- [12:06] xstorm Radek: can we put the Second Life Release in a grave in a block of lead ?
- [12:06] Yann Dufaux: wb Ryu:)
- [12:07] Ryu Darragh: Hiya, Tann
- [12:07] Ryu Darragh: Yann
- [12:07] Ryu Darragh: :P

- [12:07] Kona Linden: Gah...MacBook issues...
- [12:07] Ryu Darragh: Hah! Speak of the bug..
- [12:07] Kona Linden: hiya Dessie
- [12:07] Ryu Darragh: Just froze for 10 seconds.
- [12:07] Dessie Linden: hey, kona!
- [12:07] Henri Beauchamp: This bug still exists in newer version, please see the comment I added at the end
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: as didi wolfpup
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: did*
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: thanks for the updates
- [12:08] Gellan Glenelg: ok - sorry - was just going by the "affects"
- [12:08] xstorm Radek: i had to start using Second Life 1.22.11 (113976) to just stop crashing every 5 min
- [12:08] Dessie Linden: nice bubble-head, kona
- [12:08] Ryu Darragh: BTW, not just SL freezes.. my entire PC freezes. I have 2 monitors and it grinds to a halt with SL at 200%
- [12:08] Ryu Darragh: (2 cores)
- [12:08] Kona Linden: Rys, do you view SL on your primary monitor?
- [12:08] Yann Dufaux: hi Dessie :)))
- [12:08] Ryu Darragh: Secondary
- [12:08] Ryu Darragh: It's bigger
- [12:08] Dessie Linden: hi yann!
- [12:08] Moon Metty: waves to Bridie and Dessie
- [12:09] Ryu Darragh: 768MB 8800GTX
- [12:09] Dessie Linden: waves back to moon
- [12:09] Ellla McMahon: Hello Dessie & Bridie :))
- [12:09] Kona Linden: to avoid issues with SL, it's recommended on dual monitor setups that SL be run on the primary monitor
- [12:09] Dessie Linden: hi ellla!
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: helps with a few problems
- [12:09] Ryu Darragh: It's done this both ways, Kona.
- [12:09] xstorm Radek: Ryu your stuck like i am
- [12:09] Yann Dufaux: the drivers nvidia 182 work good for me :)
- [12:09] Henri Beauchamp: It freezes even on single monitor systems
- [12:09] Ryu Darragh: With and without 2 monitors.
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: ugh :(
- [12:09] Kona Linden: Rya, ahhh...suck
- [12:09] Ryu Darragh: Exact same freeze of all processes
- [12:10] xstorm Radek: yes same problems i have
- [12:10] Yann Dufaux: but i have noticed a spacial lag this weekend
- [12:10] Ryu Darragh: I suspect something in SmartHeap.
- [12:10] Henri Beauchamp: When I get freezes, I also get out of order packets...
- [12:10] Dessie Linden: repeat after me, everyone... the viewer never freezes & the viewer never crashes... ;o)
- [12:10] Ellla McMahon: Meta Issue VWR-559 has some links to issues reported on recent Viewers https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-559
- [12:10] xstorm Radek: i say there is more then a memory leak
- [12:10] Ryu Darragh: Been doing this since 1.19...
- [12:10] Kona Linden: yeah, looks like so
- [12:11] Yann Dufaux: Dessie, generaly the probleme its the computers:)
- [12:11] Ryu Darragh: I get hints that garbage collection is colliding with something in memory.
- [12:11] xstorm Radek: i think so Ryu :-)
- [12:11] Henri Beauchamp: Nah... Garbage collection won't freeze all processes...
- [12:12] WolfPup Lowenhar: dang viewr lock
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: wb
- [12:12] WolfPup Lowenhar: Thank Youuuuuu!! for the tip
- [12:12] xstorm Radek: GPU in the SLI
- [12:12] Kona Linden: Alexa, I'm thinking triage VWR-8597
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: will do :)
- [12:12] Ryu Darragh: I tried an experiment and upgraded from a slower memory to memory that pushes my mobo and it cut the freeze time in half.
- [12:12] xstorm Radek: and no limit on the OpenGL
- [12:12] Kona Linden: I think there's enough info/repros for the devs to jab & stab
- [12:12] WolfPup Lowenhar: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8597 is what just happend to me
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: can you all make sure that if your experiences are not alreayd on there, you add them ?
- [12:13] Ryu Darragh: Sure
- [12:13] Henri Beauchamp: For me it freezes the whole X system...
