- [12:02] Alexa Linden: I think we're just waiting for soft, Davy?
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: and there we go :p
- [12:02] Davy Linden: hi soft
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: Hi Soft
- [12:02] Davy Linden: all set?
- [12:02] Soft Linden: Hey hey hey
- [12:02] Soft Linden: sec
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: let 'er rip Davy!
- [12:03] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-34 - Right-clicking another Resident's moving object freezes it
- [12:03] Yann Dufaux: hi Soft
- [12:03] Latif Khalifa: just finished judging Obfuscated LSL Contest of 2009
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: we had this last week
- [12:03] Morgaine Dinova: Hi Soft
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: we're waiting for an update on the interal side
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: internal*
- [12:03] Latif Khalifa: for the curious, the winning entry is the globe, its free to copy
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: ack
- [12:04] Harleen Gretzky: Brent Linden commented on 8/21 also
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: can we put away for not so I don't have to clean up all the chat for posting?
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: maybe put out at the end of the meeting?
- [12:05] Latif Khalifa: marked script not running
- [12:05] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-3001 - Second life lag gone from causing slowdowns or freezing to massive rubberbanding
- [12:05] Techwolf Lupindo: This sim had a 30 second totle freezze before this hours.
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: move to vwr
- [12:05] Yann Dufaux: what a freez? LOL
- [12:06] Morgaine Dinova: Yep, we had freezes right here.
- [12:06] Yann Dufaux: i notice that if i have my laptop connected in same times
- [12:06] Davy Linden: I don't think there's enough to go on here - SVC-4196 might be the cause
- [12:06] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4196:
- [#SVC-4196] entering sim: or rezzing object causes sim to freeze for up to 30 seconds - everything stops for everybody there
- [12:07] Soft Linden: looking back...
- [12:07] Soft Linden: MISC-3001 has gotten -really- bad over the last few weeks. FPSes and even just walking around are getting extremely frustrating.
- [12:07] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-3001:
- [#MISC-3001] life lag: gone from causing slowdowns or freezing to massive rubberbanding
- [12:07] Techwolf Lupindo: I though a sim I was in was under attack, turns out he was just rezzing a boat.
- [12:07] Soft Linden: MISC-3001 isn't just the teleport and rez lag. It happens a bunch even when nobody's coming in, and in a sim without much going on.
- [12:08] Morgaine Dinova: It's like everything stops on a rez or on script loading. Something's being on on the main sim thread, instead of non-blocking.
- [12:08] Soft Linden: The machine's hitting swap, or something new is wedging the sim process a while. Should take it in for more discussion.
- [12:08] Davy Linden: ok
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:08] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4622 - (???) (???) instead of an object's group name
- [12:09] Davy Linden: *coughregressioncough*
- [12:09] Soft Linden: On the last, if you want to add me as a watcher I'll add internal notes
- [12:09] Evil Titler: Soft Linden needs a new title! To set it, anyone may say the text on /66. Soft is not able to change it.
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: ok soft
- [12:09] Squirrel Wood: have you tried putting more ram into one of these machines and see if it performs better ?
- [12:10] Evil Titler: Aimee Trescothick has set a new title for Soft Linden! Soft will have to live with this until the next chance for it to be changed.
- [12:10] Soft Linden: I think I'd ask these people to contact support. It could well be a connection issue...
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:11] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5559 - Viewer crashes with ATI Radeon HD 3650 GPU
- [12:11] Soft Linden: But support can go and see if they're seeing the problem on those same objects and respond back to engineering if it's hitting them too
- [12:11] Yann Dufaux: hi Rodney
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: WB Ellla :)
- [12:11] Rodney Linden: hihi
- [12:11] Soft Linden: Annnnd Random <3
- [12:11] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1070 - Vehicles are in some cases counted against parcel prim limits.
- [12:11] Yann Dufaux: sorry i'm back, to connect my alt Eddi
- [12:12] Ellla McMahon: thank you :)
- [12:12] Squirrel Wood: deja vu
- [12:12] Davy Linden: This sounds familiar, yeah
- [12:12] Davy Linden: I thought we'd agreed it was expected
- [12:12] Yann Dufaux: my alt are connected in my toshiba laptop
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: argent added more info
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Are we still on the ATI issue?
