  • [14:00] Thickbrick Sleaford: hello people
  • [14:00] Morgaine Dinova: Hi Rob :-)
  • [14:00] Rob Linden: hi folks
  • [14:01] Sheet Spotter: G'day eh!
  • [14:01] Thickbrick Sleaford: hello partially masked Rob
  • [14:01] Twisted Laws: dang hippos got him... upper chest is see thru Rob
  • [14:01] Rob Linden: ah, righto
  • [14:01] Rob Linden: so, that's revenge of SNOW-8, unfortunately
  • [14:01] Morgaine Dinova: LOL, that was funny. Lag made you walk visually into the amphitheater and all the way out the other side, Rob ;-))
  • [14:01] Geneko Nemeth: ...wow.
  • [14:01] Soft Linden: Hey hey!
  • [14:01] Twisted Laws: yer, i saw tht too
  • [14:01] Thickbrick Sleaford: I think SNOW-8 is actually a bunch of bugs
  • [14:02] Rob Linden: Morgaine: I thought I was the only one who saw that
  • [14:02] Morgaine Dinova: Hi Soft!
  • [14:02] Phantom Ninetails: Greetings everyone
  • [14:02] Morgaine Dinova: Hiya Merov :-)
  • [14:02] Morgaine Dinova: Hi Phantom!
  • [14:02] Techwolf Lupindo: I managed to get some automated tests created and ran some last night. I posted the results on the sl-dev list and have a notecard if anyone want to look at them.
  • [14:02] Merov Linden: Hi there
  • [14:03] Sheet Spotter: Well, no one cab acuse you of having moobs when your chest is transparent. :-)
  • [14:03] Merov Linden: is backlogged on email :(
  • [14:03] Morgaine Dinova: Which bug holds pride of place in the "bag of bugs"? or unknown?
  • [14:04] Rob Linden: Morgaine: what do you mean?
  • [14:04] Morgaine Dinova: Oops, sorry,. preempting meeting :P
  • [14:04] Morgaine Dinova: I was answering Thickbrick's comment about "bag of bugs" :-)
  • [14:05] Rob Linden: well, there's nothing listed on the agenda....I think we should talk about the final stuff needed for getting Snowglobe out
  • [14:05] Morgaine Dinova: Or "bunch of bugs" rather
  • [14:05] Rob Linden: Morgaine: that would be SNOW-8 that's a bunch of different bugs
  • [14:06] Rob Linden: at least by some reckonings. I actually suspect there's a single root cause for SNOW-8, though...at least, for the most reproducable cases of it
  • [14:07] Soft Linden: Which viewer are you using atm, Rob?
  • [14:07] Rob Linden: I'm using Snowglobe
  • [14:07] Patnad Babii: can someone explain me what special feature have snowglobe im sorry i havent followed
  • [14:07] Merov Linden: yeap, I'm suspecting the baked textures are not uploaded when you change outfit in snowglobe
  • [14:07] Rob Linden: Soft: you might have missed our conversation about the fact that I think I'm sporting the SNOW-8 outfit
  • [14:07] Soft Linden: Gotcha :)
  • [14:07] Sheet Spotter: Patnab... [1]
  • [14:07] Rob Linden: Patnad: most visible feature is the map
  • [14:08] Techwolf Lupindo: updates a jira bug report.
  • [14:08] Aimee Trescothick: hmm, I'm in 1.22 and Rob's blurry
  • [14:08] Soft Linden: Everyone sees Rob about like that snapshot?
  • [14:08] Aimee Trescothick: so it's part way there :D
  • [14:08] Techwolf Lupindo: I do, 1.23.3
  • [14:08] Phantom Ninetails: I don't, I see him normally. 1.22 viewer
  • [14:08] Darv Linden: Yeah
  • [14:08] Soft Linden: What do people see him like in Snowglobe?
  • [14:08] Merov Linden: same here, I'm using snowglobe though
  • [14:09] Techwolf Lupindo: What the UUID of that jacket? :-)
  • [14:09] Twisted Laws: same on 2381
  • [14:09] Sheet Spotter: Yessir, on Snowglobe 1.23.2 (2338) his upper body is transparent.
