- [14:58] Torley Linden: AHHH MY EYES!
- [14:58] Torley Linden: Friendly greetings!
- [14:58] Chaos Mohr: ctrl + alt + shift + =
- [14:58] Squirrel Wood: and an invisible object...
- [14:58] Daedalus Young: hi Torley
- [14:58] Torley Linden: It's like a John Carpenter movie.
- [14:58] Torley Linden: Hey Daed!
- [14:58] Torley Linden: Hi Aric!
- [14:59] Aric Linden: hi Torley
- [14:59] Aric Linden: hi all
- [14:59] Chaos Mohr: Torly :)
- [14:59] Squirrel Wood: Hellu ^^
- [14:59] Aric Linden: I thought I was in the wrong movie for a bit
- [14:59] Chaos Mohr: Hi Aric :)
- [14:59] Aric Linden: hello Chaos
- [14:59] Squirrel Wood: Any chance you can return the stuff? ^^
- [14:59] Torley Linden: Oh yeah, sure.
- [14:59] Entering god: mode, level 200
- [14:59] BugTest Dumpling: Bah
- [14:59] BugTest Dumpling: Can't see
- [14:59] Squirrel Wood: along with the motorcycle below at the bottom of the watery pit ?
- [14:59] Torley Linden: OK OK...
- [15:00] BugTest Dumpling: What did Torley do? -.-
- [15:00] BugTest Dumpling: lol
- [15:00] Aric Linden: torley, is that a totero with a diaper?
- [15:00] Torley Linden: Aric, no diaper, LOL, maybe just awkward seating on my part!
- [15:00] BugTest Dumpling: rofl
- [15:00] Aric Linden: ahh
- [15:01] Torley Linden: Go away, foggies!
- [15:01] Aric Linden: sorry. didn't mean to be, um personal, you know
- [15:01] Torley Linden: Hahahahaha.
- [15:01] Torley Linden: =)
- [15:01] Daedalus Young: fog-be-gone
- [15:01] Aric Linden: so, do we have an agenda?
- [15:01] Squirrel Wood: [1]
- [15:01] Squirrel Wood: lots on it it seems
- [15:02] Daedalus Young: lot of patches for Solaris port
- [15:02] Torley Linden: Wow, Whoops Babii did a lot there.
- [15:02] Torley Linden: Soft Linden knows what to do with those, I believe.
- [15:02] Aric Linden: wow. lots of stuff today
- [15:03] Aric Linden: so, let's start our engines
- [15:03] Torley Linden: I'll ping Soft about the Solaris stuff too just so he knows...
- [15:03] Aric Linden: It looks as though Alexa won't be attending today.
- [15:03] BugTest Dumpling: : )
- [15:04] Daedalus Young: hi Rob
- [15:04] Torley Linden: Hiya Rob!
- [15:04] Chaos Mohr: Hiya Rob :)
- [15:04] Squirrel Wood: Yay! Rob!
- [15:04] Aric Linden: hi Rob
- [15:04] Rob Linden: howdy
- [15:04] Aric Linden: VWR-4570 is up first
- [15:04] Rob Linden: what's the really annoying motor sound?
- [15:05] Rob Linden: wonders if we should redo the query
- [15:05] Squirrel Wood: the motorcycle way below
- [15:05] Aric Linden: the agenda query?
- [15:05] Squirrel Wood: at the bottom of the sea
- [15:05] Rob Linden: yeah. go ahead and handle VWR-4570
- [15:05] Aric Linden: k
- [15:05] Squirrel Wood: 4570 is annoying...
- [15:06] Rob Linden: ...and I'll generate an RC-centric agenda
- [15:06] Torley Linden: Squirrel, there was like, a vehicle junkyard there. I returned several.
- [15:06] Aric Linden: Friends list is not loading, Stuck on (Waiting)
- [15:06] Squirrel Wood: had it once... 95% or more on my friend list was (Waiting) and some were (Hippos)
- [15:06] Torley Linden: I've seen VWR-4570 in recent memory too, a lot.
