- [15:08] Bambers Linden: waves
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: there is Bambers
- [15:08] Ima Mechanique: waves back
- [15:08] JB Hancroft: hi Bambers
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: Bambers is like me, on the VWR side of things
- [15:09] Cathy Gray: hey Bambers :)
- [15:09] Rex Cronon: u kind of sound like u practiced that speach in front of a mirror:)
- [15:09] Drew Bhalti: mews
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: Bambers would you like to introduce yourself?
- [15:09] Bambers Linden: hi everyone :)
- [15:09] Rex Cronon: hi
- [15:09] Bambers Linden: sure - I'm Bambers and I have a problem
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: what's your problem bambers?
- [15:09] Bambers Linden: I actually have many, and most begin with the letters "VWR"
- [15:09] Ima Mechanique: too much work, not enough hours?
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: tells everyone that bambers is trying to be funny
- [15:10] Serenity Rosencrans: :)
- [15:10] Bambers Linden: I think everyone with a computer has that problem, Ima :)
- [15:10] Ima Mechanique: cuz we're all familiar with that one ;-)
- [15:10] Rex Cronon: hahaha
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: british comedy is very dry
- [15:10] Moundsa Mayo: Welcome to the group, Bambers. Here's your big book and a stack of pamphlets.
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: so bambers and I are like two sides of the same coin these days
- [15:10] Bambers Linden: thanks. As you can tell, Oskar is my translator. If ever I say something bizarre and you don't get it, blame Oskar :)
- [15:10] Gooden Uggla: it's a good comedy sketch... needs a little more rehearsal :)
- [15:10] Bambers Linden: I do
- [15:10] JB Hancroft: Go evangelize, and there will be a test, yes?
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: integration qa is the final process in the dev/reelase cycle
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: as we talked about last week qa is embedded in dev projects
- [15:11] Gooden Uggla: OPP!
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: after a project certifies that their project is ready it comes to integration qa
- [15:11] Moundsa Mayo: Yah, JB. Life is a test B^)
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: that is when it gets on ADITI and I bring it to you guys
- [15:11] Gooden Uggla: (and KCP)
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: then it gets tested in an integration phase
- [15:11] Jonathan Yap: What is KCP?
- [15:11] Bambers Linden: currently Server goes to aditi
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: integrated with web and vwr and residents
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: KCP is Kelly's Crazy Plan
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: it is a release strategy
- [15:12] Bambers Linden: Viewer goes to being "available" but the new features may or may not be restricted to Aditi
- [15:12] Bambers Linden: (depending on the feature)
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: integration qa works on managing external testing resources
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: and verifying test plans
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: ensuring qa coverage
- [15:13] Gooden Uggla: kelly and oscar formulated parts of AI (aditi insanity)
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: stuff like that
- [15:13] Drew Bhalti: :3
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: external qa resources means you guys
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: among others
- [15:13] Bambers Linden: :)
- [15:13] Bambers Linden: waves at you guys
- [15:13] Moundsa Mayo: Oh NOOOES - we been demoted from Residents to Resources!!
- [15:13] Drew Bhalti: lol
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: only promotes
- [15:13] Gooden Uggla: *waves back*
- [15:13] Bambers Linden: lol
- [15:14] Aeron Constantine: hah
- [15:14] JB Hancroft: Moundsa - shh, you get a tee-shirt
- [15:14] Moundsa Mayo: It's HR speak - run fer yer dignity!! B^)
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: anyway, I asked bambers to come out and meet you guys so he can see things from my side
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: we're hoping to cover for each other when needed
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: we do need t-shirts
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: like rl t-shirts :-D
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: puts that on the backlog
- [15:15] Drew Bhalti: I like that idea :3
- [15:15] Eddi Decosta: heheh Oskar
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: well that is Integration QA
- [15:15] Bambers Linden: and at times we may be working in concert to test a particular feature from both server and viewer sidfe
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: any questions?
