- [15:01] Mastorian Kingsford: cheese its is gods food
- [15:02] Squirrel Wood: redneck?
- [15:02] Alexa Linden: nods in agreement
- [15:02] Chaos Markstein: well there are 3 main issues (2 of them are bugs) with the new viewer
- [15:02] Soap Clawtooth: good day to all
- [15:02] Mastorian Kingsford: add a little peanut butter and your in heaven
- [15:02] Gellan Glenelg: hi soap
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: So while we wait for a few more folks...
- [15:03] Squirrel Wood: I had to delete the client configuration for the rc1 client in order to get it to activate voice again...
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: First off, thx for coming today...before we dig into today's agenda [(http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda),] a couple of quick announcements...
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: Pastrami Linden held a very thorough (and lengthy!) office hours last week!
- [15:04] Gellan Glenelg: there's a workaround, squirrel - for when it happens again ....
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: [1]
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: transcript: [2]
- [15:04] Chaos Markstein: that i sadley missed because i was @ work :(
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: Welcome Soap, Bambers
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: Torley's video tutorial on Graphics prefs: [3]
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: Some of that info might help ya out Chaos!
- [15:04] Bambers Linden: hi Bridie
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: Just a couple of more announcements...
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Also we're aware of some of the issues with the latest RC (1.20 RC1) and we're working on them. We're hoping to have a new Linux viewer available today and the fix for the Korean, Japanese and German viewer will be in RC2. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: [4]
- [15:05] Mastorian Kingsford: they still seem to not say whats causing the weird white band on midnight setings in viewer on my setup all skys fine except 1 min at sinset and sunrise i get crazy colors and at midnit i get a white band on horizon
- [15:05] Squirrel Wood: I prefer the english viewer over the german one
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: To revert to the English version of 1.20 RC1, you can delete the malformed file in the language folder .\ko, \ja, or .\de as appropriate: ..\skins\xui\de\panel_speaker_controls.xml ..\skins\xui\ja\panel_speaker_controls.xml ..\skins\xui\ko\panel_speaker_controls.xml
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Linux users are encouraged not to upgrade at this time. In order to prevent the viewer from forcing you to download an update, open gridargs.dat in a text editor and edit the text that reads: secondlife --channel "Second Life Release Candidate" so that it reads: secondlife --channel "skipRC1"
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: and...
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: If there are items you'd like to discuss that are *not* on the agenda (or far down on the agenda), please let me know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
- [15:06] Chaos Markstein: there is a bug where the selection lines seem to move before the 3D is updated
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: [5]
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: But remember that the agenda is on the wiki, so things can be added in advance.
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: wipes brow (again)
- [15:06] Alexa Linden: :)
- [15:06] Soap Clawtooth: chuckle
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: All good?
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: WElcome Aric!
- [15:07] Soap Clawtooth: yup.
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Shall we dive in then?
- [15:07] Alexa Linden: yup
- [15:07] Aric Linden: thank you bridie
- [15:07] Aric Linden: hands bridie an apple
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: ty
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Ok, first up
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: VWR-6350[c
- [15:07] Squirrel Wood: GIR! GIR! Unleash the Monkey!
- [15:07] Squirrel Wood: MONKEY!
- [15:08] Squirrel Wood: eep :p
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Annoying 'flycam' text...I don't think that's be design...
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Import?
- [15:09] Aric Linden: yes. rX
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:09] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: welcome folks, we just started our triage
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: [6]
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: next one warrants some discussion...
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: VWR-6399[c
- [15:09] Keisha Ninetails: isn't it there as an indicator that someone is in flycam mode?
- [15:10] Gellan Glenelg: From LSL Wiki: "llMapDestination...Opens world map centered on simname with pos highlighted." It's been changed so it no longer does that, so IMO it breaks existing content
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: so the change was: * llMapDestination() can be used to open place dialog to teleport user without opening map
- [15:11] Xugu Madison: IMHO it should be a different call for opening teleport dialog instead of map
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Qarl Linden is aware of the comments (he made the change)
- [15:11] Gellan Glenelg: it no longer displays the map unless you press the "show on map" button too
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Xugu that's what Ethari said too
- [15:11] Gellan Glenelg: agreed Xugu... llTeleportDeistination?
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Other folks like the change
- [15:11] Gellan Glenelg: typo
- [15:11] Xugu Madison: Gellan, sounds good
- [15:12] Xugu Madison: Bridie; I think it's a good feature to have, just not sure changing an existing function to do it is the right solution
- [15:12] Xugu Madison: (actually, I think it's a fantastic feature to have)
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: do most folks like the idea of a different function?
