Critiques

Hello! Critiques welcome.

The GettingSLStartedToLearnLSL article explains how I first learned to go in world so I could script. I next collected a few Lindens by camping while scripting, then decided I might could try to profile myself like a native, since now I can afford to upload photos. My profile is in world at Edit > Search > People > Ppaatt Lynagh of course, but I've also thrown a copy out at User:Ppaatt_Lynagh#About_Me.

Images In User Pages

So that vertical bar of tools on the left of any page of this wiki includes the Toolbox > Upload file choice for adding images to these pages.

Sorry to say that tool doesn't just plain work. Looks like you have to find a way to scale the photos outside. In world, the profile tool scales them for you. Here, the photos stick to one resolution. Here are my two profile photos, not yet ready to land in my user page. See how wildly the resolution varies?

Turns out Leopard Mac OS > Preview will resize images for me, before I upload them. -- Ppaatt Lynagh 16:02, 10 November 2007 (PST)
Fixed! Now the 502x502 photo appears shrunk to a more reasonable 175x175. The page for the photo lets you upload a substitute photo of the same name, called a "new version". -- Ppaatt Lynagh 16:15, 10 November 2007 (PST)

~3X is the difference I see. 175x175 pixels in the one and 502x502 in the other. Likely the fix will be for me to shrink the other at my end, upload the shrunk version, archive this talk. -- Ppaatt Lynagh 16:38, 5 November 2007 (PST)
