- [2:36] Louise Linden: [1]
- [2:36] Louise Linden: first on the list is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8989
- [2:36] Louise Linden: Turn off 'Show Tips' option should disable the button tips
- [2:37] Cummere Mayo: smiles. if you had the agenda open for a bit please refresh, i did some minor editing
- [2:37] Qie Niangao: (note that this one goes back to September and ancient clients)
- [2:39] Louise Linden: yes it's an old one
- [2:39] Cummere Mayo: should be an fr not a bug, but other then that seems straightforward and logical to me
- [2:39] Davy Linden: I agree
- [2:39] Davy Linden: move to FR?
- [2:39] Louise Linden: yes please
- [2:39] Davy Linden: k
- [2:39] Opensource Obscure: i don't see why it's a FR
- [2:39] Cummere Mayo: what ild suggest and then import
- [2:40] Louise Linden: (FR = feature request)
- [2:40] Ludmilia Zapedzki: thank you Louise :)
- [2:40] Ludmilia Zapedzki: I did not dare to ask lol
- [2:40] Opensource Obscure: tips are showed when option is set to hide tips.
- [2:40] Cummere Mayo: opensource, becuase this was deliberately left out of the tips that got toggled
- [2:40] Opensource Obscure: oh. was it?
- [2:40] Louise Linden: yup
- [2:41] Opensource Obscure: ok, but please add a comment there then and explain it. it's not obvious to me
- [2:41] Louise Linden: davy are you ok to add that comment?
- [2:41] Opensource Obscure: does anyone know if tips add any lag when enabled?
- [2:41] Davy Linden: sure
- [2:41] Opensource Obscure: (i meant tips on all objects)
- [2:42] Louise Linden: opensource I wouldn't know for sure, but it's highly unlikely they would severaly impact UI performace
- [2:42] Opensource Obscure: cool, thanks.
- [2:42] Louise Linden: some people just find them irritating!!
- [2:42] Cummere Mayo: if turning them on or off casues lag its too miniscule to notice
- [2:42] Qie Niangao: that's a good question. whether all that info is shipped to the viewer with or without tips... would be good to know that, actually.
- [2:42] Louise Linden: but don't quote me on that!
- [2:42] Cummere Mayo: at least for me
- [2:42] Opensource Obscure: yeah Qie, you're wording it better.
- [2:43] Cummere Mayo: shrugs and guesses it would be
- [2:43] Louise Linden: it's not something Davy or I could answer you, maybe take a look at the KB and see if there is any info there
- [2:43] Louise Linden: so moving on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13324
- [2:44] Louise Linden: RC 1.23 is slower than molasses
- [2:44] DMC Zsigmond: Hi Guys ;)
- [2:44] Cummere Mayo: smiles slightly pleased to see shes not th only one that feels this way
- [2:44] Louise Linden: Hi DMC
- [2:44] Cummere Mayo: hello dmc
- [2:44] Ludmilia Zapedzki: hello DMC :)
- [2:44] Techwolf Lupindo: I'me working on some scripts/benmarks and hope to have a prelemery report at the open source meeting. *crosses paws*
- [2:44] Qie Niangao: Is there h/w specifics on this? Mac only? PPC Mac with ATI graphics only? something like that, by any chance?
- [2:45] Cummere Mayo: well i have three differant pcs
- [2:45] Cummere Mayo: all three of them suffer this
- [2:45] Techwolf Lupindo: This is due to i'me experencing severl client side slowdowns also.
- [2:46] Cummere Mayo: mainly i think this is a combination of a cumulation of all the memory leaks and the rendering slowdowns in 1.23
- [2:47] Lillie Yifu: Hello everyone
- [2:47] Yann Dufaux: hello :)
- [2:47] Latif Khalifa: hi
- [2:47] Ludmilia Zapedzki: hello Lillie and Yann :)
- [2:47] Cummere Mayo: hello all that just got here :)
- [2:47] Louise Linden: hi!