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: no vehicles and prim limits
- [12:13] Soft Linden: What was the resolution on the ATI one?
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1070
- [12:13] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-1070|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-1070]]:
- [12:13] Davy Linden: sorry soft - I was lagging - I think my hud skipped that
- [12:14] Davy Linden: ( I never saw it - will do that one next :)
- [12:14] Soft Linden: SVC-1070 we should import for Andrew to comment
- [12:14] Davy Linden: ok
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:14] Davy Linden: VWR-5559
- [12:14] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5559:
- [#VWR-5559] crashes with: ATI Radeon HD 3650 GPU
- [12:14] Soft Linden: If only just to ask him to comment back on the pJIRA and say what the intended design is. I think discussion already happened in forums
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:15] Yann Dufaux: alexa, i have noticed this simes a long times with prims bonus factor added ..
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Pretty sure this is a dupe of VWR-12139
- [12:15] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12139:
- [#VWR-12139] on login: with ATI Catayst 9.2 9.3 9.4
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Ah, but an earlier Catalyst
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Mebbe import, ask Zen if this is a dupe of VWR-12139 then
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:16] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4080 - Busy Mode doesn't work properly
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Noting that this references an 8.x series Catalyst, not 9
- [12:16] Yann Dufaux: yeah soft , i remember that
- [12:16] Davy Linden: we couldn't repro this last time
- [12:17] Davy Linden: reopened, by someone using Emerald
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: right
- [12:17] Yann Dufaux: hmm?
- [12:17] Soft Linden: They're saying it's intermittent, with and without emerald
- [12:17] Davy Linden: NMI again, asking if it's a problem with 1.23.4 ?
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:18] Soft Linden: I think NMI against 1.23.4, but also - ask specifically what happened, and what they expected to happen instead. Let's make sure it's not bad assumptions about how busy mode works
- [12:18] Davy Linden: we still ne repro steps, even if it is
- [12:18] Yann Dufaux: Davy i need to test on a computers friend if i know some problem i add new a comment
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:18] Soft Linden: Since the comments have two different issues here. It would be good to know which we're solving :3
- [12:18] Ellla McMahon: this is a mixed issue, too many possible causes, including difficulties with AGP cards
- [12:19] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-754 - Friend's list not showing map locations even with map rights.
- [12:19] Ellla McMahon: and until ATI sort out the VBO issue, unlikely to be completely resolved
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: year old
- [12:20] Soft Linden: Huh. I didn't even know the friendlist showed locations on the website
- [12:20] Latif Khalifa: it does
- [12:20] Davy Linden: yes, the names are links
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: ya, you get a hyperlink for your friends that allow you to track
- [12:20] Davy Linden: but it's all changed since this was logged
- [12:20] Latif Khalifa: I'd ask if its still happening
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: agreed - nmi
- [12:20] Yann Dufaux: Ella, yes i can think that .. but why the sl viewer are ok when i'm desactive the advanced menu of ati?
- [12:20] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15114 - Graphic features, such as local lights, are unnecessarily restricted on graphic cards/platforms that can support them due to erroneous settings files. Please fix for next release and document.
- [12:20] Latif Khalifa: sometimes the link used to say "Object" instead of slurl
- [12:22] Soft Linden: I'd take this in and assign it to Nyx since he's already asking after specifics on the pJIRA
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Changing cards' default capabilities is really easy if someone can make the case that they're misclassified.
- [12:23] Latif Khalifa: yeah this wa sbrought up during his office hours too, and i think he said he'd be looking into it
- [12:24] Soft Linden: Man. iTunes 9 is trying to steal the viewer 1.19 era crash crown
- [12:24] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:24] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-716 - Particles -> Inappropriate Alpha Sorting - as of 1.15.x
- [12:24] Davy Linden: 1.15?
- [12:24] Yann Dufaux: haha!
- [12:24] Evil Titler: Soft Linden needs a new title! To set it, anyone may say the text on /63. Soft is not able to change it.