- [15:06] Daedalus Young: I've seen that too, stayed that way forever
- [15:06] Torley Linden: Haha Josh, great group title. :)
- [15:07] Torley Linden: *wonders if Josh already saw [2] *
- [15:07] Joshua Linden: Narf!
- [15:07] Squirrel Wood: [3] ^^
- [15:07] Aric Linden: [4]
- [15:07] Aric Linden: posting for Josh
- [15:08] BugTest Dumpling: Rob, you ruth alot lol
- [15:08] Joshua Linden: Thanks, Aric
- [15:08] Aric Linden: so I think w/regard to 4570, we should take it in
- [15:08] Aric Linden: Joshua: np
- [15:08] Torley Linden: I agree, Aric.
- [15:08] Torley Linden: Sounds like a good idea to me.
- [15:08] Aric Linden: yep. Rascalle seems to have more lag problems than some, but he's not alone here
- [15:09] Joshua Linden: wonders if it correlates with inventory volume
- [15:09] Torley Linden: I'll be the PJIRA jockey and import it...
- [15:09] BugTest Dumpling: VWR-4570 does seem to go away with relog, mostly though
- [15:09] Aric Linden: Thanks Torley
- [15:09] Squirrel Wood: Yes.
- [15:09] Squirrel Wood: A relog usually fixes it
- [15:10] Aric Linden: Hmm, you might add that comment
- [15:10] Aric Linden: squirrel, btw, thanks for pinging the AW Groupies
- [15:10] BugTest Dumpling: Joshua, you think Inventory could cause that?
- [15:10] Rob Linden: adding RC issues
- [15:10] Squirrel Wood: Hello Enus :)
- [15:11] Enus Linden: Hi Squirrel
- [15:11] Joshua Linden: There was some interesting chatter on SLDEV today about how there are some really slow inventory operations that cause side effects. Just curious.
- [15:11] Aric Linden: Wow. it's a confluence of lindens
- [15:11] BugTest Dumpling: Inventroy, I thought that today about login issues
- [15:11] Aric Linden: I think I'll go do some other work
- [15:11] Aric Linden: :-)
- [15:11] Aric Linden: Rob, did you rerun the query?
- [15:11] Torley Linden: Hey Enus. Wow, flowing hair.
- [15:12] Torley Linden: Haha, I like that, "Legbonianista".
- [15:12] Rob Linden: yup...hit reload on [5]
- [15:12] Enus Linden: blushes
- [15:12] Aric Linden: k
- [15:12] Aric Linden: refreshing
- [15:13] BugTest Dumpling: Damn you Enus
- [15:13] Aric Linden: VWR-4338 is next
- [15:13] Enus Linden: o.O
- [15:13] Torley Linden: I remember we looked at this last week...
- [15:14] Aric Linden: was gone last week sickio
- [15:14] Torley Linden: has anyone else had/heard of someone else having this?
- [15:14] Aric Linden: enus thinks bridie struggled with this
- [15:14] Enus Linden: bridie did for a spell
- [15:14] Enus Linden: i have seen the white screen intermittently
- [15:14] Enus Linden: not often tho
- [15:14] Aric Linden: I haven't heard tell of it for an awfully long time
- [15:14] BugTest Dumpling: Oh Whiute Screen -.-
- [15:14] Squirrel Wood: 4338 not happening to me since last week
- [15:14] Torley Linden: Bridie's issue was viewer-auth specific tho.
- [15:14] Aric Linden: (long in linden minutes, not real minutes)
- [15:14] Torley Linden: (Internally, DEV-7858.)
- [15:15] Aric Linden: yep, yer right Torley
- [15:15] BugTest Dumpling: White Screen is present on the latest RC
- [15:15] Aric Linden: Have you seen it BugTest?
- [15:15] BugTest Dumpling: Alot
- [15:15] Squirrel Wood: I only ever got it on the web lognin version
- [15:16] Aric Linden: Got Logs?
- [15:16] Aric Linden: :-)
- [15:16] Aric Linden: Logs is goodness
- [15:16] BugTest Dumpling: Pictures
- [15:16] Aric Linden: hmm. logs would be happier making
- [15:16] BugTest Dumpling: Need anymore than pictures?