- [2:47] Saijanai Kuhn: behold the power of [atenite
- [2:47] Yann Dufaux: oops!
- [2:47] Saijanai Kuhn: latenite*
- [2:48] Louise Linden: late for some! start of the day for me! :)
- [2:48] Lillie Yifu: well no one needed help with hardware
- [2:48] Lillie Yifu: so I thought I wuold come
- [2:48] Saijanai Kuhn: are you in Japan, Louise?
- [2:48] Yann Dufaux: Louise what your time zone? :)
- [2:48] Louise Linden: Davy and I are in the UK office!
- [2:48] Saijanai Kuhn: ah, OK
- [2:48] Cummere Mayo: its 530 am for me
- [2:49] Saijanai Kuhn: GMT then or thereabouts
- [2:49] Cummere Mayo: so early morning *yawns*
- [2:49] Yann Dufaux: oh, same place of Katrin ok i understend :)
- [2:49] Arabella Steadham: 9.50pm thursday for me
- [2:49] Louise Linden: yup!
- [2:49] Yann Dufaux: say hello to katrin for me :)
- [2:49] Louise Linden: will do!
- [2:49] Cummere Mayo: anyways... this slowness on 1.23 is something ive heard complained about allot so can we get qa to look at it?
- [2:49] Louise Linden: right so back to the bug,
- [2:49] Opensource Obscure: w're discussing https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13324
- [2:49] Yann Dufaux: yep:)
- [2:49] Louise Linden: I think we could do with a few more system specs, other than PPCs
- [2:50] Opensource Obscure: ( meeting agend at [2] )
- [2:50] Louise Linden: Cummere, can you add all of yours please?
- [2:50] Cummere Mayo: I can add one of them right now.
- [2:50] Opensource Obscure: i'll try to reproduce it on Linux
- [2:50] Techwolf Lupindo: I can verfiy that, happens on linux
- [2:50] Cummere Mayo: without pulling up my other jiras i cant recall the specks of the other two off my head. sorry im too tired
- [2:50] Louise Linden: Davy if we can addd a comment for system specs and any locations where this is really noticble, then we could look to possibly import this next week
- [2:50] Davy Linden: ok
- [2:51] Techwolf Lupindo: Soemthing get overloaded in the client and fps drops to 1-5 untill the logjam clears out about a minute or two later.
- [2:51] Cummere Mayo: its grid wide
- [2:51] Cummere Mayo: EVERY location is slower on 1.23 then 1.22
- [2:51] Techwolf Lupindo: I know of two locations that can trigger it.
- [2:52] Louise Linden: all comments would be greatly appreciated in the jira ;) the more info we have the better
- [2:52] Cummere Mayo: and im adding one system now
- [2:52] Louise Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13435
- [2:52] Louise Linden: Snapshot preview does not match viewport view or texture loaded
- [2:53] Davy Linden: This was discussed at Bambers' triage last night and will be imported
- [2:53] Louise Linden: cool, I'll move on then!
- [2:53] Yann Dufaux: louise, i have two snapshot with no longer exist warrning, and [recipient
- [2:54] Louise Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13572
- [2:54] Louise Linden: Very poor graphic performance with Second Life 1.23.1 (119104)
- [2:54] DMC Zsigmond: I cannot confirm VWR-13324 on latest ATI hardware x64 AMD
- [2:54] Techwolf Lupindo: don't look at 7709 unless you want your jaw to drop.
- [2:54] Lillie Yifu: ?
- [2:54] DMC Zsigmond: no change
- [2:54] Delerium Hannibal: 7709?
- [2:54] Lillie Yifu: You will ahve to fill those of us joinging from another program
- [2:54] Techwolf Lupindo: meta bug list for snapshots. It un-belivally long.
- [2:55] Delerium Hannibal: lol
- [2:55] Lillie Yifu: ah
- [2:55] Louise Linden: right so i think this bug might be a dupe of the one we just went over
- [2:55] Delerium Hannibal: just well filled in.