- [15:15] Bambers Linden: *side
- [15:15] lonetorus Habilis: please not cafe press tshirtrs
- [15:15] Eddi Decosta: poke him of my part :p
- [15:16] Gooden Uggla: bambers are you going to start up an office hour again?
- [15:16] Monty Linden: so the t-shirts will say: IQ1, IQ2, IQ3...?
- [15:16] Bambers Linden: yes, I plan to. My last OH is on hold (it was a triage)
- [15:16] Gooden Uggla: yup, a few of us rememebr
- [15:16] Eddi Decosta: hey if you have a Second life t-shirt i want that :p
- [15:16] JB Hancroft: I'm wondering if there already is, or if we're planning for an object or script respository of test objects. I'm ok with bringing "whatever" to the show... any plans for a more comprehensive regression suite that builds over time?
- [15:16] Bambers Linden: I think we'll be changing the focus so it will be a general Viewer quality office hours
- [15:17] Rex Cronon: u should start with IQ100:)
- [15:17] Eddi Decosta: with lsl code in my back
- [15:17] Eddi Decosta: hehe
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: yes JB
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: but t is as time permits
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: I have lots of ideas
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: and we're getting to them slowly
- [15:17] Bambers Linden: he does
- [15:17] Bambers Linden: he is
- [15:17] Bambers Linden: ;)
- [15:17] Gooden Uggla: takes a bit of courage to hold those hours, i promise to try to be nice
- [15:17] Moundsa Mayo: *IS* ther a full regression test suite anywhere? Or at least an extract of prior valid jira entries?
- [15:17] Oskar Linden: working on that too moundsa
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: it falls under the scope of iQA
- [15:18] Moundsa Mayo: You must be up to 20 hours a day by now.
- [15:18] JB Hancroft: Oskar - if you have a wish list of tests we could do from LSL as residents to exercise certain things, please post the list and I'm sure people will contribute
- [15:18] Cathy Gray: amen
- [15:19] Bambers Linden: (we go by iQA by the way)
- [15:19] Bambers Linden: ('cos Integration is way too long a word...)
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: good idea JB
- [15:19] JB Hancroft: imagines the tee-shirt logo already for iQA ;)
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: ok
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: next thing is BlueSteel
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: :-D
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: last week lil was here
- [15:19] Moundsa Mayo: IQA, Institute of Quality Assurance (UK)
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: and he talked about the new release strategy
- [15:20] Gooden Uggla: starts humming "OPP in da iQA..."
- [15:20] Draconis Neurocam: what is blue steel?
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: and I talked about the idea of release channels
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel is on e of 3 RC channels on AGNI
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel, Magnum, and LeTigre
- [15:20] Tresyllione Snowpaw: \o/ tiger
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: once a project is done and gets to integration qa and release it comes to ADITI
- [15:20] Serenity Rosencrans: The BlueSteel web page is devoid of details
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: once it passes a level of acceptance here it goes to AGNI
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: it's getting there Serenity
- [15:21] Serenity Rosencrans: smiles
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: so next week 1.42.1 is going to AGNI in a pilot roll/Release Candidate
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: ~10% of the grid
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: mostly mainland
- [15:21] Eddi Decosta: Oskar, i have read the post of Lil this morning , im little surprised
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: info will be here
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta/BlueSteel
- [15:22] Lares Carter: whats with the private pilot regions?
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: I have 4 regions on AGNI now that are part of the BlueSteel channel
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: that's a good question Lares
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: at any given time there will be 3 RC's on AGNI
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: so the pilot list is harder to manage
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: I still need to talk to lil about it
- [15:23] Lares Carter: there will be a new apply process?
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: we are basically going to have 3 pilots on agni always
- [15:23] Gooden Uggla: any idea on estate tools to manage the versions?
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:23] JB Hancroft: Oskar - is there a way to have a region be *not* part of the first wave for new server updates?
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: that would be a part of the glorious future gooden
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: but not possible right now
- [15:24] JB Hancroft: Some regions we'd really prefer to have as "production" ?
