  • Geuis Dassin created the popular Filming Path camera dolly system in conjunction with his friend and fellow scripter Nand Nerd. He has created a number of machinima pieces, including several music videos and commercials, such as "You Hypocrite You" for the band What the...? and a short clip for the DVD release of the Dutch movie, "The Black Book". "You Hypocrite You" was nominated at the European Machinima Festival 2007. Recently Geuis released the first voice-activated lip animator in Second Life called Motor Mouth, which has great promise for improving the realism of avatars in Second Life machinima. He is currently involved in producing several new machinima films which will be released soon.
  • Silver Goodman, David Lang in real life, is Director of Photography for Machinima by Silver and Goldie. Now specializing in machinima, he is a highly skilled professional with decades of experience producing broadcast television series, documentaries, marketing and public information films. • Chantal Harvey, tvmaker, cameraperson and editor in RL, now creating machinima in SL. A passionate dutchie, a perfectionist who will film and edit into the tiniest detail. Always looking for quality and improvement, and last but not least - fun. Music machinima, advertorials, parodies, art, parties, anything goes.

She is currently starting a machinima sim - Harvey Machinima, a non-commercial sim, run with creative and eager avatars like xtrabling Bing and many others. A collective happening, everybody welcome, is the credo here.

  • Gary Hazlitt, multi-skilled SL resident, well known sim creator/builder (The Project Factory), educationalist and highly rated machinimatographer. He creates commercial, personal and experimental machinima and most are related to his own multi-sim developments in SL, many cover music, events, performance etc: A good non-confidential sample can be seen on his YouTube The Icarus Channel.

Gary trains media professionals in Machinima through AFTRS (The Australian Film TV and Radio School) including cinematographers, production designers, screen composers, sound designers and writers as well as broadcasters like ABC. As Director of LAMP (more in his profile) there are several projects currently creating episodic SL machinima and recent ones are working in AI, emotional AI to create combinations of generative and impro machinima.

  • Cecil Hirvi, a former borg, now uses his technological distinctiveness to create unique, poetic and dynamic machinimas in-world and out. He has written, produced and photographed nearly 20 different machinima films since early 2007. His clients have included musical artists such as jazz singer Paisley Beebe and educational venues like EdTech Island for Boise State University.

His films push the boundaries of fictional story-telling mixed with new techniques including mash-ups, and utilizing other game engines and custom designed 3D animation to achieve the final work.

His machinima portfolio can be seen for free on Youtube here:[1]

Cecil is currently working on a new on-going SL series and another film involving digital actors from around the world shot entirely in SL. Recently, he has been invited by Boise State University to teach a course on Machinima Making for 2008.

He is available to shoot mostly anything EXCEPT in-world Weddings.

  • HVX Silverstar, an SL and RL instruction librarian (University of California Davis), but hailing from Liverpool, UK. "HVX" is for Panasonic's HVX200, my good friend and companion in RL [2]. I am an amature machinimatographer and spend time working with the teens on the PLCM's Eye4YouAlliance Island and great teens led by Storm Basiat of the UK in the teen grid, Peggy Sheehy and crew on Suffern Middle School's wonderful Ramapo Islands [3] and the Second Life Library and partner islands in the main grid (Info Island/Info International and the library & partner islands - 44 islands comprise the Info Archipelago). Visit the Machinima Institute at its new location on Eduisland 3 in the Info Archipelago: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Eduisland%203/62/27/23 Currently we have Wohl Enoch/Colyn Wohlmut's Machinima Bibliography (ThinC Book) on display; a service learning project at the Machinima Institute which was part of the SJSU Library Science Master's program. The web version is available at: [4] Some of my machinima on YouTube: [5]. Recently I spoke at the the World Library and Information Congress, 19-23 August 2007, Durban, South Africa [6] on Second Life machinima for libraries. The flight back was eventful: Timeless Prototype was in the row behind me and also headed to SLCC in Chicago. Yes, SL is making RL smaller. I currently teach the machinima sessions in the Virtual World Librarianship series offered through GSLIS, University of Illinois Urbana Champagne in SL using Moodle for RL content.