- [2:55] Cummere Mayo: snapshot system simply needs replaced. it would be faster and more effective then fixing all the bugs
- [2:55] Saijanai Kuhn: should offer plugin hooks to third parties
- [2:55] Lillie Yifu: I take screen shots with a utility
- [2:55] Lillie Yifu: I gave up on screenshot agesa ago
- [2:55] Saijanai Kuhn: me 2
- [2:56] Yann Dufaux: vid reprod to, if is intermitant bugs :)
- [2:56] Louise Linden: the screenshot issue is being imported, it has already been triaged!
- [2:56] Delerium Hannibal: I screenshot to disk then upload it. I disliked the "high quality snapshot" feature being disabled
- [2:56] Cummere Mayo: lousie i dont think this is a straight dupe
- [2:56] Louise Linden: why's that?
- [2:57] Cummere Mayo: related defiantely, but i think if anything that the last one is more of a general this one is one of the specific areas
- [2:57] Louise Linden: they both complain of frame rate slow down
- [2:58] Lillie Yifu: 1.23 is unusalby slow for me
- [2:58] Cummere Mayo: but that can be caused by lots of things
- [2:58] Lillie Yifu: unusably*
- [2:58] Cummere Mayo: and the slowdowns listed in the first are much more pornounced then the second
- [2:59] Tillie Ariantho: No problem with performance on XP SP3 and Vista SP1.
- [2:59] Cummere Mayo: tillie, one of my comps is vista
- [2:59] Delerium Hannibal: I like 13572. more info
- [2:59] Tillie Ariantho: When I switch to windowed, the fps drop to half. but fullscreen is all well.
- [2:59] Cummere Mayo: and i get 1/3 of the fps and other measures fo speed and performace on it then i do on 1.22
- [3:00] Davy Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13282 is already imported
- [3:00] Davy Linden: I don't see anything to distinguish thi from that
- [3:00] Delerium Hannibal: but I get the same framerate Nooo matter what on my system
- [3:00] Tillie Ariantho: I got 20 fps right now, fullscreen, vista, 2560x1600 and 16xQ antialiasing, so not that bad. :)
- [3:00] Arabella Steadham: I will relog in RC
- [3:00] Louise Linden: there is no need to import 3 bugs with the same problem, it won't speed up fixes! if anything it would slow potential fixes down
- [3:00] DMC Zsigmond: another 2cents worth, Windows 7RC1, offers a 5-10fps boost on AMD spider/dragon hardware.
- [3:01] Qie Niangao: hmmm... just checking: this isn't just for anti-aliasing on, or basic shaders off, is it?
- [3:01] Cummere Mayo: if 13282 is imported then resolve the one we're looking at as a dupe
- [3:01] Saijanai Kuhn: sorry to interupt, but if I missed inviting anyone to AW Groupies, please IM me. I'm about to go a f k for about 6 hours or so...zzzzzzz
- [3:01] Louise Linden: right Davy mark as dupe please
- [3:02] Louise Linden: next up is: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12960
- [3:02] Louise Linden: Fisheye effect camera
- [3:02] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:02] Yann Dufaux: Davy can you verify if is same of this bugs? VWR-13045 for 13282 ?
- [3:03] Louise Linden: so Alexa has already asked for more infor for this bug
- [3:03] Davy Linden: yann - those don't look similar at all
- [3:04] Louise Linden: we really need a rough idea for a repro.
- [3:04] Cummere Mayo: she has and we havent gotten it yet. probably ild say mark with the updated triage and move on
- [3:04] Yann Dufaux: Davy, but i have noticed this if i active the ant ..
- [3:04] Yann Dufaux: aw, the space is to fast here ..
