Edit Tools UI test
Create Tool
- Click ctrl-4 (or click the Build button at the bottom of the screen) to open the Create window
- Verify you see 13 primitive shape icons, an icon for trees, and an icon for grass.
- Verify "Keep Tool Selected" checkbox is unchecked by default.
- Check "Keep Tool Selected"
- Click the ground and verify a box was created.
- Click the ground a second time and verify a second box was created.
- Shift click both boxes to select them.
- Check "Copy Selection"
- Click the ground, and verify a copy of the two boxes were created.
- Click the cylinder icon. Verify "Copy Selection" has become unchecked.
- Click the ground to rez a cylinder
- Check "Copy Selection", and verify "Center Copy" is checked.
- Click the top face of the cylinder, near the edge.
- Verify a cylinder was created and perfectly centered on top of the other cylinder.
- Right-click edit the top cylinder, then rotate it on the X and Y axis.
- Click the Create button again, and check "Rotate Copy".
- Click on the top cylinder.
- I don't know what "Rotate Copy" is expected to do. Is it broken?
- Click the box icon.
- Uncheck "Keep Tool Selected"
- Click the ground. Verify a box was created and the window has automatically switched to Edit mode.
Edit Tool - General Tab
- Create a box and edit it.
- The "General" tab should be visible by default.
- Type something into the Name field, hit tab.
- Type something into the Description field, then click the ground.
- Click the object again, and verify the Name and Description are correct.
- Click the Profile buttons and verify the open your profile
- Click the Group "Set:" button, then choose a group (that you are officer or owner of) from the group chooser window that pops up. Verify the Group field now says the name of the group.
- Verify the edit window says "1 Object, 1 Primitive"
- Turn on Debug (Ctrl-Alt-Shift-D), then enable Client menu > Debug Permissions.
- Verify you can see the permissions of the object; Permissions: B:VMCT O:VMCT G: E: N:V T F:VMCT
- Verify you see "You can modify this object."
- Verify you can Check and Uncheck the "Share with group" checkbox.
- Verify the "Deed" button becomes enabled when
- Verify you can Check and Uncheck the "Allow anyone to move" checkbox.
- Verify you can Check and Uncheck the "Allow anyone to copy" checkbox.
- Verify you can Check and Uncheck the "For Sale" checkbox.
- Check the "For Sale" checkbox. Verify the price defaults to L$10
- Verify you can only type positive numbers from 0 and up into the Price box. (2147483647 appears to be the upper limit)
- Verify you can choose either Original, Copy, or Contents.
- Uncheck the "For Sale" checkbox and verify the price is reset to L$10
- Check "Modify", "Copy", and "Resell" checkboxes.
- Uncheck "Resell", then uncheck "Copy". Verify "Resell" became checked.
- Verify you cannot uncheck "Resell" if "Copy" is unchecked.
- Verify you can uncheck "Modify"
- Verify you can change the "When Left-Clicked" drop down to "Sit on Object", "Buy Object", "Open", but you get a descriptive error when you choose "Pay Object"
Edit Tool - Object Tab
- Create a torus and edit it.
- Click the "Object" tab.
- Verify all fields are within the boundary of the window.
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Locked"
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Physical"
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Temporary"
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Phantom"
- The fields that have a up-arrow and down-arrow widgets are called "spinners".
- Verify you can change all the "spinner" fields in 3 ways; Clicking the up and down arrows, typing into the number field then hitting tab or enter, or holding your mouse cursor over the number field and scrolling your mouse's scroll-wheel.
- Verify you can change the Material field to Stone, Metal, Glass, Wood, Flesh, Plastic and Rubber.
- Verify you can change the Building Block Type to Box, Cylinder, Prism, Sphere, Torus, Tube, Ring and Sculpted.
- Change the Building Block Type to Box, change "Hollow" to 50.0.
- Verify you can change the Hollow Shape to Circle, Square, and Triangle.
- Change the Building Block Type to Sculpted.
- Verify a Sculpt Texture is visible, and that clicking it opens a texture picker. Close the Texture picker.
Edit Tool - Features Tab
- Create a box and edit it.
- Click the Features tab.
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Flexible Path"
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Light"
- Enable "Flexible Path" and "Light"
- Verify you can change all the "spinner" fields in 3 ways; Clicking the up and down arrows, typing into the number field then hitting tab or enter, or holding your mouse cursor over the number field and scrolling your mouse's scroll-wheel.
- Verify you can click the Light's color swatch and change the color of the light.
Edit Tool - Texture Tab
- Create a box and edit it.
- Click the Texture tab.
- Click the texture swatch and pick a different texture.
- Click the color swatch and pick a different color.
- Verify you can change all the "spinner" fields in 3 ways; Clicking the up and down arrows, typing into the number field then hitting tab or enter, or holding your mouse cursor over the number field and scrolling your mouse's scroll-wheel.
- Verify the range of the "Transparency" is from 0 to 90.
- Verify the range of the Repeats Per Face "Horizontal" and "Vertical" is from 0 to 100.
- Verify the range of the "Rotation(degrees)" is from -360 to 360 (although you are allowed to enter larger numbers)
- Verify the range of the "Repeats Per Meter" is from 0.1 to 10.0.
- Verify you can click the Apply button next to the Repeats Per Meter"
- Verify the range of the Offset "Horizontal" and "Vertical" is from -1.0 to 1.0.
- Verify you see an "Align media texture" button.
- Verify you can check and uncheck "Full Bright".
- Verify you can change the mapping between "Default" and "Planar".
- Verify you can change the Shininess between "None", "Low", "Medium", and "High".
- Verify you can change the Bumpiness between "None", "Brightness", "Darkness", and the other 15 bump patterns listed.
Edit Tool - Content Tab
- Create a box and edit it.
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the "New Script..." button. Verify a "New Script" appears in the Contents area of the window.
