- [11:56] Alexa Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda
- [11:56] Moon Metty: is it like bingo?
- [11:56] Alexa Linden: sure
- [11:57] Alexa Linden: but we're playing blackout for the first round
- [11:57] Alexa Linden: first up - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11780
- [11:57] Squirrel Wood: I commented on MISC-2269 how it is not a bug.
- [11:57] Squirrel Wood: /ao off
- [11:58] Squirrel Wood: texture memory below 128 makes SL very unhappy. It likes to look quite bad in such cases
- [11:58] Alexa Linden: ya, I don't think this is a bug
- [11:58] Alexa Linden: more of a FR?
- [11:58] Alexa Linden: if anything
- [11:58] Prospero Linden: What do our system requirements state nowadays?
- [11:58] Prospero Linden: Do we list 128MB as min graphics memory?
- [11:58] Moon Metty: is the lower limit new?
- [11:59] Prospero Linden: I know in ages past you could set the graphics memory as low as 32MB in the client
- [11:59] Prospero Linden: Because I have a machine with 16MB of graphics RAM that I sometimes log into SL with :) I get 2fps on a good day
- [11:59] Moon Metty: hmmm
- [11:59] Henri Beauchamp: Yep, I did run SL on old ATI with only 64Mb...
- [11:59] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: hi amimee, please join us
- [11:59] Alexa Linden: Hi Aimee :)
- [11:59] Aimee Trescothick: lo :)
- [11:59] Prospero Linden: If our minimum systme requirements say 128MB of graphics RAM, then I think we're OK leaving that as the minimum slider
- [11:59] Prospero Linden: If they don't, we should probably update the minimum system requirements....
- [12:00] Moon Metty: yes
- [12:00] Squirrel Wood: [1]
- [12:00] Henri Beauchamp: Yes, the sysreq go as low as old Geforce2, so it'd be definitely lower than 128Mb
- [12:01] Prospero Linden: Hmm, it doesn't mention that
- [12:01] Prospero Linden: Who owns system requirements? Is that the doc team?
- [12:01] Alexa Linden: I would think so yes
- [12:01] Kona Linden: Heya
- [12:01] Squirrel Wood: geforce 2 has 32 or 64mb... not sure
- [12:01] Henri Beauchamp: nods
- [12:01] Kona Linden: actually, Zen & Windlight crew owned that
- [12:01] Henri Beauchamp: Like I said: could run SL with just 64Mb
- [12:01] Kona Linden: since they were doing the compatiblity assessments
- [12:01] Kona Linden: and Steve
- [12:02] Moon Metty: hi Bridie
- [12:02] Prospero Linden: Well, either we need to document 128MB as the minimum, or the slider needs to go down to the real minimum
- [12:02] Kona Linden: Hiya Bridie
- [12:02] Bridie Linden: hiya Moon, everyone
- [12:02] Prospero Linden: And we should document *a* minimum
- [12:02] Henri Beauchamp: Agreed
- [12:02] Kona Linden: yep
- [12:02] Moon Metty: yep
- [12:02] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: hi birdie :)
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: do we want to import and ask for documentation to match?
- [12:02] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: i will be right back
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: and clarification
- [12:02] Squirrel Wood: Nvidia has ceased driver support for GeForce2 GTS, GeForce2 Pro, GeForce2 Ti and GeForce2 Ultra.
- [12:02] Prospero Linden: Alexa : yeah... import, and say documentation should say 128MB minimum, unless we can live with less, in which case we should let the slider go lower.
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3435
- [12:03] Kona Linden: Alexa, I'll ping the team as well so that they can at least offer further insight on that issue
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: thanks Kona
- [12:03] Squirrel Wood: start outfit.... while some outfits may be full perms I don't see that as a mandatory requirement
- [12:04] Henri Beauchamp: Yep... Next ?... lol
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: so action if any on this?
- [12:05] Prospero Linden: VWR-5708 is probably a won't fix, sadly. Vivox isn't going to fix it. The SLim first look doesn't have the problem, although it does have some voice quality problems with Linux. The workaround that HexiLed posts for the current client works, and I'm using it this very moment.
