- [12:02] Kona Linden: g'day folks!
- [12:02] Prospero Linden: thx
- [12:02] Squirrel Wood: points out that VWR-11434 is indeed broken, repros 100% of the time on this cube thing in the center.
- [12:02] Moon Metty: hi Kona :)
- [12:03] Harleen Gretzky: Hi Kona and Prospero
- [12:03] Kona Linden: hiya, Moon
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: Kona, refresh the page if you already have it open
- [12:03] Moon Metty: oh i tried VWR-11434
- [12:03] Squirrel Wood: on rc5
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: some changes just went through
- [12:03] Moon Metty: only a sphere does not have the problem
- [12:03] Kona Linden: kk, Alexa
- [12:03] Gordon Wendt: I'm hoping that fast track SVC-3306 was fixed but never changed to reflect it
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: you driving or you want me to Kona?
- [12:04] Kona Linden: Alexa, please drive =)
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: put on your seatbelts all
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: we're about to take off....
- [12:04] Moon Metty: :p
- [12:04] Kona Linden: Safety helmet on
- [12:04] Aimee Trescothick: unfolds her wings for takeoff
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: ya.. good idea
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: coming around the first corner we have https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3306
- [12:05] Gordon Wendt: an older issue but a clear repro and no sign of a fix
- [12:06] Gordon Wendt: unless there was an undocumented change in 1.25
- [12:06] Gordon Wendt: 1.24.9 rather
- [12:06] Gordon Wendt: and 1.25.3 since the notes for that don't say anything about a change for this either
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: how about QA to test?
- [12:08] A: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:08] Prospero Linden: Gordon : to my knowledge it's not fixed in1 .25.3
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: and update documentation if needed
- [12:08] Prospero Linden: That could be verified quickly on aditi, of course....
- [12:08] B: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: what sayest you?
- [12:09] Gordon Wendt: works for me
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: Let's import with a note that it needs to be checked with 1.25.3 on aditi, and closed if it doesn't repro there, otherwise needs to be fixed
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: Gordon : "works" = ?
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: ok will do
- [12:09] Kona Linden: +1
- [12:10] Gordon Wendt: hmm, doesn't seem to repro for me
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2549
- [12:10] Gordon Wendt: **Expected behaviour: It says nothing (collision not beeing triggered) **Observed: It says something (collision beeing triggered)
- [12:10] Gordon Wendt: so yeah just ask them to attempt to repro I guess would work
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: if there's no handler in the child prim its passed on but ignores that setting...
- [12:11] Squirrel Wood: or its script based?
- [12:11] Harleen Gretzky: There is a collision event in the child
- [12:12] Prospero Linden: Gordon, you're still talkinb about 3306, yes?
- [12:12] Gordon Wendt: yes I was
- [12:12] Gordon Wendt: I'm just going to be quiet on SVC-2549 since I don't know enough about change scale
- [12:13] Kona Linden: =)
- [12:13] Prospero Linden: thinks that SVC-2549 should be imported if it still repros
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:13] Gordon Wendt: I think I broke squirrels touch test box
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3618
- [12:14] Prospero Linden: But
- [12:14] Prospero Linden: I'm not completely sure... may be complicated....
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: ouch
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: this would be a pain
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: though very easy to test
- [12:15] Prospero Linden: I am not sure what's SUPPOSED to happen
- [12:15] Squirrel Wood: you can repro by clicking the cut surfaces while the next surface behind them is the hollow one
- [12:15] Squirrel Wood: the red box moves to the hollow texture instead of to the clicked point on the cut one
- [12:16] Gordon Wendt: ok, where are we now?
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3618
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: though it behaves correctly on the cut surfaces if there is no hollow surface behind them
- [12:16] Gellan Glenelg: squirrel, aren't we on "Estate Managers are unable to freeze / eject persons"?
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: could be
- [12:16] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, seems like a simple case of something small bugging out in the last roll and taking a chunk of the estate admin privs with it
- [12:16] Moon Metty: the estate manager banned me once from the region by mistake, but i wan't ejected
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: but yes. I have seen freeze fail
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: ya, I have too
- [12:17] Kona Linden: I've seen this issue being brought up time to time
- [12:17] Gordon Wendt: Moon, there's a seperate issue for that that we've covered a couple of times, I think they may have fixed it or are in the process of
- [12:17] Moon Metty: he also started returning my objects, and they went to the folder from where they were rezzed
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: but not total repeated failure of this
- [12:17] Harleen Gretzky: It only work if you have group abilities to freeze on group land
- [12:17] Harleen Gretzky: *freeze/eject
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: good point
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: forgot about that part
- [12:18] Harleen Gretzky: It used to work if you were an estate manager regardless
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: should I ask if he is the main manager
- [12:18] Harleen Gretzky: No it does not
- [12:18] Harleen Gretzky: *Now
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: and the permissions for the group, etc?
