The unit of trade in Second Life is called the Linden Dollar or L$. Residents use Linden Dollars to pay for goods and services provided by other Residents. Linden Dollars can be purchased most easily using Paypal, Mastercard and Visa on the LindeX. The LindeX is the official virtual exchange of Second Life and is run by Linden Lab.