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: thanks :)
- [12:13] Kona Linden: yep, very nasty situation it appears
- [12:13] Yann Dufaux: i have a note of the drivers 9.2 in recent crash on Xp or Vista this work great for windows Seven
- [12:13] xstorm Radek: i did not do it
- [12:13] Kona Linden: both Mac & PC
- [12:14] Henri Beauchamp: All three Windoze Linx, MacOS-X are affected, but MACs seem to have the worst troubles with very long freezes
- [12:14] Kona Linden: next puppy...
- [12:14] Ryu Darragh: The 1.19 freeze had a memory leak associated with it as that also caused system crashes to reboot and or blue screen.
- [12:14] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5251
- [12:14] WolfPup Lowenhar: i just froze to the point i forced viewer crahs
- [12:14] Kona Linden: Beacons fail to show on attachments
- [12:15] Henri Beauchamp: This one is my pet peeve...
- [12:15] Gellan Glenelg: On HUDs: Highlights *do* show for sound sources, but all other highlights and all *beacons* seem to be missing
- [12:15] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:15] WolfPup Lowenhar: i het the hight of sound source with me wearing my drakelette
- [12:16] Ryu Darragh: Yes.. have even found detached sound beacons where avatars had paused a few times. But, that's it.
- [12:16] Henri Beauchamp: We used to have "ALT SHows Physical" in the past (v1.18), but when beacons replaced it, the code to highlight the attachements was removed...
- [12:17] Kona Linden: that sucks...Henri, did you note that in your comments on this jira?
- [12:17] Ryu Darragh: Now, you can see the frozen T position Ruth avatar with the "cloud" at her feet that way..
- [12:17] Henri Beauchamp: In the description, yes
- [12:17] WolfPup Lowenhar: where i host the sound beacon seem to work cause i have had to let people know their shoes wre stuck playing a sound
- [12:17] Kona Linden: ah yes, i see that
- [12:17] Kona Linden: Alexa, I say triage this puppy too
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: will do!
- [12:18] Kona Linden: Next on the hot list, https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3678
- [12:18] Gellan Glenelg: Should this be on agenda? It's New Feature, not a bug
- [12:18] Kona Linden: Add find/replace feature for notecard edit windows
- [12:18] Ryu Darragh: The old particle source on avatar beacon was also a good way of locating idiots using multiple particle makers on their avatars to "grief" places..
- [12:18] Henri Beauchamp: Well, it's a very needed feature... and not assigned neither triaged
- [12:18] Kona Linden: Gellen, VWR-3678?
- [12:18] Gellan Glenelg: yes
- [12:19] Kona Linden: yeah, this a feature request
- [12:19] WolfPup Lowenhar: that dose look like a feture request to me
- [12:19] Henri Beauchamp: Plus, most of the code exists already for the scripts floater...
- [12:21] Kona Linden: Alright, then let's import this puppy and move this one along
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:21] Kona Linden: now we're up to Patches...
- [12:21] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12427
- [12:22] Kona Linden: A non-ASCII character in boost header file makes viewer build to fail on non-US versions of Windows
- [12:22] Kona Linden: gah, this sucks
- [12:22] Arawn Spitteler: What'sa Boost Header File?
- [12:22] Henri Beauchamp: I say: Windoze is stupid... looking into comments ?...
- [12:22] Moon Metty: heheh just what i was thinking Arawn
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: +1
- [12:23] Henri Beauchamp: boost is a library. and apparently VC EXpress shokes on a non-ascii chatracter in a comment...
- [12:23] Gellan Glenelg: patch looks like a 1-char change - just replaces a UTF8 character in a comment
- [12:23] Aimee Trescothick: hmm, try a newer revision of boost?
- [12:24] Kona Linden: Gellan, can you please comment further recommendation on this one?
- [12:24] Aimee Trescothick: boost isn't Linden code, I doubt they want to get into patching it ;)
- [12:25] Kona Linden: nmi?
- [12:25] Rob Linden: I'm wondering if, in the process of getting this checked in, we de-UTF-8'ed it
- [12:25] Aimee Trescothick: though if it's that trivial
- [12:25] Aimee Trescothick: ah right
- [12:25] Ryu Darragh: Old version of VS would choke.. newer update uses a square box replacement. Isn't this an installed character set problem?
