  • [2009/08/10 12:05] Tayra Dagostino: hi
  • [2009/08/10 12:05] Davy Linden: your nuts, squirrel ;P
  • [2009/08/10 12:05] Yann Dufaux: hello all sorry
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Squirrel Wood: ^^
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Kona Linden: Looks like VWR-9999 is a duplicate... http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9999
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Harleen Gretzky: Meta issue for all teleport issues
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Soft Linden: Gonna party like it's viewer-nine nine ninety-nine
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: jaw drops from the duplicates of that one. O_O
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Kona Linden: lol
  • [2009/08/10 12:06] Yann Dufaux: hello Darv , and Soft
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] Techwolf Lupindo: The tp throttle got a lot of folks. Just today, I had to do severl quicks tps.
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] Phantom Ninetails: That's crazy, so many linked issues
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4705
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] Techwolf Lupindo: For example, I was in no-script land, tp home to get my HUD to tell me the location of an OH, tp withen seconds after the first one.
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] Soft Linden: I think on the teleport one, we can import and just note that there may be useful info in that nest
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] xstorm Radek: im on Snowglobe 1.1.2 (2584) Aug 1 2009 09:40:23 (Snowglobe Release) with no teleport problems
  • [2009/08/10 12:07] Harleen Gretzky: But there are 5 - 10 "I can't TP out from where I am" daliy for the past 2 months that are duped to VWR-9999
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Yann Dufaux: Snowglobe 1.1.2 (2584) Aug 1 2009 09:40:23 (Snowglobe Release)
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Kona Linden: Soft, http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9999?
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Yann Dufaux: me too, welcome littles crazy on snowglobe
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] xstorm Radek:  ? is it lag or a TP killer ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Odd, 4705 - I don't have that issue, if I'm reading it correctly?
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Ellla McMahon: do we keep directing people to Support ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Soft Linden: Kona - yeah.
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Davy Linden: ok soft
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Soft Linden: And yeah, would direct people to support.
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Kona Linden: back to SVC-4705
  • [2009/08/10 12:08] Soft Linden: They let Engineering know when they see a surge in any kind of failure
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] xstorm Radek: there is a script that i have been told about that stop people from teleporting out of sims
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I've never had an issue accesing the estate panel with the new sim roll-out.
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Ellla McMahon: mark VWR-9999 for import ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: kills his typing.
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Soft Linden: Ellla - yup!
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Davy Linden: yes ella
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Ellla McMahon:  :))
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Soft Linden: For this EM one - some specific regions would help here
  • [2009/08/10 12:09] Harleen Gretzky: Not happening for me either
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] Kona Linden: NMI then?
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] Davy Linden: ok
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] Soft Linden: NMI, specific regions/estates
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] WolfPup Lowenhar: it might be happening with just the newer regions
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] Techwolf Lupindo: I think the estate is listed in the Enviromnemt:
  • [2009/08/10 12:10] xstorm Radek:  ? i have been in many new ones with no tp problems
  • [2009/08/10 12:11] WolfPup Lowenhar: i think this is the estate info in Deutschland Startinsel located at sim3519.agni.lindenlab.com (216.82.21.254:12035)
  • [2009/08/10 12:11] xstorm Radek: may be there is a mega prim the size of a sim doing this ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:11] WolfPup Lowenhar: for the managers issue
  • [2009/08/10 12:12] Soft Linden: Would still NMI. If twelve people voted, surely someone else can corroborate? Can also ask if the region they were standing in was included in the problem set.
  • [2009/08/10 12:12] WolfPup Lowenhar: true
  • [2009/08/10 12:12] Soft Linden: Would also ask someone with the problem -not- to remove and re-add so we can catch it while it's still a problem
  • [2009/08/10 12:12] Squirrel Wood: this brings up another problem.. non sim owners/estate managers cannot see who is an EM in a sim
  • [2009/08/10 12:13] Harleen Gretzky: 11 votes were real quick, so might have been all the EMs of the effected estate :)
  • [2009/08/10 12:13] Soft Linden: Mebbe!
  • [2009/08/10 12:13] Soft Linden: Squirrel - that might be desired, not sure. I'd create a JIRA for it so people can object if they wouldn't want that changed
  • [2009/08/10 12:14] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4696
  • [2009/08/10 12:14] Techwolf Lupindo: Squirrel, I have though about that, I think it should stay that way. Prevent un-wanted support calls.
