- [12:02] Davy Linden: Today's Agenda: [1]
- [12:02] xstorm Radek: sl is mean to me to day
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: and please refresh the page
- [12:02] Morgaine Dinova: Hi Davy, Soft, Alexa
- [12:02] Soft Linden: Hey hey hey
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: as I have imported one of the issues already
- [12:02] xstorm Radek: im not getting textures to load
- [12:03] xstorm Radek: Squirrel you do not mind if i sit next to you ?
- [12:03] Davy Linden: let's start ...
- [12:03] Morgaine Dinova: Breakage is the price of progress. Don't feel bad unless it was avoidable :-)
- [12:03] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5409 - llGetUnixTime() is inconsistent between sims.
- [12:04] Davy Linden: elsie' comment suggests this is fixed already
- [12:04] Squirrel Wood: fix it by synching them to an atomic clock ?
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: I can ping dev and ask?
- [12:04] Davy Linden: ok
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:05] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-3924 - Paving Route 9 in the Chilbo Community (Achado, Madhupak, Soyeonpyeongdo, Anma sims) per Blondin's instructions re: our Community Partnership Proposal
- [12:05] xstorm Radek: i have not seen that error yet so no clue
- [12:05] Davy Linden: this is already imported
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: this one
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: ya
- [12:05] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5420 - output to DEBUG_CHANNEL with llSay /me format has been changed and broke content.
- [12:05] Soft Linden: For time sycnc errors like that, that needs to be fixed asap if it happens again.
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Our simulator protocol relies heavily on near synchronous clocks.
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: ping support next time?
- [12:05] Squirrel Wood: even winbugs manages to sync every 8 or so days ^^
- [12:05] Soft Linden: yeah, please
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: so we are alerted faster?
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: ok. I'll talk to him
- [12:06] Morgaine Dinova: Soft, any idea whether any Linden is going to comment soon on the major thread currently worrying opensource-dev?
- [12:06] Soft Linden: Probably tomorrow.
- [12:06] Morgaine Dinova: kk
- [12:06] Soft Linden: I know it's bouncing back and forth internally right now, and the internal open source meeting is in the morning.
- [12:06] Morgaine Dinova: nods
- [12:06] Entering god: mode, level 150
- [12:07] Soft Linden: This should be fixed
- [12:07] Soft Linden: Import the debug channel format change please
- [12:07] Morgaine Dinova: Thanks :-)
- [12:07] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: importing then soft?
- [12:07] Davy Linden: yep
- [12:07] Soft Linden: yus
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:07] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7740 - Permissions changeing on items
- [12:07] Object Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:08] Object Touched.:
- [12:08] xstorm Radek: the /me is working
- [12:08] Crazy Box: Touched.
- [12:09] Techwolf Lupindo: I have a realated bugged item I was planning to show and tell at the sim dev OH.
- [12:09] Soft Linden: Ah, on that last issue - is he renaming the thing to a space character or such?
- [12:09] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:09] Prim Box: Touched.
- [12:09] Techwolf Lupindo: very similar to that bug, permission chage when editing it.
- [12:09] xstorm Radek: looks like its working for me
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: [12:09
- [12:10] Void Singer: I see /me in debug window
- [12:10] Void Singer: that are broke
- [12:10] xstorm Radek: ok why is it working for me ?
- [12:10] Davy Linden: which channel, xstorm?
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: different client?
- [12:10] Prim Box: Touched.
- [12:10] Techwolf Lupindo: I see:
- [12:10] Techwolf Lupindo: Object: (llSay) /me 0,0,0,0
- Object: (llSay) /me asdf 0,0,0,0
- [12:11] Techwolf Lupindo: However, what do scripts see?
- [12:11] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:11] xstorm Radek: default
- {
- state_entry()
- {
- llSay(0, "/me Hello, Avatar!");
- }
- touch_start(integer total_number)
- {
- llSay(0, "/me Touched.");
- }
- }
- [12:11] Davy Linden: that;s on channel 0. the bug is on debug channel
- [12:12] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:12] Object: I: heard <(llSay) /me asdf 0,0,0,0>.
