- [12:03] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-578 - "save object back to object contents" no longer works
- [12:04] Davy Linden: this is imported, fixed internally, but reopened
- [12:04] Latif Khalifa: guesses this will eventually be removed like save back to inv was removed in 1.27 ;)
- [12:04] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:04] Avatar: Hello,: Object!
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Odd. Let's reopen the internal one.
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:05] Soft Linden: If the failure mode is the same...
- [12:05] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1074 - Blog comments need "Ignore this user" feature
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Yeah. On the last one, reopen
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Also linking it to a related issue...
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: I'll have to see if this is an option with our new blog... I can ask on this one
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: I know some features I was looking for had to added via add-ons
- [12:06] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12870 - Loggong out of linux viewr version 1.22.11.113941 hangs computer
- [12:07] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I'm sure this issue is related to OpenAL and PulseAudio.
- [12:07] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Two people mention Ubuntu 9.10 - I left a comment regarding that.
- [12:07] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: The viewer really needs the latest OpenAL Soft.
- [12:07] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: (That's the name, not you, Soft.) :p
- [12:08] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:08] Soft Linden: catches up - was spamming comments onto an internal JIRA
- [12:08] Dedric Mauriac: OpenAL means Alexa. :)
- [12:09] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: The viewer comes with a really old and buggy OpenAL as far as I've seen.
- [12:09] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: The latest just...fixes everything for me.
- [12:09] Soft Linden: This one, I suspect would be more quickly resolved publicly...
- [12:09] Soft Linden: Let's ask if one of the Linux users can load up gdb and catch where exactly this is hanging
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: ok will do
- [12:10] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16445 - scripted and non scripted items changing perms on their own
- [12:10] Latif Khalifa: vivox depends on opanal too, might be what's keeping the old version around
- [12:10] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I wouldn't be able to test since the lock-up that the ubuntu 9.10 users report is regarding PulseAudio, and Kubuntu/KDE doesn't use that.
- [12:10] Soft Linden: I'll drop a couple comments on the last one.
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: ty :)
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: next I guess?
- [12:11] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16445 - scripted and non scripted items changing perms on their own
- [12:12] Davy Linden: not much to go on in the description
- [12:13] Latif Khalifa: i've seen this in a very hard to tell non-reproducable way. buy my prefab house just decided to be no-mod all of a sudden one day
- [12:13] Elisha Richez: delt with that today actually but not sure what else to say about it.
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Hrm.
- [12:13] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Hm, I've seen this regarding something Questar has given me.
- [12:13] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Hir side shows full perms, but no mod to me.
- [12:14] Soft Linden: I'd NMI, asking what they were doing when this happened. Texturing? Deeding? Just standing about?
- [12:14] Questar Utu: blinks. o.o
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:14] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14328 - Involuntary pop-ups of ANY sort should not steal focus.
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: Feature Request or bug
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Not really a bug, but a request. Though I sure agree... except for the quit dialog, perhaps.
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: jinx
- [12:15] Soft Linden: d'oh!
- [12:15] Dedric Mauriac: security issue
- [12:15] Poet String: I agree as well - That has been targeted for use in combat HUDs by various creators.
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Nah. It can be used for griefing, but that's not automatically security. There are some changes coming that limit that annoyance though.
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: Hi Opensource :)
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: so moving to FR
- [12:16] Opensource Obscure: hello everybody! i'm a bit late sorry
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: any interest in importing too?
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Yeah, but I'd still import.
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:16] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: waves.
- [12:16] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9236 - Automatically play media setting ignored plays anyway - PARCEL_MEDIA_COMMAND_PLAY
- [12:16] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Oh this bugged the hell out of me when I had streaming media working.
- [12:17] Elisha Richez: involuntary porn
- [12:17] Soft Linden: I -think- this is by design. But let's import it and get it straight to the parcel media guys. Assigning to Sam's a good shortcut
- [12:17] Dedric Mauriac: people use that to get your IP address
- [12:17] Latif Khalifa: Sah, so solution is use buggered viewer? ;)
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Because some of the other media changes coming could make this a real annoyance
- [12:17] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1153 - Age Verification successful but not shown in Account profile.
- [12:17] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Well, KDE doesn't support streaming media yet - well, I haven't got it working so far.
- [12:18] Soft Linden: It's not really a property of kde. I think you need gstreamer installed is all, as well as some appropriate codecs.
- [12:18] Dedric Mauriac: if that's a bug, i have it too. i've verified many times since beta
- [12:18] Latif Khalifa: the real problem is that you cannot see if your account is age verified anywhere
- [12:18] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Yeah, but even gstreamer installed, it didn't work since it was incorrectly detecting codecs installed.