- [12:05] Opensource Obscure: is there any reason to make them all full-perm ?
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: they should be as far as my knowledge
- [12:06] Opensource Obscure: sorry i meant NOT make them all-perm.
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: as should anything that's in the library
- [12:06] Henri Beauchamp: By the way... Will we get the sources for the current Firstlook any time soon, Prospero ?
- [12:07] Prospero Linden: Dunno...
- [12:07] Prospero Linden: Soft, Rob, and CG are the ones who know about the schedule for sources going out
- [12:07] Henri Beauchamp: ok...
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: last call for svc-3435.....
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: ok - marking with triaged date
- [12:08] Squirrel Wood: not everything being full perms is a good lesson to not expect full perms on whatever you get/purchase methinks
- [12:08] Prospero Linden: Alexa : if you want to import, assign to CG -- he's the main one who deals with library
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5708
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: Prospero, do you want to post your comment on that one?
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: I think everything I said here is already in the comments there
- [12:09] Aimee Trescothick: noticed "indra/newview/installers/darwin/firstlookslim-dmg/" in todays svn commits, soo maybe .... :)
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: so I'll mark as won't fix?
- [12:10] Prospero Linden: yeah
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5530
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: Minimized windows not remembering position
- [12:10] Henri Beauchamp: 5530: Yes, this bug is annoying and it got a patch and it was said it was already fixed internally... 4 months ago... Come on, folks, it's so trivial there is not even any need for a QA....
- [12:10] Prospero Linden: heh
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: ^^
- [12:10] Prospero Linden: "not any need for QA" is like saying "What could possibly go wrong?" in a horror movie
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: /import it already? ;)
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
- [12:11] Moon Metty: lol
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: never look in the closet
- [12:11] Henri Beauchamp: QAed it for months in the Cool SL Viewer :-P
- [12:11] Aimee Trescothick: but what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: I can ask for an update
- [12:11] Aimee Trescothick: *screams*
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: O.o
- [12:11] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: half the time, it's just a cat
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: I'll get an update on this and update the pjira
- [12:12] Henri Beauchamp: Yep, an update every 4 months is a good rate, me thinks... ;-P
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: agreed
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11697
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: Jumping Halts Strafing Movement
- [12:13] Squirrel Wood: naturally. no strafing while jumping
- [12:13] Prospero Linden: WEird -- is it really new in the 1.25 server?
- [12:13] Squirrel Wood: no 90 direction changes mid-jump. Unless you are a scout.
- [12:13] Opensource Obscure: i thought that worked .. once
- [12:14] Prospero Linden: Import, assign to core triage, add a tag "forensics" -- this needs to be reproed, and also we need to figure out if it's new in 1.25
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:14] Prospero Linden: Alas, there's no public facing 1.24 any more, so we have to do the repro internally
- [12:14] Bridie Linden: nods
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: oh ya
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: before I forget
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: for all you who help us pre-triage issues in Pjira
- [12:14] Bridie Linden: don't forget to update affects version
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: we are now making it manditory that the Enviroment field be filled out on all VWR and SVC issues created
- [12:15] Harleen Gretzky: cool
- [12:15] Kona Linden: ah, nice
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: we're hoping this will slow down the issues we have to resolve NMI because we don't have all the info
- [12:16] Aimee Trescothick: "My lounge"
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: offer a choice of the most common environments to pick from ?
- [12:16] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: is one of the lindens a canadian? i see a lot of canadian last names in here
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: my house and everywhere are not options :p
- [12:16] Prospero Linden: only knows of one Canadian Linden, but will not relevael who it is
- [12:16] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: haha ok
- [12:16] Kona Linden: I'm Canadian
- [12:16] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: that's one
- [12:16] Moon Metty: lol
- [12:16] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: next is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9558
- [12:16] Prospero Linden: Kona : but you live in SF now :) I know of one Linden who still lives in Canada
- [12:16] Kona Linden: but there are several of us
- [12:16] Ellla McMahon: how will it be mandatory ? will it not let an issue created ?
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: difficulties with teleporting for a few days now ...unable to complete your teleport request in a timely fashion
- [12:17] Squirrel Wood: teleporting issues.... definitely running into those... several tries till a tp works.