  • [14:09] Aimee Trescothick: blurry body to be precise
  • [14:09] Melinda Latynina: he looks like his snapsht in 1.23 too
  • [14:09] Thickbrick Sleaford: for me his whole body is transparent excep the hair, eyes, and a few pixels on the shoulders
  • [14:09] Sheet Spotter: I assumed he was just on a diet. :-)
  • [14:09] Thickbrick Sleaford: (snowglobe)
  • [14:09] Rob Linden: Thickbrick: I saw that earlier
  • [14:10] Merov Linden: geee... what an interesting one...
  • [14:10] Morgaine Dinova: For what it's worth as a control, I see Rob rendered fully on 1.22.11 (sorry, in retro mode :P)
  • [14:10] Rob Linden: I'm seeing myself fully rendered as well
  • [14:10] Soft Linden: Rob, were you able to do something to cause the failure, or just luck before the meeting?
  • [14:11] Thomas Shikami: it depends on if I see someone fully rendered
  • [14:11] Aimee Trescothick: yep he's arrived fully here in 1.22 now as well
  • [14:11] Merov Linden: at least you're not in your undies like me the other day :D
  • [14:11] Melinda Latynina: so the viewing is a problem in 1.23 and snowglobe?
  • [14:11] Rob Linden: Soft: Alexa, Merov and I had a big ol' repro party a couple hours ago
  • [14:11] Thickbrick Sleaford: speaking of which, I wanted to demontrate what I wrote in the comment on SNOW-8: Do people see me wearing a jacket or a short-sleeved-shirt?
  • [14:11] Thickbrick Sleaford: (people on 1.23 or snowglobe)
  • [14:11] Geneko Nemeth: Shirt.
  • [14:11] Geneko Nemeth: (1.23)
  • [14:12] Morgaine Dinova: Shirt (1.22.11)
  • [14:12] Latif Khalifa: Rob is missing his bely for me too on 1.23
  • [14:12] Twisted Laws: shirt on snowglobe 2381
  • [14:12] Thickbrick Sleaford: i think if I pu the jacket texture on a prim, the bake will be sent ot everybody pretty fast
  • [14:12] Techwolf Lupindo: shirt (1.23.3)
  • [14:12] Thickbrick Sleaford: since it is not fully loaded locally for me, so no bake being sent
  • [14:12] Melinda Latynina: shirt (1.23.3)
  • [14:12] Rob Linden: I see Thickbrick in a shirt on 2381
  • [14:12] Sheet Spotter: Bacl shirt with motorcyles under palm trees. 1.23.2.2338
  • [14:13] Merov Linden: short sleeve shirt here
  • [14:13] Latif Khalifa: hmm seems different hardware does differen things
  • [14:13] Morgaine Dinova: Oh! Makes sense I guess that you can't bake until you fully load. But alas that means that the latency on updates to everyone else is going to be really bad by design.
  • [14:13] Latif Khalifa: Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 260/PCI/SSE2 Second Life 1.23.4 (123649) transparent upper body
  • [14:13] Thickbrick Sleaford: yup, it look, like a bake was sent just now, even though I was wearing the jacker for a few minutes
  • [14:14] Rob Linden: finally sees the jacket
  • [14:14] Thickbrick Sleaford: the think is, I think there's something wrong with the way priories are set
  • [14:14] Techwolf Lupindo: Just got the new bake from Thinkbrick
  • [14:14] Merov Linden: seeing a jacket now
  • [14:14] Melinda Latynina: me to
  • [14:14] Thickbrick Sleaford: putting it on a prim shouldn't raise the priority significantly
  • [14:14] Sheet Spotter: Jacket just appeared on Thickbrick. 1.23.2.2338
  • [14:15] Sheet Spotter: Is there anything that will bring Rob's chest back? Rebake? Edit Appearance? Relog?
  • [14:15] Rob Linden: Thickbrick: what do you mean by "putting it on a prim"?
  • [14:15] Morgaine Dinova: This suggests that we need some way of expediting an av's own clothing loads beyond anything else, since it has a N* effect on everyone else's perception.