- [12:12] xstorm Radek: why is it having problems on debug chan it a chan number
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Odd. That (llSay) injected is new, I think?
- [12:13] xstorm Radek: if you do not program it right you will get a error
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: waves up to Sheet
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Anyway, importing that debug channel issue will get it to the mono guys
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: ok.. import it is
- [12:13] Void Singer: there was a fix to debug because objects chatting to it were being sent to public
- [12:13] Davy Linden: back to...
- [12:13] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7740 - Permissions changeing on items
- [12:13] Soft Linden: So, this is pretty old... is anyone seeing this?
- [12:13] Sheet Spotter: catches the wave, and rides through the barrel. (Hello!)
- [12:14] Bronson Blackadder: god I hope I didnt sit on anyone
- [12:14] xstorm Radek: yes i have had this problem
- [12:14] Squirrel Wood: I would ask for objects that cause this odd behavior
- [12:14] Techwolf Lupindo: re:VWR-7740. I have one object that chages perm when editing.
- [12:14] Davy Linden: specific objects, or repro steps would help
- [12:15] Techwolf Lupindo: A linden would have to get the object. Its notrans.
- [12:15] xstorm Radek: when they did the rollback i lost mod / copy and trans rights to a lot of thing i made that i had in my inventory
- [12:15] Void Singer: I've seen this before, but never been able to get a solid repo
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Sounds like QA looking at Techwolf's object would be ideal
- [12:15] Void Singer: seems very random
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Maybe import this, if Techwolf can give the object a unique name in inventory so a tester can rez and examine?
- [12:16] Techwolf Lupindo: The creater was nice an sent me another copy and that one didn't have the problem and she comment that its happend before.
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: yup. best to name the object like the jira issue
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:16] Techwolf Lupindo: Soft, allready have. I added (bugged) to it. :-)
- [12:16] Morgaine Dinova: Is an object being rezzed and it acquiring its permissions an atomic action? Or can sim failure midway cause an inappropriate perm state?
- [12:16] xstorm Radek: ok i will do the holo script thats got 0 lag in a sec
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: tech, you can drop the item on me
- [12:16] xstorm Radek: ooopppss sorry wrong window
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: thenwhen I import
- [12:17] Davy Linden: it's notrans
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: I can tell the QA person to grab
- [12:17] Davy Linden: can you put details of the object in a comment pls
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: ok so then I will work with you and the QA person to get it
- [12:17] xstorm Radek: i have to go :-( sorry some one needs a scripter
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Even if it's notrans, a QA person should be able to get the asset ID and god rez it
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:18] Davy Linden: yeah - assuming we know which object :)
- [12:18] Davy Linden: next?
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: yes please davy
- [12:18] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-451 - outdated data on webpages, pages are wrongfully cached, page not refreshing
- [12:18] Techwolf Lupindo: Alexa, won't let me drop. Its no trans.
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: I'll work on the coordination
- [12:19] Squirrel Wood: old cache content can be the result of ISP side transparent proxy/cache setup ..
- [12:19] Soft Linden: I'd NMI this with Yoz's question at the bottom there
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:20] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5383 - Consecutive non-conflicting RezMultipleAttachmentsFromInv messages fail
- [12:21] Squirrel Wood: heh.. I keep getting [11:27
- [12:21] Soft Linden: So, does this repro if trying to wear two folders in a row quickly?
- [12:22] Soft Linden: For this, I'd want to NMI, asking if there's a case where this happens in the normal viewer, and what those repro steps are
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: nmi
- [12:22] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1499 - SLA/Blogs missing Eyeroll Emote
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: hahahahaha
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: stop the presses!
- [12:22] Squirrel Wood: feature request?
- [12:22] Void Singer: what can I say
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:23] Soft Linden: I know about getting that error message on the last one with single wears to unkonwn attachment points, but I think it's a different issue
- [12:23] Void Singer: no, it's missing =P
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Why is this one not showstopper?
- [12:23] Void Singer: it WAS present
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: rolls her eyes
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: Void, I'll ask about this
- [12:23] Squirrel Wood: Please make sure that the pending attachment error message states *which* attachment point it originates from..
