Talk:Sculpted Prims: Importing

Two things I'm wondering about.
- It would be nice to support JT or X_T format since these are used by a number of CAD programs (Solid Edge, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Is your solution the best? It seems there is a need to support Assemblies of sculpties. Trying to reduce a number of surfaces so a single NURB can be hard for non-trivial cases. Burhop Piccard 10:52, 26 June 2007 (PDT)
- I'd much prefer import of the 3DM format as it is already NURBS and 3D CAD programs like Rhinoceros are themselves already NURBS engines. Surely that would be easier to implement. Rhinoceros is 1/5th the cost of SolidWorks and as a partner with SolidWorks will import SolidWorks models. I've used SolidWorks in my past two jobs and own Rhinoceros on my own PC. You can save $4K that way and would open the doors to a great many more persons creating and importing to SL. Aplonis Ember 2008-04-11