- [15:16] BugTest Dumpling: Logs?
- [15:16] BugTest Dumpling: Confusion, yay lol
- [15:16] Joshua Linden: Logs would be nice. The (Not Responding) in the title bar means the app has locked up
- [15:16] Aric Linden: yeah, like, crash logs.
- [15:17] BugTest Dumpling: Yep, which hapens when I get impatient and left click
- [15:17] Squirrel Wood: Wasn't there DNS failures recently, as in, yesterday? Those could have caused the most recent white screens?
- [15:17] Aric Linden: yep. so you got logs from those left clicks? that's our question
- [15:17] Aric Linden: nods at Squirrel
- [15:17] BugTest Dumpling: I don't think it does a crash log
- [15:17] Joshua Linden: Windows adds "(Not Responding)" to an app's title bar when the app stops responding to system messages.
- [15:17] BugTest Dumpling: It either recovers and logs on or it says not responding and end program
- [15:18] Joshua Linden: So the app hasn't crashed, but it isn't responding to user actions. Regardless of server activity/bugs, this shouldn't happen. So definitely a viewer bug.
- [15:18] Enus Linden: second life log on windows--- c:\Documents and Settings\{your user name}\Application Data\Second Life\logs\SecondLife.log
- [15:18] Aric Linden: here's my suggestion
- [15:18] Aric Linden: we're going to be pushing out a new RC shortly
- [15:18] Aric Linden: BugTest, if you can reproduce this problem, please submit logs (and add logs to this issue)
- [15:19] Aric Linden: and we'll revisit next week.
- [15:19] Aric Linden: work?
- [15:19] BugTest Dumpling: Sure
- [15:19] Aric Linden: thanks
- [15:19] Aric Linden: VWR-4759 is next
- [15:20] Torley Linden: This sounds very psychedelic... wonder which hardware is affected... Millie has good details tho.
- [15:20] Torley Linden: But "not experienced in WindLight", so maybe it's fixed in WL?
- [15:20] Torley Linden: (Fixed, or not an issue anymore.)
- [15:20] Squirrel Wood: OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista (Build 6000)
- [15:20] Aric Linden: yep. it'd be a little nicer to have repro steps since "sporadically" isn't very useful for devs
- [15:21] Torley Linden: Yeah... I'd suggest asking others to try WindLight, and treating that as the eventual resolution if it doesn't repro there.
- [15:21] Squirrel Wood: It is most likely vista and the outdated driver problem ?
- [15:21] Aric Linden: I wonder if Chip sees it in Vista or XP?
- [15:21] Aric Linden: Torley, could you leave a note asking and asking if it's still an issue?
- [15:21] Torley Linden: I can ask for those details. Yes!
- [15:21] Torley Linden: *notes*
- [15:21] Aric Linden: thanks
- [15:22] Aric Linden: VWR-4520 is next
- [15:22] Joshua Linden: Aric just crashed, apparently
- [15:22] Torley Linden: Arg!
- [15:23] BugTest Dumpling: Seen similar today but not on RC, on normal viewer
- [15:23] Enus Linden: pretty app window he has : )
- [15:23] Aric Linden: back
- [15:23] Aric Linden: that's was ossm
- [15:23] Enus Linden: wb
- [15:23] Torley Linden: WB!
- [15:23] Aric Linden: so BugTest, them's logs
- [15:23] Aric Linden: btw
- [15:23] Aric Linden: logs ftw!
- [15:23] BugTest Dumpling: Ja?
- [15:23] BugTest Dumpling: ftw?
- [15:23] Squirrel Wood: Vista again
- [15:23] BugTest Dumpling: What is ftw? lol
- [15:23] Torley Linden: FOR THE WIN!