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: yes Ellla
- [12:17] Kona Linden: very true, Prospero
- [12:17] Ellla McMahon: great :))
- [12:17] Squirrel Wood: and that was today
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: ya it rolled out today
- [12:18] Moon Metty: sometimes you have to teleport to another sim first, before you can go where you want ...
- [12:18] Prospero Linden: When you're seeing those things, contact support
- [12:18] Prospero Linden: Overall teleport successes are crusing along about where they have been
- [12:18] Prospero Linden: There's been no systematic decline
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: add a Last Traige date to this?
- [12:18] Moon Metty: yes, i think so too Prospero
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: triage*
- [12:19] Prospero Linden: is looking at an internal metric of % teleport success
- [12:19] Moon Metty: some people will be unlucky though
- [12:19] Henri Beauchamp: 0.01% ?
- [12:19] Prospero Linden: In fact, there's fewer downspikes since 01/24, since the database stopped falling over every day
- [12:19] Prospero Linden: Henri : more like 94%
- [12:19] Henri Beauchamp: grins, "You sure ?"
- [12:19] Squirrel Wood: check failed teleports in conjunction with asset data to be transfered
- [12:20] Prospero Linden: Squirrel : yeah... there will be more if you try to bring lots of prims with you, especially if the prims have lots of data in them
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:20] Prospero Linden: "for best results, teleport naked"
- [12:20] Squirrel Wood: or check failed teleports in conjunction with target sim load ?
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: sometimes it's not just the prim count but the number of scripts in the prims
- [12:20] Moon Metty: hehe
- [12:20] Henri Beauchamp: Can"t teleport naked either...
- [12:20] Henri Beauchamp: ;-P
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: such as color change scripts, etc
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: O.o
- [12:21] Moon Metty: have your luggage sent over later
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:21] Squirrel Wood: I'm sorry but we lost your assets on the transport ?
- [12:21] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: heheh they all got sent to world of warcraft.
- [12:21] Prospero Linden: Your assets are being held at Chicago O'Hare
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: I'll add the triaged date to that one
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: let's move on to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5044
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: 5044 is a very long term annoyance.
- [12:22] Henri Beauchamp: VWR-5044: this one is *extremely* annoying... It prevents attachments from rezzing objects in places with group-rezzing perm only, whenever you did not set your group properly *prior* to wearing the attachment... It causes a lot of confusion among my (and others') customers. Please, pretty please, get someone to work on it (might be (most likely ?) server related too).
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: Attachments only change/inherit the active group when they're "rezzed"
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: ya. on rez, on attach, on teleport
- [12:22] Henri Beauchamp: Not on TP
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: but not on group change
- [12:22] Henri Beauchamp: on attach and on log in only
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: and this is imported already
- [12:23] Prospero Linden: I bet this is server-side rather than client-side....
- [12:23] Henri Beauchamp: Yep, but it needs someone to work on it "seriously"....
- [12:23] Squirrel Wood: I bet all this needs is appropriate update packets to be sent
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: I will ask for an update and find out what's going on
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: and ask for comments
- [12:23] Henri Beauchamp: Thanks
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: my pleasure
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: on to patches
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11844
- [12:24] Prospero Linden: thinks patches is a good name for a cat
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: MiniMap - Conversion to XUI, and code clean-up
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: code clean up always sounds good
- [12:24] Aimee Trescothick: that's for the featurettes crew
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: less clutter to work around ^^
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: any objections to importing?
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: and import it will go
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: and now the misc pool of fun
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7039
- [12:26] Henri Beauchamp: VWR-7039: I added a (long, sorry) comment to this one: another very annoying bug causing confusion and much annoyance (when you loose the hanges you just made because of a crash, for example). Please, read my comment for full details. Can demonstrate the bug repro here, if you want
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: thanks Henri :)
- [12:27] Prospero Linden: Huh.... I haven't observed this myself
- [12:27] Prospero Linden: E.g. all the prims I'm wearing for this dino av are in a folder
- [12:27] Prospero Linden: And when I take them off, they come back to the right spot
- [12:27] Henri Beauchamp: OK, let me show you...