  • [14:16] Thickbrick Sleaford: the bake happened only after I put the jacket's texture on prim here to my right
  • [14:17] Thickbrick Sleaford: Advanced -< cHaracter -> Dump Local Textures say the priority is -1 before putting it on a prim, and a high number after putting it on a prim
  • [14:17] Latif Khalifa: 1.23 rendering has many problems, horizon does not render properly when you fly high, prim keep disappearing when zooming in, baking problems with invisible avatar parts....
  • [14:17] Thomas Shikami: have all the patches for 1.22 been ported forward to 1.23?
  • [14:18] Soft Linden: Yes
  • [14:18] Sheet Spotter: I have a repro for disappearing prims when you zoom in (VWR-13868).
  • [14:18] Latif Khalifa: thomas, these are brand new & exciting bugs, not some dusty legacy ones :P
  • [14:18] Latif Khalifa: repro is right behind us
  • [14:18] Thomas Shikami: it's something I've seen in the past, patches that were done for a viewer in the release candidate cycle were missing with the next release candidate
  • [14:19] Sheet Spotter: Understood Latif. I made a simpler one, using only apple sculpties from the Linden library.
  • [14:19] Thomas Shikami: well, this one bug seems new, but I've just heard some examples that were old
  • [14:19] Soft Linden: I remember once incident like that, Thomas. But by design the new RC should always be based on trunk after the previous release is merged back to trunk
  • [14:19] Soft Linden: So if anything is missing from 1.23 that was fixed in 1.22, it's a huge screwup somewhere
  • [14:20] Melinda Latynina: things do get lost in merge conflict resolutions though but that should be rare
  • [14:21] Sheet Spotter: Nice try, Rob. :-)
  • [14:21] Latif Khalifa: most annoying 1.23 bug for me personally is horizon flickering if you are at above 500m, i spend a lot of time on a build platform up around 700m and 1.23 is unusable there
  • [14:21] Rob Linden: oh well
  • [14:22] Phantom Ninetails: Water flickers at height in every viewer, though
  • [14:22] Thomas Shikami: prims disappearing was one thing that already happened. It was something with attachments disappearing. One of the bugs that reappeared with a next RC
  • [14:23] Thickbrick Sleaford: 1.23/snowglobe hides parts of the horizon that are partially behind prims, but I think for some reason that fails at high altitudes
  • [14:24] Rob Linden: well, if anyone has ideas about how to tackle SNOW-8, we'd appreciate your thoughts there
  • [14:24] Latif Khalifa: yeah [2]
  • [14:24] Rob Linden: Merov plans to tackle that one next, I think
  • [14:24] Thickbrick Sleaford: yay!
  • [14:25] Thomas Shikami: btw, about the avatar not rendering skin problem. I've seen that with someone using a 1.22 viewer on a new account. He was all grey. I think this has to do with missing hair for new avatars
  • [14:25] Sheet Spotter: Some of the comments in SNOW-8 refer to running multiple viewers on the same box...
  • [14:25] Merov Linden: the baking bug yes, not the horizon posted by Latif
  • [14:26] Sheet Spotter: In past releases the second viewer did not have write acccess to the cache, and this impacted the ability to view some textures.
  • [14:26] Rob Linden: ah, right...to be clear, Merov's planning on tackling SNOW-8 soon
  • [14:26] Sheet Spotter: Does the second viewer now have write access to the cache?
  • [14:26] Thomas Shikami: so to say, the baking bug always happened in the past already, but the impact wasn't as bad, as the viewers did the rebaking
  • [14:27] Merov Linden: Sheet: during our test session, we established that it's not a viewing issue, more an uploading issue (of the baked texture)
  • [14:27] Rob Linden: Sheet Spotter: when we were in repro mode earlier, we theorized about it being something to do with multiple viewers, but seemed to have ruled that out as a cause
  • [14:27] Sheet Spotter: Thank you both.
  • [14:27] Rob Linden: it is interesting to me that people seem to see all sorts of different renditions of me here, though
  • [14:28] Rob Linden: *that* might be a separate but related bug
  • [14:28] Thomas Shikami: I can see through the shirt
  • [14:28] Sheet Spotter: If you relog, or TP away and back again, does you chest re-appear? (We want talk about while you're away. Honest.)
  • [14:28] Rob Linden: I'll give it a shot, but first....
  • [14:28] Thomas Shikami: I mean I see, that there is no undershirt
  • [14:28] Merov Linden: surely, you mean "won't" Sheet :)
  • [14:29] Sheet Spotter: <-- full of typos today.