- [12:18] Phillip Vought: the reason for allowing eject is that we can ban from the sim, but not then remove people
- [12:18] Harleen Gretzky: Group really is not relevant
- [12:18] Phillip Vought: even if I dont own any land
- [12:19] Phillip Vought: estate manager should have an override.. and always be able to ban/freeze
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:19] Harleen Gretzky: Used to be if you were an estate manager you could freeze/eject on any parcel whetehr group or individually owned
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: but not so for the group unless assigned, correct?
- [12:20] Phillip Vought: has anyone checked to see if this causes return to fail too?
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: ya, that's how I remember it too
- [12:20] Phillip Vought: yes alexa correct
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: this is all easy enough to test
- [12:20] Harleen Gretzky: Group abilities used to not matter
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: do we want to run by QA to test?
- [12:21] Kona Linden: yes please
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9763
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: we have looked at this before
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: I asked a question and we have a response
- [12:21] Kona Linden: does look familiar
- [12:21] Harleen Gretzky: last week
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: so he filed crash reports
- [12:22] Kona Linden: its hard to say because ATI is notorious for lagging a updated drivers
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: does his machine/card meet the min. system requirements?
- [12:23] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:23] Kona Linden: it's a solid hi-end card
- [12:23] Kona Linden: it's fairly new, hence I question the driver set
- [12:23] Phillip Vought: this would explain some frequent crashes I'm getting on RC
- [12:24] Harleen Gretzky: Last week we said we were going to resolve it as NMI
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: do we have that card internally for testing?
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: latest nvidia drivers were released on the 8th. don't know about ati/amd
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: ya, he did come back and answer my question
- [12:24] Kona Linden: lemme check
- [12:25] Phillip Vought: the symptoms dont seem to be card specific
- [12:25] Phillip Vought: it looks like the age old textures are hosed issue
- [12:25] Kona Linden: yeah, that particular card we don't have for testing...will make a note & see if we can get an order in on that one
- [12:25] Ellla McMahon: latest ATI drivers catalyst 8.12 opengl 2.1.8304
- [12:25] Kona Linden: Phillip, good point
- [12:26] Phillip Vought: look at the last few comments..
- [12:26] Phillip Vought: slow framerates when TPing and crashes after 30 mins
- [12:26] Phillip Vought: I get that with Nvidia
- [12:26] Ellla McMahon: but there are a few reports about the 8.12, there might be some issues there
- [12:26] Phillip Vought: please dear god get the new HTTP textures done soon
- [12:26] Kona Linden: wonder if he's connecting via wireless
- [12:27] Phillip Vought: its a desktop computer (64 bit high end video) so unlikely
- [12:27] Kona Linden: but looks like he's running a desktop
- [12:27] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:27] Phillip Vought: is there a metaissue for texture problems and low framerates?
- [12:27] Phillip Vought: if so.. tie it to this
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: I don't recall there being on Phillip
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: one*
- [12:28] Phillip Vought: time to start one.. cause I see this on completely different hardware
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: so any comments or actions you want me to take on this one?
- [12:28] Gellan Glenelg: maybe VWR-8503 - not a meta, but a general issue
- [12:29] Gellan Glenelg: correcting - it IS a meta
- [12:29] Phillip Vought: yup.. i'd tie it there
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: thanks Gellan
- [12:30] Kona Linden: feedback seems to notate improvement after updating drivers per Fazer Gynoid...
- [12:30] XL hudson: Auto Responder:--->: Hello I am not really here right now. Please send me an IM and I will respond when I get back.
- Thanks XL
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7109
- [12:31] Aimee Trescothick: I think the patch on this one is incomplete, there's another class member that's not initialized
- [12:31] Prospero Linden: add that comment please?
- [12:32] Aimee Trescothick: I have a revised patch that I'll post once I've tested it after the meeting
- [12:32] Kona Linden: Thanks AImee!
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: I can mark with a triaged date and wait for a new one?
- [12:32] Aimee Trescothick: :)
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: thanks Aimee
- [12:32] Aimee Trescothick: yep
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11434
- [12:32] Moon Metty: i reproed that on all prims except spheres
- [12:32] Squirrel Wood: Ta!
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: can you add your comments/findings?
- [12:33] Moon Metty: yes, i will
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: thanks Moon :)
- [12:33] Squirrel Wood: rc5 does it
- [12:33] Squirrel Wood: as a note
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: Kona, Import to VWR?