- [15:24] Gooden Uggla: i was trying to make known that it's easiest to do it on the web page for estate management
- [15:24] JB Hancroft: Maybe not your thing... who might I ask?
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: yes JB. There will be. I need to ask how the blacklist is being defined
- [15:24] Eddi Decosta: blacklist?
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: I know Gooden. That is ez... until you see the wait time for web projects. We're looking at like q2-11
- [15:24] Gooden Uggla: oh good lord...
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: to get started
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: i know
- [15:25] Draconis Neurocam: wow
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: yeah
- [15:25] Moundsa Mayo: RL intrudes even into SL
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: a blacklist would be a list of region owners who did NOT want their region on any pilot ever
- [15:25] Eddi Decosta: that thing make me very curious
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: the coolest idea is from Falcon
- [15:25] JB Hancroft: ok, thanks Oskar.
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: which is create a vwr console
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: like quake had
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: hit the ~ key
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: and you can type in commands
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: save settings
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: not tied to UI changes
- [15:26] Cathy Gray: I like that
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: it is a rocking idea
- [15:26] Seanas Alston: that sounds great!
- [15:26] lonetorus Habilis: i like it too
- [15:26] Tresyllione Snowpaw: ll_cheats 1
- [15:26] Jonathan Yap: settings of what?
- [15:26] JB Hancroft: command line, into .. the viewer or the region?
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: anything
- [15:26] Lares Carter: that sounds very good
- [15:26] Gooden Uggla: i have 2 regions that i'd like on that list, but could offer 3 others to split between the versions
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: anything estate managers need but can't ahve now
- [15:26] Psi Merlin: I like Falcon's idea - he described it at Andrew's OH the other week.
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: like physics throttles
- [15:26] JB Hancroft: ohhh yes
- [15:26] Cathy Gray: awesome
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: or your own grey goo fence setting
- [15:26] lonetorus Habilis: so, when can we have console? ;)
- [15:26] JB Hancroft: no GUI mods needed - just parsing and filters
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: with the understanding that if you F it up, that's your region :-D
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: if you want no grey goo fence ok
- [15:27] Gooden Uggla: ooohhh
- [15:27] Seanas Alston: that would be a very useful feature
- [15:27] Gooden Uggla: yes please
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: know it would
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: it makes me very excited
- [15:27] Techwolf Lupindo: combat regines would love to trun off the grey goo fence
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: I know
- [15:27] Bambers Linden: you look so excited you may get a little flushed oskar
- [15:27] Jonathan Yap: ~Set MaxPrims 80,000
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: it's just an example of the control I want em's to have
- [15:27] JB Hancroft: wonders what happpens when a commode gets excited.. :(
- [15:27] lonetorus Habilis: how soon could console be implemented?
- [15:27] Cathy Gray: boom
- [15:27] Seanas Alston: it would also be useful for those whos connections isnt that fast, to limit how many physical objects render
- [15:27] Gooden Uggla: yes please :)
- [15:28] Eddi Decosta: loll bambers
- [15:28] Psi Merlin: I suggested beign able to see the sims virtual memory use for a region.
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: I need to follow up with him on that
- [15:28] JB Hancroft: for private regions focused on a specific set of things to be done, it would be great to be able to "tune" them - absolutely :)
- [15:28] Gooden Uggla: i know for a fact that something like that would go a long way towards instilling patience while we wait for mono :)
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: if we can get away with the idea of a console the sky is the limit
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: I'd love to see something like top
- [15:28] Jonathan Yap: maybe you could get a better top script list
- [15:28] Cathy Gray: hopefully that'll work out :)
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: top -oScriptTime
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: :-p
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: anyway a little off topic
- [15:29] dantia Gothly: id like to see the script time of a script i write in the same window
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: next week we are rolling to the BlueSteel channel what will essentially be 1.42.1
- [15:29] Gooden Uggla: there's room for a coupla more button on the debug tab
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: but we're changin server version numbers
- [15:29] JB Hancroft: why the change?