- [12:24] Evil Titler: Squirrel Wood has set a new title for Soft Linden! Soft will have to live with this until the next chance for it to be changed.
- [12:24] Ellla McMahon: OP reopened
- [12:24] Latif Khalifa: bets Steve Q claims "best iTunes ever" :P
- [12:25] Yann Dufaux: i have started sl with the 1.13 version loll
- [12:25] Davy Linden: is this just a specific example of the "z-fighting" issue?
- [12:26] Soft Linden: Not really sure what behavior they want here.
- [12:26] Soft Linden: I don't think we want to undo back-to-front alpha rendering. Is that not what we're getting here?
- [12:26] Squirrel Wood: the impossible: proper alpha sorting ;)
- [12:27] Ardy Lay: Isn't BigPapi collecting votes for alpha masking?
- [12:27] Soft Linden: That wouldn't really apply here...
- [12:27] Latif Khalifa: it's not imposible, you can do it with ray tracing if your wanted 1 frame every 5 minutes or so :P
- [12:28] Soft Linden: I think I'd like to NMI, ask for a specific asset where far away alpha particles are drawing over near alpha particles
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:28] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-195 - unable to edit friend's linked parts despite ability to modify their objects
- [12:28] Soft Linden: If they can offer an object or point to where it can be seen in world it would help.
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:28] Davy Linden: "Upon further discovery, it only happens to me when I have "Select Only My Objects" turned on."
- [12:28] Yann Dufaux: yeah, this famous bugs, i have a questions about alpha textures ..
- [12:28] Davy Linden: I'd say it's Expected Behaviour
- [12:28] Soft Linden: This should be imported.
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: ya
- [12:29] Soft Linden: It's busted - shouldn't have to deselect "only my objects" when explicitly selecting an object (vs lasso selecting)
- [12:29] Yann Dufaux: why you don't have this bugs when i look the wather in my windows? the waters is an alpha textures no?
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: ok soft
- [12:29] Davy Linden: ok
- [12:29] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1110 - Some non-ASCII characters disappear or appear as '?' in results of new search
- [12:31] Soft Linden: That text looks correct to me right now
- [12:31] Soft Linden: NMI - still an issue?
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:31] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1184 - Animated Sculpties De-Link over periods of time
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: year old
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: and I've never seen this
- [12:32] Soft Linden: That shouldn't be getting a changed link signal
- [12:32] Soft Linden: Oof - this should be imported, per Harleen's last comment
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:32] Soft Linden: out of order chat
- [12:32] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1746 - An llSensor() whose scanning radius covers <0,0,0> will detect any avatar that is sitting within a sim.
- [12:32] Soft Linden: I really like Gonbe's comment on the last one, btw. :3
- [12:32] Soft Linden: The first four lines.
- [12:32] Davy Linden: This doesn't repro for me
- [12:33] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:34] Soft Linden: I'd NMI - still happen?
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:34] Soft Linden: I know the sensor position code on avatars was redone a year ago
- [12:34] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1846 - PARCEL_MEDIA_COMMAND_LOOP Not Looping
- [12:34] Soft Linden: I'd import
- [12:34] Soft Linden: Lots of people agreeing on it
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:34] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2516 - llEjectFromLand boots to nearest parcel edge - and fails when nearest edge is sim edge without bordering sim
- [12:34] Latif Khalifa: there is definetly some weirdnes on sitting agents and <0,0,0> sometimes i see evil titler hovertext in my sim at <0,0,0> for avatars sitting 200m away
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Yeah, import on this one. Having a parcel at 0,0 is annoying for this reason. You just get the guy standing in the corner and laughing
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: lol ok
- [12:36] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3870 - Avatar lagging whilst walking/running / appear underground when sitting on pose stands
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: I see you!!!!111
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: :p
- [12:36] Soft Linden: Contact support on this one, imho
- [12:36] Soft Linden: Probably a connection issue
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: ya
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:37] Latif Khalifa: happens a lot with sim freezes too
- [12:37] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-571 - Communication functions other than llSay output to main chat when using DEBUG_CHANNEL
- [12:37] Imaze Rhiano: I tested this bug here - at least Aimee was able to get message
- [12:37] Imaze Rhiano: from halfway sim
- [12:37] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:37] Object whispers: Whisper
- [12:37] Object shouts: Shout
- [12:37] Object say,: Region Say
- [12:37] Meggan Faith: This is a reason a bug in the RLV was not reproduceable for some time.
