- [12:01] Alexa Linden: Today's triage is [1]
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: WB Aimee
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: and here's the man of the hour.......
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: listens to the band play
- [12:03] Soft Linden: Yaaaay
- [12:03] Aimee Linden: reeeeally need to learn not to use debug builds in meetings
- [12:03] Latif Khalifa: *drumroll*
- [12:03] Soft Linden: Hey hey!
- [12:03] Davy Linden: are we ready?
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: yup!
- [12:03] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5320 - Large amounts of free Linden $
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: let 'er rip!
- [12:03] Davy Linden: this is a dupe of SEC-573
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: moving to sec and closing as dup
- [12:03] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2844 - UI and Music Stream Sound Stuttery under Ubuntu 7.10 (fine in 7.04)
- [12:04] Davy Linden: 7?
- [12:04] Latif Khalifa: ububtu 7?
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Yeah. not a bug. The wrong balance is displayed temporarily in transaction history and in the viewer, but it's corrected at next login or next transaction, and the wrong value never makes it to the server that actually approves transactions.
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Er - it's a bug, but not a dangerous bug. :)
- [12:04] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: ...7? Christ.
- [12:04] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Not even an LTS...
- [12:04] Davy Linden: looks like it was reopened for ubuntu 9.10
- [12:04] Soft Linden: This was filed against 1.18
- [12:04] Latif Khalifa: Soft, how come when it happes to me it always takes money instead of adds :P
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Latif - it adds too. Saw a forum post from someone who was seeking advice on smuggling the "bug money" out of SL before LL noticed.
- [12:05] Latif Khalifa: hehe
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Shook my head sadly, but was glad he found something to keep himself busy :P
- [12:05] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Last comment states the problem is solved in Ubuntu Lucid Lynx - I'm guessing an issue with PulseAudio _again_.
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: hahaha
- [12:06] Soft Linden: We really need someplace to steer all these Linux audio issues
- [12:06] Latif Khalifa: i know people who were trying to "smuggle" aditi money for days :P
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: meta for it?
- [12:06] Soft Linden: Unfortuantely, the guy who's the most likely candidate for them is will tied up on the next viewer - more general issues
- [12:06] Soft Linden: Actually yea - someone want to create a meta Linux Audio issue?
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: sure I can
- [12:06] Soft Linden: We should be sure everything is under that umbrella, but not keep pushing individual issues into the other JIRA
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: then we can start linking to it
- [12:07] Soft Linden: Yeah.
- [12:07] Soft Linden: Because whoever's going to manage one of these issues will manage -all- of them.
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: so for this - last triaged?
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: then link?
- [12:07] Soft Linden: Yup!
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:07] Soft Linden: That's my big bossy opinionated opinion!
- [12:07] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5710 - No-transfer or no-modify objects can't be copied into attachments.
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: ^^
- [12:07] Latif Khalifa: hha
- [12:07] Soft Linden: This is deliberate, albeit something of a hack.
- [12:08] Kaluura Boa: This is really annoying
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: EB?
- [12:08] Liisa Runo: this is a duct tape fix
- [12:08] Soft Linden: There's not a mechanism for updating permissions when detaching something, so the current approach is to ensure that nothing is put into an object that would make it less permissive
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: expected behavior
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Mnnnn...
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Well, it's a hack though...
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: FR?
- [12:08] Soft Linden: I think we should import. I don't think it will be acted on soon, but we should fix it eventually.
- [12:08] Soft Linden: So this is as good a reminder as any.
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: roger that
- [12:08] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6001 - Landing on a slope the avatar turns and flies downhill
- [12:09] Kaluura Boa: It forces you to drop your tiny HUD on the ground to put no-trans anims in it... Iconvenient
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: agrees
- [12:09] Soft Linden: Right, Kaluura. And that's a pain. Especially for people with hair that won't even rez on an empty 512 parcel, ha!
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: :p
- [12:09] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:09] Kaluura Boa: heheeh True
- [12:09] Soft Linden: "Where'd all the furniture go, dear?" "Tee hee. I was doing my hair."
- [12:10] Latif Khalifa: :P
- [12:10] Soft Linden: Huh.
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: Affects Version/s: 1.19.1.4
- [12:10] Soft Linden: Can we NMI on this - what angle/speed should be enough to trigger a landing? How would they like it to work?
- [12:10] Latif Khalifa: (attechment state should be able to be saved on state change instead on just on detach)
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:11] Davy Linden: and is it still a problem (logged april 08)
- [12:11] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2250 - Body of email from outworld to object never arrives, subject, address do arrive.
- [12:11] Kaluura Boa: Censorship?