- [12:18] Latif Khalifa: (this broke some 6 month ago)
- [12:19] Soft Linden: Interesting, Latif. I thought it bounced you out if you tried to verify again, which would be one way of telling. but no dice!
- [12:19] Soft Linden: This really points to a handful of bugs that should be filed. :/
- [12:19] Latif Khalifa: Soft yes. https://secure-web14.secondlife.com/my/account/verification.php?lang=en-US used to tell you you are already verified
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: I verify and when done I get back to the same main window
- [12:20] Dedric Mauriac: it's a black hole of age verification. nothing escapes.
- [12:20] Latif Khalifa: now it just allows you to verify again
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: but nothing indicates that I was verified
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:20] Latif Khalifa: https://secure-web14.secondlife.com/my/account/verification.php?lang=en-US should tell you "alredy vierfied"
- [12:20] Soft Linden: Yup, should import this for the web guys
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: we need a big "thanks! you've been verified" page
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:20] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-3353 - In private island, under Region/Estate when Allow Public Access is unchecked, allowed group works, but not allowed residents list.
- [12:20] Opensource Obscure: (( I guess you already discussed WEB-1074; if yes, what was the conclusion? ))
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: I'll be asking blue if we can do it Open
- [12:21] Opensource Obscure: great
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: need to see if the functionality is there or available in a plugin/add0on
- [12:22] Soft Linden: Odd. I own a couple islands, and I'm definitely able to let individuals in.
- [12:22] Latif Khalifa: misc MISC-3353 sounds like region specific. i know for a fact that the same scenario works. perhaps send to support?
- [12:22] LSL Scientist: lindens have magic powers
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:23] Dedric Mauriac: maybe they are on the ban list too
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: will do :)
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Pointing them at support would get the quickest resolution...
- [12:23] Soft Linden: But it would sure be helpful for an engineer to see this as it's happening
- [12:23] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1145 - llInstantMessage() doesn't obey mute settings
- [12:24] Soft Linden: Can we ask them to contact support on the last one, but also to note the JIRA with the date, region and avatar that had a problem? Then we can check saved simstates.
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:25] Soft Linden: This should be imported. Bagh.
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:25] LSL Scientist: mumbles: and muting griefer dont prevent dialog spam....
- [12:25] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: nods to that one.
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: waves a fist in the air
- [12:25] Soft Linden: Is there a JIRA on that?
- [12:25] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Unsure, actually...
- [12:25] Latif Khalifa: muting is very inconsistent, with what is muted... somethime on inventory offers you mute owner sometimes is object, difficult to tell
- [12:25] Galva Umaga: coat off
- [12:26] Dedric Mauriac: need to be applied to llDialogText as well
- [12:26] Davy Linden: SOft: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6964
- [12:26] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-6964|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-6964]]:
- [12:26] Galva Umaga: mask off
- [12:26] Slee Mayo: "i'm a griefer would like to animate your av'...500x even on mute
- [12:26] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: votes on that JIRA.
- [12:26] Soft Linden: Yeah, the last one - when you import, would you relate it to DEV-33943 Alexa?
- [12:26] Soft Linden: That's the llDialog one
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: yes sir!
- [12:26] LSL Scientist: and dont stop even after you relog after the mute
- [12:27] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1604 - Typecasting float to string causes precision loss
- [12:27] Soft Linden: I say text spam should be okay. Kids don't read enough these days >:(
- [12:27] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Heh.
- [12:27] Slee Mayo: soft, did Q get with you lastweek about the current sound exploit going around?
- [12:27] Latif Khalifa: welcome to the fuzzy world of floating point numbers ;)
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Slee - yup, got that
- [12:28] Slee Mayo: k
- [12:28] Latif Khalifa: i'd mark SVC-1604 as expected
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Hrm. Do we specify what precision our floats have?
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Latif - I'm suspecting that, but I'd like to see if it's within promised precision
- [12:29] Davy Linden: I don't think the typecast is changing the precision - it's just not possible to store the number specified as a float?
- [12:29] Soft Linden: okay, we just say IEEE-754 with 32-bit precision
- [12:29] Latif Khalifa: floats are single precision IIEE floating point
- [12:29] Soft Linden: Looks like we arbitrarily cut if off at six decimals though.
- [12:30] Soft Linden: That's kinda silly. Though it could sure cause problems if we change it... hrm.
- [12:30] Soft Linden: Should import for babbage and company to make a decision on.
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:30] Soft Linden: babbage has office hours too, if anyone has strong feelings on this. Might be a good place for a discussion.
- [12:30] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1765 - llParticleSystem targets or emits from child prim at location relative to avatar origin, not prim apparent position if attached while rezzed.