  • [14:29] Techwolf Lupindo: I see exactelly Rob as the snapshot.
  • [14:29] Latif Khalifa: i too
  • [14:29] Rob Linden: let's establish what people see right now. How many people see exactly the snapshot to my left?
  • [14:29] Twisted Laws: me too
  • [14:29] Sheet Spotter: Me three.
  • [14:29] Geneko Nemeth: Four!
  • [14:29] Bartholomew Kleiber: 4
  • [14:29] Latif Khalifa: i do (1.23RC=
  • [14:29] Bartholomew Kleiber: darn
  • [14:29] Techwolf Lupindo: Every little bit that is showing, its the same on the snapshot for me.
  • [14:30] Bartholomew Kleiber: 4++
  • [14:30] Thomas Shikami: I'm on a custom 1.22 and I see him properly
  • [14:30] Thickbrick Sleaford: put what I'm seeing on a prim
  • [14:30] Darv Linden: adds
  • [14:30] Rob Linden: anyone seeing just my hair and eyes?
  • [14:30] Geneko Nemeth: That makes it 8.
  • [14:30] Latif Khalifa: if i zoom real tifht on rob's face a see a cople of transparent lines on his forehead too
  • [14:30] Latif Khalifa: tight
  • [14:30] Phantom Ninetails: I don't see him like that because I'm also on 1.22. No support for transparent avatars.
  • [14:30] Techwolf Lupindo: Add me if it hasn't allready..
  • [14:30] Techwolf Lupindo: 1.23.3
  • [14:31] Merov Linden: Latif: same here about his face
  • [14:31] Rob Linden: scrolls back through the transcript to see who said they only saw hair and eyes
  • [14:31] Thickbrick Sleaford: I only see hair and eyes
  • [14:31] Morgaine Dinova: Presumably two viewers writing to the *same* cache is a bad idea ... or is it specifically designed to be shareable between viewer instances?
  • [14:32] Merov Linden: the cache is shareable
  • [14:32] Rob Linden: ah...that's right
  • [14:32] Thomas Shikami: the code seems to be written in a way to create a temporary secondary cache if it can't write to the main
  • [14:32] Latif Khalifa: Merov, this would indicate to me that Rob's viewer is uploading faulty bakes
  • [14:32] Merov Linden: designed that way for sure
  • [14:32] Morgaine Dinova: Merov: wow, that's nice!
  • [14:32] Merov Linden: Latif: yeap, that's what I think
  • [14:32] Rob Linden: so, it would seem there's at least two bad bakes that are out there...
  • [14:32] Merov Linden: Morgaine: I haven't said it's bug free though...
  • [14:33] Morgaine Dinova: chuckles
  • [14:33] Sheet Spotter: So...The only way to correct the bakes is to relog or change outfits?
  • [14:33] Rob Linden: k....I'm going to relog. Can someone capture the chatlog for the transcript?
  • [14:33] Rob Linden: I'm actually going to clear my cache first.
  • [14:33] Phantom Ninetails: What about CTRL+ALT+R
  • [14:33] Techwolf Lupindo: I want the texture cache on a local mysql. 1G seem aufully small now a days.
  • [14:33] Phantom Ninetails: The rebake textures option's shortcut.
  • [14:33] Techwolf Lupindo:  :-)
  • [14:33] Merov Linden: captures the chatlog
  • [14:34] Elric Ember: Squid'll let ya up that to 4GB
  • [14:34] Morgaine Dinova: I would dedicate a 1TB drive to cache, if we could.
  • [14:34] Rob Linden: ok....yeah, rebake first
  • [14:34] Rob Linden: rebaked....anyone see anything different?
  • [14:35] Sheet Spotter: I have the texture console open. No new textures.
  • [14:35] Techwolf Lupindo: waits...
  • [14:35] Melinda Latynina: nope
  • [14:35] Thomas Shikami: brb, getting my debug viewer
  • [14:35] Latif Khalifa: you're an optimist wrt upload speed ;)
  • [14:35] Elric Ember: Same/normal to me
  • [14:35] Rob Linden: I'm going to relog now
  • [14:35] Twisted Laws: no change for me on snowglobe
  • (relog)
  • [14:36] Techwolf Lupindo: ..is a cloud now...