  • [2009/08/10 12:14] Squirrel Wood: right now I could state that I am an EM of this sim and you have no way to check that
  • [2009/08/10 12:14] Moon Metty: how do you send a friendship offer to yourself?
  • [2009/08/10 12:14] Kona Linden: lol
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Soft Linden: Looks like they sent the message directly, not via the viewer
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] BlckCobra Shikami: well, this person did and seems he got punished
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Techwolf Lupindo: And spam. I'me sure spammers would love to get estate managers list. :-)
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Phantom Ninetails: lol, that's a crazy one
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Soft Linden: Can import for core.
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Soft Linden: It should be removing that message at least.
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] xstorm Radek:  ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] BlckCobra Shikami: he got punished already, we can close the issue :-)
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] Soft Linden: But this would be the tiniest of tiny violin issues. :3
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] WolfPup Lowenhar: that is a good question it looks like he might have crouped a control file for the viewer
  • [2009/08/10 12:15] xstorm Radek: a DLL why was they messing with a library in the first place ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:16] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14463
  • [2009/08/10 12:16] Soft Linden: Would import for core, anyway. They can remove the queued request/message
  • [2009/08/10 12:16] Soft Linden: (last one)
  • [2009/08/10 12:16] Davy Linden: ok soft
  • [2009/08/10 12:17] BlckCobra Shikami: baking avatar textures seems to be a big mess lately in gerenal. I have to rebake nearly every time I log in or my body is covered with textures frpm te surrounding or parts are invisible
  • [2009/08/10 12:17] Techwolf Lupindo: I could see someone spoofing a self-frendship requiest to someone else and they get stuck in a neverending friendship e-mail spam.
  • [2009/08/10 12:17] BlckCobra Shikami: interesting this happens extremly when I log in in the morning. I assume the sim has not cached textures
  • [2009/08/10 12:17] Yann Dufaux: snapshot or vdei capture?
  • [2009/08/10 12:17] xstorm Radek: this error i have seen
  • [2009/08/10 12:17] xstorm Radek: its a mesh problem
  • [2009/08/10 12:18] Yann Dufaux: video* sorry
  • [2009/08/10 12:18] xstorm Radek: they need to rebake more then one time
  • [2009/08/10 12:18] Davy Linden: is this just a timing issue? (rebake takes longer to show to others now - sometimes a minute or so)
  • [2009/08/10 12:18] BlckCobra Shikami: usually one time is sufficient (at least for me) but every morning
  • [2009/08/10 12:18] xstorm Radek: yes
  • [2009/08/10 12:18] Soft Linden: I'd guess they were on a lousy circuit and the udp-based texture upload is taking forever. Can they upload snapshots okay?
  • [2009/08/10 12:19] Soft Linden: I'd NMI, ask if they can upload snapshots and textures.
  • [2009/08/10 12:19] xstorm Radek: i did a test and found up to 3 times for some very old items
  • [2009/08/10 12:19] Soft Linden: That would tell us if it's just a general connectivity issue or something unique to clothing.
  • [2009/08/10 12:19] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:19] BlckCobra Shikami: I either have textures on me of clothing I have worn days ago or textures from the surrounding or viewer textures
  • [2009/08/10 12:19] xstorm Radek: some textures do not load it seems
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] WolfPup Lowenhar: im on snowglobe 1.1.2 ant parts of techwolf are missing
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] xstorm Radek: snowglobe even has mini map texture problems
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] BlckCobra Shikami: I use Emeral today and lots of parts from techwolf are missing
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] BlckCobra Shikami: Greenlife Emeral Viewer
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] Techwolf Lupindo: WolfPup, I just did a re-bake.
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] Yann Dufaux: Wolf, the best bugs, if the clothing are missing
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Now I see you.
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: You were invisible before.
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] xstorm Radek: yes
  • [2009/08/10 12:20] WolfPup Lowenhar: now you just showed up fully tech wolf
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Tayra Dagostino: i dunno if only clothing are affected by connectivity, is VWR-14463 related to texture marked as "MIS" if opened from inventory?
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Techwolf Lupindo: Emerald is based on 1.23.4
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] xstorm Radek: i have seen that a lot
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: And you're gone again. e.o
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Ardy Lay: I see lots of weird stuff like that when I use a marginal wireless connection. Non when direct connected to the cable-modem.
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] xstorm Radek: some one rez in with out any thing on them
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] WolfPup Lowenhar: yep your torso just went poof agasin
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Ardy Lay: None when direct
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I'm connected directly to my router.