- [15:12] Gellan Glenelg: but that will likely cause problems - since LSL is frozen (for MONO) atm
- [15:12] Gellan Glenelg: i do
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: looks @ aric
- [15:13] Xugu Madison: Mono can't be too much further off, though, can it?
- [15:13] Aric Linden: visualize wait cursor please i'm processing
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: hmms...then add an option?
- [15:13] Aric Linden: reading it all
- [15:14] Squirrel Wood: Mono is still a bit off as Vektor Linden found another crash bug methinks
- [15:14] Gellan Glenelg: I use llMapDestination solely to show me a map of where something is - not because I want to TP there... so I'd likem to still be able to do that, without extra click each time
- [15:14] Aric Linden: here's my suggestion - import and assign to RX, at the same time, encourage residents to comment in the pjira
- [15:14] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:14] Aric Linden: glances at squirrel - you have great inside ears
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: ok
- [15:15] Xugu Madison: For the newbie; "RX"?
- [15:15] Gellan Glenelg: resident eXperience
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: next up
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: # VWR-5948[c
- [15:15] Squirrel Wood: OS? drivers?
- [15:15] Soap Clawtooth: Is that in a mac or a pc?
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: need me to ask?
- [15:16] Candy Kew: commador V64
- [15:16] Candy Kew: lol
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: wow
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: "Thank you Kettu - confirmed that RC 1.20 with AntiAliasing turned to 16x solves the transparent avatar issue. "
- [15:16] Squirrel Wood: and lags the client to death :p
- [15:16] Aric Linden: Jamz Dench is still suffering
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: sees that
- [15:17] Aric Linden: I think this has pastrami written all over it
- [15:17] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [15:17] Alexa Linden: noted
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: Yup, maybe also post links to Pastrami's office hours
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: and Torley's vid
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: VWR-6278[c
- [15:17] Candy Kew: torley is the man
- [15:17] Gellan Glenelg: One-click sit is useful. Removing it breaks existing content. From a furniture store's notecard: "Our chairs, sofas, chaises, ottomans etc. all feature the ONE-CLICK-SIT function. This allows you to sit down with a SINGLE LEFT-CLICK, instead of going thru the pie-menu. Another advantage is that you don't have to STAND UP first if you want to change the seat. Simply click on another piece of furniture and you will find yourself in a new comfy pose faster than you can say "I think I have to move over THERE for now..."
- [15:18] Aric Linden: I haven't seen this
- [15:18] Candy Kew: did you guys ever see his mucis videos
- [15:18] Aric Linden: there's still one click sitting
- [15:18] Candy Kew: hes nuts
- [15:18] Gellan Glenelg: but if you are ALREADY sitting, it no longer works
- [15:18] Gellan Glenelg: try switching seats
- [15:19] Simon Kline: you're right Gellan, i have found this also
- [15:19] Aric Linden: nah
- [15:19] Aric Linden: just worked fine for me
- [15:19] Al Sonic: switches seats.
- [15:19] Al Sonic: What's the problem here again?
- [15:19] Soap Clawtooth: The trouble with one-click sit (for me) is that the 'sit' function applied to the cursor remains even after you've finished sitting in some cases (same with buy) I have to click out of the client and back in again to get rid of it
- [15:19] Garn Conover: nutcase is beside the nut eater :)
- [15:19] Gellan Glenelg: which client, aric?
- [15:19] Squirrel Wood: hehe
- [15:19] Aric Linden: current rc
- [15:19] Gellan Glenelg: hmmm
- [15:19] Gellan Glenelg: doesn't work for me
- [15:20] Aric Linden: windows xp
- [15:20] Keisha Ninetails: Aric, are you doing one click or are you right clicking then pie menuing?
- [15:20] Gellan Glenelg: ditto
- [15:20] Keisha Ninetails: because, that table isn't set up for one click sitting
- [15:20] Al Sonic: Er, you mean the 'sit' cursor stays?
- [15:20] Aric Linden: right click then pie
- [15:20] Gellan Glenelg: try left clicking on aa second seat - that's what changed
- [15:20] Soap Clawtooth: Yes, al.
- [15:21] Aric Linden: ahh yeah
- [15:21] Aric Linden: that's not working
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:21] Aric Linden: but I always hated that
- [15:21] Aric Linden: one of teh sukiest features evah
- [15:21] Sonic Screwdriver: RCS Compatible Fixed whispers: Use Mouselook (press 'M') to shoot me.
- [15:21] Sonic Screwdriver: RCS Compatible Fixed whispers: Choose 'Detach' from my menu to take me off.