- [12:27] Moon Metty: i never use "take off" a folder
- [12:28] Bridie Linden: hasn't seen this either
- [12:28] Henri Beauchamp: Creating a prim
- [12:28] Henri Beauchamp: "Wearing" it
- [12:28] Prospero Linden: OH! You have to click "take off" on the folder.
- [12:28] Prospero Linden: I see
- [12:28] Prospero Linden: That wasn't clear from the description --
- [12:28] Henri Beauchamp: Channging texture and color
- [12:28] Prospero Linden: Description seems to just say taking off items when those items happent o be in a folder
- [12:28] Henri Beauchamp: detaching, reattching and poof !
- [12:28] Harleen Gretzky: Apparently from Henri's long comment, it happens when you change things and then detach and re-attach too quickly
- [12:29] Henri Beauchamp: old texture, old color
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: thank you for the clearer steps Henri
- [12:30] Henri Beauchamp: Welcome. Spent hours explaining to customers after script updates in attachments... :-/
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: a good one for QA possibly?
- [12:30] Bridie Linden: not new though, right?
- [12:31] Prospero Linden: Henri : this isn't new in 1.25, is it?
- [12:31] Henri Beauchamp: Always existed, but got worst since december 2007
- [12:31] Prospero Linden: i.e. a year ago
- [12:31] Henri Beauchamp: When they changed the asset server cluster...
- [12:31] Henri Beauchamp: Looks like a race condition and/or caching problem
- [12:32] Prospero Linden: This is something for either SysInfra Triage or Core Triage
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:32] Henri Beauchamp: SOme handshaking bewteen the sim server and the asset server would allow to fix this, methink
- [12:32] Prospero Linden: Not sure if the problem is in the code, or in the asset server implementation
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11621
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: Users last name is omitted from normal display over head
- [12:32] Squirrel Wood: no last name on name tag above head - a fix for that was in 1.25 / rc7 methinks.
- [12:32] Prospero Linden: 1.25rc7?
- [12:33] Prospero Linden: There is no such beast....
- [12:33] Prospero Linden: :)
- [12:33] Moon Metty: i read that is because special charcters are use in the groupname
- [12:33] Moon Metty: used*
- [12:33] Henri Beauchamp: yes, I saw this once recently
- [12:33] Prospero Linden: Was that fixzed in 1.25.4? If not, may be fixed in 1.25.5?
- [12:33] Prospero Linden: can't remember what all went into 1.25.4 or 1.25.5 any more... too long a list... :/
- [12:33] Squirrel Wood: either way its known (ask Soft if you must) and it should be fixed
- [12:33] Moon Metty: i never saw it
- [12:34] Henri Beauchamp: Also, with v1.22 viewers, the name tag is sometimes missing... No repro, alas. It's random. The avatar also fail to rez altogether (not even a cloud) till you zoom on their position
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: and in addition..
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: attachments and avatar are rendered in different places sometimes
- [12:35] Henri Beauchamp: Yep, saw this once too
- [12:35] Henri Beauchamp: Funny
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: action on this one Kona?
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: Hi Phillip :)
- [12:35] Kona Linden: one sec
- [12:35] Phillip Vought: :) hi all.. better late than never I guess :)
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: we're on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11621
- [12:36] Kona Linden: Ty
- [12:36] Moon Metty: hi Philip
- [12:36] Prospero Linden: Phillip : unless you're talking about the flu. Then better never than late.
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:36] Kona Linden: let's import
- [12:36] Phillip Vought: 11621 is related to special characters in the group title I believe.. I've seen a mentor demonstrate thi
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11759
- [12:37] Prospero Linden: Is it sitll going here? If not, is it still going on aditi "Second Life Beta Server"?
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: SVN-108641 Linux stopped playing streams
- [12:37] Prospero Linden: uyh
- [12:37] Kona Linden: eeeww
- [12:37] Prospero Linden: II still play streams....
