
- [15:19] Motor Loon: we get hit usually every day... often 2-3 times a day with sims crashing as a result
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: Magnum is the same as before
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: with a fix for SVC-7845
- [15:20] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7845] Group notices are not sent to users from 12.04.13.253827 RC https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7845
- [15:20] Sigma Avro: whom "we" Motor ?
- [15:20] Motor Loon: my estate
- [15:20] Sigma Avro: many sims ?
- [15:20] Motor Loon: 150-200
- [15:21] Sigma Avro: ok, ok, good statitics
- [15:21] Motor Loon: but its usually only 3-4 sims that are attacked, always the same ones
- [15:21] Flip Idlemind: Any reason not to expect what's on Magnum to get promoted next week?
- [15:21] Motor Loon: hehe
- [15:22] Motor Loon: we like the magnum right now
- [15:22] Motor Loon: goood stuff
- [15:22] Kelly Linden: Nearly all the maint-servers we have recently released or have in the pipe have some anti-grief / anti-sim crash code in them. However as you can imagine it is an arms race.
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: Magnum will more than likely get promoted next week
- [15:23] Motor Loon: oh hey kelly... didn't see you there
- [15:23] Flip Idlemind: All anti griefing effors are appreciated
- [15:23] Flip Idlemind: efforts
- [15:23] Nalates Urriah: yes
- [15:23] Motor Loon: ...amazingly with all the sparkle
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: maestro, kelly, anything upcoming worth talking about?
- [15:23] Ima Mechanique: Motor, how did you miss the glare?
- [15:23] Kelly Linden: not on my end.
- [15:23] Motor Loon: I know
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: you can't miss kelly's bling
- [15:23] Maestro Linden: Not too much. Pathfinding is coming along
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: maesrto anything pathfinding to chat about that won't be discussed in 37 minutes at Flacon's PUG?
- [15:24] Kallista DestinyKallista Destiny puts sunglasses on
- [15:24] Maestro Linden: otherwise, there have just been a few recent bugs that people noticed after the Inventory changes went to trunk
- [15:24] Maestro Linden: No, I don't think so
- [15:24] Sigma Avro: little flacons
- [15:24] Sigma Avro: lol
- [15:24] Motor Loon: It's probably Falcons "thing"... but if anyone knows about the upcomming changes to mesh accounting (after the VolumeDetect "fix" / pathfinding) I'd love to hear more detail
- [15:24] Motor Loon: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/PATHBUG-69
- [15:24] Flip Idlemind: Like newly created notecards not auto-opening? That's the only one I'm aware of
- [15:24] Flame of Jira: [#PATHBUG-69] llVolumeDetect(TRUE) is broken https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/PATHBUG-69
- [15:25] Maestro Linden: also svc-7862
- [15:25] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7862] Saving a notecard containing an embedded item in a prim renders it blank or it locks with a no mod icon. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7862
- [15:25] Maestro Linden: and svc-7858
- [15:25] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7858] Items arriving in inventory don't become focused in the inventory window, when taking objects https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7858
- [15:26] Motor Loon: oh yeah, I've been annoyed with those ones
- [15:26] Maestro Linden: 7862 is probably the most major
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: what would a release be without a few new bugs?
- [15:26] Moundsa Mayo: A dream.
- [15:26] Flip Idlemind: Oh good news, according to Andrew, one of my JIRAs (SVC-7792) is getting fixed with Pathfinding
- [15:26] Flip Idlemind: SVC-7792
- [15:26] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7792] HUD Attachments Receive Infrequent Updates when Camera is Zoomed Out https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7792
- [15:27] Motor Loon: good
- [15:27] Maestro Linden: Hm, I thought that was fixed in some other branch
- [15:28] Motor Loon: A double-fix then?
- [15:28] Maestro Linden: oh, well it's also in some future maint-server release as well
- [15:28] Maestro Linden: *shrug*
- [15:28] Maestro Linden: double the fun
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: maestro do you have the link for Falcon's PUG?
