- [12:05] Ellla McMahon: hello Soft :)
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: s agenda
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: first up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9530
- [12:06] Squirrel Wood: tr00
- [12:06] Squirrel Wood: there definitely is a gap. not with all shirts but with quite many where there should be none
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: is this new?
- [12:06] Soft Linden: I think this has always been there. But it's a reasonable expectation that they should meet up
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: no version number is listed
- [12:07] Squirrel Wood: Soft, check you rshirt. there is a gap
- [12:07] Soft Linden: It's like a one texel gap in the case they mean. Not just a Linden with poor fashion sense. :)
- [12:07] Soft Linden: [1]
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [12:07] Soft Linden: The image there is a pretty good indication of what it looks like.
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: ya, and I can see on you
- [12:08] Squirrel Wood: Its more than just one textl
- [12:08] Multi Gadget: v1.54.2 by Timeless Prototype
- [12:08] Soft Linden: This may be trivially fixable. We could take it in for the maint-render guys
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: import to viewer?
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Yup!
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: next us https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5985
- [12:09] Soft Linden: Alexa, would you like me to mark these as you run? Or are ya okay doing both?
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: ya, I'll take all of these and do after the meeting
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: sorry - phone
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: bavk
- [12:10] Soft Linden: Those samples are pretty bad, but sound processed, like the submitter may have some audio driver "features" enabled
- [12:11] Soft Linden: Number of votes though. Hmm
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: has anyone here experienced this?
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: I haven't
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: nope
- [12:11] Aimee Trescothick: hmm, interesting, woo, totally clipped sample file
- [12:11] Gellan Glenelg: reported april, 1.19 RC
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: I know one of the posters and know thier machine is pretty bad
- [12:12] Gellan Glenelg: not sure the latest comment is the same thing
- [12:12] Aimee Trescothick: does it still happen when they turn the volume down in SL?
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: ya that one sounds like that problem we looked at around a month ago
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: about the sounds in items running over and over again
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: Update 21.08.08
- Since i bought a whole new computer with windows vista-32 installed, this error has gone for me, but maybe not for others, so i leave this OPEN. May someone will dig this in future.
- [12:13] Soft Linden: I'd be curious to know about more of these submitters' computes. The two listed are older class CPUs
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: ya
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:13] Soft Linden: A Pentium 4 is going to be pretty strained
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: one is a friends :P
- [12:13] Soft Linden: I think AMD K7 is around the same era?
- [12:14] Soft Linden: I'll add the ask for more system info
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9499
- [12:15] Soft Linden: I think those may be single-threaded as well
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: this and the next 2 are patches
- [12:16] Soft Linden: 9499 we can take in for Tofu - he's just added the dbus support
- [12:16] Gellan Glenelg: did you skip one?
- [12:16] Soft Linden: I'd just pass it directly to him.
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Yup. VWR-9507 - I can take that directly myself
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: ack I did
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: thanks soft :P
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9517
- [12:18] Soft Linden: Pretty straightforward for the maint-render guys to validate
- [12:18] Soft Linden: Looks right, though.
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:18] Soft Linden: import for viewer, maint-render tag
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: great :)
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-824
- [12:19] Cummere Mayo: waves to everyone
- [12:19] Aimee Trescothick: hey :)
- [12:19] Gellan Glenelg: I'm not seeing errors now ( [2] )
- [12:19] Cummere Mayo: sorry im late. crashed three times on entering sl :(
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: me neither
- [12:20] Soft Linden: Neither
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: firefox Gellan?
- [12:20] Gellan Glenelg: yeah
- [12:20] Gellan Glenelg: trying ie ....
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: jinx :)
- [12:20] Soft Linden: How about I resolve can't repro, invite a reopen if it happens again?
- [12:20] Gellan Glenelg: looks ok on ie too
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: same
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: will do soft
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-148
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: we are in the oldie zone
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: so note many of these may have been fixed long ago :P
- [12:21] Squirrel Wood: email after ticket works nowadays methinks
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: me too
- [12:22] Cummere Mayo: not always
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: since we've had this tpye of jira about 4 months ago
- [12:22] Cummere Mayo: if i submit on cummere its a 50/50 shot ill get that confirmation
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: won't work if the provided email address is faulty, nonexistent or the spam filter on the recipients side rejects it
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: mine used to go to my spam folder
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: I'll mark as needs more info and ask if it's still a problem
- [12:23] Cummere Mayo: not mine. I added in the domain into my filter. I still dont get the confirmation mail always if i tag a ticket as guest/basic using cummere.