- [12:34] Kona Linden: yeah, I think so
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:34] Kona Linden: whatta pain for builders
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1254
- [12:34] Bridie Linden: sorry, was last one new to 1.22?
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: this is as old as I can remember :p
- [12:35] Prospero Linden: woahs at SVC-1254
- [12:35] Gellan Glenelg: I think so, bridie
- [12:35] Prospero Linden: server versino 1.18
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: 1.18.6 Server
- [12:35] Prospero Linden: Is this more than "region crossings suck", or is this a specific bug?
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: this has to be some kind of repeat
- [12:35] Gellan Glenelg: NMI / Is this still an issue?
- [12:35] Phillip Vought: this should be improved with the new network
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: this can be after TPing
- [12:35] Kona Linden: gah, ATI 9600
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: from sitting on an object
- [12:36] Kona Linden: we're not supporting those cards anymore as I understand it...
- [12:36] Kona Linden: neither is ATI for that matter
- [12:36] Prospero Linden: Phillip : marginally, anyway. But if you cross a region and have to serialize a whole bunch of junk, it make server crossing bad
- [12:36] Prospero Linden: Kona : video card shouldn't matter for this issue though; region crossing sadness is server-side
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: ya, I'll mark as NMI and ask the usual questions
- [12:36] Phillip Vought: Prospero.. I know.. your talking to someone with an obscene ARC :)
- [12:36] Gordon Wendt: Prospero, if it corrects himself then it's just region comms lag which is usual, if he's stuck stuck there until relog which is what he says then that looks like a more serious issue
- [12:37] Harleen Gretzky: and this is vehucle region crossing also
- [12:37] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, hey don't know that, 0.0.0 is peaceful after tping
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:37] Gordon Wendt: err don't knock that
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: I still find myself at 0,0,0 after random tps
- [12:37] Phillip Vought: if this was a huge issue the sailing groups would be having a fit
- [12:38] Gordon Wendt: wait for more votes?
- [12:38] Squirrel Wood: you can also find yourself at 0,0,0 sometimes when you sit down
- [12:38] Gellan Glenelg: after a year??
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: I'll mark with triaged
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: ask the normal questions
- [12:38] Prospero Linden: Yeah, this is ancient
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: and see if I can link to a dup
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: which we know is out there somewhere :P
- [12:38] Kona Linden: Prospero, that's true, but a sucky old graphic card would definitely make region crossing at the very least "appear" worse in performance
- [12:38] Gordon Wendt: Squirrel, sitting down, teleporting, moving, setting a prim that you're sitting on to physical.....
- [12:39] Moon Metty: when you sit down you also end up at double coordinates, sometimes
- [12:39] Prospero Linden: Moon : I've seen that happen when the viewer is on a connectino with a lot of packet loss
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6947
- [12:39] Moon Metty: yes Prospero :)
- [12:39] Aimee Trescothick: can't repro
- [12:39] Prospero Linden: VWR-6947 : that's reported for a deprecated viewer (1.19), and when I last tried it on my mac with 1.21 or 1.22, there was no problem
- [12:39] Prospero Linden: yeah, can't repro
- [12:39] Aimee Trescothick: works fine on my Mac
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: try with latest RC comment?
- [12:40] Aimee Trescothick: and worked fine in 1.19.1.4 lol
- [12:40] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3364
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ouch
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: oldieville
- [12:41] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:41] Prospero Linden: doesn't undersatnd why this is a bug
- [12:41] Gellan Glenelg: bug or feature request?
- [12:41] Kona Linden: fr
- [12:41] Aimee Trescothick: and it is a feature request
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: fr
- [12:41] Phillip Vought: well I'd like to see whats there work before its changed :)
- [12:42] Phillip Vought: agent updates/sec has been busted forever
- [12:42] Phillip Vought: and it plain doesnt work on voids
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: do we agree that it should be a FR?
- [12:42] Prospero Linden: yes
- [12:42] Phillip Vought: ya
- [12:43] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:43] Harleen Gretzky: yes
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: ok, I will move it
- [12:43] Gordon Wendt: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3363 is the next one on the list and is another statistics window
- [12:43] Harleen Gretzky: same OP
- [12:43] Prospero Linden: Is this still true?
- [12:43] Prospero Linden: Reported for an ancient viewer
- [12:43] Gellan Glenelg: old, and doesn't repro on 1.22.6
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: the 2nd one Gellan?
- [12:43] Gellan Glenelg: 3363
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: so that can be resolved - can't repro
- [12:44] Moon Metty: i can see it update
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: ?