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: waves a tiny fist in the air
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: we have some scripts to test
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: looks like a good candidate for QA to poke
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Okay, in the comments...
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Tender is saying this is email sent to a HUD, not a static in-world object
- [12:13] Aimee Linden: "Since the upgrade to Havok4" the mail must be bouncing too far when it hits the doormat
- [12:14] Soft Linden: Huh.
- [12:14] Soft Linden: I'm surprised that would even work at all.
- [12:14] Soft Linden: I know sometimes my objects stop receiving bodies until a sim restart, though that's become much more rare...
- [12:15] Latif Khalifa: they recieve mail on touch istead of polling
- [12:15] Soft Linden: I think there's already an issue for that. This guy makes it sound like every time...
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Hmm!
- [12:15] Latif Khalifa: and they are sending main before the first check is made
- [12:15] Latif Khalifa: mail
- [12:15] Latif Khalifa: perhaps the system needs you to start checking for email
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Yeah. That's not really how that's supposed to work.
- [12:15] Latif Khalifa: before it registers handler
- [12:16] Soft Linden: I wouldn't be surprised if the mail queue ages out automatically, assuming a script grabs it within an hour or whatever. Kelly would know for sure...
- [12:16] Latif Khalifa: it's the wrog
- [12:16] Latif Khalifa: the wrong way to handle mail in that scritp anyway
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Right.
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Or I don't know if it's wrong... but certainly being done in a way we'd never envisioned it being used.
- [12:17] Jonathan Yap: What should happen to mail send to an object that is lacking a handler -- maybe that has to be documented
- [12:17] Soft Linden: For this, it would be helpful if someone would point them at proper mail handling example code, and NMI, asking if it still happens with that approach
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:18] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11360 - Linux beta crash on loading for Intel 945 series
- [12:18] Latif Khalifa: intel 945...
- [12:19] Ellla McMahon: are Intel graphics supported on Linux OS ?
- [12:19] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Open source drivers.
- [12:19] Soft Linden: So, later Intel drivers include workarounds that prevent crashes/lockups with GMA 945/955/965, albeit at a bit of a performance cost
- [12:20] Soft Linden: Yeah, Intel makes (or at least leads the project) on the open source 945 drivers afaik
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: looks at https://secure-web42.secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/
- [12:20] Soft Linden: It's not like Intel and nVidia where it's a separate beast
- [12:20] Soft Linden: I have no clue if that version includes the fix
- [12:22] Latif Khalifa: it's pretty outdated that page
- [12:22] Soft Linden: Does anyone know if there's a forum/mailing list where the Linux client users hang out, answer questions?
- [12:22] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: doesn't.
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: may be an inworld group
- [12:22] Boroondas Gupte: [2]
- [12:22] Latif Khalifa: nvidia gtx-2xx series has been out for more than a year and is not listed
- [12:22] Soft Linden: It's definitely possible to use Ubuntu + the SL viewer stably on a 945. But neither support nor nudging this internally would turn up a timely solution, I'm sure
- [12:22] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: The Ubuntu Linux group usually gets a lot of attention.
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: thanks Boroondas :D
- [12:23] Boroondas Gupte: yw :-)
- [12:23] Soft Linden: And this problem was on all GL, not just the SL Viewer. So it's really an OS issue.
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Yeah, I'd point them at the forum link there, and at Ubuntu's own support forums
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:23] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14070 - terrain blending not rendering with new viewer update
- [12:23] Soft Linden: They should be able to have this problem even with like the glxgears demo
- [12:25] Soft Linden: Huh!
- [12:25] Soft Linden: So this is probably running at the lowest graphics level on a 945?
- [12:25] Soft Linden: Turning my level down as a test...
- [12:25] Soft Linden: I wonder if someone turned off the multipass terrain as an "optimization" or something
- [12:26] Soft Linden: No, still blending. Though it looks like a badly frosted cake with low terrain detail.
- [12:27] Eddi Decosta: hug Alexa ::)
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: Can't repro?
- [12:27] Soft Linden: Well, I'm not on a 945
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: Hi Eddi :)
- [12:27] Soft Linden: Let's import it for testing on a 945, if we even have one
- [12:27] Eddi Decosta: hi, sorry this interrupt
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: lol will do :)
- [12:27] Soft Linden: Dunno if we support less than a 965
- [12:28] Soft Linden: er 955
- [12:28] Latif Khalifa: 945 is listed as min supported
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Wow, okay.
- [12:28] Latif Khalifa: https://secure-web42.secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: ya....
