- [15:02] Jessica Lyon: Happy rez day!

- [15:02] Latif Khalifa: linden supprot is mostly useless ;)

- [15:02] Oskar Linden: starting at the top :-)
- [15:02] Oskar Linden: big shout out to the emerald dev team for being here today

- [15:03] Draconis Neurocam: waves
- [15:03] Oskar Linden: really great seeing you guys here. I appreciate the support.
- [15:03] Jessica Lyon: glad to be here :)
- [15:03] Oskar Linden: so this has been an insane week for me
- [15:03] Sebastean Steamweaver: Hi there
- [15:03] Oskar Linden: me = qa / release
- [15:04] Jessica Lyon: lol Oskar, i can relate
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: seriously... it's been rough
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: so here's what happened
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: we get 1.36.0 50% rolled out when we realized that a tiny LSL change was breaking vendors
- [15:04] Salty Salamander: Hey!
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-914
- [15:04] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-914|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-914]]:
- [15:04] ATechwolf Foxclaw: open source meeting still going on...
- [15:04] ATechwolf Foxclaw: But I made it.
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: thanks AT!
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: we made a good LSL fix but didn't realize how many people were using LS improperly
- [15:05] Latif Khalifa: problem with testing vendors is that they don't work on aditi
- [15:05] Jessica Lyon: lol
- [15:05] Latif Khalifa: (no email support)
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: so it was breaking a ton of content so we had to pull it
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: I know latif
- [15:05] ATechwolf Foxclaw: If venders did work on beta, that would be an expoit.
- [15:06] kizmut Smit: OoOo.. that could cause an infinite loop if people are expecting that case.
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: I've been trying to determine how best to build aditi into something more useful.
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: so that was that
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: we made the call to pull 1.36.0
- [15:06] Latif Khalifa: i remember 4-5 botched rolling restarts, most had to do with coms functions and vendors
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: and that's not an easy task
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: poor lil
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: works so hard
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: he spends 6 hours rolling it out just to roll it back
- [15:07] Jessica Lyon: ugh
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: we pull the code, get it built, deployed, qa'd and ready for wednesday
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: then we hear bad news
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: neil has just updated his blog with a content theft exploit that we had a fix ready for
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: but no one was using it
- [15:07] Jessica Lyon: LOL neil
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: now we have that emergency to fix
- [15:08] Sebastean Steamweaver: Neil?
- [15:08] Jessica Lyon: neil life
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: so wednesday we roll 1.36.0 out fully at the same time we make a new branch of 1.36 called .2
- [15:08] Sebastean Steamweaver: Ahh
- [15:08] Latif Khalifa: which one was it this time?
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: because we already have a login fix called 1.36.1 that went out today
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: so that gets through qa and lil starts all over with an emergency server deploy today
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: so 2.5 full server rolls in 2 days
- [15:09] Drew Dwi: 1.36.2.5 ?
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: this was a content theft exploit involving huds and stuff
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: so basically lil and I have no social life anymore
- [15:09] Drew Dwi: oh nm misread
- [15:09] Ima Mechanique: you mean you had one before Oskar?
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: so we rolled 1.36.0 yesterday and 1.36.2 today
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: and 1.36.1 as a change to the login server
- [15:09] ATechwolf Foxclaw: Yea, for once. I found out about it before the fix and tested it. It was a bad one, but not as bad as it sound at first.
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: I did ma
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: ima
- [15:10] Ima Mechanique: you're not a proper geek then Oskar ;-)
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: I'm not a normal geek
- [15:10] Draconis Neurocam: what changed about the login server?
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: I also weld, play the japanese bamboo flute and have a black belt in samurai sword
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: login server needed a few tweaks
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: one for search
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: and one for welcome island load balancing
- [15:11] Draconis Neurocam: ah
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: so. we're good for now. :-)
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: this whole time we have been frantically trying to get everything ready for 1.38
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: we have a code freeze this Friday
- [15:12] Sebastean Steamweaver: Code freeze?
- [15:12] Jessica Lyon: why a freeze?
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: it will have a lot of new stuff for Linden Homes
- [15:12] Xugu Madison: always figured geeks with no social life was mostly a myth past high school, excluding the day job stealing all your time of course...