- [12:44] Kona Linden: can't repro, NMI
- [12:44] Harleen Gretzky: Updates for me also on 1.21.6
- [12:44] Phillip Vought: works for me on RC5
- [12:44] Gellan Glenelg: correct - can't repro on latest viewer - so it either was never a bug, or got fixed already
- [12:45] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: ok so 3364 is a FR and 3363 is can't repro
- [12:45] Gellan Glenelg: yep
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: thanks :)
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7721
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: old
- [12:45] Gordon Wendt: dupe?
- [12:45] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: and a repeat
- [12:46] Gordon Wendt: dupe of that one about randomly falling through floors that we keep seeing but can never get a solid repro for
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: I'll take care of that one
- [12:46] Ellla McMahon: is [1] the same too ?
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: ya... this was the prim vs - mega prim questions
- [12:46] Kona Linden: ahhh
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: ya and that's a dup too
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: I'll tie all of these together
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7090
- [12:47] Aimee Trescothick: *votes*
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: I do agree that's it's very helpful to new residents
- [12:48] Moon Metty: yes, that's true Alexa
- [12:48] Gordon Wendt: I am so f**** sick and tired of people saying it's a bug because it's "illogical"
- [12:48] Moon Metty: i know how to turn them off
- [12:49] Gordon Wendt: it's a feature request
- [12:49] Gordon Wendt: but I do agree that they should default to on
- [12:49] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: ya, I will more to FR
- [12:49] Kona Linden: +1
- [12:49] Gellan Glenelg: I agree they should default to on, but not so sure about "FULL" (tips on all objects)
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: and I do think this is worth importing as for the resident experience part
- [12:50] Kona Linden: +1
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: since the whole popping your window open with transactions is a default on
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: helping them find things they just purchased
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: and easily turned off
- [12:51] Moon Metty: yup
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3318
- [12:51] Gordon Wendt: FR
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: Linden trees move too fast in wind on faster computer
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:51] Kona Linden: hehehe
- [12:51] Moon Metty: :)
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: slow down!!!
- [12:51] Kona Linden: and INDOORS too
- [12:51] Gordon Wendt: change priority to small and change to FR?
- [12:51] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:51] Moon Metty: do they burn faster too?
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: with no wind!!
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: ya, FR it is
- [12:51] Aimee Trescothick: it's cos faster computers have bigger fans
- [12:51] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: ahhhh now see
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: that makes sense ;)
- [12:52] Kona Linden: bigger dust bunnies in the computer
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1381
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: NMI
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: no response to my old question
- [12:53] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:53] Kona Linden: pass
- [12:53] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1212
- [12:53] Aimee Trescothick: suggests everyone tries to repro so I can take a picture lol
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: ditto again
- [12:53] Gordon Wendt: contact support?
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5889
- [12:54] Phillip Vought: interestingly dataserver issues can cause this
- [12:54] Phillip Vought: had the same problem on my sim.. troubleshot it and found that there was a script with a blocking lock on my AV key
- [12:54] Gordon Wendt: would that be qeued in the sim or higher up?
- [12:54] Gordon Wendt: queued rather
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: are you talking about 5889?
- [12:55] Bridie Linden: afk
- [12:55] Gordon Wendt: yes
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:55] Phillip Vought: i was talking to 1212
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:56] Gordon Wendt: damn, I have to go to get to work on time, see you all later
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: Bye Gordon and thanks!
- [12:56] Moon Metty: bye Gordon
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: so back to 5889
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5889
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: ask if it's still a proble,?
- [12:56] Kona Linden: bye Gordon
- [12:56] Harleen Gretzky: This was fixed a while ago wasn't it?
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: ya, I thought so
- [12:57] Harleen Gretzky: It is a dupe also
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: and last one for the day is....
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6417
- [12:57] Aimee Trescothick: hmm, fairly sure that's a dupe
- [12:58] Gellan Glenelg: 1.19 again
- [12:58] Prospero Linden: needs to head out
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: Bye prospero :)
- [12:58] Moon Metty: see you tomorrow Prospero
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: I'll look for a dup and ask if it's still a problem in the mean time
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: and that's it for today!
- [12:59] Phillip Vought: ")
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: thank you all for coming and helping out :)
- [12:59] Phillip Vought: Back to the work they pay me for ;)
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: I'll get these all updated
- [12:59] XLR8RRICK Hudson: thanks for letting me listen in
- [12:59] XLR8RRICK Hudson: Bye
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: LOL Phillip!
- [12:59] Harleen Gretzky: Bye all!
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: you're wecome to join us anytime :)
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: bye all!
- [13:00] Moon Metty: thank you Alexa
- [13:00] XLR8RRICK Hudson: I want to learn how to help
- [13:00] Moon Metty: see you soon
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: this is a great place to start XLR8