- [12:24] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5428 - High Packet loss, Rubberbanding, Script runtime stops, various other issues since 1.36.2 emergency release.
- [12:24] Soft Linden: Squirrel - can you put that in a new JIRA?
- [12:24] Void Singer: I admit, a lil overzealous, but it used to exist
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: willdo
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: I'll ask about how emoticons are added to clearspace
- [12:25] Soft Linden: This is probably not 1.36.2, but rather the fact that a bunch of new simulators were used at about this time. This coincided with moving a lot of sims out of the San Francisco datacenter
- [12:26] Soft Linden: Certainly possible there's a problem switch in the new place, or someone's ISP doesn't route to Phoenix as well as SFO
- [12:26] Soft Linden: hrm
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: still a problem?
- [12:26] Void Singer: Alexa, while you're asking would you see if Yoz would shoot me the xml file for the java forum highlighter and I'll shoot her back one for LSL? should be fairly simple from looking at clearspace doc's I just can't find the exact format
- [12:26] Davy Linden: 2 linked issues look to be the same problem
- [12:26] Davy Linden: which hould be the master/duplicates?
- [12:27] Soft Linden: Alexa - I'd NMI, asking people to start collecting a list of hosts where this happens to see if there's a pattern
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:27] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1488 - Missingt right click behavior for Blog/SLA editor
- [12:27] Morgaine Dinova: The big problem is lack of measurements, and hence numbers. Makes it very difficult for users to make a specific problem report, and very difficult for Lindens to address it.
- [12:27] Soft Linden: They can also contact concierge about specific islands if they own them, or support if they own land on a mainland region where it's happening
- [12:28] Techwolf Lupindo: When I right click, I get two different menus that overlap each other.
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Oh yay. Does Jive try and replace the context menu? :/
- [12:28] Void Singer: it does
- [12:28] Techwolf Lupindo: Soft, I think that what its doing.
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Most browsers have an option to prevent right click hijacking, but it's goofy to make people rely on that
- [12:29] Soft Linden: Yeah, this should be imported. Maybe there's a setting to disable that
- [12:29] Void Singer: just for the editor window, but still... those behaviors should be present for any text editor
- [12:29] Techwolf Lupindo: Somewhere on the blogs, someone commented on a drop in replacemetn for that editor that works. I'll have to searce for it.
- [12:29] Void Singer: I think it does it because of rich text handling
- [12:29] Soft Linden: What does it add to the context menu instead?
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: Blog issues really need to be looked at by the blog team
- [12:29] Soft Linden: Anything that isn't available on buttons?
- [12:29] Void Singer: hmmm lemme check.
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: so I will ping them on this
- [12:30] Techwolf Lupindo: Jive, or whoever doign the blog software, has NIH syndrome and rolled there own editor instead of using a drop in working one.
- [12:30] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1506 - Blog/SLA/Forum: Impossible to turn of email notifications of private messages
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: for these blog issues, I'm going to ask I pass these on to the blog team
- [12:30] Void Singer: nope all the inserts are available from the editor buttons
- [12:30] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1481 - Merchants Round Table should not be hidden
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: many of these have more to do with the software and it's limitations
- [12:31] Soft Linden: Yeah, add a comment on the last one, would you? If all the options are there, then the context menu should be nuked with prejudice imho
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: so I wil ask they address these
- [12:31] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5095 - llGetOwnerKey on detaching object is incorrect
- [12:32] Soft Linden: ah yeah, import this please
- [12:32] Soft Linden: Race condition. Could cause some objects to freak out that verify in scripts that the owner never changes on no-trans items
- [12:33] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12307 - Avatar gets traped in the void space
- [12:33] Soft Linden: For this, they should contact support if it happens again
- [12:34] Soft Linden: We saw this when the viewer was able to contact another sim, but the sims couldn't communicate with each other
- [12:34] Soft Linden: The sim ended up invisible as a result - they could still bump into things, etc - just not see anything
- [12:34] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12870 - Logging out of linux hangs computer
- [12:35] Morgaine Dinova: I think he means logging out of the SL client, yes?