- [15:28] Maestro Linden: secondlife://Aditi/secondlife/Pathtest%201/227/216/36 I suppose
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: I meant like in the wiki
- [15:29] Maestro LindenMaestro Linden just made that up, but is pretty sure it's in Pathtest 1
- [15:29] Maestro Linden: oh.. let's see
- [15:29] Maestro Linden: no, I can't find any links to the PUG
- [15:30] Sigma Avro: not sure there is yet
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: ok
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: someone make that happen and then let me know :-)
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: <_<
- [15:31] Sigma Avro: sure
- [15:31] Motor Loon: lol... I sorta keep expecting Steven to rez in at some point
- [15:31] Steven Linden: ha
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: is Steven not rezzed?
- [15:31] Motor Loon: °͜°
- [15:31] Sigma Avro: Steven is grieffing
- [15:31] Flip Idlemind: No he's just a cloud
- [15:31] Flip Idlemind: But, intentionally
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: oh right
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: he does that
- [15:32] Motor LoonMotor Loon thinks Steven just farts alot
- [15:32] Draconis Neurocam: I just set renderunloadedavatar to true so i see ruthed people rather than clouds
- [15:32] Sigma Avro: particles derenderd
- [15:32] Kallista Destiny: Ohh cool a multiple color cloud
- [15:32] Flip Idlemind: Yeah I'd rather see humanoids even if the shape isn't "right"
- [15:33] Rickk Turbo: instead of furries?
- [15:33] Rickk Turbo: :)
- [15:33] Flip Idlemind: Oh furries are humanoid (if I have my definition right)
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: so... I don't have much more for this meeting
- [15:33] Motor Loon: so Falcon does have a usergroup... it's just secret or?
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: we covered all the releases and don't have much upcoming at the moment
- [15:34] Sigma Avro: Falcon does not want a users group
- [15:34] Sigma Avro: just a meeting time and place
- [15:34] Motor Loon: aha
- [15:34] Motor Loon: typical... aalways gotta be different
- [15:34] Sigma Avro: so, no report needed, lol
- [15:35] Flip Idlemind: So, SVC-7790. Is that being looked at? I heard it was, but is it, like, at the next step after being "looked at" yet?
- [15:35] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7790] "Avatar Sounds" feature fails to disable all scripted sounds https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7790
- [15:36] Maestro Linden: No, it's just on the backlog at this point
- [15:36] Flip Idlemind: Oh, well that's something at least
- [15:36] Motor Loon: "in the paper pile"
- [15:37] Motor Loon: <crickets>
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: it's not that bad
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: just a matter of time
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: things get fixed a lot faster these days
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: in the grand scheme of grid fixes
- [15:38] Motor Loon: They do... kudos to LL for that btw
- [15:38] Larre Leborski: :-)
- [15:38] Sigma Avro: there is such a scheme ?
- [15:38] Theresa Tennyson: GRID fixes, yes...
- [15:39] Motor Loon: "* [15:36] Monty Linden: We're removing some of the stupid."
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: any questions with the time we have left?
- [15:39] SonicAnd Miles: lol
- [15:40] Motor Loon: nobody knew about the mesh accounting changes I mentioned earlier?
- [15:40] Sigma Avro: good one More
- [15:40] Flip Idlemind: I remember that quote but what was it in reference too
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: "* [15:37] Monty Linden: We're adding some more"
- [15:40] Sigma Avro: haha
- [15:40] Motor Loon: haha
- [15:40] Motor Loon: excellent Oskar
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: I can fake quotes all day
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: it's easy
- [15:41] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. What happened at this particular data center?? Someone tripped over a cord someplace?
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: "* [15:36] Abraham Lincoln: May the force be with you."
- [15:41] Lares Carter: Haven't heard about those changes, Motor. Thanks for the info, very excited to try them out soon. :)
- [15:41] Sigma Avro: darks side one ?
- [15:41] Motor LoonMotor Loon laughs his ass off...
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: I don't know the specifics Larre
- [15:41] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. ok.
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: it was hardware failures at the network level
- [15:41] Motor Loon: "coffee spill"
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: who knows
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: someone didn't feed the gerbils
- [15:42] Ima Mechanique: may be Coyot fell asleep on the router, would also explain his absence
- [15:42] Steven Linden: We don't let coyot near network hardware :)
- [15:42] Motor Loon: he's hiding in the bathroom with his empty coffee cup
- [15:42] Flip Idlemind: Well, if we're looking for topics...how's threaded region crossing coming along?