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: 1.42 is the last of the incrementing numbers
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: changing it to work with the new release process at the same time
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: changing them to reflect a date driven proces
- [15:30] Gooden Uggla: OPP gets it's own numeration?
- [15:30] Gooden Uggla: awesome
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: Server 2010.09.12
- [15:30] Jonathan Yap: What will they look like
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: that way we can have 3 RC's on agni at the same time
- [15:30] Gooden Uggla: date of release or date of start odf testing?
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: and it won't be like 1.42.1 and 1.42.3 but 1.42.0 went out last
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: I forget gooden :-D
- [15:31] Gooden Uggla: *smiles*
- [15:31] Ima Mechanique: hopefully you will not need to add time to thoes for when bugs have to be patched in a hurry ;-)
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: maybe maestro remembers
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: so yeah next week BlueSteel
- [15:31] Maestro Linden: hm I'm not sure what the date will be
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: I have 4 sandboxes set up for each RC channel right now
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel Sandbox 1-4
- [15:32] Maestro Linden: maybe it'll be the date the candidate appeared for testing
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: these are simple areas to test changes
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: we don't have an easy way to get a list of all changed regions to you guys
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: so we created 4 regions that will always be in that channel
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: 2 class 5's and 2 class 7's
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: per rc channel
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: I was thinking of locking them to members of the group Second Life Beta
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: I want people to be in that group so they get used to the communications I do there
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: what do you guys think?
- [15:33] Seanas Alston: which regions are the class 7 regions. I havent seen them yet.
- [15:34] Gooden Uggla: not a bad idea, you'll really have to have moderators on top of the group chat and tags
- [15:34] Ima Mechanique: good idea, it also stops people accidentally stumbling there and "losing" inventory or whatever
- [15:34] Oskar Linden: it will be bluesteel sandbox 3-4 Seanas
- [15:34] Lares Carter: i still would like a list of the regions in the channel, but that will work too.
- [15:34] Drew Bhalti: [15:32
- [15:34] Drew Bhalti: works for me
- [15:34] Drew Bhalti: wrong key
- [15:34] Rex Cronon: do u really need moderators in a group run by lindens:)
- [15:34] Oskar Linden: alright I'll set it up like that for now
- [15:34] Drew Bhalti: unbinds a key
- [15:34] Oskar Linden: yeah rex, because I'm not always around
- [15:34] Moundsa Mayo: Call me fanboy, but I'm for anything that makes your testing efforts easier and more comprehensive.
- [15:34] Oskar Linden: I like my weekends
- [15:35] JB Hancroft: that's ok - can stop briefly in each region to see what version they're on. It might be more convenient to be able to look them up, but that's just one more thing to maintain
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: or I like them a lot more now
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: each of the rc channel sandboxes will be in the same version
- [15:35] JB Hancroft: ah - solved :))
- [15:35] Ima Mechanique: like to use you LAN room for gaming not working
- [15:35] Gooden Uggla: rex - short answer:yes
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: there are 4 sandboxes for LeTigre and 4 for Magnum
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: but Mgnum isn't ready yet ;-)
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: yes Ima
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: like my starcraft party this Saturday
- [15:36] Ima Mechanique: nice
- [15:36] Seanas Alston: awesome
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: of course I will communicate out more about BlueSteel tomorrow or Monday
- [15:37] Seanas Alston: i look forward to it
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: any more questions about release process or that stuff?
- [15:38] VPVE Emoticon: particle emitter: particle rezzer adjusted for maintenance
- [15:38] Gooden Uggla: one idea to identify which sim is on what version would be to give tyche shepard a heads-up
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: does he have a some grid sniffing tool?