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: this is 2 years old
- [12:37] Soft Linden: Blech. Yeah, import this guy.
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:38] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-698 - llGiveInventoryList does not deliver to offline agents
- [12:38] Meggan Faith: Marine used llWhisper instead of llSay in her test.
- [12:38] Meggan Faith: about a year ago.
- [12:38] Soft Linden: I'll not be surprised if this is still happening... :/
- [12:39] Latif Khalifa: This is by design, yet highly annoying
- [12:39] Soft Linden: Should take this in for QA - it's urgent (Despite the date) if it's still happening
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:39] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1388 - Avatar "Broken Back"
- [12:39] Latif Khalifa: capped IM's -> all invntory offers from objects get lost
- [12:39] Davy Linden: that's a polite way of putting it!
- [12:39] Techwolf Lupindo: whispers: What is the debug channel number?
- [12:40] Davy Linden: use DEBUG_CHANNEL
- [12:40] Yann Dufaux: lolll, i know why that is style reopen
- [12:40] Techwolf Lupindo: DEBUG_CHANNEL=???
- [12:40] Aimee Trescothick: just type DEBUG_CHANNEL, is a constant
- [12:40] Squirrel Wood: llSay(0,(string)DEBUG_CHANNEL);
- [12:40] Techwolf Lupindo: ok.
- [12:40] Imaze Rhiano: llRegionSay( DEBUG_CHANNEL, "Hello world!" );
- [12:40] Harleen Gretzky: max integer 2 billion something
- [12:41] Techwolf Lupindo: I needed a number for my client. I search the wiki for the number.
- [12:41] Yann Dufaux: for vwr-1388 , i have noticed this on somes snowglobe version
- [12:41] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1388:
- [#VWR-1388] "Broken Back:
- [12:41] Davy Linden: I last saw it yesterday, on 1.23.4
- [12:41] Yann Dufaux: after some teleport
- [12:41] Squirrel Wood: The integer constant DEBUG_CHANNEL has the value 0x7FFFFFFF
- [12:42] Squirrel Wood: or 2147483647
- [12:42] Soft Linden: Davy - you're still seeing it?
- [12:42] Davy Linden: I did yesterday
- [12:42] Davy Linden: it fixed itself after a few minutes
- [12:42] Soft Linden: wild
- [12:42] Ardy Lay: I hear people mentioning this one at times. Folded avatars.
- [12:43] Yann Dufaux: Davys, its a lag or?
- [12:43] Ardy Lay: One even asked for a copy of the animation to do it. :-)
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: I see this every blue moon
- [12:43] Soft Linden: Should probably import - would be nice to get a photo of what that avatar is normally supposed to look like though
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: like the head up butt or the popping eyes
- [12:43] Davy Linden: could be connection / packet loss... didnt have chance to look
- [12:43] Soft Linden: Might be obvious for the graphics guys if they can compare
- [12:44] Davy Linden: ok
- [12:44] Kitty Tandino: alot of the people i hear that have it have a Nvidia
- [12:44] Yann Dufaux: well, i can test with my alt after i have Packets Lost: 1509/750698 (0.2%) :p
- [12:44] Kitty Tandino: oops sorry :) was just gonna listen
- [12:44] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3277 - Bring back original "Nighttime brightness" and "gamma" controls
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: no Kitty... you are welcome to comment :)
- [12:44] Kitty Tandino: <3
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: that's why everyone's here
- [12:44] Yann Dufaux: oh kitty nice to see you!
- [12:45] Kitty Tandino: i know.. but i talk alot
- [12:45] Squirrel Wood: we work off [2]
- [12:45] Kitty Tandino: <3! hugs Yann!
- [12:45] Kitty Tandino: and there isnt a mute self feature yet
- [12:45] Kitty Tandino: ;)
- [12:45] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:45] Davy Linden: feature request?