- [12:35] Davy Linden: you mean SL won't continue to run when you log off of the OS??
- [12:36] Morgaine Dinova: Davy: :-)
- [12:36] Void Singer: looks like he's saying exiting the client hangs the gui
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: waves a furry fiist in the air
- [12:36] Soft Linden: The last comments look like the proper answer on this
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: fist* too
- [12:36] Soft Linden: Incompatibility between the oss we're using and what ships with Ubuntu
- [12:36] Squirrel Wood: are they trying to execute init 0 from within SL? :p
- [12:37] Soft Linden: It's already attached to VWR-16816 - Tofu or someone will look at these after the new viewer drops
- [12:37] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16816:
- [#VWR-16816] and Music: Stream Sound issues with Ubuntu
- [12:37] Ellla McMahon: re Summary LOL .. my fault .. I amended it to remove the reference to Viewer 1.22
- [12:37] Morgaine Dinova: I've noticed that the majority of LL-derived viewers, including LL main and Snowglobe, do not exit cleanly. On that person's distro, perhaps it's causing total collapse.
- [12:37] Ellla McMahon: and should have left the word Viewer in there !!!!
- [12:37] Soft Linden: I'd just nudge the date on this for now. It will be caught when VWR-16816 is reviewed
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:37] Sheet Spotter: Would suggesting they manually rename the libraries tell you if the problem was in the LL supplied libraries?
- [12:37] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15813 - Sculpt textures are not loaded.
- [12:38] Squirrel Wood: yup I notice this
- [12:38] Squirrel Wood: scuplt textures are among the textures that take forever and three days to finally load
- [12:38] Techwolf Lupindo: So have I with the new server rolloout
- [12:38] Morgaine Dinova: The amount of trouble Pulseaudio worldwide is causing is beyond belief. What a mess Linux audio is in.
- [12:38] Squirrel Wood: sometimes I need to edit sculpted attachments for the sculpts to be shown properly
- [12:38] Soft Linden: Sheet - you could suggest that on the last issue - I don't know if that would answer it or not
- [12:40] Soft Linden: On this one - I'd NMI - is it always these items? Just for her or for everyone?
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:40] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2844 - UI and Music Stream Sound Stuttery under Ubuntu 7.10 (fine in 7.04)
- [12:40] Soft Linden: If it happens for others, it would be great to get a slurl for where those are
- [12:40] Davy Linden: did we ever get tht "meta for linux audio issues"?
- [12:41] Morgaine Dinova: 2007
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: will add both to it
- [12:41] Sheet Spotter: Or to see the Texture Console when those objects are highlighted.
- [12:41] Soft Linden: I'd NMI, given the last question
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Needs system info. Also, should be linked to VWR-16816
- [12:41] Soft Linden: oops - it is linked
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Looked past that somehow.
- [12:42] Davy Linden: I added "Meta-Issue" to title of 16816
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: jinx dammit!
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: too fast for me :(
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: I'll link all together
- [12:43] Squirrel Wood: Keep in mind that bunnies can only count to four. Anything above that is just lots. ^^
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: next?
- [12:43] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1483 - Blog/SLA Tags Clouds do not include sub category tag clouds
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: ^^
- [12:43] Davy Linden: another one for blog team
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:43] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1489 - Blog/SLA Layout
- [12:43] Void Singer: and another
- [12:43] Davy Linden: and again
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:43] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4510 - Multiple scripts in same object with llTakeControls cause control events with wrong ID
- [12:44] Void Singer: lol
- [12:44] Void Singer: does the blog team have separate hours? maybe I can pop in and bring those up directly?
- [12:44] Aargle Zymurgy: takes a look at that last one
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: I am talking to them about that void
- [12:45] Soft Linden: This should be imported, but it would really help if they would post example scripts for the poor QA/dev person who looks at it
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: as we see a growing need :)
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: ok soft
- [12:45] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4685 - Not possible to drop inventory into objects which are using an full alpha texture (when highlight transparent is disabled)
- [12:45] Squirrel Wood: Isn't it so that multiple permission dialogs cause multiple permission events which are sent to all scripts in the object ?