- [15:38] Latif Khalifa: why didn't you mention it's rightful name (KCP) on the blog? :P
- [15:38] Gooden Uggla: yup, does a grid survey every week
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: thought we did. that was lil. iuno
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: interesting gooden. I'll ping him
- [15:39] JB Hancroft: C - Comprehensive? ;)
- [15:39] Gooden Uggla: [1]
- [15:39] Rex Cronon: just make a new lsl function that returns server version:)
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: the channel name will be clear
- [15:39] Jonathan Yap: I use this sometimes [2]
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: Second Life RC BlueSteel Server 2010.09.12
- [15:39] Ima Mechanique: JB C - Crazy
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: or whatever
- [15:39] Gooden Uggla: C=crazy
- [15:39] JB Hancroft: Ima... :))
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: it is a crazy plan
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: but it's exciting to see it evolve
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: we'll see next week how it goes
- [15:40] Ima Mechanique: although it might be comprhensive in its craziness too
- [15:40] Gooden Uggla: there's also [3]
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: I'll try to reach out to each of them
- [15:41] Gooden Uggla: the [plans may be crazy and preposterous... but it's what we got...
- [15:41] Oskar Linden: if we could have a resi run grid tool that would be a huge load off my back :-D
- [15:41] Latif Khalifa: to do what?
- [15:41] JB Hancroft: since it's the main grid, we can tie into HTTP for stats recording
- [15:41] Gooden Uggla: oskar i believe one or all could add to their botsniffer quite easily
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: so these bots of theirs just tp around and poke a web service?
- [15:42] Gooden Uggla: especially for a mention in the blg :)
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: more or less I guess
- [15:42] Gooden Uggla: they poyup, it appears so
- [15:42] JB Hancroft: one of them works off Translators that some 50,000+ users in SL use, and they use bots, also
- [15:42] Gooden Uggla: yes*
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: oh nice
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: cool I'll poke them about i
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: t
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: thanks for the tips
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: so let's move to any other business
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: Why is this not fixed yet SVC-5411[c
- [15:44] Issue Helper:
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: oops
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: SVC-5411
- [15:44] Issue Helper:
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: there's a good link
- [15:44] Gooden Uggla: good question
- [15:44] Drew Bhalti: was told that it was removed to stop causing lag across regions.
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: is simon here?
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: I had poked him about it
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: who told you it was for lag drew?
- [15:45] Latif Khalifa: he's not here
- [15:45] Moundsa Mayo: We appear to be in a Simon-free zone.
- [15:45] Drew Bhalti: I need to look at my logs. give me a sec
- [15:45] JB Hancroft: I assumed there was a new protocol dealing with V2, since the reception confirmation went away for V2 users.
- [15:46] Serenity Rosencrans: all these issues are "awaiting review" .... what does that mean exactly?
- [15:46] Latif Khalifa: "open"
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: well in any case I'll poke him again about it
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: it doesn't mean much serenity
- [15:46] Serenity Rosencrans: ok
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: we just redid a lot of jira
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: and some processes are changing
- [15:46] Seanas Alston: im crashing alot sorry lol
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: so it was imported internally
- [15:46] Gooden Uggla: reception went away for all viewers
- [15:47] Serenity Rosencrans: so changing to that status doesn't mean anymore work will be done on it?
- [15:47] Serenity Rosencrans: *any more
- [15:47] Oskar Linden: that means we took over working on it inside jira and then never updated the external jira again
- [15:47] Oskar Linden: the new jira doesn't really let us do that
- [15:47] Gooden Uggla: mmhmm
- [15:47] Oskar Linden: there is no more internal jira
- [15:47] Serenity Rosencrans: ok
- [15:47] Rex Cronon: btw. your new and "improved" jira uses too much js
- [15:47] Drew Bhalti: facepaws as she can not find her logs x.x
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: pretty much every single unclosed jira is being looked over and reanalyzed to fit into our current scope of work and then added to individual teams backlogs
- [15:48] Gooden Uggla: supposedly we'll be able to see more of the innerworkings on issues... providing it's actually updated
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: then prioritized
- [15:48] Techwolf Lupindo: The new UI layout on the new jira is hard on the eyes.