- [12:37] Henri Beauchamp: Did not see this happening here
- [12:37] Prospero Linden: Some streams are harder than other streams
- [12:37] Henri Beauchamp: lol
- [12:37] Prospero Linden: I have even seen the occasional stream that works on Linux but *not* on mac or windows
- [12:38] Henri Beauchamp: Hehe....
- [12:38] Prospero Linden: This is probably a cannot repro or some such.
- [12:38] Henri Beauchamp: Yep, ask for a repro (stream url ?)
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: I can mark with a triage date and ask for repros
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: jinx
- [12:38] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:39] Kona Linden: poke poke, you owe me a coke
- [12:39] Prospero Linden: Re: the previous one, I *think* that one was fixed in 1.25.4, which means it should be fixed right here and right now
- [12:39] Prospero Linden: VWR-11621
- [12:39] Kona Linden: ahhh
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: ok I can ask
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11467
- [12:39] Kona Linden: thanks Prospero
- [12:39] Prospero Linden: INternal issue DEV-26214 and DEV-21403 should have fixed it
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: nvidia texture rendering bug is in RC 122.5 not resolved!
- [12:40] Prospero Linden: DEV-26214 and the related issues
- [12:40] Prospero Linden: RC122.5! Somebody is way ahead of us
- [12:40] Moon Metty: :)
- [12:40] Henri Beauchamp: thinks it's the viewer
- [12:41] Harleen Gretzky: Haven't seen anyone else but the OP ahve this issue in 1.22.5
- [12:41] Squirrel Wood: texture rendering issue... methinks a driver update may he helpful
- [12:41] Squirrel Wood: be..
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: I can suggest that
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: ans if anyone else if having the problem
- [12:41] Henri Beauchamp: Nah, it was a paletized texture problem. I think it was fixed in 1.22RC6 or 7
- [12:41] Harleen Gretzky: The driver update is what causes this issue
- [12:41] Harleen Gretzky: It was fixed in 1.22.0
- [12:41] Prospero Linden: resolve as "fixed"? If is fixed in current RC
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: go back a version?
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: driver wise?
- [12:42] Henri Beauchamp: Linux and MAC viewers do not use paletized tectures, so they never saw this problem. Windoze did.
- [12:42] Moon Metty: hi Gellan :)
- [12:42] Gellan Glenelg: looks to me that, despite what they say,. they haven't rebaked since switching to 1.22
- [12:43] Harleen Gretzky: I agree
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: do you agree with NMI and asking them that?
- [12:43] Phillip Vought: or the pant size hasnt been adjusted to get it to work correctly again
- [12:43] Ellla McMahon: I thinks so too
- [12:43] SynJa Levee: Hello
- [12:43] Henri Beauchamp: Ask for confirmation with v122RC7 ?
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: comments are welcome :p
- [12:44] Imaze Rhiano: my pants are working fine in latest RC
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:44] Gellan Glenelg: well, it's the same issue as VWR-9358 . I'd be tempted to mark as dupe and request that, any further comments should be added to VWR-9358
- [12:44] Prospero Linden: "my pants are working fine in latest RC" <-- words to live by
- [12:44] Henri Beauchamp: lol
- [12:44] Imaze Rhiano: :P
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:44] Bridie Linden: lol
- [12:44] Kona Linden: nice
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: ok - I'll tie together and ask if it's still a problem with 1.22.7+
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-2269
- [12:45] SynJa Levee: may i get some help with building gsstreamer on amd64?
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: Videos appear on black prims when VLC media player is in the background
- [12:45] Henri Beauchamp: Driver bug.
- [12:45] Henri Beauchamp: Have VLC almost constantly on while in the viewer: no problem here
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: I commented
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: you need to turn off overlay
- [12:46] Ellla McMahon: it is an old driver
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: misfiled?
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: not old driver. its an overlay issue
- [12:46] Phillip Vought: yup .. I agree with SQ
- [12:46] Henri Beauchamp: Yep, I think you're right, Squirrel
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: or expected behavior with your comments
- [12:47] Squirrel Wood: video repro here: [2]
- [12:47] Kona Linden: Nice, Squirrel
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: can you link that to the issue squirrel?
- [12:47] Squirrel Wood: can do
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: thanks :)
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: would we agree to resolve as expected behavior?