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: freezes give us a chance to start qa
- [15:12] Jessica Lyon: ah ok
- [15:12] Sebastean Steamweaver: Ahh
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: so we give the developers a hard date
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: and say if it's not merged by the freeze date it doesn't go into that version and would wait til 1.40
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: and so on
- [15:13] Xugu Madison: (I wish we had code freezes. We've now managed to get our release schedule down to weekly updates, instead of 1-3 times a day)
- [15:13] Drew Dwi: feature freeze you mean?
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: it's hard to enforce
- [15:13] Drew Dwi: or even fixes?
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: fixes get in
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: feature freeze is another term
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: we basically branch from trunk at the freeze date
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: so, while we're cramming everything into 1.38, we have to get 1.36.3 built and deployed to aditi and tested
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: hopefully that is next week
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: that's gonna be tricky because I have 2 guys also working on 1.40 stuff
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: so it's like juggling a thousand balls, but I think we've got it under control
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: and don't ask me what is going into 1.36.3 because I honestly can't remember
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: I'm gonna figure that out this afternoon and get it deployed here soon
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: we'll update the release notes though
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: so that's this week
- [15:16] Jessica Lyon: busy busy
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: the vendor issue brings up the next part of the agenda
- [15:16] Ima Mechanique: so will 1.36.3 deploy in a couple weeks to agni? barring bad bugs?
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: yeah
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: shooting for early march
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: 1st week
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: 1s
- [15:17] Ima Mechanique: will that be when .38 comes to aditi?
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: we will have 1.36.3 and 1.38 on ADITI at the same time
- [15:18] Ima Mechanique: ahhh
- [15:18] Ima Mechanique: that'll be fun ;-)
- [15:18] Jessica Lyon: o.0
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: we have a few versions on here now
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: like 4 server versions or something
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: I forget
- [15:18] Sebastean Steamweaver: Oskar, quick question about 1.38
- [15:18] Drew Dwi: see [1]
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: yeah
- [15:19] Sebastean Steamweaver: In 1.38 we've been told that likely several new LSL functions will be coming along with it. Is there any chance that a viewer update will allow us to test those new functions in our scripts?
- [15:19] Fractured Crystal: asdf
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: well from what I have heard vwr 2 goes public beta next week
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: so I think the answer is yes
- [15:19] Moy Loon: I can't wait for setprimparamsfast
- [15:20] Moy Loon: I hope it's in the next upcomming version =p
- [15:20] Sebastean Steamweaver: Nor can I, I only would have liked them to find a shorter name :P
- [15:20] Cerise Sorbet: Sebastean the compiler is server side now, new stuff works even when our editors do not highlight
- [15:20] Jessica Lyon: what Moy said
- [15:20] Ima Mechanique: Sebastean, you do not need the viewer to use them in Mono
- [15:20] Fractured Crystal: #define setprimparams llSetPrimitiveParamsFast
- [15:20] Sebastean Steamweaver: Ahh, thanks Cerise
- [15:20] Sebastean Steamweaver: llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast ;)
- [15:20] Psi Merlin: I think you can use the new functions as they are compiled by the server in mono - jsut no syntax highlight
- [15:20] Fractured Crystal: thats what I meant :<
- [15:20] Sebastean Steamweaver: Hehe
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: I'll have more info on all the LSL changes once we get 1.38 on here
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: so back to the agenda
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: and regarding the vendor issue that popped up
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: I'm looking to make an inventory of like the 25 most critical items in SL that should never break
- [15:22] Draconis Neurocam: good luck with that
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: that's what I'm asking you guys about
- [15:22] kizmut Smit: That's like trying to keep within 25 groups.
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: I'm looking for input
- [15:22] Sebastean Steamweaver: What we think should go on that list?
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: yeah
- [15:22] Hypatia Callisto: AOs
- [15:22] Psi Merlin: giggles MY code (For multiple values of me:)
- [15:22] Ovaltine Constantine: Magic boxes
- [15:22] Draconis Neurocam: anything relating to money i would imagine
- [15:22] Ima Mechanique: logging in ;-)
- [15:22] Latif Khalifa: will email still be disabled on aditi?
- [15:22] kizmut Smit: Where do you want this list?
- [15:22] kizmut Smit: In IM?
- [15:23] kizmut Smit: On the wiki?
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: hrm. let me think about this
- [15:23] ATechwolf Foxclaw: Every avatar makers has there own vender system due to the ones out there have problems where the only way to fix was to roll there own.