- [12:45] Void Singer: ty Alexa
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:45] Davy Linden: I think thi is expected behavior. Imagine someone wearing an invisible 512x512x512 in a sandbox!
- [12:46] Aargle Zymurgy: Davy, I'm a little perplexed by that one
- [12:46] Void Singer: nods
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: talk about clearing a sim out O.o
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: someone wearing an invisible 512x512x512 gets punted. :p
- [12:46] Techwolf Lupindo: I think that was done on porpus to prevent Linden thieft.
- [12:46] Aargle Zymurgy: I've got a new game where the outside is an invisible surface, but that actually discrupts touching things inside unless you've got your camera in the right spot
- [12:47] Soft Linden: But it's disturbing that this -does- work if setting the object transparent via LSL
- [12:47] Soft Linden: with llSetAlpha
- [12:47] Soft Linden: This should be imported for that - but the summary should be changed to reflect that it's inconsistent with transparent textures and zero alpha
- [12:47] Davy Linden: +1
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:47] Void Singer: not much help for soft, as scammers will just set it at 1%
- [12:47] Squirrel Wood: full alpha textures don't show up when you have show transparent set to on
- [12:47] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-471 - llGetNextEmail no longer recieves mail from UUID@lsl.secondlife.com
- [12:47] Squirrel Wood: invisiprims ftw
- [12:48] Techwolf Lupindo: One exploit was to place an alpha prim in from of the vender and that gets payed instead of the vender.
- [12:48] Aargle Zymurgy: Techwolf, don't I know *that* one. yeesh.
- [12:48] Davy Linden: This is OLD... and I've seen emails succeed thi wek
- [12:48] Davy Linden: this* week*
- [12:48] Squirrel Wood: that is because people do not check who receives the payment
- [12:48] Aargle Zymurgy: there are even stunts where you can do that even in a no-rez parcel
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: still a problem, nmi?
- [12:48] Soft Linden: I'd close it can't repro
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:48] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4895 - tools>Recompile Scripts in Selection & Reset Scripts in Selection intermitantly fails to apply to all prims in link set.
- [12:49] Soft Linden: I've got literally hundreds of devices using email in that fashion, which work fine
- [12:50] Soft Linden: I'd import this, given Moon's comments
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:51] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4994 - vehicles won't start, or run for only a couple seconds
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: nmi still a problem
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: could be script
- [12:52] Soft Linden: Yeah, and the name of a sim if so
- [12:52] Soft Linden: It's also possible that the sim has physics turned off in debug settings
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: someone could be holding the car :p
- [12:52] Davy Linden: could just be someone r-clicking the objects
- [12:52] Aargle Zymurgy: sounds like a couple cars I had RL
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: a lot of possible reasons
- [12:52] Soft Linden: So NMI with a specific region - could ask them to contact concierge too, if it's their region
- [12:53] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5049 - Declined inventory offers are being added to inventory.
- [12:53] Techwolf Lupindo: There is one client out there that expllits that to freeze all phycial objects in view.
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: was that emerald?
- [12:53] Techwolf Lupindo: Alixa, no
- [12:53] Squirrel Wood: We have physics messing up in Furnation hell every once in a while
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: I remember hearing about this tech
- [12:54] Squirrel Wood: at which point objects either don't move or fly off into eternity
- [12:54] Soft Linden: A couple bad viewers have things that basically just send a select to everything in the region, yeah.
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Emerald is not one.
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Anyway - knowing which region will help.
- [12:54] Techwolf Lupindo: Its an anti-griefting feature, or griefting feature depending on how tyou look at it.
- [12:54] Boroondas Gupte: it's the protocol that's bad, not the viewers, because some info is only available from the server when the object in question is selected
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: so back to 5049
- [12:55] Soft Linden: I'd leave this one open, asking for others' input. Any patterns on when it happens, etc would help.
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:55] Soft Linden: I doubt a dev would get to it soon with just one vote and no solid repro
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: last triaged date
- [12:55] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5287 - Mono compiled scripts fail to properly convert float to string
