TSL Mentors 2.0 info

We are Teen Grid residents who devote part of our time to helping new people. Meeting, greeting, teaching and answering questions is our specialty! We are the few...the proud...the MENTORS!

My Roles

  • TSL Mentor 2.0
  • TSL Mentor Buddy
  • TSL Nix Bazaar Manager
  • TSL Greeter

Who are we

  • The Teen Second Life Mentor group is made up of advanged residents who have volunteered to devote part of their time to helping new Residents at the Welcoming Areas, Sandboxes, InfoHubs, Popular Places etc. TSL Mentors answer questions, give advice, and provide guidance.
  • Mentors can have other cool roles such as TSL Buddy, TSL Helper or a TSL Greeter where they can encourage new residents to enjoy TSL and for them to explore it.

My TSL Mentor History

  • I Applied for TSL Mentors 2.0 in late May 2007 on the secondlife website then finally got accepted into the TSL Mentors 2.0 group by e-mail in September 2007 yay because of the group was getting a re-make over so there was a wait. Went to the First Orientation Session in September 2007 which was cool to meet the VTeam and get a free TSL Mentors T-Shirt and Info Notecards. Went to the first TSL Mentors Meeting 2.0 Meeting in December on the new TSL Volunteer Island with fellow Mentors that was a excellent experience.
  • In 2008 the new TSL Volunteer Island was getting built (still under going work). I went the 2nd TSL Mentors Meeting on the 31st January from 4pm - 5pm SLT to get told the upcoming projects, news, new roles etc, guess what? I had to talk about the TSL Greeter role in TSL Mentors 2.0 group woooot! that was amazing to do that to speak about it. I joined TSL Mentor Buddy role on 4th February 2008 woot woot yay this is so amazing, also I was the first Buddy to be invited into TSL Mentors 2.0 wow!
  • I've updated the TSL Flickr Flickr for TSL Mentors 2.0 with a few new changes to the process of sending in their snapshots. On 7th of March 2008 there was a TSL Mentors Meeting my 3rd one since I joined the group, this meeting was very short but fun with telling us that new mentors were accepted into the group, new orientation sessions coming, how to be a tsl mentor buddy. Then things got strange when we started a pie a linden game haha, great way to end a meeting.
  • Not long after the March Meeting, there were 2 orientation sessions for new mentors to come along to. I decided to re-visit the orientation presented by Mia, Amber, Blue, George, Lexie, I really enjoyed the orientation sessions - good old times. The the notecards in the Orientation Guide have been updated abit which was good to know.

Update: I've been starting to add helpful resources to the tsl volunteer island small stores e.g. building, scripting.

Update on the next Mentor Meeting: There will be another Mentors 2.0 Meeting Soon!