- [15:23] kizmut Smit: Votes on Jira?
- [15:23] kizmut Smit: LOL
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: I should have had a wiki page ready
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: heh
- [15:23] Drew Dwi: hmmm.... 25...
- [15:23] Jessica Lyon: Was just going to say wiki
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: someone want to make a jira for me while I'm talking? :-)
- [15:23] Latif Khalifa: stuff like hippo products are videly use, rent boxes and vendros
- [15:23] Sebastean Steamweaver: Is Oskar asking about specific items, or specific types of items?
- [15:23] Fractured Crystal: lol
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: specific items
- [15:23] Sebastean Steamweaver: Oh boy
- [15:23] Latif Khalifa: but they will not work without email
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: it could be both
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: specific types of items at a high level
- [15:24] Jessica Lyon: well, vendors obviously for one
- [15:24] kizmut Smit: Probably thinks like vendors and land management/rental
- [15:24] kizmut Smit: things rather
- [15:24] Latif Khalifa: MLP multi pose set of scripts ;)
- [15:24] kizmut Smit: Anything that moves big $$$
- [15:24] Ima Mechanique: permissions
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: ok
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: here we go
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: [2]
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: let's crunch on that for a few minutes
- [15:25] kizmut Smit: Anatomically correct attachments.
- [15:25] Sebastean Steamweaver: Vendors and such, yes. AOs, flight feathers (as much as I hate them), permissions
- [15:25] Sebastean Steamweaver: The GC Office Hours HUD ;)
- [15:25] Hypatia Callisto: :P
- [15:26] Sebastean Steamweaver: Things that use PosJump, heh.
- [15:26] Fractured Crystal: bridge object ;D
- [15:26] Jessica Lyon: lol, i agree with thte client bridge
- [15:26] Jessica Lyon: the*
- [15:26] Fractured Crystal: i wonder how many people are wearing one of THOSE
- [15:26] Jessica Lyon: i'd say about 90% of our user base
- [15:27] Latif Khalifa: Fractured LOL
- [15:27] Fractured Crystal: what D:
- [15:27] Fractured Crystal: im sure it ranks up there as far as amount of people using one
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: ok, well that is a good start I guess
- [15:27] Jessica Lyon: lol, whoever just wrote posjump, i love you, even if you did beat me to it
- [15:27] Latif Khalifa: you mean the one that used to create paick, omg they are looking at my profile :P
- [15:27] Latif Khalifa: panick*
- [15:27] Fractured Crystal: that was a griefer tool that did that thing
- [15:27] ATechwolf Foxclaw: The bridge object is auto-updated by the emerald dev. So that one can be removed due to can be fixed when broke.
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: I'll set up a wiki page from that and post it out to the beta group on agni for feedback
- [15:28] Fractured Crystal: it can't be fixed if the functions which power it are broken
- [15:28] Fractured Crystal: by that logic anything that recieves updates shouldnt be on the list
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: next on the agenda would be havok 7
- [15:29] Jessica Lyon: \o/
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: which is doing quite well in qa already
- [15:29] Jessica Lyon: really!
- [15:29] Hypatia Callisto: excellent
- [15:29] Liisa Runo: ok, lets move on, there is something in the end of the agenda i want to talk about
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: falcon is a rockstar and has done a lot of good work on it already
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: Milo is on opint for QA on that and is working on updating the public test plans
- [15:29] ATechwolf Foxclaw: I was thinking of stuff like the vender bug where a bug fix broke them and needed to be updated. Breaking functions is another matter.
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: I really hope to have a place to test here on ADITI in the next couple weeks.
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: of course I'll let you guys know
- [15:30] Jessica Lyon: please do Oskar!
- [15:30] Fractured Crystal: i was just saying that that item is not updated any more than any other item in SL that the creators update
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: but milo said things are looking great already
- [15:30] Sebastean Steamweaver: Oskar, is there any list of changes that will come about with the introduction of H7?
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: oh yeah
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: and if you look in the metting minutes and transcript from 2 weeks ago you'll see the whole discusssion
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: falcon was here and answered a ton of questions
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: feel free to read back
- [15:31] Sebastean Steamweaver: Awesome :)
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: this is it I think: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta_Server_Office_Hours/Minutes/2010-02-04
- [15:31] Latif Khalifa: make falcon write release notes :P
- [15:31] Sebastean Steamweaver: Falcon is one of my linden heroes at the moment, hehe.