  • [14:36] Geneko Nemeth: Still transparent...
  • [14:36] Connected undefined:
  • [14:37] Melinda Latynina: yep
  • [14:37] Sheet Spotter: My texture console showed a flash of "MIS" when you arrived. :-)
  • [14:37] Geneko Nemeth: Cache: MIS
  • [14:37] Sheet Spotter: Missing texture.
  • [14:37] Latif Khalifa: rob your viewer didn't uplaod new bakes
  • [14:37] Latif Khalifa: i guessed it used cached ones on the sim
  • [14:38] Thickbrick Sleaford: weird, changed a bit fo rme, but still mostly masked pixels
  • [14:38] Rob Linden: interesting
  • [14:38] Elric Ember: Cammed only on Rob, console showed refetch NET to DSK for me
  • [14:38] Latif Khalifa: rob, your viewer fails to uplad the bakes for some reason
  • [14:38] Rob Linden: well, that's a little more data
  • [14:39] Thomas Shikami: ohh, I see now
  • [14:39] Morgaine Dinova: Changing av to one with skin to test bakes
  • [14:39] Thomas Shikami: the shirt has wrinkles, the patterns that can be seen on that picture is resembling the wrinkles
  • [14:39] Latif Khalifa: is your hair supposed to be gray as on that snapshot?
  • [14:39] Flight Band: All Go
  • [14:40] Thomas Shikami: alpha on the baked texture is used for bump-mapping wrinkles into clothing
  • [14:40] Rob Linden: Latif, no, it's not
  • [14:40] Latif Khalifa: yeah, your viewer isn't uploading bakes
  • [14:40] Thomas Shikami: exactly that pattern seems to be visible on that snapshot there
  • [14:41] Sheet Spotter: From the debug log when Rob arrived:
  • 2009-06-11T21:37:13Z WARNING: LLVOAvatar::processAvatarAppearance: AvatarAppearance msg received without any parameters, object: 356aa0ac-1cd4-44f8-a5fd-7dabee0f2acb

  • [14:41] Thomas Shikami: 356aa0ac-1cd4-44f8-a5fd-7dabee0f2acb is my key
  • [14:41] Thickbrick Sleaford: you know your UUID by heart? O.o
  • [14:41] Thomas Shikami: mhm
  • [14:41] Thickbrick Sleaford: lol
  • [14:41] Phantom Ninetails: lol
  • [14:42] Phantom Ninetails: I only know the first character of mine
  • [14:42] Morgaine Dinova: Doesn't everyone? ;-)
  • [14:42] Phantom Ninetails: 9.
  • [14:42] Elric Ember: It's the new Virtual Social Security Number
  • [14:42] Phantom Ninetails: lol
  • [14:42] Morgaine Dinova: Hehe
  • [14:42] Techwolf Lupindo: Hmm...from my console. 2009-06-11T21:36:41Z WARNING: processAvatarAppearance: AvatarAppearance msg received without any parameters, object: d7811294-2db4-4eb3-8ec1-fe4705cd868c

  • [14:42] Phantom Ninetails: Except this one's easy to get by anyone :P
  • [14:43] Rob Linden: Merov (or anyone who knows) - what happens when an asset gets marked as missing? does the viewer just stop trying to access that asset?
  • [14:44] Merov Linden: I think so
  • [14:44] Soft Linden: The sim stops trying to fetch it for about a minute. I'm not sure about the viewer - probably the same.
  • [14:44] Darv Linden: 2c88ec7 is the UUID I get for Rob's MIS
  • [14:44] Darv Linden: So that's the one, Tech :)
  • [14:44] Rob Linden: Merov: just curious if there might be a tie-in to the workaround that I agitated for
  • [14:44] Techwolf Lupindo: grins "I love finding bugs. :-)"
  • [14:45] Melinda Latynina: what exactly is missing in rob's case? clearly we're seeing a texture with mostly alpha, but something's definitely there
  • [14:45] Merov Linden: which workaround?
  • [14:45] Thomas Shikami: rob, can you modify your shirt?