- [12:25] Henri Beauchamp: yep, perhaps a locale issue... Seems happening on a japanese system only
- [12:26] Rob Linden: Q, Soft and I should pick this up in our thurs internal triage...let's leave it for there
- [12:26] Kona Linden: and Japan is our largest Asian market
- [12:26] Rob Linden: I'll comment on it now
- [12:26] Kona Linden: k cool!
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: I'll add a triaged date for now then Rob
- [12:27] Ryu Darragh: Hai :)
- [12:27] WolfPup Lowenhar: i would thing if they installed the the other language editing capability to there editor that should correct the problem
- [12:27] Kona Linden: next patch, https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12385
- [12:27] Kona Linden: Building hotkeys to include next/previous prim in a link set
- [12:27] Moon Metty: that sounds useful!
- [12:28] Aimee Trescothick: eeeeextremely useful
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: +1 for this one
- [12:28] Gellan Glenelg: Should this be combined with https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9287 / DEV-24968
- [12:28] Kona Linden: good point, Gellan
- [12:29] Kona Linden: Alexa, import this puppy?
- [12:29] Henri Beauchamp: could even merge both altogether
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: I will tie together then make sure the internal is noted that we have a patch :)
- [12:29] Ryu Darragh: Nice :)
- [12:29] Kona Linden: sounds good
- [12:29] Kona Linden: =)
- [12:30] Kona Linden: ok, next patch...
- [12:30] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12454
- [12:30] Kona Linden: Given notecards lack the "Save" button while it is possible to save them via the CTRL S keyboard shortcut
- [12:30] Rob Linden: (wow....patches have picked up recently)
- [12:30] Kona Linden: YAY
- [12:31] Moon Metty: so that happens when you edit a note you're just given?
- [12:31] Henri Beauchamp: Got plenty of patch... Just lazy about posting on the JIRA :-P
- [12:31] Henri Beauchamp: yep
- [12:31] Ryu Darragh: Provide the tools and the frustrated will pick them up and start bodging things to suit :)
- [12:31] Moon Metty: accepted your inventory offer.
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: here ya go moon :p
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: hack away :)
- [12:31] Yann Dufaux: Henri, i'm understend this loll i,m lazy to make my wiki .. lol :(
- [12:32] Moon Metty: i get a confirmation if i want to save the changes
- [12:32] Moon Metty: or not
- [12:32] Gellan Glenelg: but you didn't get a "save" button?
- [12:32] WolfPup Lowenhar: each of us can have a wiki?
- [12:32] Henri Beauchamp: yes, but then you save and you must close again...
- [12:32] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:32] Moon Metty: no, i didn't see a save button *in* the notecard
- [12:32] Moon Metty: but i was asked
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: you close with the X?
- [12:33] Ryu Darragh: Not as useful as being able to write to a premade notecard :P
- [12:33] Moon Metty: gave you Updating the front of Pjira!.
- [12:33] Henri Beauchamp: You can see this patch in action in the Cool SL Viewer...
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: wierd
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: my card, I get save
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: so when I give to you moon, you don't get save
- [12:33] Henri Beauchamp: You get a Save button only on the cards you edit from the inventory
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: but when you give it back, I do
- [12:33] Moon Metty: no, i see a "keep" button
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: hmmmm
- [12:33] Henri Beauchamp: you get keep/discard on given notecards
- [12:34] Kona Linden: nmi?
- [12:34] Henri Beauchamp: You got all the info in there !
- [12:34] Moon Metty: but after editing and pressing the keep button, i got a confimration window
- [12:34] Kona Linden: I mean the additional edge case scenarios that Alexa has brought to light
- [12:34] Henri Beauchamp: And what if you want to save in between modifications and before closing ?
- [12:35] Kona Linden: ...true
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: QA to test maybe?
- [12:35] Moon Metty: yes ..
- [12:35] Kona Linden: yeah, let's do that Alexa
- [12:35] Henri Beauchamp: You can do it with CTRL S, but there is no matching Save button
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:35] Kona Linden: at least, it'll get sussed out & resolved ultimately
- [12:35] Kona Linden: next patch...
- [12:36] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12454
- [12:36] Kona Linden: wait...
- [12:36] Kona Linden: oops
- [12:36] Gellan Glenelg: lol
- [12:36] xstorm Radek: hope with out the bugs this one had
- [12:36] Kona Linden: Misc Pool time...lol
- [12:36] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-989
- [12:37] Kona Linden: Blog illogically requires secure connection to view rather than just to login and comment
- [12:37] xstorm Radek: is that not the browser asking for that ?