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Yann Dufaux: Tech some times the rebake have no effect
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Kona Linden: Ok folks, let's head to the Pool!
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] WolfPup Lowenhar: im hard line with i higher end vid card
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Yann Dufaux: cya Kona
  • [2009/08/10 12:21] Davy Linden: techwolf, are you running SL on a secondary monitor?
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Ardy Lay: I don't use a "broadband router". I have found them to be lacking.
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I have to use my router or I get no connection at all. I'm on ADSL. :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Techwolf Lupindo: I'me getting a lot of these after a re-bake.
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Techwolf Lupindo: 2009-08-10T19:21:01Z INFO: retransmitUnackedPackets: resending xfer 216.82.27.56:13001:VFile 4e1c0524-16cc-10b6-3dd8-1f7bd37c3532:texture packet unconfirmed after: 3.03181 sec, packet 64
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Kona Linden: odd...
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Soft Linden: Yeah, Techwolf - that looks like a connection problem.
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Soft Linden: Not enough upstream bandwidth or such
  • [2009/08/10 12:22] Techwolf Lupindo: Why 3 second timeout?
  • [2009/08/10 12:23] Yann Dufaux: euh i need to know an thing about snow Aimee, if you have little times after
  • [2009/08/10 12:23] Techwolf Lupindo: Uploads are notorelly slow, ISP love to retrick upload speed.
  • [2009/08/10 12:23] Techwolf Lupindo: restrick that is
  • [2009/08/10 12:23] Kona Linden: Hmmm...not sure...need bigger hamsters? =)
  • [2009/08/10 12:24] WolfPup Lowenhar: -*@ ROFL @*- kona
  • [2009/08/10 12:24] Yann Dufaux: loll ahmser have 50 year of more :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:24] Aimee Trescothick: nods at Yann, if I can
  • [2009/08/10 12:24] Morgaine Dinova: I think this has been discussed before. There are some timeouts taking place and there's no recovery after they've happened.
  • [2009/08/10 12:24] Yann Dufaux: hamster*
  • [2009/08/10 12:24] Techwolf Lupindo: Ever load up the upload buffer on a cable modem? Take about 5-10 seconds for it to clear out.
  • [2009/08/10 12:25] xstorm Radek: Kona my server is the same as LL servers and i see glifs and map size errors so i know its more then a small bug at times
  • [2009/08/10 12:25] WolfPup Lowenhar: < have trie to 'blast' that buffer on his modem to no avail
  • [2009/08/10 12:25] Morgaine Dinova: Timouts are inappropriate. Use a logarithmic backoff, just like TCP does, so never give up.
  • [2009/08/10 12:25] Kona Linden: Soft, any further insight on VWR-14914?
  • [#VWR-14914] FPS drop: related to "audio" (main thread hangs often on openal lock)
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I can confirm this one.
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] WolfPup Lowenhar: < set a bit torent program to 6MB/sec upload rate with a highly popular file
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Techwolf Lupindo: And RETRY, never give up.
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I've been getting the "Audio" bar spiking to 60-100 quite a lot today.
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Soft Linden: They're already looking at this one on sldev
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Kona Linden: 14914?
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] xstorm Radek: that i have seen
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Soft Linden: Kona - yeah.
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Techwolf Lupindo: Sahkolihaa, have you tried the patch at http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14914 ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Soft Linden: I'd leave it be for a week, see what comes of it
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Phantom Ninetails: I sometimes see times like that in fast timers during a grief attack on the Linden sandboxes
  • [2009/08/10 12:26] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I'm no coder. :)
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3787
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] Aimee Trescothick: yeah, it this patch should be going into Snowglobe shortly, so see how it goes there
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] Aimee Trescothick: -it
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Ah, will do.
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] Squirrel Wood: If you toss enough audio uuids at a particular avatar you can slow them down to a crawl.
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] xstorm Radek: plus the SL Voice can stop and crash the client
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] Harleen Gretzky: There is a patch attached to VWR-14914 also
  • [2009/08/10 12:27] BlckCobra Shikami: maybe something gives a hint which I added to SVC-483 today
  • [#SVC-483] is missing: from Database
  • [2009/08/10 12:28] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3787
  • [2009/08/10 12:28] BlckCobra Shikami: the fact that all vanished scripts were "not running" (at least those who vanished from me)
  • [2009/08/10 12:28] BlckCobra Shikami: which
  • [2009/08/10 12:28] Morgaine Dinova: Hey TechWolf, I grabbed your snowglobe-trunk again (post 1.1.2), and exactly the same problem occurs as before, totally unusable owing to continual freezes. It's so bad I can't diagnose it, lol, too frustrating :-(
  • [2009/08/10 12:28] xstorm Radek: wooo hooo what a way for me to make lindens
  • [2009/08/10 12:29] Techwolf Lupindo: Morgaine, please wait. I've been doing updates and have not pushed out the fixes.