- [15:24] Daedalus Young: yay
- [15:24] BugTest Dumpling: <<< Meghan Dench btw
- [15:24] Daedalus Young: ooohh
- [15:24] BugTest Dumpling: Meg is brokeneneneed again lol
- [15:24] Aric Linden: hmm. I don't think this one is vista. I think it's drivers
- [15:24] Squirrel Wood: ye. but the initial poster runs wista business
- [15:24] Squirrel Wood: vista even
- [15:24] Aric Linden: Vektor has been playing with this card the past couple of days in Windlight
- [15:25] Aric Linden: looks at Squirrel and nods
- [15:25] Chaos Mohr: fwiw, In the past week I have only crashed SL once and SL performance generally seems improved a bit since going to the final release version of Vista SP1 :)
- [15:25] Aric Linden: that's because we provided ALL Microsoft testing for SP1
- [15:25] Aric Linden: falls over
- [15:26] Aric Linden: Let's take this one
- [15:26] Aric Linden: Torley, please assign it to me
- [15:26] Aric Linden: I'd like to discuss it with Vek
- [15:27] Aric Linden: VWR-2518 is up next
- [15:27] Torley Linden: Sure.
- [15:28] Torley Linden: The summary of this one is kind of broad...
- [15:28] Aric Linden: I wonder if kimberly has undated german drivers
- [15:28] Aric Linden: updated even
- [15:29] Aric Linden: This concerns me since I can't tell whether it's pointed at WL or RC
- [15:29] Aric Linden: Torley, do you know?
- [15:29] Torley Linden: Earlier, after checking with WindLight Team, I thought WL might help...
- [15:29] Torley Linden: but apparently it didn't.
- [15:30] Torley Linden: (My comment @ https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2518?focusedCommentId=30476#action_30476 )
- [15:30] Torley Linden: I notice Rascal reopened it but wasn't terribly specific about what he means.
- [15:30] Aric Linden: I see. This issue appears to cover a huge range of things, from linux to windows drivers
- [15:30] Aric Linden: /nods about Rascalle
- [15:30] Squirrel Wood: linux to windows to mac OS
- [15:30] Aric Linden: /nods at Squirrel
- [15:30] Torley Linden: Yeah, it's not terribly actionable. :\ I'd suggest re-resolving it and confirm specific details.
- [15:31] Joshua Linden: Reading ahead a bit: I believe that VWR-4758, VWR-4644 and VWR-4753 are all the same issue, which we have a server-side fix for which should go out soon.
- [15:31] Aric Linden: nods in agreement
- [15:31] Torley Linden: Thanks Josh!
- [15:31] Aric Linden: at Torley first and then josh
- [15:31] Torley Linden: =)
- [15:31] Squirrel Wood: I do notice some performance degradation when in a busy place and performance tends to stay down even after leaving the busy place
- [15:31] Joshua Linden: Er, last one should be 4735
- [15:31] Squirrel Wood: but nothing overly severe
- [15:31] BugTest Dumpling: lol
- [15:32] Aric Linden: so we can go on to VWR-4178
- [15:32] Joshua Linden: That was discussed on SLDEV today.
- [15:33] Aric Linden: ahhs at Joshua
- [15:33] Aric Linden: hasn't read sldev today
- [15:33] Aric Linden: hangs his head
- [15:33] BugTest Dumpling: rofl
- [15:33] Joshua Linden: Ah. Short version: when we get an online/offline notification we scan the inventory to update the calling card status. And that scan is REALLY slow
- [15:33] Torley Linden: I'll link "VWR-4758, VWR-4644 and VWR-4753" together, resolve dupes.
- [15:33] Joshua Linden: AFK for a bit
- [15:34] Aric Linden: let's take this one and I'll discuss it with Joshua later
- [15:34] Aric Linden: Torley, please pass it my way
- [15:34] Squirrel Wood: A delayed update shedule may help with that?
- [15:34] Torley Linden: OK!
- [15:35] Aric Linden: might squirrel, or tracking time and if something is delayed longer than n, giving up on it
- [15:35] Aric Linden: VWR-4771 is next
- [15:35] Aric Linden: I'm sure this is a dupe
- [15:36] Aric Linden: we complain about it internally all the time
- [15:36] Squirrel Wood: 4771 - I see that happen while using the MorphVox morpher software
- [15:36] Aric Linden: nods
- [15:36] Squirrel Wood: and usually I just restart morphvox to fix it
- [15:36] Torley Linden: That kind of noise is awful!