- [15:32] Jessica Lyon: < read it, very interesting stuff
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: heh
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: he's pretty cool. I met him in person a few weeks ago at the big linden event
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: actually we had a few drinks and brainstormed about havok for a while
- [15:33] Sebastean Steamweaver: :D
- [15:34] Oskar Linden: well that's really all I have for havok
- [15:34] Sebastean Steamweaver: ~ping~
- [15:34] Oskar Linden: I guess we're to any other business unless there were questions
- [15:34] Hypatia Callisto: I look forward, I saw something in there about "new features" which perked my interest :P
- [15:35] Ima Mechanique: will the fix for SVC-3895 be in .38?
- [15:35] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3895:
- [#SVC-3895] Mono scripted: object cripples sim FPS
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: hey hypatia. glad you could make it
- [15:35] Drew Dwi: can you hit the open items and give updates if you have any?
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: yes Ima
- [15:35] Latif Khalifa: Babbage said "partial fix"
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: well it's a big issue
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: lots of parts
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: he's been tweaking it for a month
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: it's already been through qa once
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: then he made more changes
- [15:36] Jonathan Yap: When will the documentation be in the wiki for ...ParamsFast & friends?
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: so that's good for you guys, but more work for us :-)
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: no clue Jonathan
- [15:36] Sebastean Steamweaver: Haha, nice shortcut Jonathan.
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: you should ask babbage about that
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: he should have a line open to the doc team
- [15:36] Latif Khalifa: param fast is exactly the same as regular, just no delay
- [15:36] Ima Mechanique: Johnathon, I'd count on Strife having it in there minutes to hours after it's on the preview grid ;-)
- [15:37] Jonathan Yap: okay, that answers my question :)
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: cool
- [15:37] EriX Oh: Inventory sync: from Agni to Aditi ... - is it possible to sync mine to ADITI ..? (including Passwords for Login)?
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: so I'm looking at https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5385 now
- [15:37] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5385|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5385]]:
- [15:37] Ima Mechanique: my only other question is can I get a sim added to Aditi? ;-)
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: sure EriC. ping me on AGNI and I can take care of that for you
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: oops EriX
- [15:38] EriX Oh: actually, I did.. (I wrote a NC)
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: it's possible Ima, but we're getting a little tight on spares
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: I might have missed it. Sorry EriX. I'll look again
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: talk to me afterwards k?
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: Ima, send me the details on AGNI ok?
- [15:38] Ima Mechanique: OK
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: I like to accomodate, but we're getting a lot of private regions now
- [15:39] EriX Oh: ah...ok .. after the OH
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: and we don't have that much space
- [15:39] EriX Oh: (thanks)
- [15:39] Ima Mechanique: oh it's not a private region. It's mainland ;-)
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: either way
- [15:39] Jessica Lyon: Oskar, somewhat off topic q, how frequently does aditi update with main grid account information now a days? it used to be every 3 months i thought.
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: it's not enabled on an automatic basis jessica
- [15:40] Jessica Lyon: ooh, i thought it was
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: I do it on a per account basis now
- [15:40] Jessica Lyon: wow, when did you start doing that?
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: it gives me a chance to talk with people interested to make sure they are in the second life beta group
- [15:40] Oskar Linden: for about 6 months now
- [15:40] Jessica Lyon: ah I see, makes sense
- [15:40] Cerise Sorbet: Oskar is it ok to put that in the wiki or are you afraid to get inundated?
- [15:40] Ima Mechanique: when it started taking half a day or longer to perform the update
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: we pull over some parts with custom sql queries as needed
- [15:41] ATechwolf Foxclaw: Hmm...i've been away for long enogth I need a refreash on both accounts and inventory on both accoutns.
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: like we did events the other day for some specific testing
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: message me on AGNI ATechwolf
- [15:41] Entering god: mode, level 200
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: is Drew here?
- [15:42] Jessica Lyon: your gonna get swamped
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: not really Jessica
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: been like one or two a week
- [15:42] Jessica Lyon: Drew left a short while ago. He's on our beta team now!
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: ok
- [15:42] Jessica Lyon: oh that's not bad at all then
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: he had filed SVC-5385
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: so there is no real update on the Open Items
- [15:43] Jessica Lyon: he's offline yep
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: I admit it's something I don't give much attention to
- [15:43] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: although I will be able to edit the login page soon
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: so super excited about that
- [15:44] Sam Darrow: ;o
- [15:44] Latif Khalifa: which login page?