  • [2009/08/10 12:29] Morgaine Dinova: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:29] xstorm Radek: sale server side scripts
  • [2009/08/10 12:29] xstorm Radek:  ;-)
  • [2009/08/10 12:30] Techwolf Lupindo: To repo SVC-3787, set up the beta grid to do rolling starts. :-)
  • [2009/08/10 12:30] Techwolf Lupindo: restarts
  • [2009/08/10 12:30] Soft Linden: I think this is "NMI - look at the previous NMI request"
  • [2009/08/10 12:30] xstorm Radek:  :-)
  • [2009/08/10 12:31] Davy Linden: +1 soft
  • [2009/08/10 12:31] Soft Linden: Adding the requested object name and location shouldn't be hard
  • [2009/08/10 12:31] Soft Linden: though probably less useful after burning a week. It's doubtful it will be in logs anymore
  • [2009/08/10 12:31] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4670
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Moon Metty: that sounds like a region-freeze problem
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Squirrel Wood: ping / velocity interpolation ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Sounds like ping interpolation isn't on for that.
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Haha Squirrel, stop reading my mind. xP
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Squirrel Wood: ^^
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Techwolf Lupindo: Every sim I go to, I can't do a walk across the sim without rubberbanding.
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] xstorm Radek: sounds like packets dropping
  • [2009/08/10 12:32] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: And your mic is on. :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:33] Kona Linden: lol
  • [2009/08/10 12:33] Soft Linden: I'm not clear from this if they're talking client side lag, server lag, ...
  • [2009/08/10 12:33] Kona Linden: *checks his mic*
  • [2009/08/10 12:33] Soft Linden: Someone could volunteer to try and milk out more information, or we could ask them to contact support
  • [2009/08/10 12:34] Morgaine Dinova: There was an Advanced setting for movement interpolation, wasn't there? A debug setting?
  • [2009/08/10 12:34] Aimee Trescothick: wonders what dropping packets sound like
  • [2009/08/10 12:34] BlckCobra Shikami: LOL
  • [2009/08/10 12:34] Squirrel Wood: dvanced network
  • [2009/08/10 12:34] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Scary thought.
  • [2009/08/10 12:35] Morgaine Dinova: Thanks Squirrel. Velocity interpolate and Ping interpolate.
  • [2009/08/10 12:35] xstorm Radek: if audio is getting sent over a bad network it will be chopy
  • [2009/08/10 12:35] Ellla McMahon: seems like a mixed up issue. The two later commenters are not necessarily talking about the same specific issue
  • [2009/08/10 12:35] Soft Linden: Right. Not clear.
  • [2009/08/10 12:35] Soft Linden: Need someone to spend some time with the reporter - a volunteer here, or nudge them toward support.
  • [2009/08/10 12:36] xstorm Radek: same way with walking
  • [2009/08/10 12:36] Yann Dufaux: sorry crap crashing
  • [2009/08/10 12:36] Kona Linden: Ella, good point...I was just thinking the same thing
  • [2009/08/10 12:36] Kona Linden: Soft, recommend they contact Support then?
  • [2009/08/10 12:36] Techwolf Lupindo: Sujest linking that jira with the server performace meta-issue
  • [2009/08/10 12:36] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [2009/08/10 12:37] Davy Linden: ok
  • [2009/08/10 12:38] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14604
  • [2009/08/10 12:38] Moon Metty: is vwr-5574 still marked internally as a feature request for a framerate limiter?
  • [#VWR-5574] load sticking: at 100% on both cores of Core2Duo (Mac *and* PC) computers
  • [2009/08/10 12:38] Morgaine Dinova: I suggest that some sims be set up showing graphs of server responsiveness and interpolation metrics, or else there;s going to be a lot of these reports. Numbers are needed.
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] xstorm Radek: to me that computer is too old
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] Techwolf Lupindo: Isn't SL supposed to use 100% CPU for maxium frame rate? :-)
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] xstorm Radek: i have no clue what a old PC is doing
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: It does on my system.