- [12:31] Soft Linden: Does anyone know if objects' local ID changes when worn/unworn?
- [12:32] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:32] Avatar: Hello,: Object!
- [12:32] LSL Scientist: it changes
- [12:32] Dedric Mauriac: shouldn't change
- [12:32] Dedric Mauriac: that's how i usually transport servers to other sims. you wear them and teleport
- [12:33] LSL Scientist: ah, i understood wrong, yea if you just wear it from world it dont change
- [12:33] Latif Khalifa: particle system works with uuid as the target, and the uuid changes on rez
- [12:33] Dedric Mauriac: i don't know if the same happens for child-prims
- [12:33] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:33] Avatar: Hello,: Object!
- [12:33] Object: My: ID is 76f80c87-061c-3a8b-5420-575eaac987d0
- [12:33] Thickbrick Sleaford: localID is not the same as llGetKey()
- [12:33] Object: My: ID is 76f80c87-061c-3a8b-5420-575eaac987d0
- [12:33] Dedric Mauriac: what is a local id?
- [12:33] Thickbrick Sleaford: viewer side only, right?
- [12:34] Soft Linden: The local id shouldn't change when the region key doesn't change, afaik
- [12:34] Latif Khalifa: Dedric it's an unsigned iteger that is the ID of a prim within a sim
- [12:34] Soft Linden: The local id is on the sim - it's just a number assigned sequentially instead of pseudorandomly
- [12:34] Soft Linden: So that objects can be referenced with just a couple bytes instead of a full key
- [12:35] Soft Linden: We should be able to do something with this.
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Let's import this guy
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:35] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2250 - Body of email from outworld to object never arrives, subject, address do arrive.
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Same time though, there's an easy workaround in scripts if they just reissue the particle system on change events
- [12:36] Latif Khalifa: the comments suggests that particle system does not work even if started after attach
- [12:37] Soft Linden: looks back at the last one...
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: no coments since march
- [12:37] Latif Khalifa: i have seen email failures randomly per sim base, a call to support and a sim restart usually clears it up
- [12:38] Soft Linden: Yeah. I see emails just stop arriving sometimes, which is fixed by a restart. That's a separate issue...
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: nmi - still experiencing this problem?
- [12:38] Soft Linden: This one with headers but no body arriving sometimes shows up just as a sim is restarted.
- [12:39] Soft Linden: Yeah, NMI - still happening? And is it all emails or just some? And if some, can they think of anything else that happened around that time? Slow sim? Restart?
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:39] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2503 - Avatar falls through slowly moving prims in 1.22.2 that worked prior to this release.
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: 2008
- [12:40] Soft Linden: Yeah. Havok4 broke a number of non-sitting elevators
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: yes, I remember a few other bug re: this
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Won't Finish, unfortuantely. Changing the rules meow could cause more damage than it fixes.
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: meow?
- [12:41] Slee Mayo: haha
- [12:41] Soft Linden: damnit
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: ^^
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [12:41] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:41] Soft Linden: I've got a gesture that changes n o w into meow
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: noted ;)
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: won't fix meow
- [12:41] Slee Mayo: supertroopers
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Yus
- [12:41] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-259 - Linked sets numbered incorrectly when joined
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Having a stubborn contest with a friend to see who'll deactivate the gesture first.
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:42] Soft Linden: latif - you're right about that particle issue and restarting particle systems. But still, should get properly fixed when imported
- [12:43] Latif Khalifa: cool
- [12:43] Soft Linden: SVC-259 is a headache.
- [12:43] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: :p
- [12:44] Jonathan Yap: Was it ever documented what link number a prim receives?
- [12:44] Soft Linden: I've seen people struggle with this repeatedly, like with attachments that have xytext on them that relies on being in a specific link position, and they go to add more bits.
- [12:44] Thickbrick Sleaford: is "correctly" even defined for that?
- [12:44] Johan Laurasia: well, properly scripted stuff determines the proper link number
- [12:44] Dedric Mauriac: i would imagine the last object selected retains it's original link positions.
- [12:44] LSL Scientist: exactly
- [12:44] Latif Khalifa: i personally only rely on link names
- [12:44] Soft Linden: What do people think about making this 'New prims should always be added to the end of a linked set' ?
- [12:45] Johan Laurasia: whatever it happens to be
- [12:45] Soft Linden: And a feature request
- [12:45] Dedric Mauriac: I think that is expected Soft
- [12:45] Soft Linden: I'd sure be down with retitling it that way and importing
- [12:45] Kaluura Boa: I think I read somewhere new prims are always linked as child 2 and beyond
- [12:46] Dedric Mauriac: unless you have an index specified where the prim will be inserted
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: so rename, move and import?
