A microcontinent is a group of less then 30 sims linked together in such a way that an avatar can travel from one sim to another. They have common Geographic features and transportation ways. The smallest microcontinent is formed of 3 sims, otherwise it is considered a Sim Group . Almost all microcontinents are private owned, usually by a single estate.
The fall 2013 census found 102 microcontinents. An interesting fact is that in some places a microcontinent is surrounded by a sim cluster.