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] Squirrel Wood: afaik the client limits its own cpu usage
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] WolfPup Lowenhar: or even do a sever side sampeling of data flow
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] Soft Linden: 100% of one core is expected
  • [2009/08/10 12:39] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: What about two though? :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Soft Linden: Fisk's comment sure makes it sound like a texture decode is stuck or something
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Moon Metty: Soft, is vwr-5574 still marked internally as a feature request for a framerate limiter?
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Techwolf Lupindo: What about four? I have four cores?
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] xstorm Radek: im on a server with 4 Processor Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 1352, 2100 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Aimee Trescothick: 16?
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Techwolf Lupindo: Oh...vovix will sometimes take pure 100% CPU on one core when exiting or crashing.
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] xstorm Radek: i have no problems like that
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Here's the thing. I Just limited SL to one core so it uses 50% on my CPU. Frame rate didn't change.
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Soft Linden: This could be marked as a dupe of VWR-5574
  • [2009/08/10 12:40] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: So it's eating one core for no reason at all.
  • [2009/08/10 12:41] Moon Metty:  ???
  • [2009/08/10 12:41] Kona Linden: Soft, for VWR-14604?
  • [2009/08/10 12:41] Soft Linden: Kona - yes
  • [2009/08/10 12:41] Soft Linden: Moon - the other is not set as a feature request for a limiter. It's in QA, trying to find out why it happens on more than one core.
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Moon Metty: alrighty
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Davy Linden: so, mark this as dupe?
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Soft Linden: There already is a limiter option. It's like YieldFrameTime or such in debug settings.
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Soft Linden: yeah.
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Davy Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] WolfPup Lowenhar: im running a dual core syste and it is bearly touching both cores
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: What graphics card do you have?
  • [2009/08/10 12:42] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I noticed it uses both cores on my nVidia card. One core on my ATI.
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] WolfPup Lowenhar: i have and nvida 7600
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Phantom Ninetails: Second Life only uses one core, it's not very well multithreaded. Windows (or whatever OS) balances it to use about 50% of each core though
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Odd. oO
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Moon Metty: i had the problem with a 7600 too
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Moon Metty: i have a new card now
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Soft Linden: Sahk - maybe note that on vwr-5574 ?
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] WolfPup Lowenhar: did the same thing with my 6600 as well though
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] xstorm Radek: ok i have to go to my Doctor have a good day every :-) laterz'
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: checks.
  • [2009/08/10 12:43] Moon Metty: but there's a workaround in vwr-5574 now
  • [2009/08/10 12:44] Moon Metty: so that's the good news
  • [2009/08/10 12:44] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4687
  • [2009/08/10 12:45] WolfPup Lowenhar: < alawas makes shure there is plenty of cooling in his tower because ahs installed bunches of fans
  • [2009/08/10 12:45] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Ahhh, regarding 5574 - I have threaded optimisations on so I'll try the program settings in the nVidia control panel.
  • [2009/08/10 12:46] Moon Metty: cool Sahko
  • [2009/08/10 12:46] Soft Linden: Kona - I'd import this for attention. It's weird to be seeing so many of those
  • [2009/08/10 12:46] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:46] Soft Linden: Probably an icehouse issue - will sort it out at internal viewer triage.
  • [2009/08/10 12:46] Davy Linden: should it be SVC? or VWR?
  • [2009/08/10 12:47] Soft Linden: Not actually sure
  • [2009/08/10 12:47] Soft Linden: Possible that the sim changed how stuff is sent, but that the viewer should be handling that properly
  • [2009/08/10 12:47] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4703
  • [2009/08/10 12:48] Soft Linden: This should be imported
  • [2009/08/10 12:48] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:48] Davy Linden: ok
  • [2009/08/10 12:48] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7357
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Soft Linden: This looks like someone misunderstanding permissions.
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Phantom Ninetails: That description says "(default is no mod, no copy, no transfer)"
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Phantom Ninetails: But that's not true
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Soft Linden: They're trying to set no-mod, no-copy, no-transfer
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Soft Linden: Right.
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Soft Linden: Would close unless someone else can corroborate
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Kona Linden: Will Not Fix then
  • [2009/08/10 12:50] Davy Linden: ok
  • [2009/08/10 12:51] Soft Linden: Harleen's been pretty patient and helpful on that one
  • [2009/08/10 12:51] Kona Linden: YAY HARLEEN!