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: aditi's
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: it still talks about helping with havok 4
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: :-)
- [15:44] Sebastean Steamweaver: x)
- [15:44] Latif Khalifa: hahaha
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: right now it takes an entire we b deploy just to update the text
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: stupid
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: I made them pull the text out so I can update it on the fly
- [15:45] Sebastean Steamweaver: Andrew said there was going to be no early adopter program for H7, is that correct?
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: makes more sense
- [15:45] kizmut Smit: Wasn't that around when you joined LL?
- [15:45] Latif Khalifa: it's cool graphics though :)
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: there will be Sebastean. Keep listening to group chat on agni
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: H4 was around before I joined LL
- [15:45] Latif Khalifa: fires up LoLa to listen in :P
- [15:45] Fractured Crystal: hehe
- [15:45] Moy Loon: Wow, You're a newbie oskar =p
- [15:45] Jessica Lyon: before you joined sl as well?
- [15:46] Sebastean Steamweaver: If there is, I'd like to sign up our sim for it. I was on the H4 early adopters with Sidewinder and loved it.
- [15:46] Jessica Lyon: you never got to experience the epic win of H1?
- [15:46] kizmut Smit: Beta was much more quiet back then.
- [15:46] Sam Darrow: H1 was silly
- [15:46] Jessica Lyon: lol
- [15:46] Moy Loon: Havok1 was amazing
- [15:46] Sebastean Steamweaver: Havok1 was fun X)
- [15:46] Jessica Lyon: i miss havok1 , can we have it back please!
- [15:46] ATechwolf Foxclaw: I've heard H1 was better then the current one.
- [15:46] Moy Loon: I still can't do half the things in h4 because of various design flaws, that I could do in the first
- [15:46] kizmut Smit: LOL
- [15:46] Jessica Lyon: orite.. progress >.<
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: there is drew
- [15:47] Fractured Crystal: i want h7 too
- [15:47] Fractured Crystal: lol
- [15:47] Sebastean Steamweaver: Maybe H7 will fix the things that were fixed before ;)
- [15:47] Hypatia Callisto: nods, if we get more features it would be good, things like joints and stuff are gone for a long time, since a few months after I started in SL
- [15:47] Xugu Madison: H1 was unstable
- [15:47] Opensource Obscure: with H1 i used to stop flying and falling, hitting 'Fly' the exact moment I smashed to the ground - that gave your avatar a sort of weird energy boost
- [15:47] Jessica Lyon: you could crash a sim with a couple spheres.. that's not unstable lol
- [15:47] Moy Loon: H1 was atleast predictable =p
- [15:47] Oskar Linden: drew what did you want to talk about with SVC-5385
- [15:47] Moy Loon: Everything preformed the way it should
- [15:47] kizmut Smit: Yeah.. there's a few things I made in h1 that I hope to dig out of my inventory when we get into h7.
- [15:47] Drew Dwi: looks
- [15:48] Liisa Runo: we not there yet, and will run out of time before we get there.. i need to say this:
- [15:48] Liisa Runo: about 1253: What ever you do with damage, i dont care, LL damage system been a joke since day 1. But if you fiddle with it, _make sure we still have a way to keep avatar completely phantom_. This is very important to huge amount of content, vehicles, teleporters, seats, and the list goes on and on. Dont break tons of content just to get the crappy damage system working. Anyone who want fair combat in SL uses resident made damage thingies anyway, not LL damage.
- [15:48] Drew Dwi: is there any place on aditi can test this? or is land buying still disabled?
- [15:48] Hypatia Callisto: oh, I enjoyed tossing myself across the grid and flying offworld with H1, that was fun :D
- [15:48] Sebastean Steamweaver: I do look forward to H7. Most things, like Hypatia, with "new feature" tacked on catch my interest.
- [15:48] Sebastean Steamweaver: I did the same thing Hyp.