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Makes sense. Comments are ancient.
- [12:23] Squirrel Wood: Also, like SMS and snail mail, there is no guarantee that an email will ever arrive. Its just common assumption that it must arrive.
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-144
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: like with udp packets...
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: 144.... long time...
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:24] Soft Linden: And old. I know this used to be a lot worse.
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: let me quote something I received when purchasing stuff from another shop:
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: Due to the enormous amount of fraudulant orders (65% of our orders
- are using stolen creditcards) we have no other option than processing
- the orders manually (during European office hours).
- Please accept our appology and we will do our best to get the
- regcodes to you as soon as possible.
- [12:25] Soft Linden: It used to be one charge in 3, my bank held the charge even with a domestic bank.
- [12:25] Squirrel Wood: so I would assume verification takes time.
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: I'll make a comment on this
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: since more often, it's not on our side that the delays are happening
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: it's more about the bank's processes
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-136
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: old but with new comments
- [12:26] Cummere Mayo: i'd tell them to grow up. I dotn knwo a single company that guarantess 24 hour or less validation
- [12:26] Soft Linden: This one seems a no-brainer, should do. Estate "sales" aren't sales by any reasonable definition.
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: I agree
- [12:27] Soft Linden: This should get a peer issue for Rx to consider changing that in the viewer, too.
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: very confusing for a new resident
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: importing and sending to Rx
- [12:27] Soft Linden: Well, I'd send this one to the web team, and make another for Rx triage with the viewer component
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6220
- [12:28] Gellan Glenelg: 1.19
- [12:28] Squirrel Wood: old?
- [12:28] Squirrel Wood: nmi? still happening?
- [12:28] Squirrel Wood: try with latest rc ?
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: yes for both
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9345
- [12:29] Cummere Mayo: this is a dupe
- [12:29] Cummere Mayo: we've seen this in other ones on both monday and wednessday sessions
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: care to look up a dup Cummere?
- [12:30] Cummere Mayo: sure give me a minute
- [12:30] Soft Linden: Yup, exact dupe of the related issue
- [12:31] Soft Linden: Related issue has a more useful writeup - I'd import the realted if it's still happening
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:31] Soft Linden: The dupe is 1.21, the original is 1.20 - so it needs the extra affects version
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9344
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:31] Squirrel Wood: 9344 - user likely tried to equip griefer toys
- [12:32] Soft Linden: Contact support.
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-636
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:33] Soft Linden: Here, I'd needs-more-info, asking for links to events currently listed.
- [12:33] Soft Linden: There's not a lot we could do otherwise, I think?
- [12:33] Q Linden: "both events were called party time"
- [12:33] Gellan Glenelg: is this web? or viewer map?
- [12:33] Q Linden: searchign events finds one
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: april 2008
- [12:33] Cummere Mayo: *blinks* ok later i have a few more to link to the other one but since soft beat me Ill do it later
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: yay for borken group chat
- [12:34] Soft Linden: Sorry, Cummere - are you saying you have events like that right now?
- [12:35] Cummere Mayo: no
- [12:35] Cummere Mayo: i meant abotu the crashlogger asking twice
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6913
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Gotcha :)
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: april/may 2008
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: NMI - Still a problem?
- [12:37] Ellla McMahon: I think it is Alexa, there are a few similar issues .. Tofu is sorting out Linux audio, he has commented on some issues
- [12:37] Soft Linden: Ahhh... this one's tough. It could fall out of Tofu's current openal port work. We're basically putting a new audio engine in for Linux and I think that's got a pulse back end.
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: I can ping him on this
- [12:38] Soft Linden: But this duplicates VWR-6593 - the related issue
- [12:38] Soft Linden: And the other is imported already
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: ok - I'll close and dup and ask that any comments be posted there
- [12:38] Soft Linden: And already assigned to Tofu internally
- [12:38] Soft Linden: Yup :)
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6848
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: this is a joystick issue
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: and have been tied to the meta issue
- [12:39] Aimee Trescothick: hmm, feels like a dupe ...