- [15:21] Aric Linden: grins
- [15:22] Aric Linden: import and pass to triage
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: well the internal issue works as described (one click isn't available if you're seated)
- [15:22] Al Sonic: At most I may have had to hover the cursor over something for a bit while I wait a second for it to visually return to normal.
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: but let's do as Aric suggested, import and take to triage
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: back sorry
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: importing?
- [15:23] Soap Clawtooth: wb
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: 6248?
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: 6278
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: got it
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: thank you
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: all caught up
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: but only 11 votes to add it back...
- [15:24] Keisha Ninetails: how many votes where there to have it originaly removed?
- [15:24] Al Sonic: (er, something = anything without some one-click action feature.)
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: good question keisha
- [15:24] Squirrel Wood: files an AR on the griefer cubes...
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: Next up VWR-6262[c
- [15:25] Soap Clawtooth: Personally, i do not see a problem here.
- [15:25] Mastorian Kingsford: i agree very hard on eyes
- [15:25] Bridie Linden: Well, please add your comments to this one...
- [15:25] Keisha Ninetails: that's two issues in one, one issue for the transparency and one for the darkness of the chat windows
- [15:26] Garn Conover: i got the retro version and its somewhat better i think *shrugs*
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: We can import and have rX take a look
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: this is being worked on as we speak
- [15:26] Soap Clawtooth: I agree wth garn. Though i think it should have a UI overlay to adjust contrast and colour to taste, also.
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: I will tie this to the other issue listed down further
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: thx alexa
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: next up
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: sorry - trying to clean up griefer stuff and keep up with you all :P
- [15:26] Bridie Linden: VWR-6274[c
- [15:27] Soap Clawtooth: For me, textures flicker constantly.
- [15:27] Squirrel Wood: I get the occassional flicker
- [15:27] Mastorian Kingsford: the way it transparents every time you do action in invintory is a pain i would like the option to stop that and maybe a way to adjust the bacound color
- [15:27] Garn Conover: Alexa as long as u dont return anything needed i nthe process :D i hate doing that
- [15:27] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: I've noticed some occasional flicker too...
- [15:27] Alexa Linden: me too
- [15:28] Soap Clawtooth: Its worse on mac, i reported it in VWR-5823
- [15:28] Garn Conover: or using alt to change camera and throw floor across the room :D
- [15:28] Soap Clawtooth: Effects terrain and objects with shiny or bump.
- [15:28] Garn Conover: hrrrm i havent noticed flickering i don thinkl
- [15:28] Bridie Linden: Does this seem new to 1.20?
- [15:28] Keisha Ninetails: yes
- [15:28] Soap Clawtooth: I've had it since 1.19.1.2
- [15:28] Bridie Linden: For me, it seems new
- [15:28] Soap Clawtooth: (i think)
- [15:29] Al Sonic: logs off to try the RC again... but it's pretty crashy...
- [15:29] Aric Linden: I see it once in a long while
- [15:29] Keisha Ninetails: can't solid repro it though
- [15:29] Orion Shamroy: I've always noticed a flicker but only when the prim is set to the minimum width and placed against another.
- [15:29] Bambers Linden: I've never observed this
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: Aric do you think that there's enough to go on?
- [15:30] Xugu Madison: I've seen what might be this on water at the edge of island, on a MacBook Pro and Mac Pro
- [15:30] Aric Linden: no, not really
- [15:30] Object does: not appear to be for sale.
- [15:30] Soap Clawtooth: I can give you a list of related issues, Aric, fron jira
- [15:30] Soap Clawtooth: from*
- [15:30] Soap Clawtooth: Perhaps the information from those will be of help.
- [15:30] Bridie Linden: I'll add myself as a watcher and see if we can collect any good repros
- [15:31] Bambers Linden: could it be gfx settings higher than recommended?
- [15:31] Aric Linden: please add them to the jira Soap
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: (I'll try myself too!)
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: thx Soap
- [15:31] Soap Clawtooth: np.
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: VWR-5396[c
- [15:31] Bambers Linden: starts to stare at the walls - go on, flicker! I dare you!
- [15:32] Aric Linden: I think this was addressed
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: Easy Bambers, easy!
- [15:32] Soap Clawtooth: looks at the flickering walls.
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: dupe Aric?
- [15:32] Bambers Linden: ;)
- [15:32] Aric Linden: I think we should check 1.20 release notes
- [15:32] Aric Linden: I *think* that's when it was fixed
- [15:32] Keisha Ninetails: is that on objects with fullbright also set or all objects whether FB is set or not?
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: ok, i'll check into this one later
- [15:33] Mastorian Kingsford: gave you Snapshot : LindenVillage - Bridie Linden, Levenhall (138, 37, 3.