- [15:36] Joshua Linden: back
- [15:36] Torley Linden: WB Josh!
- [15:37] Squirrel Wood: so it may be worth checking if its not third party software that causes it
- [15:37] Rob Linden: I'd be surprised if this is the first external report
- [15:37] Aric Linden: me too
- [15:37] Aric Linden: I'm pretty sure this is a duplicate issue
- [15:37] Aric Linden: I'd like to assume so and move on
- [15:37] Rob Linden: ...but we probably have to figure that out first. maybe we should import it
- [15:37] Joshua Linden: We get that randomly in-house with no special software too.
- [15:37] Aric Linden: @rob, that's fine with me
- [15:38] Rob Linden: it would be really silly and embarassing if it wasn't filed internally
- [15:38] BugTest Dumpling: lol
- [15:38] Aric Linden: that's sort of my point, Rob
- [15:38] Aric Linden: seeing as it's the second most common voice topic currently
- [15:38] Aric Linden: but let's take it and i'll dupe it if it's a dupe
- [15:38] Enus Linden: is afk
- [15:38] Torley Linden: OK.
- [15:39] BugTest Dumpling: Isnt : P
- [15:39] Aric Linden: is waiting for the volume issue to appear in triage
- [15:39] Aric Linden: VWR-4585
- [15:39] Aric Linden: is next
- [15:40] Aric Linden: I think this one is resolved
- [15:40] Aric Linden: Lex ftw
- [15:40] Daedalus Young: looks like it yes
- [15:41] Aric Linden: VWR-2518 is next
- [15:41] Aric Linden: d'oh!!!
- [15:41] Aric Linden: nevermind
- [15:42] Torley Linden: When time becomes a loop!
- [15:42] Torley Linden: ;)
- [15:42] Aric Linden: VWR-4384 is next
- [15:42] Aric Linden: it's that time of year, i guess
- [15:42] Daedalus Young: some issues appear to be timelooping yes
- [15:42] Aric Linden: groundhogs day
- [15:42] Aric Linden: Meghan?
- [15:42] Aric Linden: Got logs on this crash?
- [15:43] BugTest Dumpling: You confuse me with this whole logs thing
- [15:43] BugTest Dumpling: That is why i can't log in right now
- [15:43] Aric Linden: heh
- [15:43] Torley Linden: Meghan, this screenshot here is the same one you attached to the white screen issue you reported.
- [15:43] BugTest Dumpling: Yep, sometimes if it crashes as logging in, it will recover but log you in, like that
- [15:44] Torley Linden: Not sure how this is altogether different from VWR-4338, then -- sounds like a dupe.
- [15:44] Aric Linden: nods at Torley
- [15:44] BugTest Dumpling: Any idea on how to stop it from logging in at the edge of the sim like that?
- [15:44] Aric Linden: Logs are good to provide. with the next release it'll be automagically provided again
- [15:44] Torley Linden: Meghan, yes.
- [15:44] Torley Linden: Preferences > General tab.
- [15:45] Torley Linden: Change your login location.
- [15:45] BugTest Dumpling: Please lay it on me lol id like to log in
- [15:45] Torley Linden: Where it says "Start Location", change that to something else.
- [15:45] BugTest Dumpling: Will try that but I am sure ive done the whole clear cache, cookies temp internet filesd and login location, isd standard
- [15:46] Aric Linden: let's mark that last one a dupe and move along to VWR-4598
- [15:46] BugTest Dumpling: Today is the worse I must admit, it would normally have stopped doing that after a while though each try today has ended up like that
- [15:46] BugTest Dumpling: Oki
- [15:46] Torley Linden: *nod*
- [15:47] Torley Linden: I wonder if this happens when teleporting within the same region.
- [15:47] Aric Linden: @torley
- [15:47] Daedalus Young: 4598 or first 4758?