  • [14:45] Thomas Shikami: let's do an experiment
  • [14:46] Thickbrick Sleaford: btw, hitting Ctrl+Shift+T shows all of Rob properly
  • [14:46] Thickbrick Sleaford: so the bake is here somewhere
  • [14:46] Sheet Spotter: I don't have a 2c88ec7 in my cache. Can I borrow one from someone? :-)
  • [14:46] Rob Linden: mods shirt....
  • [14:46] Techwolf Lupindo: I got the "LLViewerImage::setIsMissingAsset: 2c88ec70" twice in my console.
  • [14:46] Thickbrick Sleaford: *Ztrl+Alt+T
  • [14:46] Thomas Shikami: set the Wrinkles slider of your shirt to 0
  • [14:46] Thickbrick Sleaford: correction, the hair is still gray in highlight-transparent mode
  • [14:47] Thomas Shikami: how about me?
  • [14:47] Aimee Trescothick: change hair Rob?
  • [14:47] Elric Ember: LLVOAvatar::updateMeshTextures: invalid host for object: bea6e119-637b-4ab3-a4e0-b9a3246c0337
  • [14:47] Rob Linden: ok....I've ironed my shirt ;-)
  • [14:47] Morgaine Dinova: Same as Elric
  • [14:47] Techwolf Lupindo: Same. (1.23.3)
  • [14:48] Sheet Spotter: No change here. Would altering the color force a new bake?
  • [14:48] Rob Linden: mods hair
  • [14:48] Melinda Latynina: try a different shirt maybe?
  • [14:49] Morgaine Dinova: wonders if this is a sneaky way to change Rob's wardrobe :P
  • [14:49] Aimee Trescothick: LOL
  • [14:49] Elric Ember: After yuo updated hair, LLViewerImage::setIsMissingAsset: 2c88ec70-d6c9-5a9c-45a9-ce2e10a7aaf6: Marking image as missing appears twice
  • [14:49] Phantom Ninetails: lol
  • [14:49] Melinda Latynina: hehe, take it off rob!
  • [14:49] Techwolf Lupindo: Just had a burst of texture download...i'me zoomed on rob.
  • [14:50] Rob Linden: changes into "boy next door" shirt
  • [14:50] Aimee Trescothick: the cube in the middle has 2c88ec70-d6c9-5a9c-45a9-ce2e10a7aaf6 on it now, which might be why it's coming up twice
  • [14:50] Merov Linden: Yeap, "Highlight transparent" is showing the gray shirt
  • [14:50] Sheet Spotter: With the texture console open, when I place the mouse over your chest it shows the 2c88ec7 with a status of MIS (missing texture).
  • [14:50] Techwolf Lupindo: Same here. -T show shirt.
  • [14:51] Techwolf Lupindo: Got a MIS transfer now
  • [14:51] Sheet Spotter: Yup. Highlight transparent shows your full shirt correctly.
  • [14:51] Thomas Shikami: the baked texture shows wrinkles for me still
  • [14:51] Morgaine Dinova: 2009-06-11T21:49:20Z WARNING: processAvatarAppearance: AvatarAppearance msg received without any parameters, object: bea6e119-637b-4ab3-a4e0-b9a3246c0337
  • [14:51] Latif Khalifa: upperBaked texture is clearly wrong
  • [14:51] Sheet Spotter: Even thought the MIS is still present.
  • [14:51] Elric Ember: same as Morgaine :)
  • [14:51] Melinda Latynina: did u change shirts yet? why didn't that work?
  • [14:52] Techwolf Lupindo: That shirt may have some leftover alpha stuff. What channel did they use for alpha? Bump map?
  • [14:52] Sheet Spotter: Rob, try ALT-SHIFT-T (highlight transparent) and your shirt will appear.
  • [14:52] Thomas Shikami: they used to put wrinkles information into alpha channel
  • [14:52] Latif Khalifa: his baked textures should not have alpha chanel at all
  • [14:52] Techwolf Lupindo: Got it.
  • [14:52] Twisted Laws: ah i see u
  • [14:52] Techwolf Lupindo: I see you
  • [14:52] Aimee Trescothick: ah ha
  • [14:52] Melinda Latynina: ctrl-alt-T u mean
  • [14:52] Sheet Spotter: Darn, now you fixed it. LOL
  • [14:52] Latif Khalifa: yeah now rob appears
  • [14:52] Thomas Shikami: wow
  • [14:53] Thomas Shikami: how the heck
  • [14:53] Merov Linden: fixed... what did you do Rob?