- [12:45] Yann Dufaux: squirr, the wiki are very very slow with me ...
- [12:46] Kitty Tandino: PLEASE SIR!
- [12:46] Kitty Tandino: :)
- [12:46] Yann Dufaux: the wiki nevers like me! :p
- [12:46] Kitty Tandino: while your at it.. can you please add Muting in RL?! i have alot of ppl i would love to add
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Are we still on brightness?
- [12:46] Davy Linden: yes, soft
- [12:46] Soft Linden: We should probably mark the date on this. There are going to be some other sky changes that may mitigate this
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:47] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3547 - Dynamic camera incorrectly turns off when any avatar unsits from object
- [12:47] Soft Linden: After 2.0 or 2.1
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: Last Triaged date being added
- [12:47] Yann Dufaux: eh i can't repro with my space
- [12:48] Yann Dufaux: but i can try on my laptop
- [12:48] Imaze Rhiano: umm... I think that all permissions are removed when avatar unsits object that requested permission
- [12:48] Soft Linden: I think changing this behavior would result in an awful lot of vehicles leaving insane cameras active when standing up
- [12:49] Imaze Rhiano: agrees with Soft
- [12:49] Soft Linden: Pretty sure this is expected behavior. But even if not - would be disastrous to change now
- [12:49] Squirrel Wood: so expected behavior then
- [12:49] Latif Khalifa: the issue reported is that camera resets for the pilot when a passenger stand up
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:49] Soft Linden: ah wait...
- [12:49] Latif Khalifa: not for the agent standing up
- [12:49] Evil Titler: Soft Linden needs a new title! To set it, anyone may say the text on /65. Soft is not able to change it.
- [12:49] Imaze Rhiano: ohh... ya... that is problem then
- [12:49] Evil Titler: Imaze Rhiano has set a new title for Soft Linden! Soft will have to live with this until the next chance for it to be changed.
- [12:50] Soft Linden: Alright - I'd change that summary. "dynamic camera turned off when any avatar unsits" or such
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:50] Soft Linden: And then import, yeah.
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:50] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6356 - When I try to create IMS or respond to IMS from others, they immediately appear offline and I get a message they are offline when they are actually online
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: happens sometimes either way round
- [12:51] Yann Dufaux: yeah, i notice this yesterdays with a friend ..
- [12:51] Soft Linden: "Reopening this issue. Reasoning will be forthcoming"
- [12:51] Yann Dufaux: i think is a lag
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: me too
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: packet loss.
- [12:51] Squirrel Wood: Everyone go drop a packet now :p
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:52] Squirrel Wood: ctrl-alt-l
- [12:52] Soft Linden: Packet loss shouldn't cause it to think the recipient is offline - that logic is sim-side
- [12:52] Yann Dufaux: the avatar stay online like a ghost for small times
- [12:52] Soft Linden: I know there's an issue where if someone IMs you while you're teleporting, this happens
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:52] Soft Linden: But never seen it for like - most everyone in one's friendlist like the OP claims
- [12:52] Latif Khalifa: i have only seen it on teleport too
- [12:52] Soft Linden: I'd ask them to contact support. This may be impossible to diagnose until we can catch it happening
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:53] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7137 - Viewer Crashes on Quit - Macintosh
- [12:53] Yann Dufaux: Soft is reprod with a wirless g connection?
- [12:53] Davy Linden: NMI . still happening?
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Verily
- [12:53] Squirrel Wood: wireless connections are flaky at most.
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:53] Davy Linden: I've not seen this on 1.23
- [12:54] Techwolf Lupindo: I was getting that a lot on linux, havn'g got that crash on exit for quiet sometimes. But then again, i'me using a more stable client, emerald.
- [12:54] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1000 - LindeX Billing Limits Unclear for New Users
- [12:54] Soft Linden: I've seen it a couple times, but only when bouncing between different versions
- [12:55] Soft Linden: Yeah, I'd take that in for the web team. Billing vs LX is confusing.
- [12:55] Soft Linden: And I know they're reevaluating some of the limit system anyway
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:55] Soft Linden: You might add JP as a watcher
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: will do