- [15:48] Serenity Rosencrans: i see ok
- [15:48] Draconis Neurocam: rhat has to be a crazy amount of work
- [15:48] Jonathan Yap: Are bug triage meetings now moot?
- [15:48] lonetorus Habilis: drew, what os?
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: not necessarily Jonathan
- [15:48] JB Hancroft: Oskar - any ETA on when the backlogs will more or less represent what is going to get done vs. not?
- [15:48] Gooden Uggla: yup, esbee is living on coffee and willpower
- [15:48] Oskar Linden: they still hold relevence for new issues
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: I'm not sur ethe backlogs will ever be public if that is what you are asking
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: or I think snowstorms was
- [15:49] Gooden Uggla: just the viewer
- [15:49] Draconis Neurocam: snowstorms is yes
- [15:49] Drew Bhalti: Lonetorus, I realized I had to delete the secondlife folder again in my applications directory because I keep getting hit with a 1 fps bug that makes it impossible for me to use SL until I delete it and make the client go into "noob" mode aka fresh start with no saved settings.
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: lame
- [15:50] Gooden Uggla: that's why we come here to learn things :)
- [15:50] Gooden Uggla: and to blow shit up, of course
- [15:50] JB Hancroft: I'm a little confused - so with svc-5411, what would see as a change, when someone is working on it?
- [15:50] Issue Helper:
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: I don't have anything new for SVC-4632 or SVC-5959
- [15:51] Issue Helper:
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: ultimately it would get assigned
- [15:51] Gooden Uggla: JB we won't know until it's coming into the one of the 3 test versions
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: then marked as fixed with a note to when it was going on agni
- [15:51] JB Hancroft: ok - gotcha
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: release notes would link to it
- [15:51] Oskar Linden: SVC-742 will most likely never get fixed
- [15:51] Issue Helper:
- [15:52] Oskar Linden: if it was even 'broke'
- [15:52] JB Hancroft: "next" :)
- [15:52] Gooden Uggla: svc-5959 continues to annoy a lotta people
- [15:52] Issue Helper:
- [15:52] Oskar Linden: let's just call it SL flair
- [15:52] Oskar Linden: and SL needs at least 15 pieces of flair
- [15:52] Oskar Linden: I'll poke on that one too gooden
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: I don't remember seeing it before
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: the chat.llsd in the sl directory is cool imo
- [15:53] Gooden Uggla: i added it last week, the description someone purt on it was incorrect
- [15:53] Gooden Uggla: fixed now :)
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: that is the last thing in the any other business section
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: I'm poking them to make chat.llsd more inclusive
- [15:53] Oskar Linden: of username and display name
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: correct me if I am wrong but chat.llsd is new to the display names vwr right?
- [15:54] Lares Carter: never seen them before the dispaly name viewer, yes
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: I like it
- [15:54] Monty Linden: btw, svc-5411 was a griefing vector due to cross-region IMs
- [15:54] Oskar Linden: it would be real easy to make it parsed byt a script
- [15:54] Lares Carter: what editor do you use to open them?
- [15:54] Issue Helper:
- [15:55] Monty Linden: they were removed but viewer 2 isn't even sensitive to the old message
- [15:55] Maestro Linden: JB: this should answer your question about Jira4 workflow: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Issue_Tracker/Status
- [15:55] Oskar Linden: are we just not supporting it anymore monty?
- [15:55] JB Hancroft: thanks, Maestro
- [15:56] Monty Linden: I believe we are not, Oskar
- [15:57] Gooden Uggla: umm... not to be a pain, but receiving reception notices is pretty important to merchants
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: yeah monty
- [15:57] Seanas Alston: may i say somethig, about the new display names features, i feel they will be alot of exploits opened up once implemented, i like the idea. but not the many doors it will open.
- [15:57] Oskar Linden: what gooden said
- [15:57] Lares Carter: yes, this is a very usefull feature being gone then :(
- [15:58] Maestro Linden: the problem with the notices is that they were not validated and were used as a griefing vector
- [15:58] Maestro Linden: (so I'm told :) )
- [15:58] Gooden Uggla: so the baby went out with the bathwater?