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: ya, so I'm going to skip this one
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: and try to tie it to one of the other issues
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-1360
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: this is a dup too
- [12:40] Soft Linden: VWR-6848 duplicates VWR-7218
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: thanks soft :)
- [12:41] Cummere Mayo: alexa on the joystick one you might have them check to see if their os can give certain devices priority
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: I'm pretty sure this one has been posted before
- [12:42] Aimee Trescothick: or swap the devices over on which USB ports they're plugged in
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5626
- [12:42] Aimee Trescothick: that's a preference?
- [12:42] Aimee Trescothick: show IM in chat history?
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:43] Gellan Glenelg: MISC-1360: dupe of SVC-2611?
- [12:43] Aimee Trescothick: ah
- [12:43] Aimee Trescothick: hmm, says the pref is off
- [12:43] Cummere Mayo: have them try reinstalling
- [12:43] Soft Linden: So VWR-5626 is normal if the near-me tab is not open. We're in the middle of taking in an open source patch that adds the option to suppress IMs from chat history.
- [12:44] Cummere Mayo: and completely erasing all the cache files manually
- [12:44] Soft Linden: I'll find that one, and we can resolve it as a dupe of that
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: thanks Soft
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7963
- [12:44] Soft Linden: VWR-5626 can be marked a dupe of VWR-3060
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:45] Cummere Mayo: smacks head. 7963 is a dupe, and unless somethign changed int he last two months, multiple instances of viewer arent supported
- [12:45] Gellan Glenelg: isn't it already marked dupe the other way round?
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: single instances of viewers also lead to crashes. mayhaps slightly less often, but still :p
- [12:46] Gellan Glenelg: wrong number - sorry
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: pokes Squirrel
- [12:46] Gellan Glenelg: ignore me :)
- [12:46] Soft Linden: smartaleck >:(
- [12:46] Cummere Mayo: besides this one was triaged ALLONg time ago and no new info given
- [12:46] Aimee Trescothick: twice as many viewers, ^2 the number of crashes
- [12:46] Cummere Mayo: I vote close and resolve as wont fix
- [12:47] Soft Linden: Also ask for them to include the KB link they're using if they reopen. We can make sure it's not missing something. I only know of the wiki doc.
- [12:47] Soft Linden: Ultimately though - yeah - not supported
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1978
- [12:48] Soft Linden: Needs more info - they need to provide a slurl to the swing or send a Linden a copy
- [12:48] Aimee Trescothick: [3] I guess
- [12:49] Cummere Mayo: um hmmm svc-1978 probably tied to the svc-2708 alexa.....
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7495
- [12:50] Soft Linden: I'd NMI - ask if it's still happening, and ask to include repro steps including their script
- [12:50] Cummere Mayo: it seems that all physic's realted calculations have been very slow to process (siomething found when investigation itno 2708 began being really looked at)
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: and then we have https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5175
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: I'll take this one :P
- [12:51] Soft Linden: Alexa: VWR-7495 can be linked as a dupe of VWR-2060
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: thanks will do
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: just a couple more beauties
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4527
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: 1.18
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: I'll take this one too :P
- [12:52] Squirrel Wood: needs proper fuel
- [12:52] Cummere Mayo: nmi >< is it still occuring?
- [12:52] Soft Linden: :)
- [12:53] Cummere Mayo: and have they tired any of the many many better versions of sl
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1116
- [12:53] Cummere Mayo: lol
- [12:53] Squirrel Wood: requires gasoline. not sand or mud. ^^
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Would ask if this is still happening, yeah.
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: that works for this one too Squirrel
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Dec '07!
- [12:53] Aimee Trescothick: lol
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: and with that
- [12:53] Aimee Trescothick: contact the garage
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I'm going to call us done for the day!
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: :D
- [12:53] Soft Linden: w00t!
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I can do the cleanup on the next few
- [12:54] Squirrel Wood: ah. mouselook... that used to be a bug with h4
- [12:54] Cummere Mayo: nice *holds a carrot out in front of her*
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: you all rock and thanks for all your help!
- [12:54] Squirrel Wood: long fixed though
- [12:54] Squirrel Wood: ^^
- [12:54] Aimee Trescothick: yeah, contact the maker francis chung if it's still happening
- [12:54] Ellla McMahon: Soft/Alexa. with Windows Update auto updating Nvidia drivers we are seeing LOADS of 177/178 issues .. how do you want them marked if the reporter doesn;t actually say which driver they are using
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: I'll see some of you Wednesday at Bridie's triage