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: I'll try and get land buying fixed here drew
- [15:49] Drew Dwi: atm if you transfer land to a group and it has a region bonus on it, lots of stuff gets returned at random until its back under the normal 1.x prim limit
- [15:49] Latif Khalifa: fix linden balance while you're at it :)
- [15:49] EriX Oh: I hope that in H7 the "collision-box" will be fixed for animals like me... (in the physics - I still stand upright- like a normal person)
- [15:49] Drew Dwi: well i'm sure theres an order, but it feels random ^^
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: I hear ya Liisa, but I'm not dev, so I don't have that kind of control
- [15:49] Liisa Runo: it was on the agenda
- [15:49] kizmut Smit: My catapult tossed avvies further in h1.
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: I encourage you to test out new server versions here and if you see something broken then let me know and I can work to get it fixed before it ships
- [15:50] Psi Merlin: I might be able to help with testing Drew.
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: I know it was on the agena. I don't know who put it there though
- [15:50] Liisa Runo: okie, just had to say it, When griefer's need to shoot everybody is more important than residents ability to protect them self, something is totally wrong...
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: I hear ya. Thank you for bringin it up
- [15:51] Moy Loon: What about the 'griefers' that go into a combat region, and sit on a volumedetect thing so they can't be killed as they black screen everyone? =p
- [15:51] Drew Dwi: I think I added it last week actually just to see if there was any movement on it
- [15:51] Drew Dwi: but we didn't get to it
- [15:51] Sebastean Steamweaver: Making the avatar truly phantom, as I recall at Andrew's office hours, was an "accident" during the testing of H4. Usually sitting on things that were also phantom.
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: I will try to work on that open items list this week and close some of them out
- [15:51] Jessica Lyon: wasn't volumedetect fixed at some point ?
- [15:51] Drew Dwi: not that you don't have anything else to do ^^
- [15:51] kizmut Smit: How many damage regions we got on Aditi now?
- [15:51] Sebastean Steamweaver: Easy way to find out, hehe.
- [15:51] Liisa Runo: yes, non-enforced combat area is a problem, but thoise places are a minority compared to the rest of SL where ppl dont want to get shot
- [15:51] Drew Dwi: Jessica - yea it was fixed, and then I believe re-broke
- [15:52] Jessica Lyon: lul
- [15:52] Sebastean Steamweaver: Oh, parcel is full :P
- [15:53] Moy Loon: Well, sitting on a non volumedetect cube is just as effective as one that's not in non-damage regions
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: ok guys. 7 minutes left
- [15:53] Fractured Crystal: don't burst the bubble moy
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: this linden is gonna need some coffee after this
- [15:53] Moy Loon: =p
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: so what do you guys wanna talk about til 4?
- [15:53] Sebastean Steamweaver: Hmmm...
- [15:54] Latif Khalifa: hard work must be these office hours :P
- [15:54] Sebastean Steamweaver: I like Cake.
- [15:54] Ima Mechanique: katanas ;-)
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: it's not hard, but concentrated
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: in other meetings I can drone out
- [15:54] EriX Oh: for me, the inventory-syncs... .-)
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: this one I have to lead
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: I like katanas
- [15:54] Draconis Neurocam: broken script functions
- [15:54] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: I got a new tattoo the other day
- [15:54] Jessica Lyon: yes! broken script functions!
- [15:54] Sebastean Steamweaver: Oskar, may I also contact yuo after OH about the possibility of having a region added to aditi?
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: took the handle from my katana and got a tattoo of that
- [15:54] kizmut Smit: Pics or it didn't happen.
- [15:54] Jessica Lyon: llSetSoundRadious() fix it go!
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: yeah sebastean. msg me on AGNI about it
- [15:55] Drew Dwi: how many regions are on the beta grid atm?
- [15:55] Draconis Neurocam: llGetSunDirection()
- [15:55] Sebastean Steamweaver: Sound needs new functions, as well as fixed ones.
- [15:55] Can't create: object because
- the parcel is full.
- [15:55] Sebastean Steamweaver: Sound in SL is... pathetic.
- [15:55] Jessica Lyon: what Seb said ^
- [15:55] Moy Loon: Yeah
- [15:55] Hypatia Callisto: nods :/
- [15:55] Moy Loon: Most things in SL are overly simplistic, and outdated though
- [15:55] kizmut Smit: Post it in Jira.. I'll vote on it.
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: there
- [15:56] kizmut Smit: There's something wrong with each and every sound function available.
