Volcano Subcontinent (or Volcano Sims) is a Subcontinent located in North Sansara. It is one of the most known Geographic regions of the continent and attracts many visitors.

Structure

There are two distinct structures here: East Volcano Islands and West Volcano Islands. Each one has its own features, but also many similarities.

East Volcano Islands

This is what many people call the main volcano sims. They are in fact formed of a single island, with a complicated network of peninsulas emerging from the central volcano, Mount G'al. Each peninsula has its own mountain range, decreasing from Mount G'al and finally ending close to where the peninsula ends. A large system of rivers emerges from the volcano, making it the most complex hydrographic network on the grid. These rivers find their way between peninsulas and have many waterfalls. Sometimes they create small lakes. Also, it is important to note that there is an endorheic river (that doesn't flow into the ocean). Ground texture is a bit darker, to resemble the soil around an active volcano. There are a few small islands around the main island.

Mount G'al is the highest spot in North Sansara, with an Altitude of 178 meters. It is a dangerous place to be. If you touch the lava, you might die. It is an important feature, its cone full with lava can be seen even on the world map as a red spot. Close to it, there is a woman of fire.

The other islands are small. One of them, mount Uli, hosts an extinct volcano with a very large cone, flooded. It is 65 meters high.

West Volcano Islands

They are two islands without an official name. The Yava Script Pods tour name them just Northern Islands. They hose an inactive volcano, Quat Lake, that is private-owned and has a lake on its cone. The main island has a few smaller peninsulas. A main mountain range follows the whole island as a backbone, with smaller ranges along the peninsulas. The other island, much smaller, has similar mountains. There are no river, except for a the water that flows from Quat Lake through a long waterfall. Ground texture is lighter, like that of a mountain place. It looks like the volcano is extinct for a long time.

Mount Quat is 140 meters high and is the second highest peak in Northern Sansara. It is private-owned, but visitors are welcomed to enter.

Transportation

East Volcano Island has a road network consisting of a belt ring with smaller routes that enter deeper to the volcano or exit through the peninsulas. Bridges can be seen over the many rivers. The island is linked with bridges to Eastern region of Sansara. West Volcano Islands have their own road network, not connected to the continent. Almost all road length is a suspended bridge.

Automated Transportation exists. Yava Script Pods are seen often on their tours here. Second Life Transport Authority has bases in the area and so SLTA cars can often be seen. SLGI Trains make a stop at the bridge that connects the two West Volcano Islands.

All these islands are surrounded by protected waterways, so navigation must be an important way to get across. However, the presence of many waterfalls makes it hard for sailors to enter the wild mountain rivers en route to mount G'al.

East Volcano Islands also host an airport.