- [3:05] Louise Linden: Davy mark as last triaged, if we don't get a repro soon, we migh have to considr closing as CNR
- [3:05] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:05] Cummere Mayo: i paged tayra about ti
- [3:05] Cummere Mayo: *it
- [3:05] Louise Linden: next up is: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13080
- [3:06] Louise Linden: Chat-lag Notification missing group name target
- [3:06] Delerium Hannibal: I've had problems with the camera adjusting it's focal distance to produce that same effect. but it wasn't isolated by the RC viewer, it's always done that. and zoom reset always fixed it
- [3:06] Saijanai Kuhn: that started biting me recently. Especially in certain groups
- [3:07] Cummere Mayo: yeah i noticed this. its not all the time though
- [3:07] Louise Linden: Yeah I actually had this happen this morning
- [3:07] Ludmilia Zapedzki: yes, it's really frequent
- [3:07] Louise Linden: Its already in our internal jira
- [3:07] Cummere Mayo: usually i get the name of the group, but not always.
- [3:07] Delerium Hannibal: related, I've been getting alot of group messages pop up then close with an error recently too
- [3:07] Louise Linden: We'll find the jira number and link them togther, as it's already being looked at
- [3:07] Ellla McMahon: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Group_Chat_Failure_Messages
- [3:08] Cummere Mayo: is the internal for the group name missing louise?
- [3:08] Saijanai Kuhn: I had warning that group session no longer exists and THEN the tab opens up
- [3:08] Cummere Mayo: or jsut for the failure in general?
- [3:08] Delerium Hannibal: thats the one saij
- [3:08] Ellla McMahon: SVC-1509 Error message when starting group IM session Alexa posted on this issue
- [3:08] Saijanai Kuhn: tried to implement group IM in the python test client... bounced off it several times. Its rather odd
- [3:08] Louise Linden: I don't have the jira's to hand cummere, but I believe we have jiras for the failure and group name
- [3:08] Qie Niangao: right: I would think the devs would benefit from seeing all the symptoms linked together.
- [3:09] Saijanai Kuhn: took enus a while to pickk everyone's brain to get it right in pyogp
- [3:09] Louise Linden: if we don't then I'll get this imported
- [3:09] Cummere Mayo: okay, was jsut asking :-/
- [3:10] Qie Niangao: possibly MISC-389 is meta
- [3:10] Louise Linden: next is: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13303
- [3:10] Louise Linden: Local Lighting & Atmospheric Shaders
- [3:10] Cummere Mayo: i -think- this may be a dupe
- [3:11] Delerium Hannibal: not sure but I can confirm that.
- [3:11] Delerium Hannibal: noticed it the other day that a local light wouldn't show up unless I actually edited the prim
- [3:11] Cummere Mayo: at the very least its probably related to all the snapshot bugs where these filters arent rendered... (is wiating for jira search to laod)
- [3:11] Ludmilia Zapedzki: as for me
- [3:14] Louise Linden: is anyone else experiencing this?
- [3:14] Arabella Steadham: not me
- [3:14] Ludmilia Zapedzki: I noticed it
- [3:14] Delerium Hannibal: actually I can see the local lights in here right now, so it's intermittant I would say
- [3:14] Cummere Mayo: me blinks at all the related issues seems atmosphereic shaders are borked and have been for some people for a long time
- [3:15] Lillie Yifu: they work for me.. just very slowly
- [3:15] Cummere Mayo: VWR-13110 is related, but im not seeing an exact dupe after all so i change my vote to import
- [3:15] Ludmilia Zapedzki: yes, Delerium, it's not always happening
- [3:16] Cummere Mayo: also VWR-3243 is similar (and much older) possibly related?
- [3:16] Louise Linden: This could possibly be a dupe, as I know there have been issues.
- [3:17] Louise Linden: ok davy, do you want to look for a dupe and take it from there?
- [3:17] Qie Niangao: I've had much better luck with local lighting ever since i turned off Advanced/Rendering/Attached Lights ;)
- [3:18] Cummere Mayo: im not sure we could easily tell in the pjira a search for local lights and atmosheric shaders brought back allot of results. maybe check the internal one ?