  • [14:53] Thomas Shikami: that is an impossible baked texture
  • [14:53] Techwolf Lupindo: Got about three-four texture transfers and you baked.
  • [14:53] Melinda Latynina: yep, fixed now
  • [14:53] Elric Ember: still shirt with tie, not Boy Next Door shirt yet
  • [14:53] Sheet Spotter: Yup. My bad. CTRL-ALT-T.
  • [14:53] Thickbrick Sleaford: lol, now I see Rob's upper body, but nothing below the waist
  • [14:53] Rob Linden: hillarious....now my legs are gone
  • [14:53] Aimee Trescothick: yep, he's legless
  • [14:53] Morgaine Dinova: LOL
  • [14:53] Phantom Ninetails: I still see the striped shirt with tie, nothing changed on 1.22
  • [14:53] Merov Linden: not for me
  • [14:53] Darv Linden: I'm seeing the legs fine
  • [14:53] Geneko Nemeth: I still see the legs... and the new shirt.
  • [14:53] Techwolf Lupindo: I'me seeing Rob ok now.
  • [14:53] Thomas Shikami: the baked texture is fully solid now, I haven't seen anything like that before
  • [14:53] Rob Linden: I took off the boy next door shirt
  • [14:54] Twisted Laws: i see Rob normal (legs, shirt, no holes) now
  • [14:54] Melinda Latynina: try the world's best hat
  • [14:54] Rob Linden: lol
  • [14:54] Phantom Ninetails: I wonder how the baking was getting corrupt.
  • [14:54] Sheet Spotter: I'm seeing Rob normal, and no MIS textures.
  • [14:54] Thomas Shikami: it was a baking frmo 1.22 maybe
  • [14:54] Thomas Shikami: a cached one
  • [14:55] Melinda Latynina: so why didnt' we see the other shirt?
  • [14:55] Rob Linden: not sure...that was strange
  • [14:55] Rob Linden: more changes....
  • [14:55] Melinda Latynina: try again?
  • [14:55] Techwolf Lupindo: I have a feeling the bug lies somewhere on the server. Only other one is somewhere, alppha channel is getting use/corrupted in the viewer.
  • [14:55] Thomas Shikami: no no no, it was a correct bake
  • [14:55] Morgaine Dinova: 2009-06-11T21:55:04Z WARNING: updateMeshTextures: updateMeshTextures: invalid host for object: 5555bfea-06fb-49a4-be3d-77ecf0ec029a
  • [14:55] Thomas Shikami: but from a 1.22 viewer
  • [14:55] Morgaine Dinova: Two like that, different UUIDs
  • [14:55] Thomas Shikami: Rob, have you dressed while using 1.22 before?
  • [14:55] Techwolf Lupindo: I see new bake.
  • [14:56] Phantom Ninetails: I see I'm not the only one who uses physics+temp to delete things
  • [14:56] Melinda Latynina: ok, i see the new shirt
  • [14:56] Rob Linden: Thomas: I imagine I did at some point
  • [14:56] Soft Linden:  :>
  • [14:56] Sheet Spotter: I'm see a horizontal striped shirt, and two new texture downloads.
  • [14:56] Phantom Ninetails: :3
  • [14:56] Elric Ember: new bake too, with LLTexStaticImageList::deleteChacedImages: Clearing Static Textures KB GL:1536KB TGA:183KB
  • [14:57] Morgaine Dinova: Two of them, matching the two invalid host packets
  • [14:57] Merov Linden: new shirt here. you switched to 1.22 Rob?
  • [14:57] Rob Linden: Merov: nope, Snowglobe the whole time
  • [14:57] Thomas Shikami: I gonna do the same, that I think happened here. Download of Snowglobe is at 51%
  • [14:57] Merov Linden: man... the plot thickens...
  • [14:57] Thomas Shikami: I'll try reproducing the bug
  • [14:57] Sheet Spotter: Any idea how you became invisible in the first place?
  • [14:58] Merov Linden: may be only a problem with the alpha channel?