- [15:47] Torley Linden: Also the usual connectivity questions... if it just happens in RC and not the main viewer.
- [15:47] Torley Linden: Oh, I was r eferring to VWR-4598.
- [15:47] Aric Linden: I think 4758 was one of Joshua's dupes
- [15:47] Daedalus Young: ahh ok
- [15:47] Aric Linden: we're on VWR-4598
- [15:48] Aric Linden: at least I am.
- [15:48] Daedalus Young: got it
- [15:48] Aric Linden: grins at Daedalus
- [15:48] Torley Linden: But something I do note...
- [15:48] Torley Linden: "freeze on teleport" with WindLight *only* may be related to occlusion cleanup bug.
- [15:48] Torley Linden: If that's so, then this is a dupe of VWR-3513.
- [15:49] Torley Linden: Resolve and ask for more info sound good?
- [15:49] Aric Linden: except that there's confusion about whether both posters are referring to wl, the first poster seems to be talking about RC
- [15:49] Torley Linden: Yet, the first poster has "WindLight" in their Environment.
- [15:49] Torley Linden: So I'm inclined to believe it's both about WL.
- [15:49] BugTest Dumpling: lol
- [15:49] Aric Linden: My suggestion would be to ask if it happens after the Next RC is pushed and to provide logs if so
- [15:49] Torley Linden: OK Aric! *asks*
- [15:50] Aric Linden: looks curiously at BugTest
- [15:50] BugTest Dumpling: Aric
- [15:50] BugTest Dumpling: Really
- [15:50] BugTest Dumpling: I am really very confused
- [15:50] BugTest Dumpling: lol
- [15:51] Aric Linden: VWR-4851 is next
- [15:51] BugTest Dumpling: I will work this whole logs thing out : P Yay for logs!
- [15:51] BugTest Dumpling: I think... this might be a dupe...
- [15:52] Daedalus Young: looks like network issues
- [15:52] Daedalus Young: which can occur anywhere
- [15:52] BugTest Dumpling: Are they saying they freeze/crash AFTER that ammount of time, and stay crashes/frozen OR they only freeze/crash for that amount of time, then it is ok?
- [15:53] Aric Linden: nods at daedalus
- [15:53] fortune Zabaleta: please can i have a info????
- [15:53] Aric Linden: I wonder if this started with 1.19.0?
- [15:53] Aric Linden: yes Fortune?
- [15:53] fortune Zabaleta: who i am
- [15:53] BugTest Dumpling: lol
- [15:53] fortune Zabaleta: where i am
- [15:53] Squirrel Wood: I have seen the client freeze before
- [15:53] Squirrel Wood: usually for 30s to 1-2 minutes
- [15:53] Squirrel Wood: or forever
- [15:53] JayR Cela: Aric / I beleave you are correct the problem seems to have started with 1.19
- [15:53] fortune Zabaleta: escuse me
- [15:54] Torley Linden: I wonder what events these lockups correspond with...
- [15:54] Aric Linden: nods
- [15:54] Squirrel Wood: at which point it uses 100% cpu time
- [15:54] fortune Zabaleta: how can i built my busness????
- [15:54] Torley Linden: There's https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4567 - "Viewer freezes upon friend status changes (coming online/offline, giving permissions, etc.)"
- [15:54] Torley Linden: which has been a pretty hot issue!
- [15:54] Aric Linden: right squirrel, but i find it curious that it's all of the sudden for this user
- [15:54] fortune Zabaleta: on second life
- [15:54] Torley Linden: I suggest asking here whether this might be the same as that.
- [15:54] BugTest Dumpling: There is a Jira already, on the viewer freexing every few seconds, especialy when you open search or a profile and so on
- [15:54] Enus Linden: indeed torley
- [15:54] Aric Linden: Torley, yep. let's link 'em and import one
- [15:55] Aric Linden: assign to triage please
- [15:55] Torley Linden: VWR-4567 is imported, so I'll resolve VWR-4851 as likely dupe... will do... thanks!
- [15:55] Aric Linden: enus, do you want to take the next one