- [15:58] Oskar Linden: griffers
- [15:58] Oskar Linden: peers around
- [15:59] Lares Carter: i still dont like the solution of just removing them then tbh
- [15:59] Oskar Linden: so I got the answer regarding the pilot roll list
- [15:59] Oskar Linden: or the pilot region list
- [15:59] Oskar Linden: lil is planning on taking that list and splitting it statically amongst the 3 RC channels
- [15:59] Jonathan Yap: Oh, what about weekly reboots?
- [15:59] Oskar Linden: so 1/3rd will always be on Blue Steel
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: weekly reboots means fresher server instances right?
- [16:00] Monty Linden: Lares: all I can tell you is that the IM system is *not* light weight at present...
- [16:00] Lares Carter: ah cool, so no need to re-apply for it?
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: sells it as a good thing
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: correct Lares
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: we are using the same list
- [16:00] Gooden Uggla: weekly reboots means things work better for 2 days after...
- [16:00] JB Hancroft: cool
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: but there is a 2 in 3 chance you won't be seeing new features that might come to the grid in the next 2 weeks
- [16:00] Oskar Linden: statistically speaking
- [16:01] JB Hancroft: but we can always move to the one of the sandboxes to test against it
- [16:01] Lares Carter: okay, i understand monty. thanks for explaining.
- [16:01] Jonathan Yap: Will the weekly reboots only affect the 30% of the grid with test server code?
- [16:01] Monty Linden: (to be more honest, it confuses and angers me)
- [16:02] Drew Bhalti: waves goodbye and has to go now
- [16:02] Oskar Linden: those in the RC channel will possibly reboot more than once a week
- [16:02] JB Hancroft: Bye Drew
- [16:02] Seanas Alston: goodbye drew
- [16:02] Gooden Uggla: question then becomes - will new features eventually (3 weeks?) make it to each version?
- [16:02] Draconis Neurocam: i can imagine monty
- [16:02] Drew Bhalti: ^.^
- [16:02] Rex Cronon: tc
- [16:02] Cathy Gray: tc Drew :)
- [16:02] Gooden Uggla: thanks monty, we have the sanme reaction...
- [16:02] Monty Linden: yeah, I know :)
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: alright guys :-)
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: notches his gun with another great beta OH
- [16:03] Flynn Tigerpaw: Where did you get the toilet av Oskar?
- [16:03] Serenity Rosencrans: hehe
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: i forget
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: it's a popular place
- [16:03] Seanas Alston: its a grendcels avatar flynn
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: it was like L$50
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: yeah
- [16:03] Seanas Alston: grendels*
- [16:03] JB Hancroft: yeah, well... he's armed... of course it was a "great" OH ;)
- [16:03] Oskar Linden: grendel
- [16:03] Jonathan Yap: Grendel's Children?
- [16:03] Cathy Gray: lol
- [16:03] Seanas Alston: yeah
- [16:03] Flynn Tigerpaw: ahh ok thankx
- [16:04] Gooden Uggla: a throne on a throne... most meta...
- [16:04] Ima Mechanique: gotta run. thanks for the OH oskar
- [16:04] Seanas Alston: but yes this was quite an interesting discussion.
- [16:04] JB Hancroft: ++Gooden
- [16:04] Oskar Linden: l8r)
- [16:04] Ima Mechanique: bye all
- [16:04] Moundsa Mayo: Thanks Oskar, Maestro, Monty, Bambers!
- [16:04] Oskar Linden: have a good one guys
- [16:04] Seanas Alston: i should come more often.
- [16:04] Rex Cronon: tc
- [16:04] JB Hancroft: tc all
- [16:04] Oskar Linden: thanks so much for stopping by and participating
- [16:04] Serenity Rosencrans: waves
- [16:04] Rex Cronon: i am going too. tc everybody:)
- [16:04] Gooden Uggla: adios ya'll