- [12:37] Moon Metty: is https slower?
- [12:37] Henri Beauchamp: So what ?...
- [12:37] Kona Linden: sounds like access is limited.
- [12:38] Rob Linden: wiki and jira are pretty illogical in that way too, though less so these days
- [12:38] Henri Beauchamp: no, it's just HTTPS access... not limited, just encrypted
- [12:38] xstorm Radek: can we just say part of there safety
- [12:38] xstorm Radek: ?
- [12:38] Rob Linden: it's pretty tough to limit most software to using HTTPS "only when necessary"....it's either on or its off
- [12:38] Henri Beauchamp: This way your boss can't spy you when you browse LL's blogs.... ;-P
- [12:38] Squirrel Wood: don't you use your SL account to log in?
- [12:38] xstorm Radek: yep
- [12:38] xstorm Radek: *GIGGLES* :)~[12:38
- [12:39] xstorm Radek: yes
- [12:39] WolfPup Lowenhar: https wants you to log in and if you accesing from a company server sometimes they block the https port
- [12:39] Henri Beauchamp: no, no need to log in to get https acccess
- [12:40] xstorm Radek: some systems need it
- [12:40] Henri Beauchamp: some server may even be configured to accept both http and https to view the same pages. It's just the way the server is configures...
- [12:40] Henri Beauchamp: +configured
- [12:40] WolfPup Lowenhar: i have had a couple of times trying to goto a page and it wanted me to sign in for a public page and when i hit cancel i get access denied
- [12:40] Rob Linden: it's probably worth asking someone on the web team if http browsing can be turned on while requiring https once you log in
- [12:40] xstorm Radek: yes
- [12:40] Rob Linden: however, I suspect it'll be a low priority for them
- [12:40] Kona Linden: import then?
- [12:40] Das Colman: shold eb a split system
- [12:40] Rob Linden: yeah, prolly
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:41] Kona Linden: okie dokie
- [12:41] xstorm Radek: may be another smaller text only blog ?
- [12:41] Henri Beauchamp: You can add the wiki and the jira then...
- [12:41] xstorm Radek: for phones
- [12:41] Kona Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1168
- [12:41] Kona Linden: Misplacement of attachments using llSetPos()+llSetLocalRot()
- [12:41] Moon Metty: ahh, i think that's the same as https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1945
- [12:42] Moon Metty: and others btw
- [12:42] Moon Metty: the slinky i'm wearing is running a script
- [12:42] Moon Metty: i tried 1945 before the meeting
- [12:42] Arawn Spitteler: Looks like an image update issue
- [12:42] xstorm Radek: is this not a old one ?
- [12:42] Moon Metty: it repros, but with a vector of <0, 0, 0.1>
- [12:43] Moon Metty: <0, 0, 0.2> seems to work now
- [12:43] xstorm Radek: i seem to remember this bug
- [12:43] Moon Metty: does anyone of you see the slinky move?
- [12:43] xstorm Radek: yes
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:43] Moon Metty: ahhh
- [12:43] Moon Metty: not for me!
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: rotations turned off for you?
- [12:44] Kona Linden: I want a slinky
- [12:44] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:44] xstorm Radek: so do i
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: do you see other things rotate?
- [12:44] Ryu Darragh: I see the slinky flexing, but not otherwise moving
- [12:44] Moon Metty: now i see it move
- [12:44] Ryu Darragh: Ah, now it's moving
- [12:44] Moon Metty: with the llsettext
- [12:44] xstorm Radek: video lag ?
- [12:44] NonSmokerGirl Tulip: is it true it's fun for a girl or a boy?
- [12:45] Henri Beauchamp: yes
- [12:45] Moon Metty: haha
- [12:45] Henri Beauchamp: It looks like the moving secondary prims with hovertext in a link set, when seen from afar.. was fixed
- [12:45] Kona Linden: huh...It's not what I expect a slinky to do...lol
- [12:45] Moon Metty: yes Henri
- [12:45] Moon Metty: but this must be a separate problem
- [12:45] Henri Beauchamp: moves fine for me in v1.22.11
- [12:46] Moon Metty: sorry, wrong line
- [12:46] xstorm Radek: im using 1.22.11 (113976) and it looks great
- [12:46] Kona Linden: *...not sure what to expect
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: without llsettext it stops moving.