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: being that it isn't a "bug"
- [12:48] Henri Beauchamp: Not a SL bug anyway. More like a conflict in overlays
- [12:48] Phillip Vought: SQ.. was that just an excuse to show off your chest?
- [12:48] Gellan Glenelg: any chance of describer how to disable VLC overlay, to make it easier for them?
- [12:48] Gellan Glenelg: describing*
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:49] Phillip Vought: Gellan the fix is to minimise VLC, not put it to the background
- [12:49] Henri Beauchamp: Or to use OpenGl or Xv for VLC
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3602
- [12:50] Phillip Vought: its color bleedthrough, the X server does a substitution similar to the way SL does it
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: Unlinking does not reset camera position and animation controlled by child prim
- [12:50] Squirrel Wood: link added to me comment.
- [12:50] Gellan Glenelg: you've repro'd this, Moon?
- [12:50] Squirrel Wood: why should it reset those perms? the script still holds them.
- [12:51] Moon Metty: no, i don't know this one
- [12:51] Gellan Glenelg: oh - who was I testing it with, then? hmm
- [12:51] Moon Metty: hehe
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: permissions are script bound. not prim or object bound
- [12:51] Moon Metty: maybe my memory is bad Gellan :)
- [12:52] Moon Metty: we've seen so many bugs
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: are you talking about 3402, squirrel?
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: 3602*
- [12:52] Squirrel Wood: ya
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: permission is automatically granted when you sit
- [12:53] Gellan Glenelg: and removed when you stand...
- [12:53] Henri Beauchamp: Yes, as long as the script does not relinquish the permissions, it is legit for it to keep camera and anim control
- [12:53] Gellan Glenelg: unless you are forced to stand by the "unlink"
- [12:53] Phillip Vought: Then why only on Priority 4 anims?
- [12:53] Phillip Vought: its inconsistent
- [12:54] Phillip Vought: and why only on the child prim
- [12:54] Gellan Glenelg: I suspect there's a missing "remove permissions that were granted to child prims"
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: Kona or Prospero?
- [12:55] Phillip Vought: I agree that what he;s showing is the way I'd expect it to work, but then it should work that way for root, child and unscripted prims
- [12:55] Prospero Linden: I would import and assign to Core Triage, or maybe to QA for a repro?
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:55] Kona Linden: yes pls
- [12:56] Moon Metty: it's slowly coming back now :)
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: and last one
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11486
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: Need to restart SL when connecting and disconnecting headset (USB)
- [12:56] Prospero Linden: ugh
- [12:56] Prospero Linden: This is a pain in the butt
- [12:56] Prospero Linden: But I bet it's hard to fix
- [12:56] Kona Linden: this is a pain
- [12:56] Prospero Linden: It'd be nice to have a "reinitialize audio system including voice" button
- [12:56] Gellan Glenelg: is it because sl only "detects hardware" on startup?
- [12:56] Squirrel Wood: I would assume that this usb headset require specific drivers
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: ahh and I commented
- [12:57] Prospero Linden: But, right now, the system detects what audio devices you have when SL starts, and never redetects
- [12:57] Kona Linden: that said however, I've not had to restart SL when I disconnect my headset
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: this may be feexed
- [12:57] Kona Linden: and this was yesterday for me
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: me too
- [12:57] Kona Linden: on the live client
- [12:57] Prospero Linden: Ah.
- [12:57] Aimee Trescothick: ... and if you fix it someone will complain that SL switches to their headset when they plug it in to use skype :D :P
- [12:57] Prospero Linden: Hmm
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: so I will add a triage date
- [12:57] Phillip Vought: dont fix it if it adds significant overhead
- [12:57] Ellla McMahon: is this still an issue and relevant to 11486 .. [3]
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: and that's it for today's fun
- [12:57] Kona Linden: I did however blue sceen when I plugged two headsets into my PC...lol
- [12:57] Prospero Linden: Yeah, if he disconnects the headset, he may need to go into prefs and redirect his audio output
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: thank you all for showing up today
- [12:58] Squirrel Wood: Mmm. Bl00 screens...
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: and for your constant help with Pjira