- [12:28] Latif Khalifa: perhaps that page needs updating
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: that REALLY needs updating :p
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: jinx
- [12:29] Soft Linden: Yeah.
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: I'll find someone to poke on this ^^
- [12:29] Soft Linden: Enticing someone to use a 945 with 1024x1024 textures is just being cruel.
- [12:29] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15844 - llDetectedTouchPos does not return relative positition from attach poing, but position on screen when attached as a HUD
- [12:29] Latif Khalifa: and put nvidia gtx-200 series as recommended instead of 8xxx ;)
- [12:30] Soft Linden: Wow, really?
- [12:30] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: hello little cube :)
- [12:30] Drub Linden: Please excuse me. Must depart for a meeting. Thank you, all.
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: bye Drub :)
- [12:30] Attach Poing: (ha!): Touched: <-0.24994, -0.24167, 0.25833>
- [12:30] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, 0.00000>

- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, 0.00000>
- [12:31] Liisa Runo: this touchPos thing is tricky, so many toys are scripted to current behavior
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Touched: <-0.24994, 0.24917, 0.25250>
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, 0.00000>
- [12:31] Eddi Decosta: lol Alexa
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Touched: <-0.24994, -0.00083, 0.45917>
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, 0.00000>
- [12:31] Tillie Ariantho: I think all the coordinate stuff in scripting is rather weird. How are those touchpos meant to be used? I cant redo all coords in my script manually after an UI change?
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: nods to Liisa's comment
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Touched: <-0.24994, 0.00000, 0.25083>

- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, -0.25000>
- [12:31] Latif Khalifa: yes, two years worth of huds use it. document it as expected behaviour :D
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Touched: <-0.25000, -0.24083, 0.47500>
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, -0.25000>

- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Touched: <-0.24994, 0.24583, 0.00667>
- [12:31] Attach Poing: (ha!): Position: <0.00000, 0.00000, -0.25000>
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: damn all the touching....
- [12:32] Attach Poing: (ha!): Stop poking me, it hurts.
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: runs to clean the logs
- [12:32] Tillie Ariantho: touchpos is as weird as rotation commands for prims
- [12:32] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:32] Soft Linden: There's -something- funny going on there.
- [12:32] Soft Linden: Yeah, let's import this.
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:32] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2727 - Primatives sometimes disappear from view. Depends on direction of view.
- [12:33] Soft Linden: Surprised this didn't have a billion votes. Maybe everyone's too used to 250 prim HUDs :P
- [12:33] Tillie Ariantho: Soft: those 250 prim HUDs at least work... if I change the UI texture then I move some prims... fixed.
- [12:33] Soft Linden: Yup!
- [12:33] Tillie Ariantho: For the touchpos... its just... er... bad.
- [12:34] Kaluura Boa: Who uses llDetectedPos() on HUD?
- [12:34] Liisa Runo: my new and shiny low prim huds work just fine, *hugs* the new touch functions
- [12:34] Tillie Ariantho: I made my posingstand, backdrop and light only 1 prim each, so people have to live with the 30-50 prim hud. :P
- [12:34] Tillie Ariantho: Thats still good compared to all those 'studios' out there. ;)
- [12:36] Soft Linden: Has anyone seen this disappearing prim issue?
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: when building
- [12:36] Soft Linden: What happens when building?
- [12:36] Liisa Runo: i saw some prims disappearing in some old client, but it was fixed already, but maybe not the same issue
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: +1 w/ Liisa
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: haven't seen in a while
- [12:37] Soft Linden: So not recently?
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: correct
- [12:37] Soft Linden: I was wondering if the 1.23 reopen might be the max avatar count, and the batch limit that broke the super high detail jewelry, etc
- [12:38] Latif Khalifa: that limit was increased with security update in .5
- [12:38] Soft Linden: Yup
- [12:38] Davy Linden: NMI - still a problem?
- [12:38] Soft Linden: Do we have a knob for adjusting the maximum avatar render count?
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: there's a setting in bedug for.....
- [12:39] Soft Linden: I'm pretty sure it's a debug setting, yeah. I know Emerald adds a little slider in the pop up tray in the lower right
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: dang... can't remember what it's called
- [12:40] Latif Khalifa: max node something :P
- [12:40] Soft Linden: Let's do this. Let's ask the guy who reopened if 1.23.5 changed this for him. And if not, if he can give a LM for a place where it seems especially bad
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:40] Tillie Ariantho: "RenderAvatarMaxVisible"
- [12:40] Soft Linden: If anyone else runs across a location or activity that makes it bad, please do add it to the comments!
- [12:40] Tillie Ariantho: it is.