- [3:18] Louise Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13369
- [3:18] Louise Linden: Small and zoomed objects (prims) flickering
- [3:18] Delerium Hannibal: wow nice qie. didn't know that was there
- [3:18] Delerium Hannibal: as the room just got really dark
- [3:19] Delerium Hannibal: camera jitter
- [3:20] Lillie Yifu: eijos everyone
- [3:20] Lillie Yifu: tiem for me to leave for rl work'
- [3:20] Yann Dufaux: its reprodctible with the space nav?
- [3:20] Louise Linden: this original report is Win7
- [3:20] Louise Linden: which is not supported yet
- [3:20] Yann Dufaux: i have win7 :)
- [3:21] Louise Linden: and the second report doesnt mention viewer number
- [3:21] Cummere Mayo: Second Life 1.23.1 (119104)
- [3:21] Louise Linden: i think this is NMI, as we need full specs, and need to identify if this affects supported platforms
- [3:21] Delerium Hannibal: well.... does it for me right here
- [3:21] Tillie Ariantho: Prims disappearing on zoom in I reported too, was about attached hair.
- [3:21] Cummere Mayo: and the other says official release
- [3:21] Cummere Mayo: so thats 1.22.11
- [3:22] Delerium Hannibal: and my OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
- [3:22] Louise Linden: the third report is actually a seperate issue
- [3:22] Delerium Hannibal: so I can confirm
- [3:23] Louise Linden: Delerium can you add your findings to the jira please?
- [3:23] Cummere Mayo: theres an xp build listed in the comments here with the same issue as well
- [3:23] Delerium Hannibal: sure
- [3:23] Cummere Mayo: second comment down
- [3:23] Delerium Hannibal: although my cpu is intel
- [3:24] Cummere Mayo: OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
- [3:24] Louise Linden: there is a chance this may be a dupe, Davy, could you take a look, if not can you import
- [3:24] Davy Linden: will do
- [3:25] DMC Zsigmond: i can't confirm the small prims issue
- [3:25] Delerium Hannibal: added my specs to the comments
- [3:25] Louise Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13353
- [3:25] Louise Linden: Can't override default command line arguments
- [3:25] Louise Linden: *thanks delerium
- [3:25] Yann Dufaux: i eerease my prims :)
- [3:25] Delerium Hannibal: oddly, my prim just got returned, but my camera is in the same spot
- [3:26] Delerium Hannibal: when someone bumped me, my camera went crazy
- [3:26] Delerium Hannibal: never mind... my avatar went into the cameras range..thats why
- [3:27] Louise Linden: hmm there is a chance this is behaving as expected
- [3:27] Louise Linden: as they are trying to specify the same param twice
- [3:28] Louise Linden: Davy, can we get one of our Linux guys to take a look and confirm either way?
- [3:28] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:28] Tillie Ariantho: But shouldnt command line params override any config file settings?
- [3:28] Techwolf Lupindo: Yes it should.
- [3:28] Cummere Mayo: they should
- [3:28] Tillie Ariantho: Thats how it works, usually, elsewhere.
- [3:29] Cummere Mayo: *Shrugs*
- [3:29] Cummere Mayo: louise do we have time to hit the last one?
- [3:29] Delerium Hannibal: and any duplicates should probably overwrite previous ones
- [3:29] Louise Linden: nope, sorry!
- [3:29] Louise Linden: we almost made it to the end!
- [3:30] Techwolf Lupindo: And due to wrapper script, same param can be speced twice, in that case, the last one wins.
- [3:30] Techwolf Lupindo: should win that is.
- [3:30] Louise Linden: the linux one will get looked into, if it is a bug, we will import it and go and look into it!
- [3:30] Cummere Mayo: well last one should abene a flat out import at this point. cuase tayra put the info we were gonna request as an nmi but ill try and see it get bounced to monday then
- [3:30] Louise Linden: OK thanks everyone for showing up!!
- [3:31] Davy Linden: thanks all
- [3:31] Yann Dufaux: yw :)
- [3:31] DMC Zsigmond: many returns :)
- [3:31] Louise Linden: we'll see you all next week hopefully! :)