  • [14:58] Techwolf Lupindo: I think alpha channel is being set somewhere, but not being used, hence all invisiable on viewers that have alpha rendering support.
  • [14:59] Thomas Shikami: the viewer especially marks baked textures that are used with bumpmapping
  • [14:59] Thickbrick Sleaford: the confusion between wrinkles and alpha sounds plausible, no?
  • [14:59] Thomas Shikami: it sets something into the comment of the J2C bytestream
  • [14:59] Sheet Spotter: It was very curios that highlight invisble made his invisible shirt appear correct (i.e., not highlighted in red).
  • [14:59] Thomas Shikami: RGBMH or something
  • [14:59] Thomas Shikami: lemme check
  • [14:59] Morgaine Dinova: Good 2009-06-11T21:59:22Z WARNING: updateMeshTextures: updateMeshTextures: invalid host for object: 67e81c1a-fc36-4876-847d-20b6f4ad023b
  • [15:00] Morgaine Dinova: X 2 again, different UUIDs
  • [15:00] Aimee Trescothick: I think that turns off the Alpha avatar stuff Sheet, to make it possible to find invisible avatars
  • [15:00] Thickbrick Sleaford: Sheet, it doesn't use the normal alpha rendering, rather it either masks a pixel or not
  • [15:00] Techwolf Lupindo: According to the OH about the new alpha, -T will show alpha as no-alpha instead of red on avatars.
  • [15:01] Sheet Spotter: I wish I knew how to repro the invisble chest, so I could dig deeper.
  • [15:01] Melinda Latynina: sheet: that's a good point. i'm sure hihlight transparent whould have made parts of his shirt red if there had been any alpha. that suggests that alpha may sometimes be taken from the wrong channel?
  • [15:01] Phantom Ninetails: Melinda, highlight transparent is supposed to work that way on avatars
  • [15:02] Darv Linden: Just got two missing again....
  • [15:02] Sheet Spotter: For example, checking the effect of the "Avatar Rendering" options in the Preferences.
  • [15:02] Darv Linden: Geneko is one of them
  • [15:02] Geneko Nemeth:  ?!
  • [15:02] Morgaine Dinova: Another invalid host message, different UUID.
  • [15:02] Rob Linden: okee doke. we're out of time here, and I'm getting pinged back in the office, so we should probably wrap up for now
  • [15:03] Geneko Nemeth: But I'm on 1.23.
  • [15:03] Thomas Shikami: there
  • [15:03] Thomas Shikami: comment_text = LINDEN_J2C_COMMENT_PREFIX "RGBHM"; // 5 channels: rgb, heightfield/alpha, mask
  • [15:03] Rob Linden: this is a pretty easy repro, I think.
  • [15:03] Thomas Shikami: in lltexlayer.cpp of a 1.22 viewer
  • [15:03] Phantom Ninetails: Fare well Rob
  • [15:03] Phantom Ninetails: AAaaaaaaa did the region almost crash there it was it just me
  • [15:03] Sheet Spotter: If someone can repro it, where is the best place to announce it? SNOW-8?
  • [15:03] Thomas Shikami: that effectively sets the comment field of J2C to LL_RGBHM
  • [15:03] Rob Linden: Sheet Spotter: yeah, additional information there would be handy
  • [15:04] Morgaine Dinova: Cyu Rob, tc
  • [15:04] Thomas Shikami: for baked textures that have wrinkle information
  • [15:04] Melinda Latynina: geneko's lower body texture is gray for me
  • [15:04] Rob Linden: thanks for your help everyone. we'll be on irc.efnet.org #opensl
  • [15:05] Rob Linden: we may want to convene more impromptu repro attempts later, which we'll coordinate there and/or on sldev@
  • [15:05] Thomas Shikami: so if the texture has LL_RGBHM in the comment field, do not interprete the 4th channel as alpha
  • [15:05] Rob Linden: thanks for coming...feel free to keep chipping away at this here.
  • [15:05] Thickbrick Sleaford: baking bugs discriminate against antisocial people
  • [15:06] Rob Linden: bye
  • [15:06] Sheet Spotter: Does anyone know how to create the transaprent chest?
  • [15:06] Thomas Shikami: yes, I gonna do it in a second