- [15:42] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. Probably lightning storm or tornado at the Dallas data center.. was hearing something like that.
- [15:42] Motor Loon: Miss supercode back from vacation yet?
- [15:43] Maestro Linden: yeah
- [15:43] SonicAnd Miles: I setup a data center in chicago :p
- [15:43] SonicAnd Miles: lol
- [15:43] Motor Loon: excellent
- [15:43] Motor Loon: indeed
- [15:43] Larre Leborski: :-)
- [15:44] Motor Loon: we all heard it...
- [15:44] Motor LoonMotor Loon grins
- [15:44] Moundsa Mayo: 'Big' is relative.
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: oh hush Ima
- [15:44] Flip Idlemind: Sometimes when I teleport, my attachments don't always come with me. They appear to be on me, but when I select them, their name and description are blank, and other people don't see them
- [15:44] Flip Idlemind: I'm not aware of a JIRA about it, but has anyone else noticed that?
- [15:44] Rickk Turbo: oh not that problem again
- [15:44] Motor Loon: Superglue Flip.... superglue
- [15:45] Ima Mechanique: we heard you, we might be deliberately mistaking your meaning, but we heard you
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: I don't know if ther eis a jira for that
- [15:45] Flip Idlemind: It seems to happen only to attachments with a large number of prims (> 150)
- [15:45] Motor Loon: so... it's kinda a feature more than a bug flip? °͜°
- [15:46] Rickk Turbo: something got lost in the teleporter compression?
- [15:46] Sigma Avro: yes, an antiogrieffer feature, lol
- [15:46] Motor Loon: new shiny lag-reducer
- [15:46] Flip Idlemind: Relogging clears it all up, but it seems like a problem in the "move stuff from region A to region B" machine (that's a thing, right?)
- [15:46] Theresa Tennyson: Dang, my HORSE is only around 100 prims.
- [15:46] Motor Loon: I could probably make a 1prim horse
- [15:46] Maestro Linden: Attachments region cross a bit differently than unattached objects
- [15:47] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. 1 prim sculpted horse with a sculpt map animation?
- [15:47] Sigma Avro: ?
- [15:47] Draconis Neurocam: do attachments worn through add rather than attach cross sims the same ways as the attached ones?
- [15:48] Multi Gadget v1.57.1Multi Gadget v1.57.1 by Timeless Prototype
- [15:48] Maestro Linden: I don't know about that, draconis
- [15:48] Motor Loon: I dont see why there should be a difference
- [15:49] Sigma Avro: so, some attachements cross only partyly region bordes. They are named partial attachments: new feature
- [15:49] Flip Idlemind: So if the thing I described is a bug, would fixing it be within the scope of the threaded region crossing project
- [15:50] Motor Loon: selfaware-artifical-intelligence-attachments that CHOOSES not to come with you on that teleport to Nudebeach island.
- [15:50] Sigma Avro: haha
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: hah
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: yeah that's it
- [15:51] Motor Loon: yeah... another fine byproduct of pathfinding
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: pathchoosing
- [15:51] Sigma Avro: lol
- [15:51] Motor Loon: ah yes ofcourse
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: it found the path it just chooses not to follow
- [15:52] Sigma Avro: path spliting
- [15:52] Motor Loon: Second life: Your attachments are now in evade mode and are hiding in a maze nearby
- [15:52] Sigma Avro: lol Motor
- [15:52] Theresa Tennyson: Depening on the attachment, that could be embarassing.
- [15:52] Kallista DestinyKallista Destiny chuckles
- [15:53] Motor Loon: whats embarassing for some, is entertainment for others
- [15:53] Larre Leborski: Ok.. now how do I get the render humanoid opeion in Phoenix so I don't have to look at cxlouds all the time?
- [15:53] Ima Mechanique: yes.... a new feature for exCite products!!
- [15:53] Larre Leborski: *clouds
- [15:53] Motor Loon: Its not a cloud Larre... it's just Steven
- [15:53] Kallista Destiny: Follow mode eh?
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: that's no cloud! That's a release engineer
- [15:54] Larre Leborski: Indeed.. ok.. I mean just getting the ruth avies when Steven is not around :-)
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: so we've got 6 minutes left
- [15:54] Sigma Avro: kirian effect