- [12:46] Henri Beauchamp: I see no bug here, with v1.22.11
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: or rather, updating properly
- [12:47] Moon Metty: yes Squirrel
- [12:47] Moon Metty: but if henri see it moving at least it most be vwr
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: nibbles on the carrot dangling in front of her
- [12:47] Squirrel Wood: settext triggers a full prim update while moving does not ?
- [12:47] Moon Metty: yes Nuts
- [12:47] Henri Beauchamp: Ah... wait... Using the Cool SL Viwer, so... lemme check the patches...
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [12:48] Ryu Darragh: It's stopped moving, but I never saw the hovertext changing
- [12:48] Henri Beauchamp: over 50 patches for v1.22...
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: hmmm
- [12:48] Gellan Glenelg: VWR-1168 is *old*, without a repro/script... so I suspect it's either a dupe, or NMI
- [12:48] xstorm Radek: *GIGGLES* :)~[12:48
- [12:48] Moon Metty: i got the llsettext from https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-220
- [12:49] Kona Linden: import this puppy then
- [12:49] Moon Metty: please!
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: okie dokie
- [12:49] Moon Metty: :)
- [12:49] Ryu Darragh: I should test my giant ferris wheel
- [12:49] Arawn Spitteler: wonders if, using a floating text of " ", we could make one part of an object sem not to move with others
- [12:49] Henri Beauchamp: no, for me this is fixed in v1.22 and i have no patch for it
- [12:50] xstorm Radek: ferris wheels work good
- [12:50] Kona Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2313
- [12:50] Kona Linden: Your last location is not currently available.
- [12:50] xstorm Radek: i got on one yester day
- [12:50] Henri Beauchamp: yes, I can see this once in a while...
- [12:51] Yann Dufaux: yeah, i have noticed this weekend
- [12:52] Henri Beauchamp: Perhaps the viewer is not trying hard enough to contact the region... DNS temp failures ?
- [12:52] Yann Dufaux: after, my clearcash
- [12:52] Yann Dufaux: cache*
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: that tracert isn't pretty. wondering if a "login" is set to time-out faster that a "TP"?
- [12:52] Gellan Glenelg: than*
- [12:53] Kona Linden: sounds like we should just import this one...
- [12:53] WolfPup Lowenhar: that might relate to the new addies on the LLnet instead of the old addies
- [12:54] Squirrel Wood: llNut
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: Hi Kerry :)
- [12:55] Kerry Giha: Hello
- [12:55] Kona Linden: ki, next one...
- [12:55] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6996
- [12:55] Kona Linden: Mac: Can not remember VRAM over 64MB setting.
- [12:55] xstorm Radek: hi kerry
- [12:55] Kona Linden: ooowww, with picture too!
- [12:55] Kona Linden: lol
- [12:55] Kona Linden: Hi Kerry
- [12:55] Moon Metty: lol
- [12:55] Henri Beauchamp: Must be MAC-specific, never seen that one happening here...
- [12:55] Gellan Glenelg: Is an "Intel X3100" supported? Is it resetting to minimum (64M) *because* it's not in gpu_table?
- [12:56] Kona Linden: eeek, nope
- [12:56] Kona Linden: yeah, that's the story...we don't support those cards
- [12:56] Ryu Darragh: It's his VBO settings..
- [12:56] Henri Beauchamp: I don't think the VRAM amount is limited for non-supported cards...
- [12:57] Squirrel Wood: fail safe setting ?
- [12:57] Ryu Darragh: Yep
- [12:57] Gellan Glenelg: it *is* in gpu_table.txt - as UNsupported
- [12:57] Kona Linden: yeah, won't fix
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:58] Henri Beauchamp: I don't have "unsupported" entry in gpu_table, but if you say so...
- [12:58] Gellan Glenelg: Intel X3100 .*Intel.*X3100.* 0 1
- [12:58] Kona Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2775
- [12:58] Kona Linden: Unpredicatable crashes in Linux-client since version 1.18.3.5 (1.18.3.4 was ok)
- [12:59] Moon Metty: o_O linux 1.18
- [12:59] Henri Beauchamp: oooold one
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: dec 2007
- [12:59] Kona Linden: wow
- [12:59] Squirrel Wood: nmi, still happening ?
- [12:59] Ryu Darragh: Also happened on XP
- [13:00] Henri Beauchamp: Ask for reproductablility (sp?) on v1.22 ?...
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: NMI sounds good - latest RC, information updated, etc
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: jinx :)
- [13:00] Moon Metty: yes