- [15:33] Aric Linden: thanks
- [15:33] Mastorian Kingsford: thats better back to normal view
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: next one...
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: hmmm
- [15:34] Bridie Linden: VWR-6425[c
- [15:34] Gellan Glenelg: is that only 1.20?
- [15:34] Al Sonic: Gah, subjectivity.
- [15:34] Aric Linden: Pastrami, pastrami, pastrami, pastrami
- [15:35] Soap Clawtooth: I've never seen this, everything looked the same when i first started using windlight.
- [15:35] Soap Clawtooth: and no problems from dazzle either.
- [15:35] Alexa Linden: and there are is a feature request that asks that the default can be re-set to a custom choice
- [15:35] Xugu Madison: Not really noticed, low priority anyway
- [15:35] Candy Kew: what would be default mine sets it self at high
- [15:35] Aric Linden: I think this was a big topic in the windlight team for a while
- [15:35] Bambers Linden: no screenshot? aw.
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: shall we change priority here to 'small'?
- [15:36] Soap Clawtooth: I think most of it is conflict between the way people built stuff in the old client and the way windlight renders things?
- [15:36] Garn Conover: ive neveer touched WL settings and everythings looks fine to me, screenshot would help a lot
- [15:36] Alexa Linden: mine is really bright
- [15:36] Xugu Madison: 'small' sounds good to me
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: And direct folks to VWR-6543
- [15:37] Garn Conover: hey Bridie check the profile lol
- [15:37] Gellan Glenelg: take a look at the link in desciption - several pictures there
- [15:37] Gellan Glenelg: [7]
- [15:37] Garn Conover: 3rd line - Anti Windlight - Fix the Avatar Shadowing! lol
- [15:37] Mastorian Kingsford: i see a white 1 inch 360 on horican white band at midnight setings and clor distorted on at the point sun set /sunrise kicks in
- [15:37] Mastorian Kingsford: typos
- [15:38] Mastorian Kingsford: horizon
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: looks
- [15:39] Aric Linden: you know, I'm seeing flickers
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:39] Orion Shamroy: Mastorian, I get something similar to that during the dawn and dusk phases. Whatever the sun shines on seems to go almost completely white. Although that could be something else.
- [15:39] Al Sonic: He's not the only one who's reported a new band across the midnight sky... but whatever I do I can't reproduce it.
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: I'm noticing flickers when i am moving back and forth between apps
- [15:40] Mastorian Kingsford: yeah thats same times just we are wording it differnt
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: next on the agenda...
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: VWR-6402[c
- [15:40] Aric Linden: being fixed
- [15:40] Soap Clawtooth: rotation is a pain at the moment.
- [15:41] Soap Clawtooth: Being rather dodgy - wont work in OIP or HIP, but will work everywhere else. (for me)
- [15:41] Alexa Linden: yup :(
- [15:41] Aric Linden: nods at Soap - we know and sympathize
- [15:41] Bridie Linden: I'll look for internal issue, Aric?
- [15:41] Soap Clawtooth: chuckle.
- [15:41] Mastorian Kingsford: its been in wl for months these 3 things i made a billboard went to windlight meetings and all i got was know issue and when i went to jira said was resoveld lmao
- [15:41] Soap Clawtooth: perhaps you could provide some knowledgebase data on llsetrot?
- [15:42] Aric Linden: ok bridie
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: Soap, i'll ping jeremy linden on that
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: VWR-6400[c
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: hmms
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: "And I uninstalled and downloaded the Second Life 1.19.1 (4) Apr 2 2008 11:59:37 (Second Life Release) .... And everyone is still invisible. "
- [15:43] Aric Linden: it's a card problemn
- [15:43] Soap Clawtooth: had it for a while today - happens for me when i cross region, my AV disappears, but not really often enough for it be major.
- [15:43] Aric Linden: rolls up the news paper - bad card bad card
- [15:43] Mastorian Kingsford: right now i see night sky and bottem of sky is white ban
- [15:43] Soap Clawtooth: flying 500m up fixes it for me.
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: bad card, no sarts for you!
- [15:44] Soap Clawtooth: (not that particles will still be visible)
- [15:44] Soap Clawtooth: note*
- [15:44] Garn Conover: funny pic tho
- [15:44] Aric Linden: grins at bridie
- [15:44] Bridie Linden: update drivers, see pastrami's office hours info, etc
- [15:45] Mastorian Kingsford: gave you Snapshot : LindenVillage - Bridie Linden, Levenhall (138, 37, 3.
- [15:45] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: next up
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: VWR-6368[c
- [15:45] Alexa Linden: will post
- [15:45] Soap Clawtooth: theres a few bugs risen up with the RC, actually.