  • [2009/08/10 12:51] Moon Metty:  :)
  • [2009/08/10 12:51] Darv Linden: Thanks Harleen :)
  • [2009/08/10 12:52] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12614
  • [2009/08/10 12:52] Harleen Gretzky: Was trying :) Needs a Linden to resolve as EP though, the OP won't accept it from me
  • [2009/08/10 12:52] Davy Linden: will do, harleen
  • [2009/08/10 12:52] Kona Linden: TY, Harleen =)
  • [2009/08/10 12:53] Soft Linden: I've had this a couple times when trying to direct-voice with a brand new account
  • [2009/08/10 12:53] Soft Linden: Would import for the voice beasties, yeah.
  • [2009/08/10 12:53] Kona Linden: kk
  • [2009/08/10 12:53] Davy Linden: ok
  • [2009/08/10 12:54] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13928
  • [2009/08/10 12:54] Soft Linden: So basically they're making all their textures and inventory re-download
  • [2009/08/10 12:54] Kona Linden: I blame Vista...but that's merely a knee jerk reaction =)
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: xD
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Soft Linden: Kind of expected that there's some lag here, but if it's worse in 1.23 as they claim...
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Gecko Linden: hahaha
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Moon Metty: hehe
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Soft Linden: Would be nice to ask if others can repro this, and if it really is worse with 1.23
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I've never noticed this.
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Squirrel Wood: of course lag is worse with a clear cache
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Techwolf Lupindo: There is a bug that I am encountering, FPS will drop a huge lot when moving around a sim after loading up all the prims. Its a hard to repro bug and I need to figure out how to use profiling so I can blame the right part of the code.
  • [2009/08/10 12:55] Squirrel Wood: the client has to refetch every last texture :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:56] Soft Linden: Squirrel - they're claiming 1.23 is worse here though
  • [2009/08/10 12:56] Soft Linden: If there really is a regression, would be good to know
  • [2009/08/10 12:56] WolfPup Lowenhar: especialy with high draw distances
  • [2009/08/10 12:56] Soft Linden: Would suggest either QA give it a try, or ask the community to try 1.22 and 1.23 both, see if there's a difference
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] Davy Linden: import QA? or NMI?
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] WolfPup Lowenhar: i get this some with snowglobe especialy when i switch regions
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] Squirrel Wood: can't tell if 1.23 is worse as I cannot get SL to use the full bandwidth... :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] Techwolf Lupindo: When I get this bug, changeing graphics settings will sometimes clear it out.
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Same.
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] Squirrel Wood: but that's because I'm not in the US :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] WolfPup Lowenhar: but not a major drop in framrates though
  • [2009/08/10 12:57] Techwolf Lupindo: Squirrel, Ditto when I was on a 20Mbs connections.
  • [2009/08/10 12:58] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Yeah but we only hit about 800kbits/s down. :p
  • [2009/08/10 12:58] BlckCobra Shikami: It takes definately longer since 1.23 when you come TP to new region until it's loaded
  • [2009/08/10 12:58] BlckCobra Shikami: Didn't do stop watch messures - but from my subjective impression
  • [2009/08/10 12:58] Kona Linden: I'm thinking NMI...Soft, thoughts?
  • [2009/08/10 12:58] Morgaine Dinova: Snow will use up to the 2 meg configured for me just fine, on a 20Mbps pipe.
  • [2009/08/10 12:59] Soft Linden: NMI or import for QA. Ambivalent here - whoever would do it sooner :3
  • [2009/08/10 12:59] Gecko Linden: wonder if it relates to SVC-4687
  • [2009/08/10 12:59] Davy Linden: NMI, and ask for location/connection speed from anyone who can repro?
  • [2009/08/10 13:00] BlckCobra Shikami: rather to http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4196
  • [2009/08/10 13:00] WolfPup Lowenhar: i have snoglobe set to 1M but thinking of slowing it down caus it can some times slow down my roommates connection
  • [2009/08/10 13:00] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Hm, I only know of this one when someone logs into a sim, but not teleport.
  • [2009/08/10 13:00] Kona Linden: Alright, then NMI for now
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Kona Linden: Folks it's 1pm...THANK YOU THANK YOU as usual....have a great week!
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Davy Linden: thanks all
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Soft Linden: This is prooooobably a dupe of SVC-3895
  • [#SVC-3895] Mono scripted: object cripples sim FPS
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Kona Linden: and hope to see some of you at SLCC
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Soft Linden: Avatars tend to carry a lot of scripts
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Moon Metty: ok Kona, thank you too :)
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Darv Linden: Gotta run; bye all!
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: See you. :)
  • [2009/08/10 13:01] Kona Linden: Soft, will note that