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ty Tillie :D
- [12:40] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3291 - "Arrow Keys Always Move Avatar While Chatting", when disabled, should allow up arrow to do chat history.
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ya, this came up for the disappearing prims on jewelry
- [12:40] Soft Linden: Ah yeah - and suggest he can tweak that debug setting if he sees avatars disappearing
- [12:40] Tillie Ariantho: Which doesnt seem to work, or different than expected. ^^
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:42] Davy Linden: I think this is a FR
- [12:42] Soft Linden: I'd disagree on this, just because chat history destroys the line in progres. It would make it easier to make a mistake...
- [12:42] Soft Linden: Suddenly the two keys between the left and right edit are "DESTROY!"
- [12:42] Kaluura Boa: Sure... The only thing to fix with chat history is that there are 2 of them for the chat bar and the Communiate window
- [12:42] Soft Linden: Dunno what others think
- [12:43] Soft Linden: Yeah, that's a bit silly too
- [12:43] Latif Khalifa: i'd say current behaviour is the best
- [12:43] Eddi Decosta: i notice this when i need ton erease a word on my text in local chat, i cant use my arrow
- [12:43] Davy Linden: FR? or won't fix?
- [12:43] Soft Linden: I think this should be a feature request...
- [12:43] Tillie Ariantho: A way to move back in chat history would be really nice. Especially if you type a LONG line SL will eat it, often, and if you have to type it again, it just sucks.
- [12:43] Boroondas Gupte: Ctrl-up/down is fine to me. Though the destroying might be worth working on.
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: FR it is! Sold!
- [12:43] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-645 - Friendslist not any longer sorted by name
- [12:43] Eddi Decosta: yes Soft , i think so to
- [12:43] Soft Linden: And I'll add that comment about destructive up/down, suggesting a patch to retain lines in progress should be part of this change if anyone wants to do it
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: was it?
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: it's online vs offline....
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: goes to look
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: for me it's alpha for online then offline
- [12:45] Soft Linden: This is on the web page
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: right
- [12:45] Latif Khalifa: sorted by online, name
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: and that's alpha for me
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: as is offline coming after
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: but not mixed within the two
- [12:45] Soft Linden: Yeah, it's online status major, name minor for me
- [12:45] Latif Khalifa: yup
- [12:46] Soft Linden: This would be pre-525
- [12:46] Latif Khalifa: i don't remember if the old site had it only by name
- [12:46] Jonathan Yap: The sort order is a little odd, with lower case names coming after upper case ones
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Let's NMI, asking if it's still a problem
- [12:46] Davy Linden: it's alphabetical - but case sensitive - anyone who created their account with a small letter at start - shows at end of list
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: ya will do
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Oooh, good catch!
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Yeah, should be another issue for the lexicographic sort whatchamacallit
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: gold stars for davy!
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Should be case insensitive alpha
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: you've won the grid!!!
- [12:46] Boroondas Gupte: so dupe of https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-729 ?
- [12:46] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#WEB-729|JIRA-helper: [#WEB-729]]:
- [12:46] Davy Linden: lol
- [12:46] Davy Linden: ty boroondas
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Yes, and import that one :)
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: realted to - import 729
- [12:47] Soft Linden: <3 Boroondas' giant JIRA brain
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: related*
- [12:47] Boroondas Gupte: eh, it was linked there
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: lmao
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: shhhh take the credit
- [12:47] Boroondas Gupte: likes JIRA's hover tooltips
- [12:48] Soft Linden: It's rare that I'm nice. You'll take it and you'll like it. >:( Graaaaaar.
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:48] Latif Khalifa: haha
- [12:48] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-1960 - Make PJIRA name capitalization match Second Life capitalization
- [12:48] Davy Linden: yes, PLEASE!
- [12:49] Soft Linden: I -think- this might have been fixed, but not for accounts that had already used JIRA
- [12:49] Soft Linden: Let's import, make our JIRA hosting company earn their keep :)
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: I can poke the peeps
- [12:49] Latif Khalifa: :D
- [12:49] Latif Khalifa: they deserve some smacking after losing stuff a couple of weeks back :P
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: <.<
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: indeed
- [12:50] Soft Linden: Yeah, that was uncool. Though it was just a few hours I think?
- [12:50] Latif Khalifa: half a day or so
- [12:50] Soft Linden: ouch.
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: nods
- [12:50] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-2860 - SLIM incorrectly show friends as offline who are actually logged on to SL
- [12:51] Davy Linden: someone uses slim??
- [12:51] Boroondas Gupte: wasn't SLIM limited to contacting people running a specific LL client?
- [12:51] Eddi Decosta: inspected for this bugs
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: lol