- [15:56] Fractured Crystal: people with payment info/identification on file should be able to upload sounds over 10 sec! lol
- [15:56] WoLf Loonie: Neat one
- [15:56] Soph Oh: nice
- [15:56] Jessica Lyon: oh nice tat
- [15:56] Ima Mechanique: nice Oskar, but you should work on the background colour ;-)
- [15:56] Moy Loon: And the fact that it's not grouped in any packet group, so it's possible to grief, and the crappy sound limit is a joke
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: the artist did an insane job on the detail
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: thanks ima
- [15:56] kizmut Smit: Is that your upper arm?
- [15:56] Liisa Runo: that tsuba on your skin Oskar?
- [15:56] Stegano Kaczor: Wow no shit
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: I got that background color from my parents
- [15:56] Stegano Kaczor: That's pretty epic
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: that tsuba is on my skin liisa
- [15:57] EriX Oh: .-)
- [15:57] Hypatia Callisto: oh mai, nice tat indeed
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: I'm impressed you know that japanese word
- [15:57] Sebastean Steamweaver: There needs to be, for example, the ability to play a sound at a fixed level within a defined area, so we don't have to worry about bad synching while using several scripts to pull off any reasonable coverage while not blowing others out around us.
- [15:57] Latif Khalifa: didn't emerald circumvent 10s limit?
- [15:57] kizmut Smit: nah
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: emerald circumvents everything ;-)
- [15:57] Fractured Crystal: it can playback sounds that were, but it cannot upload them
- [15:57] Sam Darrow: [Griffer
- [15:57] Drew Dwi: limits are overrated
- [15:57] kizmut Smit: I wish it did.. I been trying to breach that on OpenSim.
- [15:58] EriX Oh: Sounds: I found ONCE in my cache a 20s sound-clip ... (dunno where I heard that)
- [15:58] Latif Khalifa: last time i checked 10s was entirely client side limit
- [15:58] Jessica Lyon: it was possible for some time
- [15:58] Fractured Crystal: i suppose since its patched on the server now you could probably bug someone into adding a clientside toggle
- [15:58] Moy Loon: If you use caps, you can't upload anything over 10s
- [15:58] Jessica Lyon: I have several 5 nd 6 minute songs in my inventory
- [15:58] Sam Darrow: I have several dozen
- [15:58] Sam Darrow: Lol
- [15:58] Jessica Lyon: lol
- [15:58] Fractured Crystal: anyone with a ipoop has several hundred
- [15:58] Moy Loon: I have a few hundred <_<
- [15:58] Fractured Crystal: YES YOU DO
- [15:59] Jessica Lyon: haha
- [15:59] Fractured Crystal: griefer
- [15:59] kizmut Smit: GIMME
- [15:59] Sam Darrow: [Griffer]
- [15:59] Sebastean Steamweaver: I'm jealous X) So many of my effects wouldn't have to be 2 or 3 files that sound like junk because they click between plays.
- [15:59] Moy Loon: Acctualy, there's like 2-4k unique sounds on the ipoop, lol
- [15:59] Sebastean Steamweaver: That rely on a timer which is imperfect and annoying :P
- [15:59] Fractured Crystal: how many > 10sec
- [15:59] Moy Loon: You cah use llusesoundquening
- [15:59] Fractured Crystal: o-o
- [15:59] Moy Loon: Or whatever it's called
- [15:59] Moy Loon: and loop many things together seamlessly
- [15:59] Sebastean Steamweaver: I do Moy, it still isn't perfect.
- [15:59] Drew Dwi: depends on how lagged things are
- [15:59] Moy Loon: Play the next sound about one second before the other
- [15:59] Moy Loon: Never had an issue with that
- [15:59] Fractured Crystal: i made someone a music box the other day that worked just finrewith several 10sec clips
- [16:00] Moy Loon: Doppler kills them though =p
- [16:00] Sebastean Steamweaver: I've had several, and I even try to tailor each clip to reduce the noticeability of the break, but it's still there.
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: ok guys
- [16:00] Jessica Lyon: providing the simulator isn't being pwned with resizer scripts in a dozen peoples hairs
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: 4pm
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: ding ding ding
- [16:00] Jessica Lyon: aww
- [16:00] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [16:00] Jessica Lyon: but we came to griff you
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: I know I know
- [16:00] Drew Dwi: saved by the bell?
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: so much fun
- [16:00] Ima Mechanique: bye Oskar
- [16:00] Stegano Kaczor: later
- [16:00] Soph Oh: thanks Oskar