- [12:46] Dedric Mauriac: ouch? child 2?
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Yus!
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: will do :)
- [12:46] Soft Linden: And can you fix it too, while you're at it Alexa?
- [12:46] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3925 - Some persistant prim properties lost when duplicated
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: lol sure thing ;)
- [12:46] Soft Linden: You're doing everything else, so...
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: with my teki wiki prowess.......
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: *cough*
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Ah yeah, import too
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:47] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4259 - Group Role Ability > Object Management > Manipulate Group Objects Enables anyone enabled to return group objects.
- [12:47] LSL Scientist: (offtopic, i made new sign for sandbox ppl, allows anyone to copy)
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: lmao
- [12:48] Slee Mayo: that looks like emily
- [12:48] Soft Linden: This would be a dupe of SVC-585 I think
- [12:48] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-585:
- [#SVC-585] same group: policy for group-owned and group-shared objects
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:49] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-432 - owners teleport to landing zones
- [12:49] Soft Linden: Should probably import SVC-585 - the original of the last one
- [12:49] Latif Khalifa: this one is very annoying indeed
- [12:50] Dedric Mauriac: 432 sounds like expected behavior, but annoying
- [12:50] Soft Linden: +1 Latif
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:50] Soft Linden: Yeah, this should be imported.
- [12:50] Soft Linden: We actually hired an engineer to work on teleport exclusively for a while. So she can take this one up!
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: import it is
- [12:50] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4321 - Media URLs too short
- [12:50] Latif Khalifa: as far as i recall the problem is only on telports outside the sim
- [12:50] Soft Linden: Alexa - if you want to add Whump as a watcher on the last one, he can get it into the new engineer's hands
- [12:50] Latif Khalifa: (local tps work fine)
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:51] Soft Linden: Didn't we do one similar to this last week?
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: I can check....
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: don't remember off hand....
- [12:52] Dedric Mauriac: URL's should be 1024 characters
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: still has vacation brain
- [12:52] Soft Linden: I'm trying to find it.. having major deja vu
- [12:53] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: thought of the font just then. >_>
- [12:53] Thickbrick Sleaford: that's from dec-28: SVC-4109
- [12:53] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4109:
- [#SVC-4109] maximum URL: length problematic with http-in
- [12:53] Latif Khalifa: vacation brain is good :)
- [12:53] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: And no, I don't remember either. :p
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Ah yeah!
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: nice job Thickbrick :)
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Okay, so no - not a dupe
- [12:53] Latif Khalifa: 255 char limit in caps server ;)
- [12:53] Soft Linden: I'd import, and relate it to that one
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:53] Soft Linden: We need to check all our URL handling.
- [12:54] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-876 - 'For Sale' based search does not show scripted vendors
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Unless we're going to launch our own bit.ly :P
- [12:54] Dedric Mauriac: could do URL shortoning somehow
- [12:54] Dedric Mauriac: yea
- [12:54] Dedric Mauriac: sl.ly
- [12:54] Latif Khalifa: siearra leone does sell .sl domains for cheap :)
- [12:54] Jonathan Yap: But would the expanded url overflow some buffer later on?
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Hell with that. Let's just buy the .sl tld.
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Sierra Leone hasn't got -that- much to put on the web.
- [12:54] Dedric Mauriac: well, you can already use bit.ly - so later on is now
- [12:55] Soft Linden: The scripted vendor issue... hrm.
- [12:55] Dedric Mauriac: why buy SL tld? you can sue for copyright infringement
- [12:55] Soft Linden: This should be imported for discussion.
- [12:55] Latif Khalifa: i think the country was there first :P
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:55] Dedric Mauriac: tough!
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: And that's the last one for today
- [12:55] Soft Linden: The frustrating part is many scripted vendors also rename themselves to the current item. So even showing those would make for interesting search results.
- [12:56] Latif Khalifa: goo.gl got a greenland one
- [12:56] Dedric Mauriac: we have 5 minutes
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: thank you all for joining us today
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: and welcome to tall the new faces
- [12:56] Johan Laurasia: mine do t hat
- [12:56] Davy Linden: thanks, all
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: feel free to join us every Monday
- [12:56] Soft Linden: Heyyyyyy...
- [12:56] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: xP
- [12:56] Soft Linden: Anyone have favorite spots to visit? Should make a tradition of spamming slurls at the end of the meeting. :3
- [12:56] Dedric Mauriac: one of these mondays you'll get down to my bug on the list
- [12:56] Johan Laurasia: tempura island
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: Thanks as always to Harleen for the agenda and to Ellla for the heavy duty triaging work in Pjira
- [12:57] Soft Linden: I got wanderlust over the weekend, realized I've been haunting the same
